Octodad: Dadliest Catch: Octodad Achievements

A full walkthrough of all the achievements in Octodad: Dadliest Catch. Some of these are challenging, but this guide will give you some tricks on how to get it done, including the way I did it.

Introduction

This guide is a Work In Progress. I will likely finish it after the holidays, but wanted to publish what I had for those that find this guide while this message is still up. If I haven’t added one that you’re stuck on, I’ll try to finish the guide soon.

Connect and play using a game controller.

Just use a controller, it’s easier anyway.

Wedding

Domino Dynamo

They were just lined up so perfectly…

Using the knocked pillar, knock down an entire row of pillars from the beginning. If you mess up, load the last checkpoint to retry. This will likely take lots of tries.

The Best Man

Get married with the best man on the altar.

Put the flopping fish on the altar behind Scarlet as you put the ring on her finger.

Trickshot-gun Wedding

Throw the ring onto Scarlet’s finger from a distance.

You need to stand in front of Scarlet, in front of the altar, and throw the ring onto her finger. She should put her hand up, but you must be far enough away that you can’t reach her hand.

Home Sweet Home

Smokey the Dad

Only you can prevent kitchen fires.

Pick up the flaming log in the oven and put it in the sink that Scarlet stands in front of when you walk in.

The Secret Gardener

Orange no-thumbs are the new green thumbs.

You have to pluck all the weeds without stepping on Scarlet’s flowers. The easiest way to do this is by keeping your feet to the middle of the pathway and moving along slowly as you pluck the weeds.

Trim Your Mustache

Get sucked into the riding mower.

This one is similar to the Trickshot-gun Wedding achievement, as when you finish all the chores you have to throw the birdfeeder onto the hook. It will likely take a few tries, and the achievement will pop when you get sucked into the mower, not when you pin the birdfeeder on the hook. I’ve seen that you can get this to work by just letting go before the mower comes up, but that’s not how I did it.

Gervason’s Grocery Store

Secret Shopper

Get the Sports Johnson cereal before the lady puts it in her cart.

When you get into the grocery store; sneak down the freezer aisle, as stepping into the next aisle will trigger the lady picking up the cereal. Climb over the aisle around the middle, and you should be able to see the cereal when the camera changes angles. The cereal you want will be by itself and have a glowing effect on it, just reach down and grab it to get the achievement.

Unacceptable Purchase!

You’re the Earl of Lemondad.

Pick up a lemon from the produce section, in the bottom right corner, and then scan it at the checkout line. You can scan the lemon as soon as you get it.

Person-al Shopper

Help all of the shoppers fill their carts.

Go around and find the 4 customers with shopping carts, one of them being the lady who tries to get the Sports Johnson cereal, and put something in their cart. I recommend putting something small like sunglasses in the cereal lady’s cart. Or you can take something out, but that raises suspicion.

Boat

Oh Captain, My Captain

Visit with several of your crewmen while dressed as the captain.

Acquire the Captain’s disguise, the Captain’s hat, and then go back and visit the 4 crew members where you swabbed the deck and the guy you stole the coffee cup from.They will say something about going back to work and after talking to the 5th one the achievement will pop.

Band of Blubbers

Rescue five of your brethren from an awful fate.

Simply pick up 5 fish from the conveyor belt and throw them back in the ocean.

Aquarium

No Cutsies

We have rules for a reason.

When you have to get tickets at the Tikcet Both, do what you’re supposed to do and wait your turn in line.

Dancing in the Dark
(Deep Sea)

Complete the Deep Sea dance challenge without missing a step.

Self-explanatory: just step on all the glowing floor panels.

Secrets of the Deep
(Deep Sea)

Reveal the pride of the aquarium’s jellyfish collection.

After doing Dancing in the Dark, grab the shake light and head down the stairs. Take a left and then go across tiles. Take a left and go until you find the scientist, then you want to go down the hallway with a sign of a rainbow jellyfish. Go down this hallway and look at the jellyfish for to get the achievement.

Stairs with Attitude
(Deep Sea)

Climb the escalators in less than 30 seconds.

Self-explanatory: climb both escalators in 30 seconds or less and press the button at the top to get it to pop.

Around the World in Several Seconds
(World of Kelp)

Complete the World of Kelp globe game in less than 30 seconds.

This one can be challenging, as you have to click 10 spots around the globe in 30 seconds or less. The order is 1 Green, 2 Red, 3 Yellow, and 4 Purple.

The Hero They Deserve
(World of Kelp)

Manage to rescue more than 15 kelp in the World of Kelp otter game.

Have at least 15 kelp left when playing as the otter-goalie.

Head Otter
(World of Kelp)

Wear the sea otter head.

Rip the head of the goalie off and put it on your head.

Amazonian Antagonist
(Amazon Arcade)

In the jungle, you survive by any means necessary. Even cheating.

Cheat at some of the arcade games, when they comment on your cheating you can move on. Just walk into the water for Fruit Blaster and Fish Toss to get them to make a comment, and step on the table for Basketball and Air Hockey. You do have to get most of the way inside the claw machine to get the comment for that machine.
