Welcome to our comprehensive guide for achieving 100% completion in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy! In this guide, we will cover all of the achievements available in the game, as well as how long it will take to complete them (20-25 hours) and the minimum number of playthroughs required (one, with the option for a NG+ playthrough). Be aware that there are 11 achievements that may be missed, but don’t worry – our guide has got you covered. It was written by Julien on February 13th, 2024, so you can trust that you’re getting the most up-to-date information. Let’s dive in and conquer all the achievements in this epic game!
Guideline
Certain choices made early in the game will have consequences later on, altering your adventure by opening certain passages in later levels and giving you access to additional collectibles. Wasting your money in Chapter 6 may require you to restart the game or at least a large section of it. Collectibility-based achievements can be earned in NG+, but chapter selection cannot be used because the game does not save progress when you reload a chapter. It is important to note that the game does not require players to collect all the collectibles.
No achievements is tied to a particular difficulty setting, so feel free to play the way you want, but keep in mind that the hard mode will only increase the health of your enemies, making fights last longer. Most trophies are related to the story, so there is no need to worry about them. Achievements that are tied to actions you take in battle will mostly be a matter of course and can all be earned through chapter replay.
Note: The best way to maximize your achievements in a single game and at the start of an NG+ is to focus on collecting items and avoid spending money on unnecessary fines. This guide provides an overview of the achievement categories, but feel free to explore and collect everything you can.
Story, hidden & unmissable achievement
It is a good idea to watch the videos in the achievement descriptions at the end of each chapter in order to collect as many collectibles as possible. The achievements are π₯ Lore Hoarder. π₯Like a Glove! π₯Thoughtful Captain and π₯ Managerial Skills.
Note: The achievement π₯ Fashion Passion can only be obtained during a NG+ playthrough. Be sure to collect all costumes during your initial playthrough to avoid having to collect them again in NG+.
From the beginning, Rocket will attempt to show his superiority by challenging you to destroy more nests than he does. If you beat him, you will receive π₯Eat It, Rodent.
In order to ensure that you have enough credits to pay your fine, it is recommended that you do not make any of the purchases in Chapter 6. You will receive enough documents and Guardian items throughout the course of the story to be able to progress without the collectibles in this chapter. However, if you do decide to spend your money, be sure to spend no less than the unlock amount set by Ko-Rel.π₯ Galactic Frugality

Missable: ββββ
Details: In chapter 15, you will face the Great Unifier Raker. The fight is quite long, as he has three Health Bars, and the only way to defeat him is to make him go into Shock, and then use all of the Guardians to attack him.

Missable: βββ
Details: The Magus is the game’s great (in every sense of the word) villain. Fighting him is fun, with two distinct phases: provoking him and then attacking him. Use any means necessary to provoke him. Then attack him when he is vulnerable. To defeat him, repeat this process three times.
Missable: ββββ
Abilities & Guns
Missable: ββ
Details: The game will automatically unlock this achievement upon the player’s purchase of an ability during a tutorial.
Missable: ββ
Details: Buy any ability for each guardian to obtain the achievement.
Missable: ββ
Details: To get this achievement, you must reach chapter 14, as Groot’s final ability will not be unlocked until then. Each Guardian has four abilities, the first of which is available from the start of the game, and another which is automatically unlocked at a key moment. You will need to spend five ability points per Guardian. That makes a total of 25 points. Don’t worry. You have more than enough skill points to complete this achievement.
Missable: β
Details: Star-Lord will automatically discover this power in chapter 3.
Missable: β
Details: Star-Lord will automatically discover this power in chapter 7.
Missable: β
Details: Star-Lord will automatically discover this power in chapter 10.
Missable: β
Details: Star-Lord will automatically discover this power in chapter 13.
Combat with the Guardians
You’ll have to face many enemies along the way. This will allow you to gain a lot of experience, which you can use to buy the abilities of your guardians and, above all, to obtain the achievements linked to your combat skills:
Missable: ββββ
Details: You can resurrect your fallen teammates by standing next to them. Only you, can resurrect your teammates.
Details: You make your enemies stagger when you fill the bar underneath their lives.
Missable: ββ
Details: You will need to purchase this upgrade from Rocket at the workbench. Importantly, Charged Fire does not kill the enemy immediately; it requires at least two shots.
Tips: The easiest way to accomplish this is to weaken a vulnerable enemy, such as the Nova Soldiers, by reducing their Health by half and then immobilizing them with the Frost Element. Before finishing it off with a Charged Shot.
Missable: ββ
Details: Maximum Momentum is the score you get at the end of a fight. The highest score is exceptional. The game is fun because you can take hits without losing your momentum boost.
Tips: Vary your attacks and goalkeeping skills to increase your momentum and score top marks.
Missable: ββ
Details: Super attacks are available when an enemy is close to death. A combination of keys will appear above the enemy’s head.
Star-Lord is capable of melee combat, which triggers a combo when consecutive melee attacks are used on an enemy. Perform this next to any Guardian for the following achievements:
- Drax:π₯Katathian Handshake
- Gamora:π₯Killer Friendship
- Groot:π₯Timber!
- Rocket:π₯Aim Assist
Missable: ββ
Details: The auto-combo is easy to perform: simply perform melee attacks on an enemy next to Drax and he will join you in finishing them off, unlocking the achievement.
Missable: ββ
Details: The auto-combo is easy to perform: simply perform melee attacks on an enemy next to Gamora and he will join you in finishing them off, unlocking the achievement.
Missable: ββ
Details: The auto-combo is easy to perform: simply perform melee attacks on an enemy next to Groot and he will join you in finishing them off, unlocking the achievement.
Missable: ββ
Details: The auto-combo is easy to perform: simply perform melee attacks on an enemy next to Rocket and he will join you in finishing them off, unlocking the achievement.
Each guardian will unlock a special ability for free during the adventure, and later achievements will only require you to use those skills:
- Star-Lord: Eye of the Hurricane:π₯Altitude Adjustment
- Star-Lord: Fan the Hammer:π₯Bullet Hell
- Rocket: Five Barrel Barrage:π₯Boom Show
- Drax: Wrath of Katath:π₯Adding Injury to Insult
- Gamora: Executioner:π₯Trained to Perfection
- Groot: Gift of the Florae:π₯Herbal Remedy
Missable: ββ
Details: This ability is available for 3 points. It deals area damage, but it may not be enough to kill enemies in one hit. Before using this ability to eliminate enemies, be sure to weaken them first. Repeat the action until the achievement is reached.
Tips: I combined Star-Lord’s special attack with Rocket’s gravity grenade to make this task easier.
Missable: ββ
Details: Fan the Hammer is the second ability you can purchase for this Guardian, costing 2 points. This ability deals a significant amount of damage, making it easy to kill 15 enemies
Missable: ββ
Details: Rocket’s Cannon Barrage ability will be automatically unlocked in Chapter 11, and he will deploy a dozen or so weapons that will fire in all directions and knock out anything that moves. This ability is useful if you are overpowered, and achievements will be earned quickly.
Tips: The special attack can be used in combination with Rocket’s gravity grenade to increase your chances of success.
Following
Missable: βββ
Details: Wrath of Katah is the fourth of Drax’s abilities that will be automatically unlocked in Chapter 12. When hit, enemies will be surrounded by a red aura.
Missable: βββ
Details: The Executioner ability is automatically unlocked in Chapter 12 and can kill a weak enemy instantly.
Missable: βββ
Details: Groot’s Florae ability is automatically unlocked in Chapter 14. This ability can be used for the healing or resurrection of fallen Guardians. You will earn the achievement after only two uses, as it affects all five Guardians at once.
During combat, you will often trigger Call to Actions. These actions are usually tied to the enemy’s state of shock or when they attack one of the Guardians, such as Groot and Drax’s Call to Action. To obtain the desired outcome, perform four of these actions:
- Drax: Call to arms against a Slakebeast in Chapter 3. π₯Slakebuster
- Gamora: Call to arms against a Nova Centurion in Chapter 7.π₯No Way, Nova Corps
- Drax: Call to arms against a Inquisitor in Chapter 7. π₯Drax the Dismemberer
- Groot: Call to arms against a Charger in Chapter 10.π₯Groot Canal
Missable: β
Details: In Chapter 3 you will face the Slakebeast. During the battle, a prompt will appear asking you to press a random key. It is recommended that Drax initiate the prompt. However, it can be random. If Drax does not initiate the prompt, reload the last checkpoint until he does, and do not quit the fight until you have completed it. The game will automatically do a save.

Missable: β
Details: In Chapter 7, you will locate the Nova Centurion. Make sure that the Call to Action is carried out by Gamora. If she does not, go back to the last checkpoint.
Note: video example: https://youtu.be/fikyAepNo9k?si=mjMAwId8_DUZDW0i
Missable: β
Details: The first Inquisitor can be found in Chapter 7 and will be unaccompanied. This is an opportune time to obtain the Achievement, as Drax’s Call to Action is infrequent and unpredictable. To accomplish this, the Inquisitor must be weakened and provoked into attacking Drax directly, which will activate Drax’s Call to Arms.
Note: video example: https://youtu.be/dn_Xuu3M3zs?si=ciqRQ2O13DUPPv5G
Missable: β
Details: The Charger can be found in Chapter 10. This achievement is similar to the one above. Groot will randomly start an animation and you must press it to get the achievement.

Guardian Collectibles & Outfits
Missable: β
Details: You’ll find an outfit pretty quickly in Chapter 1, so put it on to get the achievement.
Missable: β
Details: You won’t be able to get this achievement on your first playthrough because 3 Star-Lord costumes are unlocked by completing the game. If you start a NG+, you will need to re-equip all of the costumes for each Guardian, as the game will not recognize the costumes you have previously worn. The Achievement will not be unlocked until you have donned the final costume. Below are the costumes and their locations:
Note: location of costumes: https://youtu.be/OV1ptJyL1cs
Missable: β
Details: There are a total of 15 Guardian Collectibles to collect, 3 for each Guardian. Here is the list of items to collect per guardian:
Note: location of Guardian Collectibles: https://youtu.be/wONXLAlHWJ8
Missable: β
Details: Each Guardian has three items associated with them. You should get this trophy in Chapter 7 by following the videos, as Star-Lord’s final item is in that chapter. Please refer to the
π₯ Thoughtful Captain description for their locations.
Note: Keep in mind that you cannot obtain the missing items by selecting the chapters, as the game does not save them.
Missable: β
Details: To reach this goal, you must complete 65% of the entries in each category. The first four categories will fill up automatically as you progress. The Items category will fill up as you collect the Guardian collectibles for the other Achievement. To complete the Archives category, you will need to find text logs throughout the game. The first of these logs can be found in Rocket’s room.
Alternate paths can be used to find most of the collectibles and outfits. It is important to do as much exploration as possible. If you are trying to complete other achievements in this category, this achievement can be completed without much thought.
A good way to get a large number of Archive entries is to meet Lipless in Chapter 6. He will give you a ticket to the Collector’s Emporium, which normally costs 5000 units. Make sure you maintain your relationship with him and get the ticket for free. The Collector’s Emporium has a lot of archives to find.
Here are the correct choices for your conversation with Lipless:
- Pretend you remember
- Like a Hurricane
- Through the Rain
The exact threshold to hit 65% is:
- Characters: 18
- Factions: 10
- Creatures: 15
- Locations: 14
- Items: 21
- Archives: 45
Miscellaneous
Missable: ββ
Details: At the beginning of the game, Rocket will give you a brief challenge to destroy as many insect nests as possible, and a score screen will appear at the top of your screen. This sequence is partially scripted, as Rocket will always be two points behind you, no matter how fast you are. Rocket will automatically win if you don’t, so shoot everything in sight. The Achievement will be unlocked when you destroy the nest holding the Magus.
Missable: ββ
Details: During your adventure, you will have to pay a variable fine of between 7,000 and 9,000 credits, depending on your dialog choices with Ko-Rel. You will automatically receive 12,000 credits during your adventure. There is no other way to earn a significant amount of money in the game. If you either spend too much money in Chapter 6 or choose not to pay the fine when the game suggests it, you will miss out on the achievement.
During your visit to the market in Chapter 6, be careful when interacting with children as they may steal your money. To avoid having to replay the game, refrain from spending any money in Chapter 6. This will not affect the 65% completion rate for the entries in each category of the Galactic Encyclopedia. Above all, be honest. Pay any fines to maintain good behavior.
Tips: In Chapter 6, you have the opportunity to earn 1,000 credits. You can do this by playing along with the market mastermind and informing him that it is a scam. However, a second attempt will result in a loss of funds.
