This guide is all about helping you explore the magical world of Lumina, a fantastical realm filled with different areas waiting to be discovered. Created by Lumina’s own inhabitants, this guide provides insights and knowledge about each region without giving away any spoilers. It’s designed to assist you when you’re stuck or curious about Lumina’s secrets. That being said, I recommend experiencing Faerie Afterlight for yourself before relying on it – because the real magic happens when you explore the world yourself!
FAQ
Q: I’m stuck in Ashen Sanctuary 🙁
A: (hint) The Ashen Sanctuary has two main entrances, one from the east, and one from the west. Find both. Full solution in Regions!
Q: Can I play the game after fighting the final boss?
A: Yes.
Q: I can’t figue out the True Ending 🙁
A: (hint) Remember your cartographer friend? Meet them again. More in Endings!
Taffy Reef
Navigate through it’s twisting corridors up to the local Titan’s den.
A lonely weaver who’s warm embrace scars the passersby.
Fighting Dinchara works on a loop – She’ll attack you with falling objects and regular hitbox damage. When you damage her enough, Wispy-controlled platforms will appear on the arena, letting you climb up and break out a structure to damage Dinchara.
Repeating this 3 times will end the fight.
Kimo receives his power for defeating the boss. Wispy gains it from puryfing the fragment.
Kimo’s ability: Spider’s Legs (Wall jump)
Wispy’s ability: Luminous Beam (Projectile)
Celeste Bathyal
Navigating Celeste Bathyal’s can be tricky for those heading out for the first time. Use faerie magic to control the local fauna, and your newfound experience from Taffy Reef, to travel to the temple of Lucentia at the peak.
A devotee of Lucentia and a teacher to those looking for the light.
This fight will be a step up from your first boss encounter. Buy life talismans in the shops in Taffy Reef and Celeste Bathyal if you’re struggling.
When Notia starts digging, you can hit the blocks in the air to throw them back and damage her. Occasionally, Notia will initiate a move with a warning area – the attack is *much* larger, so keep your distance!
Kimo’s ability: Beetle’s Horn (Dash)
Wispy’s ability: Nothing
Sonata Glade
Navigating the waterways shows to be a challenging task. You’ll have to traverse gates and internal clockworks to progress.
Descending into the deepest parts of Sonata Glade for any breathing travellers wll require them to find a set of Fish Fins – talking with locals can prove resourceful.
Acquiring Fish Fins
(hint) Find two fluffy fishermen.
A wise leader and an inspiration to Lumina’s scholars.
In the first phase, hit Thoram’s cocoon from underneath. You can bounce the falling debris back at him.
Next, the water turns toxic – escape to the platforms above. Note that you can use Wispy to move the platforms. It can be hard to escape the water bubble if you’re not used to the swim mechanics yet, so I recommend dodging while standing on the platform nearest to Thoram.
Next, the water level rises and Thoram exposes his wings. It’s easy to take contact damage at this step. At this point, you can also pogo on his lower body. Occasionally, water will flood the entire arena, and Thoram will conjure explosive fish to chase after you – dodge them until the water level goes down.
Kimo’s ability: Moth’s Wings (Air jump)
Wispy’s ability: Aurora Blast (bomb)
Roseatte Thicket
Any pilgrims willing to climb the Thicket – or venture into it’s depths, for that matter – should be prepared to fight off dangerous fauna and maneuver over long falls. Your faerie magic will be essential here.
Tip: Hold directional buttons to alter your trajectory on the catapults
Reaching the Titan of Roseatte Thicket is challenging due to the devotion of her protectors.
(Light hint) Rescue a missing father.
(Stronger hint) Find the jail in the upper settlement, and visit the reunited family.
Solution
1. Rescue Havii from the jail right below the upper settlement
2. Find Hanii in the lower settlement, and get the catapult repair kit
3. Fix the catapult to the right of the upper settlement
The locations you need to visit, in order.
A local diety with a hunger for power.
Stand on a platform, until one of Quinn’s tentacles hits it – hitting them damages Quinn. If a platform gets hit twice, it gets destroyed.
After Quinn falls and gets up, she will destroy the two outer platforms. After this, she will alternate between a half circle laser scan of the arena, and an energy ball attack – you can hit the energy ball back to Quinn, which is easiest to do from the center platform.
In the final phase, only one platform will be left standing, and Quinn will scan the whole area with 2 lasers, switching between going clockwise and counterclockwise. This is the hardest part of the fight, but I recommend hitting Quinn from the platform instead of trying to pogo on top.
Kimo’s ability: Plant Root (Grapple)
Wispy’s ability: Luminosphere
Ashen Sanctuary
To reach this Titan, you will have to use experience from your entire journey.
(Light hint) The Ashen Sanctuary has two main entrances – east and west.
(Stronger hint) Your journey took you through one of them – you have to backtrack.
Solution
To reach Lou, you need to conquer both Sonata Glade and Roseatte Thicket, and find your way to Ashen Sanctuary through both of these regions.
In Roseatte Thicket, use grapple to move red blocks, and Wispy’s luminosphere to open the energy gate. In Sonata Glade, use Wispy’s aurora blast to complete the swim puzzle and open the 2-key gate.
Left: Roseatte Thicket entrance, right: Sonata Glade entrance
A ruthless Master to his people and a devotee of Kradyrev.
Hit Lou to take down the scales, then Grapple the exposed bones to hurt Lou. If you Grapple enough of them, Lou will refresh his scales. Lou can occasionally shoot projectiles at you
After you shed enough of Lou’s bones, he will change the arena into floating platforms, which are movable with Grapple. He will then position himself in one of the top corners and aim a laser beam at you – having a platform between you and Lou when he shoots will let you avoid it easily – otherwise, the fight rules remain the same.
Aurora Blast, Wispy’s bomb ability, is especially useful in this last stage.
Kimo’s ability: Snake’s Skin (teleport to Luminosphere’s position)
Wispy’s ability: Moonlit Lotus (Glide)
Polar Solium
Traversing this city in the sky would be neigh impossible for outsiders, save it for those with fairy help.

. . .
As falling ash slowly climbs onto the pink blooms in this forgotten, locked away land, you’re standing before your final challenge, as inherited from Talya. Face your origin and unseal the darkness within.
Something feels… missing…
I have to find it.
– Kimo
Note: this section contains spoilers, but not for the endings. Don’t read further if you haven’t ascended the Polar Solium tower yet.
Obtain the keys to the Abyss.
(Hint for step 1) Talk to Talya in Polar Solium after reaching the top of the tower.
(Hint for step 2) Gather all collectibles in an area and talk to Talya.
(Hint for step 3) Find all collectibles, in all regions, to obtain all 6 keys.
Find the doorway to the Abyss.
(Light hint) This journey, in particular, is very circular.
(Stronger hint) Explore the area from before you met Wispy.
(Solution) There’s a hidden room, right behind where you start the game – in the bottom left corner of Taffy Reef. Go behind the hand made of darkness.
Enter the Abyss.
(Hint) Interact with the corpse a few times to pour Sal Alirana and grow the flowers. You need all 6 keys to enter the Abyss!
The rest of this journey will be pretty clear very soon. Good luck!
Tonn’s Quest
– Tonn
Tonn is a yam shaped fellow, who you’ll meet on your journey through Lumina. Follow his journey to get the Here All Along achievement.
Note that the list below is chronological, which means you need to meet Tonn in location 1 before he’ll show up in location 2.
First location – Celeste BathyalMap: On the opposite side from the shop.
Second location – Sonata GladeMap: On an island in the corridor leading to the Lucentia fragment.
Third location – Roseatte ThicketMap: In the western path connecting the two settlements.
Fourth location – Ashen SanctuaryMap: Right next to the Celeste Bathyal exit.
This part contains spoilers for Tonn’s story. Find Tonn in all locations first!
Tonn’s journey revolves around his missing daughter, Elle. When you meet Tonn in every location, and see the cutscene, you’ll receive the achievement.
If you’re still confused as to Elle’s whereabouts – look at the hints below.
(Light hint) Elle is back home.
(Stronger hint) Find the white flower near the rockslide.
(Solution) This is Elle. Whether she’s dead and buried, or whether Tonn has always been delusional about his daughter being a rock, is up to interpretation.
Endings
…You don’t seem to understand the current situation.
– Wispy
This section, obviously, contains spoilers for everything before you reach Polar Solium.
Note: You can still play on the same file after getting an ending.
Complete your journey through Lumina by climbing the Polar Solium tower and defeating the master of darkness, Kradyrev.
To get this ending, don’t turn back if prompted.
This section contains spoilers for the boss fight itself.
Phase 1
Spike barrage
Kradyrev repeatedly throws targetting spikes at you.
Dash away from the spikes. Important to Watch out for spikes which already hit the floor.
Hand hit
Giant hand hits the ground.
Jump around the hand and pogo on top to hit.
Spinning wheel
A spinning collumn bounces around the arena.
The further you are from it, the faster it moves. Spikes pop up from the ground, and an aimed spike attack targets your movement. When the wheel stops spinning, hit it – watch out for contact damage.
Platforms
Tracking discs attack you while platforming.
Touching a platform starts a timer for it to disappear, and flying discs chase you around. Hit the discs away – I recommend pogoing on top of them. Getting high up fast will help.
Phase 2
The platform disappears and upstream winds carry you up. Use Wispy’s Glide ability to traverse the arena vertically.
Kradyrev will alternate between two attacks:
Tracking discs
Flying discs will chase you around, then gain blades and resume the chase. Your opportunity to hit is when the disc pauses for the first time, as well as when it stops spinning with blades. Pogo.
Targeted spikes
Spikes spawn in a circular pattern around you and shoot one after another. Focus on vertical movement.
To get this ending, find your origin and face the voice from your visions.
(Hint) To get this ending, turn back upon meeting Sylphy and return to Talya.
(Stronger hint) Complete Talya’s quest to unlock the True ending. More in 4. Talya’s quest!
This section contains spoilers for the boss fight itself.
The fight with Kradyrev will gain an additional phase. Look in the normal ending section to find more information about how to beat the first two phases.
Phase 3
Hit the evil heart in the center of the carousel.
Avoid occasional projectiles and beware damage from traversal. Focus on getting to the center as fast as possible and pogo on the evil heart.
Hunting Spots
Use these marked locations to complete your beastiary, study Her light’s fauna and earn a worthwhile catch.
For hunters and warriors, these ground will provide ample opportunity to master your combat.
Achievement: Yaass, slay! – Kill 100 enemies
Taffy Reef pathway
A corridor with a couple of low threat enemies, near a checkpoint. Doesn’t provide much dias.
Roseatte Thicket depths
A room with 4 enemies with a nearby checkpoint. Completing a single cycle is long enough for the first enemy to respawn. A prime dias spot.
For Faries wishing to learn and practice their physic ability in low danger.
Achievement: On Your Mind – Control 100 enemies
Celeste Bathyal hall
A single low threat enemy near an energy gate. Trivial to avoid hits, and easy to get to.
Roseatte Thicket depths
Two enemies right next to an energy gate. Higher danger and requires some traversal, but it’s nearby a Dias spot.
Scouted by Titan Quinn’s subordinates, this spot is a favourite for local hunters, famous for it’s high-worth prey.
Archievement: Arias of Dias – Earn 1000 Dias
Roseatte Thicket depths
A room with 4 enemies with high dias drops, closeby a checkpoint. Completing a single cycle takes long enough for the first enemy to respawn.
