Welcome to our guide for World of Final Fantasy! This walkthrough will assist you in navigating the game and achieving all of the achievements. We have also included Maxima in this guide to enhance your gaming experience. Let’s dive in and discover all that the World of Final Fantasy has to offer!
1. Introduction
2. Notes
The chapters will come before each section of this guide, with the exception of this one, Tips and Maxima DLC.
To clarify, there is nothing missable in the game, be it achievement or mirage, so you can play at ease.
To move through this guide, use the Guide Index tabs or use the Ctrl + F buttons and type what you want to search for for convenience. For example, if you are interested in the chests, type 253 and scroll to check; the same for Mirages, Mirajewels, Mementos, etc.
In each chapter (if it had several parts, it would go in the first), you will find the following table of information.
Chests: 31/253
Miniventure: Who Watches the Watchplains?
Intervention Quest: The Girl Who Forgot Her Name / Where Art Thou, Smoochy-Poo?
Achievement: The Power of Fantasy / Battle Aficionado / Sweet Revenge
– Chests: The chests that appear there are the total that can be obtained in each chapter. In the next chapter, those from the previous chapter are added, for example, if in chapter 1 we find 15 chests, that will be the amount that will appear for that chapter. If in chapter 2 we find 16 chests, they’ll be added to those of the previous chapter, with a total of 31 chests appearing in the second.
In any case, for each chest I will put enumerations like [45/253], the first its number and the second the total that is in the game.
– Miniventure: In the game there are a series of quests that will be given to you by NPCs. The requirements are to complete a chapter, talk to someone, have completed a previous quest, etc.
The quests that appear here are those that we can do. If they give us a quest but we can’t do it because we don’t meet the requirements, I won’t put it here, I will leave it for the chapter in which it can be done.
– Intervention Quest: I’ll put it in this guide, when I mention it as IQ. They are quests, but these will be given to us by a specific character (so as not to give you spoilers). The requirements will be the same as miniventure: complete a chapter, talk to someone, etc.
– Achievement: In this game there are a number of achievements. As I said before there is no missable achievement. Those that appear in this table are those that we can obtain in a specific chapter.
Please let me clarify one thing on this last one. When it comes to getting achievements, yours do not have to coincide with those in this guide. Some of you can get it before those mentioned, since each one has a way of playing.
For those who have problems playing this game, because the icon created in steam doesn’t work and closes soon, in that same file we create a shortcut of the game icon and place it on the desktop (that’s what I did).
If you need to configure the graphics of your game, as soon as you start playing you will see the following comment:
So it is better to access your library on steam and access local files:
And we click on WOFF_config, confirming once we have chosen the options:
Edit: Added Maxima After Postgame. We will continue from this point. There is nothing to lose if you want to start again; except for a type of item only available in New Game+. Check New Game+ section for more info.
About this, I was debating whether to include it or not, since I don’t have this DLC. But I will add some information except the chests, which I will leave for later once I decide to buy this DLC.
FYI, there is no achievement in Maxima; achievements are for the base game only. If you need information about Maxima’s content, check out its section in this guide.
I have already mentioned it in the guide, in some chapter, but I will do it here as a warning. Seed, this item, grant abilities or stat enhancements to the player’s Mirages. On a Mirage’s Mirage Board are blank spaces used for Ability Seeds. When a certain kind of Ability Seed is placed, the Mirage can use abilities that it wouldn’t otherwise be able to use; or be granted with a stat boost, elemental or status resistance, or other passive ability. The player can change Ability Seeds already placed with different types, although the previous ones will be DESTROYED when the player confirms the action.
Before using one, make sure you won’t regret it. Later you can buy it in a shop, but not all. I went through the game without using any, until reaching the end of the game because there is content that will force you to use it.
When you complete a board you’re given the choice of an ability for a mirage. Silver star when you complete a type, if you use transfiguration on that mirage and complete their another board you will get a Gold star.
Keep in mind that once you choose an ability, you won’t be able to change it for another, it’s permanent. The game gives you a warning. If you have any doubts, you can cancel and wait later (if you enters the board again, you will be prompted to choose again).
You can always catch the same mirage and assign different abilities to it. But there are many mirages to Lvl up, so it’s best to check the bosses and more complicated battles (The Coliseum) to know which mirages to use and what abilities to assign them.
About this I want to mention that the MIMIC BATTLE that you find when opening a chest counts towards the total chest count. While I was doing this guide, I had obtained the achievement of opening 100 chests (Treasure Hunter) but I only had 97, so 3 battles counted towards that count.
It may seem like a hassle, but it’s better to face the Mimics that are in the chests and thus avoid a headache figuring out which chest we still need to open.
In the Maxima version, when you beat the game, there is an option that tells you the chests to get from each map. But remember. in that version there are more chests, but the chests for achievements are only the ones in the base of the game.
In Settings you’ll find the following content to facilitate players according to their way of playing. I’m not a fan of using these options, except Disable Encounters, since it will help you in Poscript because the mirages are too strong and can kill our characters, and fleeing becomes complicated, forcing us to spend Healing items .
3. Maxima DLC
If you decided to purchase this DLC, and you don’t know what its content is, here is the information about it:
- You can now carry 12 Mirages instead of 10.
- An item called “Treasure Search” is unlocked after clearing the game, which makes finding treasure chests easier.
- Lots of rare items have been added, mainly battle-related.
- New Game+ has been added.
- You can listen to the song “Innocent” from World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo in Theater Mode.
- The “Sandstalker” minigame has been made easier to play.
- Catching the three starter Mirages (Fritt, Bablizz, and Zapt) has been made easier.
- Hauyn can join the party after clearing the game.
- Enna Kros has been added as an extra boss battle.
- An EX Dungeon in which Garland appears has been added.
- The Immortal Dragon of Darkness appears. An enemy that appears at the beginning of the World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo manga, it is one of the Exnine Knights. It is even stronger than Brandelis .
- You can fight Brandelis again.
- A “Nightmare” difficulty option where even small enemies are significantly stronger has been added.
- New, fully-voiced Champion Intervention Quests have been added.
- A secret ending has been added.
- You can battle Marilith as a boss character in an EX Dungeon.
- Avatar Change: By obtaining the “Champion Stone,” you can transform into legendary Final Fantasy characters in battle. Each character has their own battle background music and skills.
- Fishing Minigame: A minigame where you can fish with Noctis has been added. You can even reel in a Leviathan.
- Hauyn’s Archives : Characters that first appeared in World of Final Fantasy have “World of Final Fantasy (Apocrypha)” written in their “First World of Origin” field in the encyclopedia. These Apocrypha can be read as Hauyn’s Archives , which are scattered throughout the game world and must be gathered.
- New Mirages and Champions have been added to the encyclopedia. Since there is a little more story after clearing the game, additional descriptions have also been added to Lann, Reynn, and Hauyn’s entries.
All this information was obtained in the following video on YouTube: ワールドオブFF マキシマ発売直前スペシャル ~そうだ、グリモワル行こう!~
4. Updating Maxima in WOFF
1. When you open the game you will see the following message.
2. You do not have to worry. If you have started a game, you can transfer your data but to do so a new file will be created when Maxima is installed.
3. If we click on transfer game, the option to search for the save will appear. Once you find it, accept it.
4. Once done, you will exit the menu and the game will restart again with a change in the cover.
5. When you open the new menu, there will be the New Games+ option. You can decide to continue your current game or start a new one; that’s your choice.
Nightmare difficulty is only available when using New Game+. It can be changed whenever you want and at any time.
5. New Game +
The following information I post comes from a wiki, so it saves me time while I work on this guide. This information is for you to take into account before using this option.
New Game+ is included in the Maxima version, unlocked on the title screen menu after the player clears the Postscript on their original file.
Upon selecting New Game+, the player is given a description of what does and does not carry over from their current save file, and a confirmation to overwrite their original file to start the game over in this mode.
What carries over includes the following:
– Lann and Reynn’s level.
– Up to 200 Mirages in the Prism Case. Whatever Mirages the player had in their previous file retain their level, Skill Points, transfigurations, and Mirage Board parameters: spaces activated, Ability Seeds placed, and mastery bonuses.
– Gilgamesh and Mel.
– Gil obtained.
– Battle items, prisms and mementos, and Ability Seeds.
– Coliseum Tickets
– The “Secret Memory” Key Item, used for the Intervention Quest, “A Bridge’s Woes”.
– The Treasure Tracker(s)
– Mirajewels and Champion Jewels.
– Any tips from the Tip Jar.
– The Mirage Manual, and its progress.
– Characters from Who’s Who.
– Scenes from Theater Mode.
– Play time from the player’s previous file. Time elapsed on a New Game+ file is added to the previous file’s original playtime, in the new file.
The player can obtain more than one copy of certain items in a New Game+ file, such as the Treasure Tracker and any Mirage mementos the player has acquired in their previous file (excluding the Gigantuar and Gigantrot mementos).
What does not carry over:
– Almost all Key Items (excluding Mirage mementos)
– The Teleport Stone
– Seraphones
– The items from The Coliseum used to unlock Lann and Reynn’s final two Mirajewel slots: Rat Tail, Griffin’s Heart, Doga’s Artifact, and Unei’s Mirror.
– Champion Medals and the Champion Gauge.
– Eldboxes
– Arma Gem Arma Gems
– Character information in Who’s Who.
– The Fast-travel Windway feature in Nine Wood Hills.
– The full list of wares at the Chocolatte Mart. Status inducing items that were once available at the start of a regular file are not available until later in the New Game+ file.
– Completion progress of matches at The Coliseum, Normal and Time Attack.
Certain unique Mirages (such as Tama) don’t carry over at the start of a New Game+ file, but once acquired will retain the levels and SP from the previous file. The player is given a new set of prisms at the start of the game for most unique Mirages for them to capture again (if they have actually captured them before), excluding those that join the player already in prismariums. The Mirages’ Mirage Boards will also be reset, removing any Ability Seeds placed in Blank Spaces, but with the restored SP, the player can refill the Mirage Boards again and collect duplicate Mirajewels and even change the Mirages’ permanent mastery bonus. The Mirages that must be reacquired are the following:
– Tama
– Serafie
– XG
– Omega God
– Ifrit★
– Shiva★
– Ramuh★
– Leviathan★
– Bahamut★
– Odin★
– Diabolos★
– Master Moogle
– Master Cactuar
– Master Tonberry
– Mecha Chocobo★
– Boko
– Ifreeta★
– Shivalry★
– Ramewl★
– Quacho Queen★
– Miney
– Mo
– Princess Goblin★
– Ultros★
– Undead Princess★
– Marilith
– Lich
– Syldra★
– Shiva-Ixion
– Garland
The exceptions to this rule are Gilgamesh and Mel, which if already acquired in the original file, do not need to be reacquired again as the player is not given their respective prisms (unless the player has dismissed them from their Prism Case).
The following new features are added in a New Game+ file:
– A Nightmare difficulty level that makes enemies and bosses much stronger, while rewarding the player with much more EXP, gil and better items. This difficulty level can be switched back to the normal difficulty at any point in the Config menu, by going to the new “Difficulty Setting” option. Coliseum battles are not affected when Nightmare difficulty is activated, however. This difficulty level becomes available after the player vanquishes the Gimme Golem in Wellspring Woods.
– A Read Ahead Mirajewel Read Ahead Mirajewel that significantly reduces random enemy encounters when equipped, moreso than the Stealth Mirajewel Stealth Mirajewel. It can be found in Wellspring Woods.
– Items from the Chocolatte Mart that were only available as the player progresses through a normal save file are now available at the beginning of the game, and are the following:
– Stronger healing items: Hi-Potions, X-Potions, Ethers, and Hi-Ethers.
– Gold Hourglasses and Tranquilizers.
– All low-tier elemental battle items.
– All low-tier elemental, Cure, and Esuna Ability Seeds.
– Gysahl Greens
Also included in the Chocolatte Mart are the following items that could not be bought at all on a normal file:
– Half Mega-Potions and Half Mega-Ethers, rare items that can only be obtained from Maxima version exclusive enemies or Time Attack Battles at the Coliseum, on a normal file.
– A new item: the Toy Hammer, which inflicts nonlethal physical damage.
– Twelve “WOFF Apocrypha” excerpts located throughout Grymoire.
6. Tips
1) Remember to read the tutorials that appear throughout the game. If you forget something specific, access Tip jar from the game menu.
2) Always stay stacked. The game tells you that there is an advantage to not stacking, but that’s only if you have to spam items (which has never happened so far). You are exponentially weaker when not stacked, will have almost no defenses and no offensive power. Just stay stacked.
3) If your stack is wobbling, use the item that stabilizes it (Wobblestopper). Do not ignore the wobbling. This item might be relatively rare and expensive at the shop at the beginning (500), but when it comes to the point you’ll actually need it (3rd or 4th area) monsters will start dropping it frequently.
4) You get very limited SP points (Skill Points) for each mirage (you start with 3, and gain 1 per level), so plan out which skills you want to buy ahead of time.
5) If you press the Options button this opens the Libra menu for the enemies assuming you’ve already used Libra on them before. Extremely useful and saves a lot of time.
6) Open the map, then press the details button (check the bottom right) to see how many undiscovered mirages are left.
7) 90% of dead ends have treasure.
8) Constantly be aware of what your weaknesses are, and never stack two mirages who have the same weakness. The -50 or -75 can break you extremely quickly.
9) Use Offensive Ability seeds on your magic users in their blank spaces. Blank spaces might seem useless at first when you don’t have enough seeds, but very soon you will be able to buy them at shops.
10) Don’t waste money on potions, wobblestoppers, or status effect healers; these will drop like crazy from enemies whenever you need them. There are a lot more important things you should be using your money on like Ability Seeds and status items. Status Items (items that you use to inflict a status on an enemy) are important because some mirages require you to inflict a certain status effect on them before you can imprism them, and more often than not you wouldn’t have the required ability yet to do that. I.e. you have to use these items.
11) Libra is your best friend, use it frequently. If you use it on a stack, press L1 to cycle through the stats of the individual mirages found in the stack. Also, any enemy you have previously Libra’d you will not need to use Libra on again, simply Libra the new enemy next to them and on the Libra screen you will be able to scroll (with L1 and R1).
12) Don’t grind until you get to the save point of an area. There is always a save point before a boss, and surrounding it are usually the strongest enemies of the area, so grind there, not before. If you die before you’ll have to restart from the beginning of the dungeon which can be very tedious.
13) Every area has a secret area which isn’t really hidden, but usually a separate path or found in a further route after defeating the boss. These secret areas all have rare (and potentially one-of-a-kind mirages you can’t get elsewhere). Always save before you get to the secret area because once you approach their overworld sprite you will be prompted into battle.
14) Stroll is practically useless as an ability. Only have it on one Mirage, it’s more than enough and not worth wasting a skill point on.
15) Mirages that look alike but appear to have palette swaps can actually be transfigured as many times as you want into each other after you unlock the other one. For example: If you have a level 10 Mu, and you just caught a level 1 Reaver Mu, you can transfigure your old level 10 Mu into a Reaver Mu.
16) If you’re at level 20, and you transfigure your mirage into the alternate version of itself, the abilities will not carry over. With that in mind, you will have all the skill points up to that level to use on the alternate version.
17) In one of the earliest dungeons in the game which looks like a cave, make sure you imprism the copper golem mirage; and then also train it. Or if you’re not going to use it in your main party (but you really should, it’s the first Medium sized mirage you unlock); at least keep it in reserve because it is one of the first to evolve and will learn a very useful overworld skill.
18) Get the little black wolf (Black Nakk). He has a very useful overworld skill you’ll need.

Any information, items, mirages, chests, etc., regarding Maxima Upgrade will be in the Postgame section. I had planned to do it from the beginning but I bought this DLC when I already finished this game, plus it requires making many changes to the guide, and those of you who have already made a guide know that there is a word limit per section.
Prologue: Awake at Last
Chests: –
Miniventure: –
Achievement: –
When you control the character, and being in the square, move towards the station, indicated on the map (North Promenade).
Once inside, head to the cafeteria (Nine Bean Coffe) to trigger a cinematic.
Once is over, you will have a battle tutorial. You can use the classic or basic battle menu, as you prefer, but remember in classic mode there’re options that there aren’t in basic.
Note: Press RB to move fast the time battle.
Again another cinematic after this battle tutorial. From here we will make our way to another place.
Chapter 1: Land of the Lilikin
Chests: 2/253
Miniventure: –
Achievement: Gateway to Adventure, Mirage Keeper
The moment we pass to the other side of the portal, we will get our first achievement.
Now move until we catch our first mirage (or maybe second since we got Tama). Another tutorial to learn how to catch mirages.
Once finished, you can check the data of this mirage and abilities. Each time you capture one, you will have the opportunity to give it a name (not required, but however you prefer).
Continue moving until you find the path blocked for a Gimme Golem. With this we give way to another tutorial on Strolling, which we need to find a item (lusterleaf) near the bush to your left, to give it to Gimme Golem.
Continue moving until you reach the first fork, where you will find your first chest, on the left, with 3 Potions [1/253].
Continue straight until you reach the second fork, but move to the right to collect the chest with Phoenix Down [2/253].
Go back and continue along the path. At that point, you will be forced into a fight where you will have to lose to explain another tutorial.
Back to the city, go to the North Promenade to meet a new character.
She is Chocolatte (Chocolina), from FF XIII-2 , a shopkeeper, where you can buy different items in her shop. She will be here every time you come to the city. Now we return to the portal to continue, but we will meet another character.
Her function is to store the mirages that we can’t carry, because there’s a limit. She will give you for free a new mirage, plus a Seraphone.
Head to Silver Park where you will see a cinematic activate and you can save. The moment you go to the save point a tutorial will activate. Go to the portal and head to Wellspring Woods.
Without further explanation, head to the exit of the map, but remember to catch the mirage that we’re missing on this map: Mu. If you feel like it, you can try to Lvl up a little.
The moment you advance, the intro of the game will jump.
Chapter 2: Foretold by Prophecy
Chests: 3/253
Miniventure: –
Achievement: –
There is no map of this area, so continue moving forward until you reach a station, in order to reach the city. The moment you enter the train a cinematic will activate.
Once in the city you’ll battle against some mirages.
After the fight a cinematic will activate. Now you will have to go to the Castle to talk to someone. But first of all, go down to the square, transform one of the protagonists into the big version and open the chest to get Occult Fan, Issue 1 [3/253].
As a warning note, I recommend that you talk to the NPCs that you will encounter throughout the game. Some will give information and others some items. You can’t leave the city, so enter the castle.
A cinematic will activate where we’ll meet Princess Sarah, from FF I . When it finishes you can save the game.
Now go to the square and talk to this soldier to carry out our first quest or miniventure: Best Helm in the Realm. Going down the path a cinematic will activate.
Talk to the npc you encounter before leaving Cornelia. He will give you an Antidote. Leave the city.
Chapter 3: Old Acquaintances
Chests: 10/253
Miniventure: Best Helm in the Realm
Achievement: A Helping Hand
Continue straight ahead and at the fork take the path on the right, and open the chest that contains 3 Potions [4/253].
Continue on the path to enter the cave.
The path here is linear. Before going up the ramp, open the chest on the right, obtaining Libra mirajewel [5/253]. Equip it to the character who doesn’t have Tama, since she has Libra ability.
Take your time to get new mirages because you’ll need them later.
Follow the path until you reach the next chest contain a Sleekstone [6/253].
Check the next area with Chocochick because its a Treasure Trove.
In the next Gimme Golem, give him the Sleekstone you got from the chest. Before going down one of the ledges, go to the bottom to open a chest that has 3 Potions [7/253].
Go down the first ledge to open a chest containing a Potion [8/253]
Go up the ramp and head to the next area.
In the next area there is a puzzle that must be solved and to do so we need a Copper Golem, which you can find by moving in that area. Once you have it, put it on the altar to activate the path.
The main path is on the left, but first go straight ahead to solve the next puzzle and open two chests with Earth Hammer [9/253] and Phoenix Down [10/253].
These are all the chests that we can get at the moment. If you decide to open the menu to complete the quest (Adventure Log → Miniventure), without having to do it in person (The only problem with doing this is that you’ll miss the conversation with the NPC, so you can take it into account for future miniventures.), you will get the following achievement.
Continue the path to the next room.
This is the path that we can’t open at the moment, but we’ll come here in other moment which I will indicate in the guide.
Continue the path and save the game, in addition to automatically healing yourself.
Get ready, because a complicated fight is coming if you haven’t Lvl up enough and have the right formation.
You have to choose who to fight from among the 3 mirages. I recommend Shiva because one her abilities will be useful for another map. But anyway, choose the one you prefer.
Have a character being big with Mini Gnome and Copper Gnome, and the other small with Tama (make she learn cure). You can also use potions if you need them. With one attack and with the other Heal. Try to have your HP at its maximum because if you take too long to defeat him/her, he/she will activate his/her special ability, not just once: Diamon Dust, Judgment Bolt or Hellfire (I was Lvl 5. If you’re having problems, take your time to lvl up a little).
Once the combat is over, and after the cinematic, you will receive a corresponding mirage of the species you faced: Shiva → Bablizz, Ifrit → Fritt or Ramuh → Zapt
Don’t worry if you only get one now, you can get the other two later. After a short cinematic, and before leaving using the portal, check that you have all the mirages on this map.
Once you have finished what you need to do here (like checking the shop and your apartment), go through the portal towards Cornelia.
Try to buy Loco Weed because you’ll need it to catch a mirage. Stock +3 items.
FYI, in the the apartment you can check the Mirage Manual, Who’s Who and play Minigames (Not available at the moment, but we will comment on it in this guide when we can play one)
Chapter 4: A Legendary Warrior
Chests: 19/253
Miniventure: –
Achievement: The Saviors of Cornelia, A New Challenger
After cinematic, go down the square until you meet a black knight, near stairs. Once finished go out Cornelia and take the left path on the fork.
At the moment you will only be able to catch one mirage (Black Nakk). Talk to soldiers to receive items, in some cases, or fight Goblins.
Open the chest on the right side to get 3 Eye Drops [11/253].The soldier on the lelf will give you Eye Drop.
Follow the path until you reach a fork; Take the left path to open a chest with Girl’s Diary, Entry 1 [12/253]
Continue the path and help the soldier fighting against 3 Goblin. You will get like reward 3 Potions.
Cross the bridge and behind the rock you will find a hidden chest with 2 Ethers [13/253[.
Go up the stairs and go through to the next area.
In this area, first take the path to the left to help a soldier, facing 3 Goblin. Like reward you’ll get 3 Potions.
Move to the right to open a chest with Cure Seed [14/253].
Go back and take the path to the right up the stairs; help the black soldier fighting 1 Goblin, 1 Goblin Guard, 1 Red Cap and 1 Red Captain.
Go up the stairs and behind this small fort you will find a chest with 3 Eye Drops [15/253]. Continue to the next area.
Continue straight ahead and at the fork take the path to the left to open a chest with 2 Phoenix Down [16/253].
Take the path to the right, go up the stairs and help the soldier (2 Goblin and 1 Goblin Guard). You’ll get 1 Ether.
Continue the path and save at the save point. From there, move along the wall on the left until you reach the next chest with 3 Potions [17/253].
What would have happened if you didn’t do what I said? Well, you would activate a cinematic of a new character: Warrior of Light, from FF I , and with it the fight against the boss of this area. But it doesn’t matter because after the fight you could grab the chest (but it’s nice to have some extra potions before fighting).
It’s not a difficult battle but a little long if you’re low Lvl. Try to Lvl up (I was Lvl 7), and try to have a mirage with the Protect ability learned and equip Tama to heal when you need it. Start with Protec for both characters and first kill Bahamutian Commander. When fighting Giant Goblin, be careful with his ability, because he can make your tower fall (only 1 group).
Once finished, you’ll get the following achievement:
Save and don’t go through the portal. First open this chest which contains 2 Wobblestopper [18/253].
Now go down the stairs to go to the next area.
In this secret area we will find a chest that has 10 Ether [19/253], but also the next mirage that we can catch. You’ve to heal him to catch him (try at least 3 times). You’ll get Black Chocochick Memento.
Take your time to catch all mirages on this map. Once finished, go through the portal.
Once here, before going to Cornelia, go to the North Promenade to watch a cinematic.
The coliseum is currently available now, so take your time to learn the rules and perhaps challenge some battles. There’s 19 at the moment (Check Coliseum section for more information).
When you’re done, battling and catching new mirages, head to Cornelia.
Chapter 5: The Champion Who Saved Grymoire (Part 1)
Chests: 31/253
Miniventure: Who Watches the Watchplains?
Intervention Quest: The Girl Who Forgot Her Name, Where Art Thou, Smoochy-Poo?
Achievement: The Power of Fantasy, Battle Aficionado, Sweet Revenge
Before we continue with our adventure, we’re going to take a detour to do something else.
Once you arrive, watch the cinematic.
At this time you’ll be able to do Intervention Quest, i.e., a new type of missions other than miniventures or buy Protecto’s Emblem. To do IQ or buy PE you need Arm Gem. In this guide will be focus in doing Intervention Quests.
- The Girl Who Forgot Her Name (Reward: Ether x3) [Enemies: Bahamutian Soldier, Goblin x2]
- Where Art Thou, Smoochy-Poo? (Reward: Hi-Potion and Princess Goblin★ Prism) [Enemy: Princess Goblin★ (3610 HP)]
Doing the first IQ will get you the next achievement:
Once finished, go to the outskirts of Cornelia, but make sure to buy some Flash Bomb (+3) or Dark ability from Float Eye. We’ll need it to catch the next mirage. Make sure you unstack your towers, because they can die easily. When you catch her you’ll get 45,000 EXP.
Finished in getting her, go to a save point and transfigure Copper Gnome to Mythril Giant and give points to Smash. Do you remember the rock in Nether Nebula? We’re going to take to detour to get more chests. Remember to have mirage with Ice, Fire and/or Thunder spells.
When you are close, the rock will break.
If you have Float Eye, teach him Flutter, or use another mirage that learns it and continue your way.
In this part we’re going to take 3 chests. The first one is this, which has Mega-Potion [20/253].
The next ones contain 2 Mega-Ethers [21/253] and 2 Mega Phoenixes [22/253].
In this part you can catch: Bablizz, Fritt and Zapt. The encounter rate is very low, but they’re found here. Be careful, because mirages here are stronger. If you need to heal, you can take a break at the save point and come back here again.
While I was escaping, in order to catch these 2 mirages that I was missing, this achievement skipped me, regardless of whether it was escaping or fighting. I was escaping to avoid Lvl up my characters too much.
If you’re done, head back to Cornelia and take the train to continue our adventure.
Chapter 5: The Champion Who Saved Grymoire (Part 2)
Among the mirages that we can catch here, there is one that we can’t because we need Elixir. Another one of them needs the Oblivion condition.
Follow the path, and at the intersection, to the right, we will find our first chest with 2 Remember Herbs [23/253]
Take the path to the left and at the end you will find a chest with Phoenix Down [24/253].
In the left, you need a mirage with sizzle Ability to open a chest with Thunder Seed [25/253].
Now on the right you will find this chest with 3 Gold Hourglasses [26/253].
Continue the path until you reach the Murkrifts. The fight is against 4 Sharquals (Lvl 13). To catch one you need Fire spells.
You’ll get the next achievement:
From there, go back a little to the left to open this chest with 2 Wobblestoppers [27/253].
At this fork, take the path to the left, then to the right, and just to the right you will find a Treasure Trove.
Take the left path and at the next fork, head right to open a chest with Remedy [28/253].
Turn around and continue along the path.
To the right you will find a save point; save if you need it or to change mirages (Reverse Mu can learn Lethean Punch, which have Oblivion effect). But we’re going to continue to the left to open this chest that has HP+ Seed [29/253].
Turn around and take the path up where we must burn a blocked path to go to the secret area.
To get to the secret area, follow the directions I give you or follow the path of light (You can also consult the Maps section of this guide).
Take the first left exit down.
Now take the exit that is on the far left.
Head to the top right exit.
In this last section, top left.
Go to open this chest to get Girl’s Diary, Entry 2 [30/253]. You can try to fight that mirage to get at leat a Magic Jar Memento + Magic Jar Prism.
Don’t worry if you kill him. When we get a Elixir, we can catch him. Return to the path to the exit of the forest, where the save point is (the path you must take is marked on the map). Get ready, because a battle against the next boss is coming.
Your first objective is to defeat Yuna quickly because she has healing and buff abilities. Valefor is easy to defeat. When they stack, they’ll use Energy Ray, which make about 400 DMG. (I was Lvl 19 because I tried to catch Princess Goblin and got ton of EXP).
Once finished you will get Valefor Memento. Continue the path to open a chest with Teleport Stone [31/253] and speak to the NPC what will give you Pick-Me-Up.
Before moving forward, let’s take the opportunity to do some quests. Head to Cornelia.
Talk to this npc to activate the quest: Who Watches the Watchplains?
Once you finish, we can go to the Coliseum.
FYI, if you win 3 matches in the Coliseum, there will be a 30% chance of a match against Shiva and Ifrit appearing (The Nebula Nitwits). Win or lose, you will have access to that fight whenever you want (and their Prism).
Our objective (if you think you are not ready, you can leave it for another time) is to catch both to unlock more combat in the Coliseum, but remember the moment you catch both (Shiva and Ifrit), that combat disappears giving rise to these 3: “Hot temper, Warm Heart”, “The Ice Sculpture Collector” and “The Responsible One” (Lvl 55 each one). You can get Ramuh and his Memento trying to catch him (Yes, he has a lot of HP but can be captured since you don’t have him and only need to attack with thunder spell 2 o 3 times). Forget the other 2, because you have to defeat Ifrit and Shiva to get their memento.
These 2 battles will also be available: Forest Fauna 1 and Forest Fauna 2.
Once you finish we continue with the story to Ice region and new chapter, but have ready items or abilities to catch new mirages: oblivion, blindness and light ability. Also bring many Eye Drops item plus mirages like Copper Golem and Mythril Giant (You’ll need +100 Earth for a puzzle).
Chapter 6: Solace from the Ice
Chests: 40/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: –
As soon as you move forward, enter the inn that is on the right to take refuge from the cold.
Once inside, open the chest on the right: Rename Prism [32/253]. Take the shiny object: Warlock’s warmer. After talking to the innkeeper As the name of the place indicates, Sherlotta from FF Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time , a new character joins the group to heal us after a battle, Refia, from FF III .
Go outside and move towards the new area of this map.
You will find a portal to return to the city. Up ahead you will find a ice block that you’ll need to melt with someone with Sizzle and Stroll.
First of all, take the path to the right, melting the ice block to open a chest with 2 Phoenix Down [33/253]. Go back and take the path down.
We find our first puzzle to solve, that is, the ice is slippery and you have to get to the exit. I am going to leave a map with the solution of the path to take and some directions to follow.
- Stand at the puzzle entrance (E) and move to the right.
- Now move down and then to the left. From there move down until you reach S1.
In this area you will find a chest with Blizzard Seed [34/253].
- Go back to S1 again, and from there move up.
- Then move to the right to melt the ice and open the chest with 3 Potions [35/253].
- Now move down, right, up and right until you are at the exit (S2).
As soon as we enter we’ll have a battle; you can’t catch this mirage now.
Once finished, take the path below until you reach an ice block. Melt it to open a chest with 3 Wobblestoppers [36/253].
Go back and take the path to the right until you reach our second puzzle. I also leave the second map and directions to follow.
- From the entrance (E) follow the direction up, right, up, right and down until you reach S1.
- First of all, take this detour to open a chest with Defense+ Mirajewel [37/253] following these directions: Down and left. To return right and up.
- Returning to S1, take the path to the right and open the chest that contains a Squishsparkly [38/253]. As soon as you advance a little you will enter a fight.
- When you approach the Gimme Golem he will ask you for the item you got from the previous chest.
- Once located at point GG, follow these directions: Down, left, down, right and down until you reach S2. Take the path below to reach the new area.
Before moving forward, to your left you will find a Treasure Trove.
- Now we have to go to the entry point (E) and follow the following path: left, up, left, down, right, up, right, up, right and up (S1).
- Before moving forward, we will take the detour to S2: down, left, down, left, down and left.
- Break the rock with Mythril Giant and solve the puzzle. Now we have put a large point to save us moving on the ice.
- Now we have to move to the right to open the chest that contains an Elixir [39/253]. Now we can catch the mirage we miss in the previous map. But let’s finish this map first.
- Now move to the left of this puzzle and go up little by little until you reach S3 and enter the new zone.
It will be a long battle, but luckily you only will fight 1 Holy Dragon and catch the other (You need 3-4 Banish with White Chocobo). This mirage has 5,390 HP. Halfway through the battle he will use Regen, and be careful with Holy because it does a lot of damage. Did you remember to buy Eyes Drop? You’re going to need it because he will blind you several times with Flash and will use sometimes Dispel (Main team was Lvl 20, except White Chocobo, that was 8) . Once finished the battle you’ll get Holy Dragon Memento.
Return to the previous area.
There is nothing to indicate. The path is easy so you should go to the right area of the map and exit through S1. Get ready because a boss fight is coming.
Once you enter, remember to save up and use mirages you need for Boss.
He’ll use regen when low on health. Kill the mobs except one or he’ll call for help. It’s a easy battle.
When you finish the battle, take the right path to open this chest with 3 Ethers [40/253].
Go back and take the path to the left to face a Murkrifts (6 Mini flan, Lvl 15). Try to kill some or they’ll unstack your group before you try to catch one.
Take your time to catch the mirages in this map, excep Left Claw which can’t be obtained for now You can get him in Big Bridge (Chap. 16) or here, but in Slip ? ? ? (Postscript) .
Once you finish we’ll do various things in other places.
First go to Forest lake and from here move to the secret area, since it is shorter to get there. You just need to use the Elixir we got and catch him. If you’re lucky you can get like reward a Elixir or Megalixir.
Three new battles are available: Beastly Burden 1 (Lvl 17), Beastly Burden 2 (Lvl 37) and Hunters of the Ridge (lvl 37).
Back here again, it’s time to defeat him. He has 8,300 HP. If you have problems, you can Lvl up a little more or leave it for another moment. Although in this guide my Team was Lvl 22 to defeat him.
Once finished here, we return to Icicle Ridge (S4), and when we leave that map, we’ll be in Ice Region. Continue the way to reach the city.
Chapter 7: The Thane and the Knave
Chests: 41/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: –
At this point you will have to move around the city and talk to the NPCs who have an icon on their heads. But don’t forget that there are also 2 chests in this city (which one we can get in this chapter). Take the path south to the right.
To the south you will find a chest with Occult Fan, Issue 2 [41/253]. Do you see that graffiti on the wall next to you? Remember it, and in that order, for later. Return to the main road again.
At the moment you can’t open the chest that you see in the distance because the path is blocked. When you finish talking to the NPCs, a cinematic will activate.
Before going up the stairs there is a magazine to read near the wooden staircase (left side). Prepare your team because there will be a fight against a boss.
You don’t need any strategy. Hit and heal when you need to. Be careful when he try o unstack your towers.
After the fight there will be a long cinematic and you’ll get the item: Magic Monocle. Save up and the moment you go north we’ll be in the next chapter.
Chapter 8: Buccaneer Blues
Chests: 62/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: The Ice Bridge, Never Cross the Boss, A Grudge That Won’t Budge
Achievement: Mirage Collector
Return to Nine Wood Hills and enter The Girl’s Tearoom to do new Intervention Quests.
- The Ice Bridge (Reward: Solid Frigicite x2) [Enemies: Shiva★]
- Never Cross the Boss (Reward: Undead Princess Memento x1 and Holy Torch x2) [Enemy: Undead Princess★]
- A Grudge That Won’t Budge (Reward: Metalliskull Memento x1 and Spider Silk x2) [Enemies: Metalliskull x3]
Once finished, go to Sherlotta’s Solace.
Outside you will find to Undead Princess★.
Since you have her Prism, you can catch her. The combat will be complicated just like with the Goblin Princess★. The strategy to follow is the same, although now you need light ability (White Chocobo). Once you catch her, you will get 45,000 EXP, but remember that your characters will increase several levels. You decide whether to do it now or later (I was Lvl 22, with this battle I Lvl up to 25).
Catching her (or another mirage) will get you the next achievement:
Once you’re done, head to the coliseum.
There’s a new battle now: Local Ghoul (Lvl 37).
Once done here too, go back to Saronia.
Talk to the NPCs, with an icon on their head, to find a ship. Afterwards we will have to go to the dock, but first open this chest to get Girl’s Diary, Entry 3 [42/253].
Before continuing, you will need mirage with Sizzle, and blind and bersek ability/items. Also some that have fire ability. There will be a puzzle so you need a mirage with water resistance (+50).
Continue your way to docks (take the stairs on right side).
To move through this area, you will have to use cannons like this.
Just after reaching the other side using the first cannon, we will find a chest to fight a Mimic battle [43/253].
When you reach a fork, take the left path to reach a chest containing a Water Seed [44/253]. Go back and take the next cannon that is on the path to the right.
In this puzzle you need mirages with more than 50 water resistance. Once the water level rises, go back taking the cannon and cross the floating wooden planks to go to the next stop of the pier.
Approach the ship on the right to open this chest with Strength+ Seed [45/253].
At the next fork, take the right path first to open this chest with a Swirlshell [46/253]. For the moment ignore the bell next to it. It’s part of a puzzle but we’ll leave it for later. Don’t forget the Treasure Trove here.
Do you remember the drawing on the wall in Saronia? It is related to the bells in this port. You have to activate it in order to activate a hidden zone: Alga > Clam > Fish
Head to the second ship and take the next cannon. Once you land, ignore the Murkrift and continue to the right. Activate this bell and ignore the one below it.
Continue the path until you reach a raft to use flight and open this chest with 2 Phoenix Down [47/253].
Go back and take the cannon to go back again, but this time to activate the first bell we saw on this map (next to the clams).
Now take the ship’s cannon again and activate the third bell.
To reach the secret area you must defeat this Murkrift.
Once inside, first catch this mirage (you need bersek) and then open the chests later. Before you star to fight, try to heal your characters, there will be 6 mirages which can inflict bersek. If you got him, you’ll receive Kupicaroon Memento.
Chest on the left side: 2 Holy Torches [48/253], 5 Water Spellstones [49/253], 5 Phoenix Down [50/253], 3 Ethers [51/253] and 2 Haste Stones [52/253].
Chests in the middle: Elixir [53/253] and Turbo Ether [54/253].
Chests on the right side: 2 Remedies [55/253], a fight with Mimic battle [56/253], 5 Star Curtains [57/253] and Phoenix Pinion [58/253].
Once outside GS, go to the Gimme Golem to open the path, and in the fork go to the left to open a chest with 5 Fish Scales [59/253]. Continue the path to go to the next area.
At the fork take the upper path and you will see two cannons. Open the chest nearby to fight another Mimic battle [60/253]. Take the right canon.
Once here, use fly to open this chest with 3 Potions [61/253], and go back.
The puzzle it’s the same than the previous one. Go back and take the left cannon.
Move along the platform until you reach the chest with Swirlshell [62/253].
In order to take the other path of the fork you have to go to the puzzle to activate it again.
When you are here, open the path and take the opportunity to save because a boss battle is coming.
Once inside you will have an easy fight followed for a cinematic meeting to Faris and Syldra, from FF V .
Don’t worry about this fight because it’s not programmed to win, despite putting the stats of this boss. After the cinematic comes the real boss fight.
It’s the same battle like in chapter 7. The difference is that you don’t have to defeat him alone. Lower his HP as much as you can, and in the end you will receive help.
After this cinematic we’ll move on to the next chapter.
Chapter 9: The Low Seas
Chests: 62/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
In the cinematic at the beginning of this chapter we will meet Quistis, from FF VIII . Save up and we’re going to the following places.
There’s new stock in the shop to buy.
Three new battles are available: Catch of the Day 1 (Lvl 17), Catch of the Day 2 (Lvl 37) and Kupirate Krisis (Lvl 40).
When you finish everything you have to do, return to the ship.
Once you arrive, talk to the character to get on a new ship.
Watch the cinematic to see that you have arrived at a new place. Take the time to save at the portal and take a mirage with water ability ready to catch a mirage that is attacking another.
Once you have saved the little mirage and after watching the cinematic, you will have to ride this Adamantoise to get to the other side where you have to get to. As a recommendation, try to avoid the enemy mirages because they are a bit strong to fight them (Mega Sharqual make a lot of dmg).
When you pass two Mega Sharqual you will meet this new character: Rikku, from FF X .
Go slowly and without haste; Wait for Mega Sharqual to pass by. As you get to the end, they will go faster and sometimes change direction.
Once you reach Rainbow Shore you will pass to the next chapter.
Chapter 10: Too Warm a Welcome (Part 1)
Chests: 80/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: A Duo of Three, Underdog Day
Achievement: The Cranberry Knights
Before continuing with the adventure, go to open this chest that contains an Elixir [63/253]. Save up in the portal and we will to do several things.
Go to the Shop and buy Fire, electric and ice items. You will need them to catch mirages. You can use a mirage too, but it will be to good to have them in your inventory.
The following two fights will be available: Mountain Mirages 1 (Lvl 20) and Mountain Mirages 2 (Lvl 40).
There’s three new IQ, but you can only do one: Underdog Day, A Duo of Three and Treasure Island, Ahoy!
Choose the mission you prefer, in this guide we will do A Duo of Three.
- A Duo of Three (Reward: Phoenix Pinion x1) [Enemies: Battle 1 (White Nakk x1, Goblin Guard x1 and Black Nakk x1), Battle 2 (Cockatrice x1, Right Claw x1 and White Nakk x1) and Battle 3 (Ahriman x1, Goblin Guard x1, Black Nakk x1 and Cockatrice x1)]
Completing the IQ done in this guide will activate the following achievement:
If you’re done and ready, return to Rainbow Shore.
There is nothing to do here, since we have opened the chest. Continue to the next area.
At the fork, take the left path to open a chest with 5 Frigicite [64/253].
Go back and take the path and you will reach this part. Keep in mind that on this map there will be one way paths, forcing you to take another path, either by jumping or flying.
Go down, at the next fork go left and then right to open this chest with 3 Hi-Potions [65/253].
Take the other path and fly to the other side. Move forward a little to go down and open this chest with 2 Phoenix Down [66/253].
Go down again and head to the next area.
At the fork take the left path and use fly. On the other side you will face a Red Dragon (you need to do Crit to catch him). At the end you will find a chest with 3 Wobblestoppers [67/253].
Go back and take the other path. Just on the left side, in a small cave, you will find this chest with 4 Frigicite [68/253].
Continue the path until you reach a large descent. First take the left descent and go down once more to open this chest with 3 Ethers [69/253].
Go down the second slope to reach this chest with 2 Remedies [70/253].
Continue the path until you reach a fork. Take the left path and use flight to open this chest with a Cure Seed [71/253].
Go back and take the other path to go to the next area.
The path to take is blocked by a Gimme Golem. Go right and at the first fork (it’s not really, but we’ll take it as one) go right and use fly to reach this chest with Remedy [72/253].
Before reaching the second fork you will find a path on the left. There you will face Red Dragon and in the background there is a Treasure Trove.
At the second fork, take the path to the right and fly to reach this chest with 2 Hi-Potions [73/253].
Before taking the left path, head straight ahead to confront Red Dragon. Continue the path until you reach the secret area.
Before advancing, prepare your team. You need to deal damage with fire, electric and ice elements to the mirage in this area to catch it. You can also use item, as I mentioned before when buying in the store (As mirages you can use Fritt and Kaguya Flan, for example).
Once finished, you will get Cerberus Memento. Go to the end to open a chest with Fluffiflower [74/253]. Get out of this area.
Take the path on your right, which goes around this part back to Gimme Golem, but before jumping open the chest right next to that drop point, which contains 4 Dragon Scales [75/253].
Drop down and go to the Gimme Golem to remove him. Move forward until you reach the area with several descents. Follow the instructions to avoid having to repeat this part.
Go down to the left to open this chest with 2 Wobblestoppers [76/253].
Go down to the right to open this chest with Phoenix Down [77/253].
Go down to the left to open this chest (and last of this descent) with Fire Resistance+ Seed [78/253].
To leave this area, you have to go up again, but this time always take the descent that is on the left.
Chapter 10: Too Warm a Welcome (Part 2)
At the fork take the path to the right and fly to reach this chest with Hi-Potion [79/253].
Go back and take the other path until you reach the save point. Save and prepare because the boss fight is coming.
Be careful with Flare Star+ because it does quite a bit of dmg. You can try to blind him to evade his physical attack.
Watch the scene after the battle. You will meet Tifa, from FF VII . You will also unlock a new medal.
Continue straight ahead to exit this map.
Before going to the point on the map, take a detour to the right and enter the town.
Talk to this npc to get a miniventure: Needle for Speed, but we can’t do it for now. I will comment later on when to do it.
Open this chest, next to some barrels, to get Girl’s Diary, Entry 4 [80/253].
We’re going to do several things before continuing with the story.
Two new battles are available in the coliseum: Team Red 1 (Lvl 24) and Team Red 2 (Lvl 44). You can get Flammantoise here (the first battle mentioned, although enemy inflicts oblivion and you’ve to kill one group and unstack the other).
We have 3 Arma Gems, so we can do another IQ. As before, choose the one you prefer, in this guide we will do the following:
- Underdog Day (Reward: Bomb Core x2) [Enemies: Ifrit★]
Once finished, we continue with the adventure.
Get out of town
Go to the marked point on the map, don’t deviate to the exit on the right; For the moment we won’t do anything there.
Talk to this NPC, who you will meet along the way, to obtain Smelling Salts.
Once you enter Nibelheim, you will move on to the next chapter.
Chapter 11: Crimson and Azure
Chests: 89/253
Miniventure: The Birthday Present
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Crimson vs. Azure
After watching the cinematic, approach the NPC to activate a quest: The Birthday Present. Near that npc is a chest to open, which contains 3 Earth Hammers [81/253].
Approach the character who has a dragon to talk to. She’s Rydia, from FF IV. Before leaving, talk to that character again to see another cutscene.
On Valley Seven you will need a mirage with Stroll + Chill (for example, Bablizz) and Smash, and others with Fire and Poison abilities or items to catch new mirages. Also you’ll need a Potion-X or Elixir to catch a mirage in the secret area.
Head to the other exit, northeast, we didn’t take on this map.
Before you advance, have fire mirages ready because you will need them to solve a puzzle (+150 fire resistance, like Affrite, Black Nakk and/or Red Dragon).
When you advance to the first platform, take the path that leads down because there is a hidden chest with Agility+ Seed [82/253].
Move to the left where the puzzle is, and when you solve it a path will open. Go down the path and move to the second puzzle. Use the same combination as before.
Open the chest on the other side to get Jaggesaw [83/253].
Return to the center and from there move to the right. It doesn’t look good but the path is blocked by a Gimme Golem.
Give him the object and continue along the path until you reach the fork. Head up and your mirage will freeze the lava path.
Go north and open this chest with 2 Hi-Ethers [84/253]. Go back and head to the next area.
As soon as you arrive, a cinematic will be activated. The way to move is blocked, so we have to go to the northern exit.
In this part we will need to use the Smash ability at several points. First start to the north and obtain an item from the Treasure Trove.
Go down the platform that is a little above to go down and open this chest with 2 Hi-Potions [85/253]
Go back and move to the right where there are 3 Smash points. To the north there is nothing.
Head south, down the ramp, to break the rock and open this chest with 4 Bomb Fragments [86/253]
Go up the ramp and head to the right, break the rock and open this chest with a Phoenix Pinion [87/253].
Continue through the northeast, but before meeting the character, prepare your team because a battle against 6 Bomb is coming.
Go back to the north of the exit to C2, and go to the left where there is a chill point and when you go up you will find a Murkrift. Have a mirage ready with poison or item to catch one Memecoleus. (Be careful because they’ve a lot of HP and they can use Doom and Blind you).
Solve the puzzle and advance to the secret area.
To catch this mirage you need to use X-Potion or Elixir, since you have to heal a lot at once. It will take you several tries to catch him(I don’t think we’d be interested in spending a lot of healing items on him).
Done here, and gotten Phoenix Memento, return to C2.
After the cutscene, head to the right to reach this chest with Phoenix Down [88/253].
Go back and advance along the other path to reach the last area.
Move forward and save at the save point. Move to the right to open this chest with Hi-Potion [89/253].
Get ready because a boss fight is coming. Have mirages ready with resistance to fire damage and use water abilities.
Use water attacks against him. As he receives damage, he will grow and once you defeat him he will explode, so use Shell ability to reduce damage. He’s vulnerable to Sleep. (I was Lvl 28).
Once defeated, you’ll get King Bomb Memento and the Key of Flames, a scene will activate, moving to the next chapter. Oh, and let’s not forget that we unlock the following achievement:
Chapter 12: Ribble Jiggle Panic
Chests: 93/253
Miniventure: Hot Hot Hunting
Intervention Quest: Treasure Island, Ahoy!, I Hate Lightning!
Achievement: A Medium Awakens
After cinematic, Reynn will separate from the group so it’s up to us to control Lann and catch the next mirage.
Once you catch the mirage, you’ll meet Snow, from FF XIII, and her companion Shiva-Ixion . This character will accompany us on this map and help us create new paths.
But before continuing, we’ll take the opportunity to do several things and stock up on various items.
Once here, go to the shop and buy Spider Silk, Lethean Chime and War Gong. You will need them to catch mirage, or use Mirages abilities.
You need mini flan prism to catch a specific mirage in secret area, so train one if you got one to get his prism.
Three new battles will be available: Boms Away 1 (Lvl 26), Boms Away 2 (Lvl 46) and Lord of the Kaboom (Lvl 47).
At this moment we will do two IQs:
- Treasure Island, Ahoy! (Reward: Adamantoise Memento and Dragon Scale x2) [Enemies: Mimic x3]
- I Hate Lightning! (Reward: Mimic Queen Memento and Elixir x1) [Enemy: Mimic x1 and Mimic Queen x1]
We have three Arma Gems to spare, but we’re going to use them to buy a character, since we can’t do more IQ until Chapter 17, allowing us to unlock a new achievement. Choose the character, among the 3 available, that you prefer.
Talk to the next npc to do the quest: Hot Hot Hunting. Go to Valley Seven and Kill some mirage there.
Once finished, we return to The Windswept Mire.
Cross the ice bridge to reach the next area.
If you pass near the ridge on the left you will have a fight against a group of Flan.
Further on, head to the far left to open a chest with 4 Chimeric Wings [90/253]. But first you will have a fight against another group of Flan near that chest.
Go back and stand where the star symbol is to create another ice bridge and cross to the other side.
On the other side, head right to create another ice bridge to open a chest with Aero Seed [91/253].
Go back. If you move a little to the center you can create another bridge that leads to the save point. When you cross the bridge you will have a battle (pass near right side).
From the save point head towards the puzzle, but go over the edge on the left (south) to have another battle. Open the chest to get Remedy [92/253].
To solve the puzzle, you need water resistance. You can use the combination used in the guide as an example.
Before you go to the secret area, fight a battle when you’re going to pass the next area, go to save, prepare your mirages and items, and head there.
Here you will find two mirages to catch, but it’s better to try only one now, because it has its difficulty. If you manage to catch one but you want to get the other, you have to exit the map and re-enter again. Let’s talk about the mirages:
- Malboro Menace: Everyone knows this monster and knows what its special attack is, right? If you have already catched the normal Malboro, you will already have experience because the condition to catch is similar (Oblivion and Slow status to use). As note, this mirage has counter, so sometimes if your capture fails you can take damage.
- Flan Princess: This can be a headache. Need to have a Mini Flan Prism before anything else. To catch her you need only one character: Lann or Reynn, and kill every member. In that moment you can cacth her, but pray she doesn’t use her skill to cause Bersek status to you.
They are strong and do a lot of DMG. The strategy is to unstack your towers and continually attack them until they unstack. You can use Phoenix Down to revive characters. From here go after Malboro since he is the strongest (in HP and DMG)…and for his ability.
Once you get him, you need to have Lann or Reynn in defense and play who to kill or heal. You can use Slow to give yourself time to prepare your strategy or sleep to have more turns… and pray that you get her soon or she will kill you or you’ll have to start again to catch both.
I don’t recommend it at first, unless you are very patient. I was Lvl 29, on my fourth attempt, I was lucky to have a character alive to activate Flan Princess’ capture condition. I resurrected everyone, captured her first (before she lost her effect) and then used items (Slow Down) on Malboro Menace until capturing him was easy…. What a headache with his counter. I had to use Protec and heal my characters.
Once you catch them (which you’ll get Flan Princess Memento and Malboro Menace Memento) or decide to wait later (because it’s a little difficult), return to the previous area.
Head to the save point to create another bridge and fight the boss of this map.
This boss has over 10K HP, but he’s weak to all elements, so use spells to kill him.
When the battle is over, leave through the exit to head to the last area. Also you will unlock a new Champion Medal.
Before leaving the map, head along the edge on the left until you reach the point to create a bridge. There you will find a chest with 2 Remedies [93/253].
Continue your way to the exit to the desert to move on to the next chapter.
Chapter 13: Castle in the Desert
Chests: 101/253
Miniventure: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-I, Needle for Speedle, Her Jiggly Highness
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Winning Streak, Treasure Hunter
Once here, approach the NPC, near caravan, to do a miniventure: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-I.
Speak to NPC near chest to get Tranquilizer, and open the chest to get Occult Fan, Issue 3 [94/253].
As always, we’re going to do several things before continuing.
In the shop there will be new items to buy. You can buy 3 Dragon Wings for 1,000 coins (each one) or get them in the desert. I leave that to your decision as is most comfortable for you.
Two new battles are available: The Usual Nuisances 1 (Lvl 29) and The Usual Nuisances 2 (Lvl 49).
By doing two more fights (including catching Shiva and Ifrit together) and at the Lvl we should be at (+Lvl 30) we will get this achievement:
Once finished, we return to the caravan.
Have to mirage Flan in your team and talk to the NPC girl at the back of the caravan to activate another miniventure: Her Jiggly Highness. If you got her, put her in your team and speak with the girl (if you didn’t get her, you can leave this miniventure and her capture for when you have a higher level).
As soon as we leave, the NPC that is on the outskirts of the caravan will give us another quest once the first one is completed (there’re a total of five quests): Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-II.
Proceed to the exit indicated on the map to enter Phantom Sands.
Slow is one of the abilities you will need to catch a mirage here. Go forward a little, passing by the NPC, and almost hidden by the stone wall, you will find this chest with 3 Gysahl Greens [95/253].
Near the ramp, at the bottom you will find this chest with 2 Eye Drops [96/253].
Before going up, exit through the exit below.
In this small and isolated area of this place you will find this chest with a Raise Seed [97/253].
Go back.
Go up the ramp and go through the exit on the left.
In this area (T3 and T4 too) we can find Cactuar to complete a miniventure: Needle for Speedle (need to kill 3).
Continue straight ahead and take the exit on the left.
Go down the stairs and you will find this chest with Lure Mirajewel [98/253].
Before going up, go straight ahead to reach the secret area of this map.
Near the chest you will have an encounter with the mirage of this secret area. To catch him you need to do a lot of damage (Use Water Spellstone to deal 4,500 DMG). Once defeated, open the chest to get Sphinx Memento [99/253].
Go straight ahead and exit to the right.
Do you rememeber Cactrot? Right? Well, He has low encounter too in this map, plus he can escape, so you need a mirage with No Escape. Mine was found in this area.
On the large stone on the left side is a Treasure Trove. Go straight ahead and exit to the left.
When you leave you will find a chest with 2 Hi-Potions [100/253]. Go down the ramp and take the south path.
By opening that chest you will get the following achievement:
Open the chest to get Phoenix Pinion [101/253]. Go back to the previous area.
Save your game and prepare your team for the boss battle.
You’ll fight 3 Sand Worm. They are weak to water so use water abilities. If you want a easy fight, use Water Spellstone item.
Once the fight is over, in the next cinematic you will meet Lightning, from FF XIII .
There’s not much to do here except talk to the NPCs and the character.
Watch the last cinematic of this chapter, unlocking a new Champion Medal, meeting Edgar, from FF VI and moving on to the new chapter.
Chapter 14: Lost Powers
Chests: 113/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: –
You currently have no mirage and your powers are sealed. Talk to the NPC who has an icon on his head. Speak again if you need to buy items.
Now get out of this area.
Head to the center of this area. You will have a battle, but don’t try hard because it’s programmed to lose it, A new character will come in our aid: Squall, from FF VIII . This character will give us a Eldbox, to catch new type of mirages (mostly machines and Cogna). Fortunately, unlike Prism, it can be purchased in stores (you can look at this in the Items section of this guide).
Equip the mirage that you have captured and continue along the only path to have a battle against a Seacher (Catch him).
Once you go down the first stairs, look behind it to open a chest with 9 Potions [102/253].
If you captured a Research, despite having our powers sealed, we will be able to open these doors. Open it to get a chests with 2 Hi-Potions [103/253] and 3 Electro Marbles [104/253].
Move first to the right, to fight against a Seacher and open chests with 9 Potions [105/253].
Before going down the stairs, continue left to open this chest with a Eldbox [106/253]. You can use it to catch other Seacher or Magitek Armor to have a good tower on one of the characters (S or L). We’ll get more Eldbox later so don’t worry.
It was already explained in the tutorial, you can hide and avoid fighting or fight and gain EXP for your new mirages. My recommendation is to fight, why? We will recover the powers in the next chapter, so we’re interested in being a little stronger before fighting the boss in this chapter .
Once you have decided, continue to the right to open two chests with 2 Hi-Potions [107/253] and 2 Phoenix Down [108/253].
Before taking the stairs, open the door on this floor and go down.
Go right and open the door to get a chest with 5 Phoenix Down [109/253].
Continue to the left where you will see two stairs. Go to the one on the far left.
Don’t go down the stairs yet. Head left to open this chest with Eldbox [110/253].
Continue a little further to the left to open another chest with 3 Wobblestoppers [111/253].
Backtrack to the right and go down the stairs.
Move left to find this chest with a Eldbox [112/253].
Left or right, it doesn’t matter, you will find this chest with Lightning Marble [113/253]. Open the door before going down the stairs.
There is nothing here. Continue your way to the next floor.
Save at the save point, because a boss fight is coming. I’m sure you’ll see a Flutter point on the left, but we can’t do anything at the moment. In that area there are 3 chests and a mirage to catch in that secret area.
You can’t get info from this Boss despite using Libra, but it’s estimated that he has over 3K HP. Regarding their stats, I take them as a reference with respect to other normal Death Machines. He’s weak to lightning abilities, so use mirage o items with that element to take him down.
After the cinematic you will unlock a Champion Medal. And will pass the next chapter.
Chapter 15: The Mako Reactor and the Black Mages (Part 1)
Chests: 127/253
Miniventure: The battle for Teatime – I, The battle for Teatime – II, Picking Up The Salcker’s Slack
Intervention Quest: A Friendship Forged in Figaro
Achievement: Time Tamperer, Battle Fanatic
As soon as you start you will have a battle with Shelke. Don’t try hard because you will lose.
After another cinematic, we have now regained our powers. Backtrack to the previous room (Block 9) and head to the save point to equip mirages. You need one with Fly and other with Zap for new map. Take one with No Escape too.
Once here, fly to the other side and open this chest with 2 Turbo Ethers [114/253].
To catch this mirage you need to use X-Potion or Elixir. If it takes you a long time to catch him and the capture effect wears off, don’t use another healing item, restart your game until you catch him.
Once you capture it, you’ll get Mist Dragon Memento. Go to the right to open tow chests: Occult Fan, Issue 4 [115/253] and Girl’s Diary, Entry 5 [116/253].
Move forward and continue to the next room.
Move around the outer circle to open this chest with 2 Turbo Ethers [117/253].
Behind the door on the way to the new map, in the inner circle, you find this chest with 2 Lightning Spellstones [118/253].
Go through the door to go to another map.
As always, before continuing we will take advantage of this moment to do several things. You can use the portal to travel to the following places.
At this time there will be new battles: Team Brown 1 (Lvl 30), The Reactor Pack 1 (Lvl 33), Team Brown 2 (Lvl 50), Just Another Day on the Sands (Lvl 52), Shinra’s Mechanical Mistake (Lvl 53) and The Reactor Pack 2 (Lvl 53).
If you turned in the miniventure: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-II, you will now be given a third mission: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-III. If you haven’t done so, you can leave it for later.
Once finished we continued with our adventure.
On this map it is necessary to have Zap ability. In this part activate reactor 1, then reactor 2 and activate the generator.
Before continuing, go down the stairs on the right to open two chests (one is hidden on the left): 2 Tranquillizer [119/253] and 2 Wobblestoppers [120/253].
Continue through the door that is activated on the left.
When you go down the stairs, the railing is open so move through them to reach this chest and have a battle [121/253] (Mimic Jackpot).
Keep moving along that pipe until you reach a Flutter point and fly to another area to open a chest with 2 Lightning Spellstones [122/253].
Go back and go down the stairs twice. You have to activate the reactors in order: left, south and right.
Now go up the stairs and activate the generator to open the door to your right. Go through that door.
Continue down the hallway until you come out the other side.
Go down the stairs and then go left to move along the pipe until you reach a Murkrift (Lvl 35). Defeat it and open the chest behind it to get Dazzledisk [123/253].
Go back and to the right you will find a chest where you will have a battle [124/253] (Mimic Jackpot).
Go back and move to the open door next to reactor nº 2 to open this chest with 2 Shell Stones [125/253].
Save before activating the generator, because the moment you do so a 15 min countdown will begin. In this moment some doors will close and others will open. Exit through the only door you can go through.
Pause the game if you need time to review the guide or make some notes so you know where to go, but you have enough time.
Chapter 15: The Mako Reactor and the Black Mages (Part 2)
Go left and open a chest with 2 Phoenix Pinion [126/253]. Continue along the path and exit through the only available door.
Go down the stairs and exit through the door that leads to Sector 3, on the right.
Continue straight until you reach Sector 4.
When you arrive, go through the previously closed door, go down the ladder and through the broken fence to open a chest with 2 Hi-Ethers [127/253].
DON’T go out through that door next to it. Go down there and go through the corridors until you reach the door of Terminal 2. Go through the broken fence again and move along the pipe until you reach the other side and give the Gimme Golem the object he wants.
Approach the generator and deactivate the countdown. If you go through the door above, you will access the secret area of the map.
Here there will be a battle against Gigantuar and Gigantrot. The bad thing is that they’ve over 40,000 HP, but we just have to catch them to end the battle. One need to use Haste in him, be it an item or mirage like Black Chocobo (Gigantrot) and another to apply Critical Hits (Gigantuar). Be careful because they do a lot of DMG so you will need to have a lot of HP and use Protec.
Once finished you’ll get Gigantuar Memento and Gigantrot Memento. Go back.
Go back, crossing the pipe, passing through reactor 2, go up, then to the left and then through the door at the top.
Save and before going through the door that goes to the Boss, take your time to catch Garchimacera. The chance of him appearing is very low, so it will take a little time and luck. Once you’re done, prepare your team and go through the door.
This boss is called Vivi, from FF IX , and is accompanied by 5 mobs. Start killing the mobs and then focus on the boss. You don’t have to kill him, just reduce his HP and try to catch him….
Once finished, watch the cinematic and you will get Key of Earth. You’ll also unlock another Champion Medal.
Once you regain control, go to accept two miniventures in the place you are: Picking Up the Slacker’ Slack and The Battle for Teatime – I.
Don’t go out into the desert because that will give way to a new chapter. We’re going to try to do several things, seeing that we have a portal next to us.
There’s new items to buy in the shop.
Two new battles are available now: Team Black 1 (Lvl 36) and Team Black 2 (Lvl 56).
A new IQ is available that we can do now:
- A Friendship Forged in Figaro (Reward: Remedy+ x1) [Enemies: None]
Doing this IQ will get you the next achievement:
Take your time to do miniventure now: The battle for Teatime – I (Do it in The Watchplains – B2 or B3), The battle for Teatime – II (Maloboro is rare to find, so patience. In The Windswept Mire, in Boss area) and Picking Up The Salcker’s Slack (In Phantom Sand – T5 you can fight 3 Sand Worms each battle).
Doing The battle for Teatime – I you will unlock: The battle for Teatime – II. Doing the second will unlock the third: The battle for Teatime – III.
While I was doing these Miniventure, I got the following achievement:
It’s the same when you unlocked Achievement fighting 100 times: fighting or fleing.
There’s a miniventure to do, but if you’re going to complete this speaking with the NPC, it will pass to the next chapter because you have to go to the desert, but it’s the same when you go out of Figaro Castle (You can do it through Adventure Log, but you’ll need to go to do a new one).
There’s more miniventure, but we’re going to pass to the next chapter going to the desert.
Chapter 16: Clash on Big Bridge
Chests: 135/253
Miniventure: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-II, Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-III, Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-IV, Taking Care of Bizzi-izziness-V
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Mirage Enthusiast
Take your time to do miniventure now: Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-II (If you need one more, Lvl up a Dragon Mist to get his prims. Catch one again and defeat the other with Champion Medal Sephirot, still you get one time. Reload if you don’t get the item), Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-III (You would have the necesary items to do this) and Taking Care of Bizzi-izzynes-IV (The same. You would have the items too).
We can’t do the fifth since we don’t have the necesary resources to complet it.
Before continuing, head to The Phantom Sands. At the end of this map you will find a Murkrift.
At the end there’s the Murkrift (Lvl 40). You’ll fight 3 Chrome Giant. To catch him you need to evade his attack. Take mirage with Evasion+ (have at least 2 in each tower or 2 in one tower and 1 in the other). They’ve 7,755 HP; you’ll catch one but need to defeat the others two. If you’re no stronger, try to use some Champion like Sephirot to make +3,000 DMG.
Once finished, we can continue.
Go to the point marked on the map.
On this new map, to catch some mirages, you’ll need Confuse, Counter, Earth Ability and Critical damage.
Once here, you will meet Eiko, from FF IX . Stand in the center of the platform to advance across the bridge.
But luckily for us we’ll have to walk on the right side of the bridge. Next to us there’s a portal to save or go to the city. Also you can change team too.
Go straight ahead until you reach the new area.
In this second area you will meet Bart and Boko, from FF V . Stand on the right side to jump to the bridge.
Go up straight until you reach the top, but don’t go through the next area. Take the other path to open two chests.
The first chest is located in the middle, with Elixir [128/253].
At the end of the path you will find the other one. This chest contains Stealth Mirajewel [129/253].
All you have to do is go up to the top and cross the new area. FYI, on this map you can capture Left Claw, as you can see in the screenshot.
Move along the left side, activating a minigame, in which you will have to jump over halos of light. If you don’t dodge it, you’ll face 3 Mythril Giants. You’ve to defeat 4 to activate the secret area of this map (By defeating 4, I mean those that launch the light halos, not the ones you fight when you collide with the halo).
Once you have passed the first section, open this chest with Phoenix Pinion [130/253]. Step on the red tile to go to the other side.
Open the chest with X-Potion [131/253].
While you go up and play another minigame, don’t defeat that Golem. Halfway you find a chest with 3 Earth Spellstones [132/253].
Using the tile to go to the other side, we will find a chest with 4 Protect Stones [133/253]. Continue this path and defeat the Golem above.
Once you defeat him, open a chest with Mega Phoenix [134/253]. Now go back down, use the tile and defeat the other Golem.
Once you defeat him, open the chest with 2 Remedies+ [135/253]. Continue straight to reach the next area.
Save and defeat the fourth Golem to activate the secret area. Now move to the secret area.
This mirage has 61,310 HP. It’s best to try to catch him, so use shell or Protect until its capture point glows. You will need patience to get him. Once done, you’ll get Iron Giant Memento. Now go back.
Get ready because now the fight against Boss is coming, and you surely know it if you have played other FF.
He’ll use Haste, Shell and Protect to buff himself. He has a special attack summoning two swords which he will use randomly where one of them does no damage. You can try blind him or use Dispel to remove his buff.
Once the fight is over you will unlock another champion. Before moving forward we will take the time to do several things.
There are new battles in the coliseum: Team Yellow 1 (Lvl 40), Exdeath’s Kooky Kabuki (Lvl 59) and Team Yellow 2 (Lvl 60).
While I was doing some battles and catching new mirages, I got the next achievement:
If you did the battle: Boms Away 2 (I was Lvl 39-40) you can complet the miniventure: Taking Care of Bizzi-izziness-V.
Once you’re done, return to Big Bridge to continue.
I didn’t mention it before, but if you encounter Bahamutian Soldier and defeat him, you’ll be able to catch Imp (You need Confusion Status, be item or Ability from mirage). You can get him in other map later.
In this part you can get Left Claw, but I don’t recommend it because its difficult. Description says you have to reduce his HP, but if you’re not careful you can kill him. Between unstacking my tower and attacking-healing (him) I was able to get mine (at that time he only had 50 HP). Better Transfig you Right Claw to Left Claw and capture another Right Claw.
Continue moving forward until you reach the next area.
Defeat the Mythril Giant that blocks the path and continue your path until you reach the end and finish this chapter and pass the next.
Chapter 17: Naught but Nightmares (Part 1)
Chests: 155/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: Ifrit Meets His Match, The Black Chocobo
Achievement: –
As soon as you start, go straight ahead and board the train to take you to your new destination. When the cinematic finish, talk to the conductor to get on the train.
After riding the train you will reach the other side. First of all we are going to take a detour to do two IQs. Take the portal next to you.
There are two new IQs you can do now:
- Ifrit Meets His Match (Reward: Raise Seed x1) [Enemies: Behemonster x1]
- The Black Chocobo (Reward: Hyperion Memento x1, Haste Stone x3) [Enemy: Hyperion x1]
Once finished, we return again to the Eclipsed Region.
At the moment you can only advance along one path.
I recommend that you prepare the following to get new mirages and items: Blind, Confuse, Oblivion, Dark Ability, Reflect (for example Left Claw), Regen (Mist Dragon) and Evasion. Also you’ll need mirages with thunder resistance (+100), and take one with Smash and Zap.
As soon as you enter you will see a cinematic where you will meet Cloud, from FF VII . Follow the path that character has taken to have a battle.
In this new area you will also meet Celes, from FF VI, and Cid, a minor character but in a lot of FF there’s always one with this name . When they finish telling you the story, and before we leave, go over to open this chest with Girl’s Diary, Entry 6 [136/253].
Now we can continue.
Go up the ramp on the right and activate the crane generator to remove the train and open a path.
Continue along the open path and pass by the green container. To the right (if you don’t notice it’s hidden) there is a chest with 3 Hi-Ethers [137/253].
Go back and go left, go up the ramp and go over the green container until you reach the end to open a chest with Agility+ Mirajewel [138/253].
Don’t go down the ramp and use Smash on the scrap tower to open a path.
Continue along the path until you reach a chest with 2 Phoenix Pinion [139/253].
Go back and go down the ramp. Before moving forward, stand behind the green container, which is near the ramp. There is a chest there, very well hidden, containing 3 Remedies [140/253].
Continue along the path and go to the next area.
Go up the ramp and activate the generator. It will move the ramp up. If you want to go back you just have to activate the other generator on your left to go down.
Go forward and then move to the right to reach a chest with 2 Remedies [141/253].
Go back and activate the next generator. Then destroy the scrap tower and advance.
At the next fork, take the left path to reach the next chest with 2 Phoenix Pinions [142/253].
Go back and take the other path. Again you will find another fork. Take the left path to open a chest with 4 Ether [143/253]. Go back and continue to the next area.
At this fork, continue straight ahead to reach two chests, one with 4 Hi-Potions [144/253] and the other with 3 Eye Drops [145/253].
Go back and take the other path. Activate the generator that you will find ahead.
Cross the path and take the right path, ignoring the Gimme Golem for now. Get to the next generator and activate it.
Cross the path and open the chests first. One with Wearwheel [146/253] and other with Dark Resistance+ Seed [147/253].
Activate the third generator to create a path. Cross it and open the way by giving the object to the Gimme Golem. Continue straight ahead and go to the next area.
Follow the linear path until you reach the fork. Take the left path to open a chest with 2 Remedies [148/253].
Go back and take the other path. At the next fork take the path to the right to open a chest with 3 Phoenix Down [149/253].
Go back and take the other path.
Once up there, activate the generator to open a path.
Activate once to create a path to a chest with 3 Phoenix Pinion [150/253].
Before we start moving and FYI, to the far right there are two exits. The top one leads to the Boss, but the bottom one leads to the secret area of this map.
Activate the generator on your left to lower the platform. If you want to go up, you just have to activate the other generator that will be on your right once you are down.
Continue straight ahead and at the fork take the path to the left, crossing an open container, to open a chest with Megalixir [151/253].
Take the other path. Ignore the generator next to the save point and continue moving until you reach a chest with Wearwheel [152/253].
Activate the second generator to raise a train and open a path to a chest that was at the beginning and couldn’t be obtained. Go back to that area. That chest contains Mega Phoenix [153/253].
Go back to the third generator again, near the save point, and activate it.
Give the item to the Gimme Golem who will be blocking the way. Take the path to the right to go up. Go forward a little and next to a ramp you will find a chest with 2 Phoenix Down [154/253].
Keep moving forward until you reach the end of that path to open a chest with Magic+ Seed [155/253].
Go back and get to the next puzzle. You need +100 Thunder Resistance and 11 Weight. Continue along the open path to the secret area.
Chapter 17: Naught but Nightmares (Part 2)
Oh là là! As soon as we enter we will find 4 Murkrift. But there’s a fifth that only appears when you defeat all four. We are interested in catching the mirage of that last Murkrift because he has Gravity, a useful ability to do a lot of DMG to the mirages and catch them (especially if you apply it with Faith to increase the magic DMG).
As a side note, these battles aren’t difficult can be annoying since some all can cause status ailmets like poison, sleep, blind and oblivion.
- Lvl 35 (Manticore x5). You’ll need poison to catch him (A little difficult since you have 50% to poison him or not. Try to use Bio Mirajewel too, aside items).
- Lvl 37 (Korrigan x5)
- Lvl 40 (Reaver Mu x5)
- Lvl 43 (Red Cap x5)
- Lvl 35 (Nightmare x1). You’ll need Dark ability to catch him. Be careful because he can make you sleep, and don’t take anyone with a counter because you could kill him since he has low HP.
You will get Nightmare Memento. Once you’re done here, leave this area.
Take the other path to face the Boss. Before entering there will be a cinematic.
This Boss has Regen ability, in addition to absorbing HP when attacking you. When his HP is below half, he will start calling 3 allies. Leave only 1 alive and focus on killing the Boss. He’s weak to light spells so use Banish Mirajewel or mirages with light ability. And be careful with his Dark Mysteries because it make a lot of DMG, so use Protect.
Once you defeat him, among the rewards you will get Vampire Prime Memento. Watch the cinematics and you will get the Key of Shadows, also two Champion Medals.
There’s a new battle in the coliseum, but we’re going to wait to finish this chapter because two more will be added in the next one; so go back to Tometown of the Ancients.
Continue straight ahead and enter the Library.
Take any path to go to the library.
First of all, approach this NPC and respond with: Wild Rose, to obtain a Potion.
Talk to the character with the icon on his head. Try to talk again to get more information (3 times with the metallic character and 2 times with the other).
Two new miniventures are available: The Spellstone Scholar and Mirage Pandemonium.
But we will do them once we leave the library, because by doing so we move on to the next chapter.
Chapter 18: The Fell Spell and the Quacho Queen (Part 1)
Chests: 169/253
Miniventure: The Spellstone Scholar, Mirage Pandemonium, A Dancer’s Dilemma, Scaling the Walls of Love, The Young Mirage Hunter-I, The Young Mirage Hunter-II, The Young Mirage Hunter-III, The Young Mirage Hunter-IV, The Young Mirage Hunter-V, The Young Mirage Hunter-VI, The Young Mirage Hunter-VII
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Accursed Man-thing!, A Prophecy Fulfilled
Before continuing, let’s do the miniventures from the previous chapter: The Spellstone Scholar and Mirage Pandemonium.
The first one, if you’re missing one spellstone, you can get it from The Coliseum. If you can’t get it because they are high-level battles, you can wait until later because there is a miniventure that gives them as reward.
For the second one, go to The Train Graveyard, right at the entrance and defeat 10 mirages.
If you have time, stop by the Coliseum for new battles.
Three new battles are available: Vampire Pedigree 1 (Lvl 43), The Bitee’s Biter’s Biter (lvl 63) and Vampire Pedigree 2 (Lvl 63).
Once finished, we continue with the adventure.
Take the path to the new station.
After cinematic, accept the miniventure: A Dancer’s Dilemma. You have to show Lady Mirage, for example Tama.
Before we leave, go up the stairs and open the chest, which is on the right, which contains 2 Turbo Ethers [156/253].
Talk to NPC near the portal to get Gold Hourglass.
At the bottom you will find a chest with 5 Star Curtains [157/253].
Now head to the port, north.
Talk to the NPCs who have an icon on their heads for information. And don’t forget to do a miniventure in this area: Scaling the Walls of Love.
When you finish talking, and after cinematic, don’t enter the laboratory, go to the other exit to go to the coast.
Keep this NPC in mind, because we can do twelve miniventures: The Young Mirage Hunter-I, this being the first (Try to take some mirages so you don’t have to go back and forth because we need to change at the portal).
Check Miniventure section numbers 21 to 32, to find out which Mirages the child asks you to see (You can only do up to seven quest because we don’t have eight.).
But hey, I’ll leave what these are to save you searching for it: White Nakk, Water Toad, Mimic Queen, Malboro, Magitek Armor, Manticore and Mordskull.
If you are done, go back.
Before entering the laboratory, open this chest with Remedy+ [158/253].
Once inside you will meet Shantotto, from FF XI . After the cinematic you’ll have a fight with this character, which you’ll lose so don’t try hard. After this you will be outside the laboratory.
Before we go somewhere else you will also meet Tidus, from FF X .
In this part you just have to keep going, and it’s a long walk… I mean swim. I couldn’t test if Sharqual’s Joyrider works in this part (I forgot to take him).
Once here save. If you need items you can return to Nine Wood Hills or battle in The Coliseum. Otherwise we continue with the adventure. To catch mirages here you need water and fire abilities, sleep and bravery, heal, make DMG and a lot of DMG, be mirages or items to stock.
Move forward and walk along the right wall to open a chest with Pick-Me-Up [159/253].
Continue straight ahead, moving along the wall on the left and then turn left and then south. You will find a Treasure Trove, and on the outside wall to the right a chest with Wobblestopper [160/253].
Before going up the stairs, take the outside path on the left to open a chest with 3 Lightning Marbles [161/253].
Continue your way to the next area.
Continue straight ahead and at the fork take the path to the left. Move forward a little and climb two walls (first the one on your right and then behind you) to reach the roof of the building and open a chest with 4 Lightning Marbles [162/253].
Then go down the left once to find (almost hidden by the coral) a chest with 2 Phoenix Down [163/253].
Move along the wall to reach the right and open a chest with Charmchime [164/253].
Go down and go back taking the other path at the fork. Give the item to the Gimme Golem and continue to the next area.
Go left and climb the wall until you reach the roof. There you will find a chest with 2 Pick-Me-Ups [165/253].
Go down and go along that left side to the next wall with seaweed on the wall. Go up again and open a chest with 2 Lightning Marbles [166/253].
Go down and take the bridge to go to the other side. Climb the wall to the ceiling and open a chest with Charmchime [167/253].
Go right on that path and just to the right you will find a Murkrift. I recomend to try to catch the mirages because you only get them again, one in The Crystal Tower and other in Castle Exnine.
Once you defeat it or decide to leave it for later. Continue straight ahead and give the Gimme Golem the item he asks for, and save in save point. Boss fight is coming.
Chapter 18: The Fell Spell and the Quacho Queen (Part 2)
Try to equip a Resist Sleep Mirajewel because She’ll use an ability to sleep your characters. Aside, she can heal herself too, and she’s accompanied by mobs. Use the Lightning Marbles you got here, because she’s weak a thunder or Ramuh mirage; Nightmare is other option (since he has Gravity) and Faith Mirajewel. Use bravery in Lann to make more DMG. Be careful with her Extrem Bomber Skill because it’s a counter.
If you don’t get it now, you can do it in the Colosseum. But I haven’t checked this since we got the achievement right now.
Once you defeat her you will get the Quacho Ruby and the achievement mentioned below, but the adventure doesn’t end here yet because we’ve to get the key.
Go down the stairs to watch a cutscene and follow Quacho Queen through the new path.
Continue straight ahead to reach the next area.
Continue straight ahead to reach the next area. Before reaching the save point, on your right you will find a chest with Elixir [168/253]. Save and be ready for other Boss fight.
When Boss’s HP decreases by half, he will start using his ability: Everyone’s Grudge, so be careful not to let him kill you (try to equipo mirages o mirajewel with dark resistance). Knowing their weakness to lightning element, you can unstack your towers and use Lightning Marbles to kill them with each one, this being a strategy.
(About the mobs I don’t remember exactly how much HP they have)
Once defeated, among the rewards is Tonberry King Memento and the last key: Key of Tides.
Before leaving, approach near the entrance to the secret area to open a chest with 2 Holy Torches [169/253].
At the moment we can’t go to the secret area of this map until completing an IQ. I’ll tell you when we can access here.
Once here Tidus will give you Poxyale and Antipoxy, which allows you to access the temple again at any time.
A cinematic will activate, and after that you will get two new medals, in addition to the following achievement:
Chapter 19: The Other Nine Wood Hills (Part 1)
Chests: 180/253
Miniventure: The Young Mirage Hunter-VIII, The Young Mirage Hunter-IX, The Young Mirage Hunter-X, The Young Mirage Hunter-XI, The Battle for Teatime-III
Intervention Quest: Two Different Conversations
Achievement: –
As always, before continuing we will take the opportunity to do several things. First thing, take Mega Nightsqual, Ramuh, Shiva and Ifrit to do 4 miniventure about The Young Mirage Hunter.
Take your time to buy items, we’ll need for next map.
There’s a new IQ: Two Different Conversations.
- Two Different Conversations (Reward: Confuse Seed x1) [Enemies: Gilgamesh x1]
Three new battles are available: Tonberry Tribe 1 (Lvl 49), King of the Tonberries (lvl 66) and Tonberry Tribe 2 (Lvl 69).
If you think you need to Level up your characters, not only for the coliseum but for the adventure as well, take your time to earn EXP.
You’re going to need Reflect, Light ability and critical damage. You should have most of the mirages that will appear on the next map. Also make sure you have mirages with the smash and fly ability; also mirages with Wind and Earth resistance +75 to solve puzzle.
Once here, go up the stairs to reach a new place.
Continue straight ahead and then take the path to the right of the portal to face a boss Her name is Terra, from FF VI .
Against this boss use protect and shell, the summon will use physical attacks except for its ability which can do more than 2,000 damage. Don’t be shy about using Champion Medal against the summon. Once you defeat him, unstack the tower and kill the character since he will use magic (hence the shell recommendation). All you have to do is finish off the Magitek Armor.
Before moving forward, go back to the previous map because we need to open a chest that we didn’t have access to due to the boss battle.
Go down a little and open the chest on the right, where we had the battle: Herald Report, Excerpt 1 [170/253].
Return to the tower again.
Once here, head to the stairs. If you decide to take the path below, you’ll have a battle against Kuza Beast, where you’ll get clearcryst, an item to give to three Gimme Golem that are on this path, but we only have one at the moment. This path leads to the secret area, but we’ll return another time.
So go up the stairs.
Head to the right and at the fork take the south path, where the flight point is. Open a chest with X-Potion [171/253].
Go back and take the other path and interact with the green crystal.
Head north and use smash on the glass wall to find a chest with 3 Hi-Ethers [172/253]. Now take the other path and go up the stairs.
Exit the right path to have a battle against Kuza Beast. You will get your first (or second) clearcryst.
After the battle continue along the path to open a chest with 3 Phoenix Pinion [173/253]. Go back and go up the stairs.
Go along the path to the right. You will come across a Treasure Trove. Before activating the green crystal, use the flight point and activate the orange crystal.
Head left to open a chest with Remedy+ [174/253]. Go back and activate the green crystal.
Go up the only way up.
Save and solve the puzzle with wind resistance mirages.
FYI, if you activate the blue crystal it will take you to the first floor, where the portal is, so we’ve a shortcut to this area.
Activate the green crystal and then the orange crystal to go to this area with a chest containing Mega Phoenix [175/253].
Activate the orange crystal again and go up the stairs on the left.
Head to the flight point and go up the stairs.
When you leave the stairs, open this chest with 3 Wobblestoppers [176/253].
Take the path to the left, go down a little and cross the open path to go up the stairs.
Head down the path on the right and go south to open a chest with 3 Remedies [177/253].
Activate the blue crystal to advance to the next area.
The green and orange crystals take us to different areas of this part. Don’t activate the red crystal for now. Fight the last Kuzu Beast, near the green crystal, to get the last one clearcryst.
Activate the red crystal to go up one more floor.
Head north and use smash on the glass wall to open a chest with Elixir [178/253]. Take the other path and go up the stairs.
Head along the linear path (right, up and right) to climb the next staircase.
Move to the right and then south, crossing the Flutter point until you reach two chests: Lightning Spellstone [179/253] and Ice Spellstone [180/253].
Backtrack and head along the northern path to climb another set of stairs.
Solve the puzzle with earth resistance mirages. You’ll activate the crystal below, where it will take you somewhere else to climb another staircase.
Move north and then to the right to have a battle against Kuza Kit, getting another clearcryst. Continue and go up the ladder.
Go up this linear path.
DON’T go through the portal. Save and interact with the red crystal. It will take you to the first floor, where the portal is. You already have another path open that will take you to this area.
Chapter 19: The Other Nine Wood Hills (Part 2)
Now take the path below. If you didn’t do it before, you will face Kuza Beast by getting a clearcryst.
Give all of these to the Gimme Golems that you will encounter (4 in total). And activate the orange crystal to go to the secret area.
To catch this mirage you need to critically hit him, so have Critical+ mirages equipped or use Critical Mirajewel. Be careful with his ability because it does a lot of DMG. You need 3 Crit Hits to catch him.
After the battle you will get Titan Memento. Go back to the previous room.
If you need to buy something, use the portal. Otherwise activate the red crystal.
To break the seal you have to defeat four bosses, going through the crystals that are on the left and right. The crystal on the left leads to the Room of Wind and Earth, while the one on the right leads to the Room of Water and Fire.
Check the description of the bosses in this guide and make sure to equip yourself with the appropriate mirages. You can also do it at the save point before facing the bosses.
In this guide we activate the crystal on the left.
Move to the right and activate the crystal to reach the area above. Head left and go down the stairs.
Cross the bridge and head south. Then to the right to go down some stairs.
Head south to activate a crystal and move to another area. Now go down the stairs on the left, crossing the bridge above you first.
Save at the save point and head left to face the bosses.
You’ll have a double battle against these bosses. Tiamat’s Acid Mist will slow down your characters, while Asterius will use Focus to do more DMG. Be careful with Tiamat’s Jet Fire because it has 3 elements: lightning, air and water. And the same for Asterius because Bulldozer can knock down your towers.
Once you defeat them, among their rewards you will get Tiamat Memento and Asterius Memento.
You will automatically be returned to this floor. Activate the crystal on the right.
Head right and go down the stairs.
Cross the bridge to the south. Then go down the stairs.
Go across the bridge to the south, then another bridge also to the south and then to the left. Go down the stairs.
Save at the save point and head left to face the bosses.
Again battle against two bosses. Kraken will use reflect on himself and the other boss, so you won’t be able to use spell, but you can use Spellstones. The Evil Mist from him can poison you. While Buer Accursed Gaze cause you to slow down, even blind you (but with low probability), although he has Flash. He’ll always use Fire spells like Fira and Firaga.
This battle’s not difficult. Use lightning spelltones to finish off Kraken. Once defeated you can focus on Buer using Banish Mirajewel or attack him physically (Check if he has reflect). If he blinds you, use Eye Drops.
Once defeated, among its rewards you will get kraken Memento and Buer Memento.
You will automatically be returned to this floor. Before continuing we can take the time to do several things. As we move forward we will pass on to the next chapter.
Two new battles are available: Guardians of Earth and Wind (Lvl 72), and Guardians of Fire and Water (Lvl 72).
Turn in the miniventure, and you will have completed the third for this NPC.
If you’re done, go back to the top floor of Crystal Tower again, through the red glass on the ground floor. As a warning, the moment you pass, you will have a boss battle.
Move towards the portal to see a cinematic, and thus go to the next chapter.
Chapter 20: The Crimson Prophecy’s End
Chests: 181/253
Miniventure: A Plight for Sore Eyes, Research Assistant
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: –
Go straight ahead to trigger a cutscene, and prepare to fight a boss.
You need Slow Mirajewel or mirage with this ability, beacuse his speed is too fast to withstand this battle and you won’t be able to hold on when he does several spells in a row unstacking your towers and killing you. This boss has dispelga, which takes away all the buffs you have on your characters, so don’t waste a lot of time using a lot of buffs except shell. His Flare can do a lot of DMG to one character.
Don’t skimp on using Champion Medals (at least have 3 gauges to make between 3,000-5,000 DMG), because this boss has a lot of HP. Have one character attacking/Slow him and another healing (along with Syphon Mirajewel to quickly recover AP). Gravity ability + Faith can be a good idea to use to decrease a lot of HP, but it stops being useful when he has low HP, plus it consumes 10 AP.
Once defeated, take your time watching the cinematic.
After this long cutscene, talk to Quistis .
Once finished with the second cinematic, we’re going to do several things. To go inside you need to speak with Quistis .
There are two miniventures available that we can complete, because you surely have the resources they ask for (otherwise you can buy them in the shop): A Plight for Sore Eyes and Research Assistant.
Now head to Nine Wood Hills.
Go to speak to Tama. Once done, we can do two things before returning to Balamb Garden.
You’ll have a lot of Arma Gems, so buy all Champion Medals.
Two new battles are available: FF Classics 1 (Lvl 50) and FF Classics (Lvl 70).
Once done, go back to Balamb Garden.
Before going to the Deck, go to the right of the elevator to open a hidden chest with Herald Report, Excerpt 2 [181/253].
As soon as you enter, a cinematic will appear. When it ends you will get another 2 Champion Medals. Now we pass to next chapter.

Knowing that, we must return to Nine Wood Hills, specifically The Girl’s Tearoom.
There’s a lot of Intervention Quests to do, and we should have enough Arma Gems to make them. Remember that the difficulty level also increases, so take your time if you need Lvl up you characters and mirages.

If you completed Operation Opera, you’ll get the next achievement:
If you decide to buy all the Champion Medals, you will get the following achievement:
Chapter 21: Chaos in Grymoire Part (Part 2)
WIN:
“What’s this?
You children would dare my punishment to resist?”
LOSE:
“Did you think I could be beaten by anyone so hopelessly frail?
Such madness is beyond the pale.”
After watching the cinematic, you’ll be in the temple. You have to go to Q4.
Before you start, use the save point and prepare your team. If you have Lvl up enough and have unlocked more space for Mirajewels. Once you are ready, move on to Q4.
When the cinematic ends, the combat will begin. If you are not interested in winning because you think you will lose time, you can let yourself lose, but if you are interested in winning, I leave below 2 strategies:
First strategy:
Death Searcher (S) Reynn (M) lvl 60 Magitek Armor (L)
Relevant moves/abilities:
– Gravity (spam to make a lot of DMG)
– Reaper Lore (heals Reynn stack if Lann stack dies)
– Battery Powered (lowers AP costs)
– Recover (AP recovery)
– Thunder Resist+ Mirajewel (robot mirages are vulnerable to Shantotto’s thunder attacks)
– Critical guard (lessens taken crit damage)
– Pattern Analysis (when hit, sometimes ups allies evasion)Werebat (S) Mimic Jackpot (M) Lann (L) lvl 60
Relevant moves/abilities:
– Evade & Counter
– Armor Piercer (decent DMG that bypasses defense)
– Haste mirajewel (mostly want to caste this on Reynn to help her spam gravity faster, but if she’s good and no one’s in dire need of healing, never hurts to haste Lann too)
– Syphon (AP recovery)
– Agility+ mirajewel
– Critical+ mirajewelChampions:
– Shantotto (powerful magic attack for good damage and makes for an interesting cutscene of Shantotto versus… another Shantotto! Good for when her health is real low and you need a killing blow)
– Shelke (for good healing)Items:
– X-Potions
– Phoenix PinionReynn’s the powerhouse. Lann mostly casts buffs, summons champions, heals, and occasionally chips in some damage with armor piercer. If Lann needs to be revived, I often try to squeeze a bit more support out of him by having one of his mirages use an item and then the second mirage restacking rather than restacking right away.
Second strategy:
There is no description for this strategy. I found it in a video on YouTube. You can check the first five minutes to see how she defeats Shantotto. I leave the link:
Once you defeat her, or decide to let yourself win, a cinematic will play, where we’re going to appear in Q6.
You have to defeat Cenchos. At least it’s easier than the previous battle. When you defeat him, access Q7.
Open the following chests to get: Curaga Mirajewel [182/253], Water Resistance++ [183/253] and Resist Blindness Seed [184/253].
Once finished, we continue with more things.
Go to speak this NPC to do a miniventure: The Scareseeker. You need to show him an undead mirage like Deahtskull.
Make sure you have the Warrior of Light Champion Medal on. Our objective is to defeat Princess Goblin, who are outside the city, with this Medal. But as a final blow.
Could we have done it sooner? Yes, but I forgot about it while I was writing the guide. Once you complete it, you’ll get the following achievement:
Near the Inn is Undead Princess. You have to defeat her 10 times. Take the opportunity to equip yourself with other mirages for Lvl up (She’s weak a fire and light ability, or use X-Potion, only if you’re stacked with a lot). Once you achieve this, you will obtain the following achievement:
At this time there are new battles: High Fliers 1 (Lvl 53), Robosquawk Redux (Lvl 60), Ramuh’s Pride and Joy (Lvl 69), High Fliers 2 (Lvl 73), Vanguard of Destruction (Lvl 76) and Say No to Muscleheads (Lvl 76), Succulent Succotash (Lvl 76), A not-so-sweet Ifrit (Lvl 76), Golem Destroyer (Lvl 76), Shmup to No Good (Lvl 76), Sovereign of the Sea (Lvl 76), Legacy of Ancient Ronka (Lvl 85), The Ultimate Weapon (Lvl 90) and The Bane of Organic Life (Lvl 90).
Once you’re done. Before continuing, you can take the time to Lvl up mirages and get new Mirajewel from your Boards. Against Undead Princess you can get 45,000 EXP. Other place is in The Windswept Mire – SF; Killing the mirage here give you 80,000 EXP.
If you complete a mirage board, you should get this achievement:
If you’re done, let’s continue with the adventure (Check out Part 4).
Chapter 21: Chaos in Grymoire Part (Part 3)
The following minigames can be accessed through the console in the Twins’ Bedroom.
You can get an achievement getting 5,000 or more Points. A Tips to help you:
1) Punching is faster.
2) Your priority will be the train driver because he’ll give you 10 extra seconds to your time counter. If you miss or hit another Cactuar, he’ll disappear.
3) When there are many cactuar you have time to hit 3. Don’t hit more to avoid missing.
4) Gigantuar gives a lot of points. You need to hit several of these types in order to get the achievement.
I was lucky the first time I played it. I got 5,000 points with 3 seconds left. It’s not difficult, just have patience to know where to hit.
Once you get +5,000 Points, you will get the following achievement:
To get the achievement of this minigame, in the Twins’ Bedroom, you need to win 10 times. A tips for you:
1) Put a unit that covers 3×3, to attack one of the nearby areas.
2) Don’t attack with Vivi, since he has low life. Attack with the other two (this aply only story, when going for achievement you can use him).
3) When you hit a cogna, what he will do next is to move. Be alert to attack where he has moved (for example, if you attack it, damaging it, and it appears as M → 3, it means he has moved 3 squares to the right).
4) Be careful that he doesn’t discover you, because you won’t be able to escape, even if you move to another area. In the end you will be forced to sacrifice that unit.
5) If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, continue attacking until the enemy unit moves close to you. If when you attack it appears as “miss”, that enemy unit is close, but far from your attack range (or could be in your area.).
This achievement may seem like a headache, but once you get familiar with this minigame, you’ll get used to it. Yes, although it depends on the luck of finding enemy units. The good thing is that there is a total counter, so you don’t have to win 10 times with the game open. When you play again, the amount will remain the same.
Once you get 10 wins, you will get the following achievement:
You need to run the Nebula Cave in less than 1 min. To see an extra scene and get a certain Memento, you need to complete the circuit in 1:10 min (1 min and 10 sec). Some tips for you:
1) Learn the buttons to use with each mirage (Bablizz, Fritt and Zaphr). They make a sound when they spawn, so it can help you.
2) You can allow yourself to fail one attempt, but no more, in order to get the mirage. Because if you fail, you go back a little.
3) You don’t have to get familiar with the map. You just have to move forward all the time and press the button according to the mirage.
4) In some ways, so to speak, you can cheat a little (having done a little research). Before the mirage appears, use the pause button, take your time to check the mirage, tap continue and use the respective button. Doing a test I got 51.29 sec.
In this minigame it took a long time to get the achievement. I had to practice through the sound the mirages make before they appear. In the end I achieved it in 58.92 sec, with two failures.
Once you reach the finish line in less 1 min, you will achieve the following achievement:
You need to score +3,000 Points. Tips for this minigame:
1) There’s a delay between when you release the button and the shot, for you to take on account.
2) Don’t go for the blinking Einhänders until they stop blinking.
3) There is no time limit so wait for an easy hit, but don’t take a lot of time so that you’re not hit and lose life.
4) The pattern repeats itself, so you can know when and what to hit.
It took me a lot of practice because I’m not used to this type of games. In the end I got it with 3,150 points.
Once you get at least 3,000 points, you’ll get the next achievement:
Chapter 21: Chaos in Grymoire Part (Part 4)
First of all, go inside the ship and open this chest with Mega Phoenix [185/253].
There are 6 Murkrifts on the map, all at Lvl 60. They’ve difficulty because we fight against 6 enemies, in each of them, where they’re unstacked, so they can knock down our towers. We’ll leave this for another moment.
Near Valley Seven, to the left.
Go near Figaro Castle, then move to the left and a little down.
Behind Ice Region (hidden behind the ice mountain).
Above Balamb Garden (a little up and left).
Behind The Dragon Scars (near the mountain).
Underneath Tometown of the Ancients (underneath, hidden in a crevice).
Once you arrive, you have to head north. Avoid the mirages you find, or catch them if you don’t have them.
After the cinematic press on the mechanism to reach a new map.
Continue straight until you reach the next area.
Take the left path and turn around to take the other path, which was blocked, to open a chest with Mega-Potion [186/253].
Go back and take the other path that leads to some teleporters. You will have a battle against a mirage. When you finish, activate the teleporter to reach the other side and reach another area.
If before moving to the next area, you turn along the closed path and activate a teleporter, you will have a fight against another Minotaur.
Continue straight ahead in this part to reach the next area.
Take the left path to be transported to the right on the other side. When you reach the fork, turn left to open a chest with Mega Phoenix [187/253].
Turn and take the other path. At the third fork, near the end, on the left path you have a battle with a mirage, but on the right you will be transported to the other side. Exit to the next area.
First take the southern path to reach the secret area of this map.
To catch this mirage you need to deal critical damage. You can get 110,000 EXP once catched or defeated, also Paleberry King Memento. Now go back.
Continue straight until you reach the end.
Go forward and activate the first transporter. When you cross to the other side, just behind, open a chest with Mega-Ether [188/253].
Continue straight ahead and turn right, going around in a circle to open this chest with Remedy+ [189/253].
Turn around to take the other path. At the next intersection turn left and activate the transporter. On the other side, just behind, you’ll find a chest with Elixir [190/253].
Activate the other transporter. On the other side, if you turn right and activate that transporter, you’ll have a battle. Take the other path and activate the transporter to exit this map.
Continue straight ahead to reach the end, where there’s a portal. Before activating the transporter and entering the castle, we’re going to take a detour to go to Tometown of the Ancients.
The latest miniventure is currently available: Taking Trouble by the Horns. You need to defeat 6 Minotaurs, for example Big Bridge (S2). We need to finish one more to get achievement, but we can’t do it at the moment.
Come back again to The Ends of Grymoire.
Before continuing, equip mirages with +125 Ice Resistance. Now go to activate the portal to move to the next chapter.
Epilogue (Part 1)
Chests: 217/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Mirage Scholar, The End?
You will see that there is no minimap here. One clue is to follow the flow of souls, but I am going to add pieces of maps to this part so that you can guide yourselves.
Go straight along the pipe to open a chest with Mega Phoenix [191/253].
Go down the south and right along the pipe to the next platform. Then go up to the left, go forward a little and go up to the right 3 times. In the third go along the pipe on the left and go down twice. In that second one, go down to the left and then south along the pipe.
When you go down this pipe, turn right where there is a chest with 2 X-Potions [192/253].
Continue along the path, turning along the pipe and before taking the path that leads to the tunnel, continue straight to open a chest with 2 Remedies [193/253].
Move along the pipe until you reach a platform. From there go up the wall on the left.
Go down to the left and advance along the small pipe to reach a chest with 2 Turbo Ethers [194/253].
Go back to the other side of the pipe and go down the ledge 3 times until you reach the bottom.
Move along the pipe and go up to the left, then go down again and open a chest with Phoenix Pinion [195/253].
Move along the pipe next to you to reach the next area.
Move along the pipe until you reach a platform with a north and left fork.
Head north to open a chest with Elixir [196/253].
Go back and go down the left twice.
Move forward through the pipe and take the path to the right to open a chest with 2 Remedies [197/253].
Go back and take the other path of the pipe; On the platform, go up twice.
When you go down there are two paths north and right. Go north first to open a chest with X-Potion [198/253].
Go back and take the path to the right. When you start to climb a little, deviate to the right to move to another platform and reach a chest with Mega-Ether [199/253].
Go back and continue climbing. Cross the first pipe, and in the second one begin to climb to a platform. From here, go up to the right to reach the next area.
While I was gaining EXP and transfig mirages, I got this achievement:
You could have gotten this achievement before while you were Lvl up or now since there are new mirages on this map to catch and gain EXP while battling. Save up in the save point.
That crystal will create a new path between O1 and O4, so activate it.
Additionally, on this map there will be several Sub-Bosses, easy to defeat and that will open invisible paths. You’ll get more Arma Gems every time you fight one (there are 4, including this one).
Before continuing, behind carbuncle there is a path to go down, where you will find a chest with Mega Phoenix [200/253].
From the purple crystal, take a few steps and turn left to go over the pipe.
When you advance you will see in a pipe path, which you will have in front of you, there is a chest with 3 Protect Stones [201/253].
On the new platform, go straight ahead and then on the next one you have to go down. In the next pipe you will find another chest with Remedy+ [202/253].
Go back and take the other path. Climb the platform, turn towards the pipe and continue climbing to reach the next area.
This map is easy to follow. Open the chest with 6 Wobblestoppers [203/253]. Continue moving to reach the next area.
Follow the indication on the map too. Like the previous one, the path you must take is well explained, and there’s no chest in this area.
Activate the crystal to create a transporter between this area (O7) and O1, and don’t forget to use the save point.
Turn left, along the pipe and go up 2 times. Then turn left, following the pipe and go up the platform.
At that fork, continue straight ahead and go up the next platform to fight another Carbuncle.
Once defeated, go back and take the other path to go up twice to reach a chest with 9 Hi-Potions [204/253].
Go up twice and at the next intersection take the left path and go up on the next platform to open a chest with Megalixir [205/253].
Go back and take the other path. Go up 3 times and move along the pipe. Go up again and follow the linear path until you reach the next area.
Epilogue (Part 2)
Pay attention to this area because here are the remaining chests on this map (12).
Climb to the top and don’t turn right for now. Go up one more time to open this chest with 6 Hi-Ethers [206/253].
Go back and turn taking the path of the pipe. At the north and left intersection, move left to open a chest with 2 Phoenix Pinions [207/253].
Go back and climb the platform. At the next fork, advance along the northern pipe to open 2 chests on that platform: 3 Shell Stones [208/253] and 2 Remedies [209/253].
Go back and take the other path. On the second climb you will find a chest with 2 Turbo Ethers [210/253].
Climb to the top and cross the northern pipe to open a chest with Mega-Ether [211/253].
Go back and open the chest we skipped: X-Potion [212/253].
At this fork, where this chest is, take the path south to have a battle against another Carbuncle.
Once defeated, open the chest next to him: 3 Megalixirs [213/253].
Go back to the previous fork and take the path to the right. Move forward and take the leftmost path to open a chest with 2 Haste Stones [214/253].
Continue to the left until you reach the next altar. You need 11 Weight and +150 Ice Resistance.
Go back and go down the new path and open the 3 chests: 2 Mega-Potions [215/253], 2 Remedies+ [216/253] and 2 Mega Phoenixes [217/253].
Go back and take the other path of the pipe, where the Haste Stones were, and go up to reach the new area.
Climb the platforms and continue straight to reach the end and reach a new area. Halfway there, a cinematic will appear.
Take your time to catch a mirage that is only available in this area (you need Oblivion condition).
As a suggestion, I recommend preparing yourself, be it stacking items or modifying your team, because soon there will be several battles against different bosses. Activate the crystal to create a shortcut between O10 and O1.
This is the last one we will face, getting Carbuncle Memento among its rewards. Continue climbing until you reach until you reach a save point and you will have to open a door.
The moment you arrive there will be a cinematic.
As soon as you start, use shell on your characters. The skill that does the most damage is Freezing Dust. Golden Mask will use Magic Shield for them. Use bio to poison Golden Mask and lose HP every time he attacks. The battle’s not difficult; Try to have someone with Counter when they attack one of your characters.
Before the next battle there will be a cinematic.
The strategy is the same one we used against him previously. Have a character with Slow Mirajewel. Don’t use too many buffs because he’ll use Dispelga. His spells are stronger; He has no Flare, but he has Impulse ability, and it does a lot of DMG. Remeber to have Syphon to take free AP from him.
We will see another cinematic and getting an achievement:
And with that we have finished the game…
Wait Wait no, where are you going? This is not over.
Postcript: Turn Those Corners Up (Part 1)
Chests: 217/253
Miniventure: Vestiges of Life, The Young Mirage Hunter – XII
Intervention Quest: The Demon Dyad Revealed, When the Past Still Haunts, Ancestral Acrimony, A Clash of Swords, A Bridge’s Woes, Cold, Hard Justice, A Smidge of Micro-Envy
Achievement: The Dyad’s Servants, It’s Just Justice, Transcender of Time, Nine Lives, People Pleaser, All in a Day’s Murk, Turn Those Corners Up
After the cinematic at the start of the game, you will automatically be directed here. Go to the deck.
Once the cinematic is finished, return to Nine Wood Hills.
There are new items to buy in the store. When you’re done, talk to Serafie twice. In the second she will tell you to go talk to the girl in the tea room.
Among the options when speaking with Serafie, there is Rumors. Take the time to read them, because among them is about the Pleiads you need to catch. Now got to speak with the girl without name.
As you read the rumors, there will be 4 new IQs, be sure to read the descriptions of these 4 bosses before fighting them. Accumulate items and try to be at least +Lvl 60.
- The Demon Dyad Revealed (Reward: Bahamut prismarium, Phoenix Pinion x2, Girl’s Diary, Entry 7) [Enemies: Bahamut★ x1]
- When the Past Still Haunts (Reward: Diabolos Memento x1, Remedy x2, Diabolos prismarium,
Girl’s Diary, Entry 8) [Enemy: Diabolos★ x1 (Battle 1), Diabolos★ x1 and Imp x2 (Battle 2)]- Ancestral Acrimony (Reward: Leviathan Memento x1, Hi-Potion x2, Leviathan prismarium, Girl’s Diary, Entry 9) [Enemies: Leviathan★ x1]
- A Clash of Swords (Reward: Odin Memento x1, Hi-Ether x2, Odin prismarium, Girl’s Diary, Entry 10) [Enemies: Odin★ x1]
This boss has over 148,000 HP. It seems like a complicated battle, but he isn’t despite having a lot of HP. I defeated him with characters at Lvl 63 (and I took my time to check his abilities and his HP). His best attack is Megaflare, which does about 3,000~ DMG, but if you are defending the DMG is reduced by about 1,000~. Sometimes he will use Touchdown in one of your characters.
The strategy is simple: Gravity + Faith. A few turns will reduce his HP quite a bit. You can use Haste to increase the number of your turns. If you decide to use Banish + Faith, you will be able to do over 3,000 DMG. Remember to stock Ethers (or use Syphon Mirajewel) and have a character to heal (Curaga Mirajewel). I didn’t use Champion Medals (because I didn’t need them), but try to use Champions that do a lot of damage. If you see that the countdown begins (5 turns) and you don’t have time to defeat him, heal and defend yourself in several turns until he finishes using his ability.
There will be a double combat against this Pleiad.
This first fight will be easy. He’ll use attacks to cause poisoning or put you to sleep, in addition to using physical attacks. His Nightmare ability puts both of your characters to sleep.
As a strategy, equip each character with Resist Poison and Resist Sleep Mirajewel. And just like in the previous Pleiad, use Gravity + Faith. When he’s low on HP, try to use Banish. For status ailments he cause you, use items.
In this second battle, he’ll have more HP. He has the same abilities, except that he’ll now have Gravija, accompanied by 2 Imps.
Follow the same strategy as before, except now have stocked Ethers and have a character healing and use the Ethers. You can finish the Imps first with Banish and focus later on the boss.
Despite this boss having a lot of HP, it’s not a complicated battle. She’ll use water element abilities like Tidal Wave and Tsunami. Reaper is a physical attack that affects both of your characters.
The strategy is simple: Gravity + Faith and use lightning abilities or items. To defend against her water attacks, use Water Resist Mirajewel (Sea Serpent Mirage Board) or use Water Mirages. In a few turns you should defeat her.
This boss, apart from having a lot of HP, does a lot of damage with its physical attacks. But his specialty is that after 10-11 turns he can kill your characters in one hit with Zantetsuken.
The trick to follow is to have Auto-Phoenix (Iris Mirage Board or Princess Goblin) with Last Stand learned. You can use Behemoster too because he has Last Stand; he can do a lot of DMG and even if he dies, the boss won’t kill your group. Here you can also use Gravity + Faith as well and, considering the weakness of this boss, lightning abilities or items. If you have Haste Mirajewel (Fenrir Mirage Board) or Haste Stone, much better to have more turns.
Once you have finished these 4 IQs, you’ll get the following achievement (Which you need to have: Ifrit★, Shiva★, Ramuh★, Bahamut★, Diabolo★, Leviathan★ and Odin★):
Now talk to Serafie.
When you talk to her a cinematic will play. Return to the Tearoom again.
After talking to the girl, we have to head to the Ice Region.
Once here, go to talk to Sherlotta. Now go to Icicle Ridge.
When you get here and talk to Refia, you’ll discover a new path on this map. It was not available before. Go down and enter the cave.
When you enter a cinematic will appear. There are no chests in this part, just go to the end of this area (to the right from the point of view of the map) to face the Kyubi.
After defeating him, a cinematic will appear. You will be in Sherlotta’s Inn for a very short time, as you will be taken to Nine Wood Hills with Kyubi’s Souls.
Go to speak with the girl in Tearoom.
At the time of speaking there will be a cinematic.
Once finished Vestiges of Life, remember to claim your reward from Menu’s Adventure Log.
At this moment Serafie will tell you if you are ready for the final battle. Say No, because we have things to do.
Postcript: Turn Those Corners Up (Part 2)
At this moment we only have 4 IQs left to do:
- A Bridge’s Woes (Reward: Omega God prismarium, Resist Accuracy ↓ Seed x1) [Enemies: Omega God x1]
- Cold, Hard Justice (Reward:Shivalry Memento x1, Blizzara Seed x1) [Enemy: Shivalry★ x1 (Battle 1), Golden Flan x1 (Battle 2)]
- A Smidge of Micro-Envy (Reward: Siren Memento x1, Diva Serafie Memento x1, Wind Spellstone x1) [Enemy: Diva Serafie x1]
When I say 4 IQ, I mean in case you didn’t do The Sunken Temple’s Secret. I recommend that you go to the Chapter 21: Chaos in Grymoire Part (Part 2) section to look for the tips I left there.
This boss’s one of the most difficult to defeat. Although he doesn’t have much HP, the special feature of him is that he has a lot of defense so he doesn’t take much DMG. He has 3 abilities: one lightning type that affects the entire group, another normal type that affects a single group and his special ability, Atomic Impact, of darkness type that does a lot of DMG to the 2 characters.
Before you start, make sure you stock up on plenty of Ether, Hi-Ethers and X-Potion because you’re going to need them. Equip darkness mirages or use Mirajewels to reduce its damage. Use Champions that increase evasion and heal. As always, use Gravity + Faith to reduce a lot of DMG and other heal and use items. If your other character is not going to attack, let him also use items. Use Haste to reduce your turns. When the boss is low on HP, use Banish or elemental stones to finish him.
In this IQ there is a double battle, first against Shivalry and then against Golden Flan. I don’t need to explain much because they are very easy battles. What’s more, this is one of the areas to Lvl up our mirages because you can get +160,000 EXP (80,000 EXP for each battle).
Use Fire Abilities to finish the first battle early, and then the same in the second. Once you finish this IQ, you will achieve the following achievement:
No strategy is necessary. Just be careful because she can cause Sleep Status.
Once you finish 3 or 4 IQ, you will get the next achievement:
At this moment we only have 1 miniventure to finish: The Young Mirage Hunter – XII. Transfig Tama to get the next achievement:
Go to show her to the boy in Port Besaid – Shore to get the achievement for doing the last miniventure:
At this moment we can defeat the last 6 that we are missing (Check Chapter 21: Chaos in Grymoire Part (Part 4)).
One strategy is to use Behemoster, take DMG and counterattack each enemy mirage. The only drawback are those that absorb your AP, but if you have defeated most of them, the rest will be easy. Once you defeat them you will get the following achievement:
There are 3 battles available: Bad Fox! Bad Fox! (Lvl 73), Calamari Time Bomb (Lvl 73) and Justice Misserved (Lvl 79)
At this point there is nothing else to do except Lvl up or continue the adventure. We’ll leave the other achievements for later. I recommend Lvl up another time because there will be a better area, but you decide for yourself.
Before you speak with Serafie, be ready in stocked items, have the necesary mirajewels and the same for mirages. Take your time to check here about each boss.
When the battles start, there will be no rest between them. At first each character will fight a boss, but then they will meet again to fight the other bosses.
This boss is the same as last time, but this time he has Disaster that produces several altered states, including doom. It’s best to use Remedy or Remedy+. Don’t use Champion Medal, and before killing him make sure you recover HP and AP. If you can, try to have mirage with Evade & Counter in Lann.
In this part there will be a double battle.
This time she has more advanced abilities than last time. She has Bloody Claw, which will steal your HP in addition to hurting you. Don’t use Champion Medal. Use Haste and Shell in Reynn, make sure you recover HP and AP before finishing.
The fight against this Boss is still continuing. He now has more HP and has Try-Disaster, a skill with different elements combining (fire, ice and lightning). But this time you can use both characters. Try to use Haste and Syphon to recover AP and end this battle as quickly as possible.
After the cinematic there is another double battle without rest.
Postcript: Turn Those Corners Up (Part 3)
This boss has a variety of abilities: physical, magical and ailment states. Use Haste and finish him off quickly before he uses his abilities. Arcarmament 3-11-12, of dark and earth element, can DMG your characters. Make sure you are healed in HP and AP because the last fight is coming. You can use the Champions Medals now, because later you won’t be able to.
This form has 51,243 HP. Keep an eye on the gem on his chest because it indicates the elemental magic he can absorb:
– Red: Fire
– Blue: Ice
– Yellow: Lightning
– Green: Viento
– Dark blue: Water
– Brown: Earth.
You can check this with Libra. Chaotic Impulse is a darkness type ability that affects both characters and uses often. Chaos pulse is an inferior version of the previous one that only affects one character, but will unstack one tower. Be careful with Dark Revels because it causes different statur ailments. The moment the countdown begins (5s), he’ll use Megaflare Cannon; if low HP, reduced to 3s. At that point with Megaflare Cannon, he’ll be weak to all elemental magic except one.
Strategy for this fight: Gravity to reduce as much HP as you can. Use Armor Pierce (Mimic Jackpot) to do a lot of damage. Heal yourself when necessary and use Remedy to cure status ailments. If you have Syphon you’ll avoid using Ether or Hi-Ether. This fight is much easier than Shantotto so you can finish it quickly. But If you can’t finish him before he uses Megaflare Cannon, use Shell, heal up to max and use defend.
My team here was:
– Reynn (Lvl 65), Nightmare (Lvl 61) and Yurugu (Lvl 48)
– Lann (Lvl 66), Mimic Jackpot (Lvl 65) and Werebat (Lvl 61).
After the battle will come the cinematic and the ending.
And don’t forget that you will also get the following achievement:
Postgame: EX Dungeon (Part 1)
Chests: 253/253
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: –
Achievement: Reigning Champ, Thirst for the Undiscovered, Across the Unknown, Treasure Liberator, Legendary Caretaker, Crossover Cogna, Mirage Master, True Grymoirian
Once we have completed the game, now we have to get the achievements we’re missing and play the extra content (not Maxima at the moment). You will also have seen how you can form a tower without Reynn and Lann.
All remaining battles are currently available: Team White 1 (Lvl 62), The Finishing Touch 1 (Lvl 62), Unlikely Alliance 1 (Lvl 62), Unlikely Alliance 2 (Lvl 82), The Finishing Touch 2 (Lvl 82), Team White 2 (Lvl 82), Master of Ceremonies (Lvl 85), The Cranberry Knights (Lvl 85) and The Evasion Persuasion (Lvl 85).
When you complete these battles, and those you’ve left to do, you’ll receive the following achievement:
Now you need to go to Castle Exnine to get other achievement.
Once here, activate the third crystal to access O10.
Continue straight ahead and later to the right to open the door and reach the next area.
Go down and turn left, then go up and activate the crystal that will take us to the secret area.
As soon as you enter you will get the following achievement:
Continue straight ahead, taking the right path, to confront Elasmos and catch him or at least defeat him to get Elasmos Memento. You need to deal a lot of damage at once
If you want to catch him: Use Ceres with Focus and Faith, or Bahamut/Behemonster (Lvl 60) where you’ve to receive a lot of DMG to deal about 31,000 DMG. Tonberry with Everyone’s Grudge is other option, but you need to receive about 100,000 DMG to deal DMG later to him; you can heal while receiving DMG.
When you finish you have to go to The Girl’s Tearoom.
The extra content is 4 dungeons. For the fourth to appear you need to complete the first 3. First go through the portal on the far right.
The first chest is under the portal: EXP Boost Mirajewel [218/253].
Go forward a little and go up to open this chest with: 3 Water Spellstones [219/253].
Continue a little to the right, but going down a little, until you reach this chest with: 4 Gold Hourglasses [220/253].
From that chest, lean a little southeast to reach this other one with: 5 Hi-Ethers [221/253].
Continue to the right to reach the next area.
Be careful because in this area there are several Ambush points.
Go down to the next area and then go all the way to the left to open this chest with: 2 Loco Weed [222/253].
Go down to the next area and then to the far left. Be careful because there is a meeting point (try to move along the edge to avoid the battle). Open this chest with: 2 Turbo Ethers [223/253].
Now you have to go down to exit to the next area. Be careful because almost at the bottom there is another encounter, so try to walk close to the edge.
Move forward to the left and then go down to this canyon to go to the area where there is a puzzle.
Solve the puzzle and go back.
Go back down some stairs and face an Adamantoise (93,942 HP). Once you defeat him, open the 2 chests there: Mega-Ethers [224/253] and Remedy+ [225/253].
Go up the stairs and go left to the second cannon to advance to another platform. Exit to the next area.
Move fast to the save point after this long linear path. At this point you can Lvl up because the boss of this dungeon is quite strong, and also have the necessary mirages and mirajewels equipped. A tip to Lvl up is use a Behemonster. Wait to take damage and then counterattack.
If you go left you will find a chest with 3 X-Potions [226/253].
If you go to the right, that chest contains a battle against Mimic [227/253]. This battle will give you Arma Gems, among their rewards.
Once ready, and from the save point, move south for the boss battle.
Postgame: EX Dungeon (Part 2)
This boss is a tower from the evolutionary line of this mirage. If you unstack the tower, you can catch Brrblizz. They’ve powerful ice abilities that could kill you or unstack your towers, as well as shell to protect himself from any magic abilities you use. Without forgetting that any physical attack you make will be countered with Ice Spike.
As a tip, equip yourself with mirages that absorb ice damage. Use Gravity to greatly reduce its HP, accompanied by Faith and fire, lightning, light or darkness abilities. You can also use elemental stones. As Champion Medals, you can use Tidus, Yuna and Shelke.
Another tip I used, but it was by chance and not following the one mentioned above because I was testing. Use a mirage XL as Behemonster; Accumulate damage as you defend, but control the boss’s turns and yours. Your objective is, with the DMG you deal, to unstack the tower and apply Revenge Blast to Shivverina and Shivver to finish them off. Afterwards there will only be Brrblizz to catch (use ice abilities or stones).
Once finished, among the rewards you will receive Brrblizz Memento, Shivverina Memento, Shivver Memento and Girl’s Diary, Entry 11.
You can continue Lvl up or exit through the portal that is right next to it in the south.
Take your time stocking items from the shop for the next dungeon. Now we will take the one in the center.
As soon as you arrive, to your left and right you will find 2 chests: Mega-Potion [228/253] and Mega-Ether [229/253].
Head south to reach the next area.
Head south, and at the fork turn left to reach a chest with Phoenix Pinion [230/253].
Go back and take the other path to climb the ladder twice.
In this part, take the path to the right to reach 2 chests with: 3 Flash Bombs [231/253] and 2 Lightning Spellstones [232/253].
Continue the path until you reach other stairs and go up to the next area.
Continue the path until you reach the fork. Go first to the right until you reach the end and then south.
Activate the generator to move the bridge to the center platform.
Open the 2 chests you will find here: Megalixir [233/253] and Arise Mirajewel [234/253]. Activate the second generator to raise a bridge and return to the fork again.
Take the other path, then head north and at the next fork.
Go up north to open 2 more chests: Mimic battle [235/253] and 3 War Gongs [236/253].
Go back and take the other path to the next area.
Go down the stairs and exit through the right side to go to the save point. Once you save, go back to the stairs and go down.
The path is long but at the end you will find 2 chests: Mega Phoenix [237/253] and 4 Haste Stones [238/253].
Go back. You can take the time to Lvl up, but I think you get little EXP in this dungeon; Once ready we have to face the next boss.
This boss Absorbs lightning, Water and Dark element, but is weak to the rest. It has lightning damage abilities and does a lot of damage. It also has Regen and Haste.
As a strategy you can use the same as the previous one with a Mirage XL like Behemonster.
But if you prefer another strategy: equip yourself with mirages that absorb electrical DMG or reduce it. You will need to use Haste, because he will do the same and maybe Regen but the latter is not mandatory. Use Shell/Protect to minimize damage. Gravity is an option to reduce their HP. Use skills and Stones according to their weaknesses. The best thing is to unstack the tower so that they lose their turn while you weaken their. Don’t forget to have Yuna or Tidus as Champions; I’m not sure if Celes is good here.
Once finished you’ll get Joult Memento, Voultr Memento, Rairamuh Memento and Girl’s Diary, Entry 12.
Take your time again to stock items for the next dungeon. Take the portal on the left.
There are no chests in this area.. Go down and at the fork take the path south (left). At the second fork to the right (south), in the third fork to the south (left) and in the last fork to the south (right).
Go down the path until you reach a fork. Take the path to the right to use flight to another area and open a chest with Agility++ Mirajewel [239/253].
Go back and take the other path to exit to the next area.
In this area you will find 11 chests.
As soon as you advance you will find this chest with Dream Powder [240/253].
Go through the pipe on the right to open another chest with 6 Potions [241/253].
Go up twice until you reach another chest with 3 Hi-Potions [242/253].
Go up to the right to find a chest with 2 X-Potions [243/253].
Go south to find another chest with Mega-Potion [244/253].
Continue your way down to the south to open a chest with 5 Ethers [245/253].
Go through the pipe on the left to open a chest with 4 Hi-Ethers [246/253].
Take the path north and then go up to the right to open a chest with 2 Turbo Ethers [247/253].
Go down twice to open another chest with Mega-Ether [248/253].
Continue down another two times to open this chest with Elixir [249/253].
Move along the pipe on the right to reach this last chest in this area: Megalixir [250/253]. Climb the platform to continue to the next area.
Postgame: EX Dungeon (Part 3)
Continue your path until you reach the first Chill point. Go along that path and behind a stalagmite there is a hidden chest with 3 Fire Spellstones [251/253].
Go back and take the path to the left. At the next North and West intersection, go west and go down to reach a chest with Phoenix Pinion [252/253].
Go back and return to the intersection to go north. Before fighting the boss, take the time to save and organize your team, mirajewels and Champions.
This Mirage, from my point of view, is easier than the previous ones. They use physical attacks accompanied by fire abilities.
I recommend the strategy of using Mirage XL as Behemoster. Remember to coordinate between defending and attacking to unstack the tower and kill Gleefrit and Gleed quickly.
If you prefer another strategy: Equip yourself with mirages that absorb fire or reduce its damage. Use Protect, Shell and Haste. If you have Gravity you will reduce his HP. Although it is advisable to unstack the tower so that they lose their turn.
Once you defeat this boss you will get Weeglee Memento, Gleed Memento, Gleefrit Memento, Girl’s Diary, Entry 13 and the following achievement:
Once you return you’ll see that there is another new dungeon, and it’s the last one of all. Enter the portal that is to the left of everything.
Head all the way south to reach the next area. There is no chest here.
No matter which path you take, your goal is to reach the exit that is all the way south. There’re no chests in this area either.
Again continue your way south to the next area.
Follow the linear path to leave this area and continue to the next one.
Another linear path. Continue along this path to reach the next area.
This area is easy. Move forward to reach the south completely.
Before reaching the end of this area, you will find a Treasure Trove and a chest with Girl’s Diary, Entry 14 [253/253]. At this point, and if you have been following this guide closely, you should get this achievement:
Take the time to Lvl up your mirages here until you master 100 mirages boards to get the next achievement:
Once you have achieved it, save and prepare your team to face the last boss. Activate the crystal.
This boss has 3 abilities: Flaming Hell, a fire attack that affects your characters; Kishin, a darkness attack that affects a single character; and Raigeki, an electric attack that affects a single character. Kishin is his most powerful ability, being able to destroy your team.
As a strategy make sure to use darkness mirages and equip yourself with mirajewels or use seeds to reduce fire and lightning DMG. Yes, as always, use Gravity to reduce his HP quite a bit. Once about half or a little more, start attacking him or use elemental stones; while with other characters make sure to heal and use items. If your other character is not going to attack, use items too. Make sure they have good Champions like Tidus; I leave the other 2 to your choice.
You can also use a mirage XL like Behemonster. By controlling your turns and his, to take DMG and counterattack (also defend when necessary), you can do 12,000 – 19,000 DMG. I defeated him this way and with my characters Lvl 73.
Once you defeat him you will get this mirage (XG) and this item as a reward: Girl’s Diary, Entry 15 and XG Eldbox. You will also get the latest achievements:
Congratulations, you should have gotten all the achievements. If you are missing any, take your time to check the guide to see which one you are missing.
Postgame: Maxima (Part 1)
Chests: 253/253
Maxima Items: 38/38
Miniventure: –
Intervention Quest: Bloom in the Moonlight, SOLDIER Honor, Angel in the Flower Field
Achievement: –
If you purchased the Maxima DLC, you’ll notice that there are no achievements or miniventures, but there are 3 IQ as well as new content, which you will have checked in the Maxima section of this guide.
First steps we’ll be to collect the items that will be on various maps. These items will shine and they won’t be difficult to find them. These don’t count towards achievement.
The first item is Treasure Tracker (1/38) which you will get when you are in Postscript.
After defeating Enna Kros, to your right on a chair you’ll find Initial Regen Mirajewel (2/38).
Here you can get Conserve AP Mirajewel (3/38) but you need to defeat Exnine Bahamut in this area once you have completed the new dungeon.
Go forward a little and near the first chest in the game you’ll find Read Ahead Mirajewel (4/38).
At B3, go straight ahead and go up the stairs. Before crossing a bridge, to your right (where we had a battle to receive Ether) you will find WOFF Apocrypha I (5/38).
Use the portal to get here. It is the area where we faced Yuna and Valefor. Go forward a little and to the left of a large mushroom we will find WOFF Apocrypha II (6/38)
Access the secret area of this map. Defeat Phoenix again and pick up the WOFF Apocrypha V (7/38) that is right on the ground.
Looking at the map, you have to go north, in a corner you will find WOFF Apocrypha VI (8/38).
When you reach O3, go down the stairs from Block 4 to reach Block 5. Turn left, passing by a container where we could hide, near another staircase you’ll find WOFF Apocrypha XII (9/38).
When passing from N2 to N3, just to the left of the entrance you’ll find WOFF Apocrypha VII (10/38).
Go to the temple (Q4) and before reaching the throne, on the left you will find WOFF Apocrypha XI (11/38).
Enter Castle Exnine and go through the purple portal on the top floor to reach ???, where we had our first fight against brandelis. To get a item here you’ve to defeat the boss of this new dungeon, but I’ll mention it later.
Before entering, near the Inn and where Undead Princess will be once you do her IQ, you’ll get WOFF Apocrypha III (12/38).
Approach the white cat on the far right to get Old Personal Posting 1 (13/38).
When you leave the portal, go down a little and near the stairs you’ll get WOFF Apocrypha VIII (14/38).
In Cornelia, when leaving the portal, proceed to the left and go up the stairs to get Old Journalist Notes 1 (15/38).
Near the portal, in a tree to your left, you will get Old Journalist Notes 2 (16/38).
From the portal, advance to the house on the right, and in a corner you’ll get Old Journalist Notes 3 (17/38).
Go a little north and to the right, near an alley, you’ll get Old Journalist Notes 4 (18/38).
Outside there is a white cat. Interact with him to get Old Personal Posting 2 (19/38)
Go down the narrow path on the right and interact with the white cat to get Old Personal Posting 3 (20/38).
Continue the path until you reach the bookstore. From there, approach the table on the right to get WOFF Apocrypha IX ( 21/38).
Before reaching the laboratory, in the left corner, interact with the cat to get Old Personal Posting 4 (22/38).
Enter the laboratory and go up the stairs on the left. Near a barrel you will get WOFF Apocrypha X (23/38).
Before we leave, go to the shore to talk to Noctis from Final Fantasy XV . We’ll talk about this later, but basically you have to get 20,000 points to get the Champion Jewel from this Character.
Continue along the path on the left until you reach the end. Interact with the cat to get Old Personal Posting 5 (24/38). You’ll unlock Y’shtola Champion Mirajewel.
At the portal go to Agarthir and go outside. Go a little north to a small tree to get WOFF Apocrypha IV (25/38)
Move to the right to get Old Journalist Notes 5 (26/38). Once done you’ll get Firion Champion Mirajewel.
Postgame: Maxima (Part 2)
17 new battles are available. To unlock some battles you need to meet several requirements. There’s a new function: Time Attack; Basically, if you have already won a battle, you can do it again but to get a new record in time. On the other hand, this limits your Lvl so it can help you catch the new mirages.
In Maxima there are 6 new murkrifts. The locations are the following:
Ice Region (near Saronia; Travel to Saronia and then get out to search it)
The Rainbow Shore
The Phantom Sands – ST 2
Big Bridge – S1
Library of the Ancients (You have to solve a puzzle. When you read the 4 books in order, head to the fifth one to make the murkrift appear).
If you played FF V, each book mentions a monster from that game. According to the order and mention it would be page 32, page 64, page 128 and page 256.
Airship – behind The Crystal Tower
The following minigames can be accessed through the console in the Twins’ Bedroom, BUT to get the Champion Medal has to be in the SHORE in Besaid Port.
There’s no achievement, but you need to get 20,000 Points to unlock a Champion Mirajewel. Tips to help you:
1) Learn the pattern of each button with its corresponding character. There is a fourth button that will get mixed up with some of them sometimes.
2) Don’t take a long time to press a button, but don’t be too slow either. At first you can go easy, but as you get enough points and there is little time left, the speed at which the buttons appear will increase.
3) Try not to make mistakes because it will take a while for the next button to appear. Sometimes one character’s failure can also bother another.
4) Stay focused at all times and don’t focus on time, only on the buttons.
5) To know how many points you have, when you reach 9,000 or more points, the buttons will begin to appear many times in a row without stopping. This is where you should focus to try to reach 10,000 points.
6) When you reach 10,000 points, you will see the 3 characters react to catch a big fish: Leviathan. Press ALL the buttons quickly before time runs out to get the other 10,000 points.
Uuugh… I’m glad this minigame doesn’t have an achievement because for me it’s more difficult than the others. After many attempts I got 20,850 points, but doing it in The Twin’s Room doesn’t give you the Noctis Champion Medal so you have to do it in the Shore… -_-” But in the end I got it with 21,500 points.
I am going to indicate some of the new mirages ones that you can get now:
– Mecha Choco: Murkrift behind The Crystal Tower (Airship) or Coloseum [Use fire attacks]
– Ponini: Murkrift Ice Region, near Saronia, or Coliseum [Land a critical hit]
– Dramut: Murkrift in The Rainbow Shore or Coloseum [Use fire, ice, and thunder attacks]
– Devil Wolf: Murkrift in Big Bridge or Coliseum [Inflict berserk]
– Moomba: Murkrift in The Phantom Sands – Secret Toil (S3) or Coliseum [Restore the mirage’s HP]
– Largebuncle: Murkrift Library of the Ancients (puzzle) or Coliseum [Inflict oblivion]
– Syldra: in The Coliseum [Deal a lot of damage at once]
– Mel: in The Coliseum [Restore the Mirage’s HP]
Once finished, If you talk to Serafie, you will check that there is the Rumors option. Each one is about the new content of this DLC to unlock the Secret ending.
Somewhere, Sometime, is the secret ending. To unlock it you have to read and complete the following: Challenge from a God (Defeat Enna Kros), A New Encounter (Talk to the Girl With No Name to connect with a new soul, IQ), The Ultimate Dungeon (Beat all the EX Dungeons and defeat the Boss from that dungeon in Tower Crystal) and Knock On Time’s Door (defeat Brandelis in Plaza 99).
Approach the cafeteria on North Promenade to confront this boss.
This battle is the most complicated of all, because Tama’s Timewalk ability revives anyone, including herself. Although this ability only has an 8-time use. Tama will be in charge of using buffs and healing. Serafie is the easiest to defeat, so it is recommended to leave her last. But Enna Kros has very strong abilities that could even kill you. The elements they use in this battle to attack are wind, fire, water and light.
I could give some advice but I think it’s better I share with you the following link about how to defeat her in the easiest way: Beating Enna Kros | World Of Final Fantasy Maxima |
As I mentioned, there are 3 new IQs, but to complete them you have to do them in order for the next one to appear:
- Bloom in the Moonlight (Reward: Mega-Potion x1) [Enemies: Yojimbo x1, Gamit x1, Daigoro x1]
- SOLDIER Honor (Reward: Mega-Ether x1) [Enemy: Zack x1]
- Angel in the Flower Field (Reward: Mega Phoenix x1) [Enemy: Shiva-Ixion x1]
In those IQs you will meet Zack from FF VII, Cecil from FF IV, and Serah from FF XIII. Once completed, you will have fulfilled another requirement.
Activate the red crystal to go to the top floor.
When you arrive it will tell you that a new portal has appeared. Remember you can catch the others new mirages in this dungeon:
– Sylphine: Use earth attacks.
– Lesser Coeurl: Inflict confusion.
– Coeurl: Inflict doom.
– Daigoro: Use physical attacks.
– Gamit: Use physical attacks.
– Yojimbo: Use physical attacks.
Postgame: Maxima (Part 3)
Once inside a map effect will activate, at random.
Active Effects
While inside the Hidden Dungeon, one of five conditions will take effect in a floor:
– Damage increase: Both damage dealt and received are increased, by 20%.
– Healing amount increase: Healing effects, for HP and AP, are increased on both the player and enemy sides, by 20%.
– Item lockout: Items cannot be used, inside or outside of battle.
– Imprisming success rate: Imprisming Mirages succeeds more often during prismtunity.
– Elemental affinity increase: Elemental weakness is increased, and characters take twice more damage from elements than normal.
To your right you will find your first item: 2 Hi-Ethers (27/38).
Continue along the path until you reach a fork. Take the left path to get Half Mega-Potion (28/38).
Go back and take the other path until you reach an area with 4 crystals. Each crystal is a route to an element: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Defeating the boss of each crystal will lead us to a final boss.
Continue along the path until you reach a crystal to go to the next area. There are 2 crystals, but the correct one is the second one, which to reach you have to jump down an embankment and then go up another path.
Head north, passing by a container and turning left. Go up the ramp and at a fork take the path to the south-left to get 2 Phoenix Pinion (29/38).
Go back and take the other path until you reach the next crystal and go to the area where there is a boss.
Go straight ahead and before going up the stairs, turn left passing through a small cave to get Mega-Potion (30/38).
Go back and take the other path to go up the stairs twice, go through another area to reach another staircase, but before continuing, deviate to the bottom south left to get Half Mega-Ether (31/38).
Go down the stairs until you reach the camp and activate the crystal.
Continue along the only path until you reach the boss of this route. Heal yourself before approaching him.
This boss has powerful abilities, but what stands out the most are Death and Doom, being able to destroy your team. The worst thing about that is that when a character with one of those 2 skills dies, he will regain HP, making this a combat long.
Prepare a team with Death resistance. Gravity is necesary to reduccing his HP. Use Protect, Shell and Haste. Try to use Oblivion status on him with Lethean Chime, because it’s his weakness and it can help you prevent him from using his abilities. Also use mirages XL or Tonberry King.
Do you prefer a fast and easy way to defeat him? Use 2 X-Potion and the battle will finish soon.
Once defeated you will get some rewards plus Lich Prismarium. Activate the crystal to return.
Return to Nine Wood Hills to save and purchase at the shop.
When you have to return to the 4 crystals, right at the entrance there is one hidden on the right that leaves you close and you don’t have to walk.
Once you return here, activate the crystal at the bottom left.
In this map there are 2 crystals, where only one is correct. First of all, at this west-east fork, take the left path to get 2 Protect Stones (33/38).
Go back and proceed to go east towards the other crystal to go to the next area.
Continue along this path until you reach the crystal.
It’s the same as on the Earth route. Move forward until you reach the crystal that is in the camp.
Continue along the only path until you reach the boss of this route. Heal yourself before approaching him.
This boss uses physical and fire abilities. Double cut hits 4 times, but Blade Dance is deadly because she can make lot of DMG, even kill you.
Avoid equipping mirages that are weak to fire. Use Protect and Haste. Gravity needs to be used at first to reduce his HP. Use Tonberry King or mirage XL as Behemoster; If you decide on the latter, try defending so that he uses counter a few times and then, after having received enough DMG, try to use Revenge Blast 2 or 3 time to kill her.
Once defeated, you will receive several rewards and among them is Marilith prismarium. Activate the crystal to return.
Return to Nine Wood Hills to save and purchase at the shop. Take a mirage with Sizzle and Flutter abilities. Once back, activate the crystal to the south right.
Go straight ahead, walking along the wall until you reach the end, where you will find 2 crystals. The correct one is the one on the left.
Go straight ahead and before using Sizzle on the cannon, get the item Seraphone (34/38).
Go down the stairs and then to the right to fly and reach the other boat with 2 X-Potions (35/38).
Go back and take the path towards the ship to activate the crystal.
Move forward until you reach the crystal that is in the camp.
Continue along the only path until you reach the boss of this route. Heal yourself before approaching him.
This boss is similar to one we fought earlier, only it has more abilities than before. Dark can cause blindness and Evil Mist can poison. When you attack him physically, he will counterattack with Aqua Spikes. His abilities are Water element. He also has Reflect.
Equip Water element mirages or use Mirajewels. Gravity will be of help in this fight as well. Use Lightning abilities, but when he uses Reflect you can use Lightning Stones. You can use mirages XL or Tonberry King. This boss is pretty easy compared to the first two.
Once defeated and received the rewards, activate the crystal to return.
Postgame: Maxima (Part 4)
Return to Nine Wood Hills to save and purchase at the shop. Take a mirage with Flutter ability. Once back, activate the last crystal.
Go north and at the fork take the path to the right.
Continue along the path until you go down an embankment. At the next fork take the path to the left, and at the next one take the left again. Fly to the other side and go down another embankment to get 3 Remedies+ (36/38).
Go down and take the path to the right because it is the right crystal, not the one above.
Move forward until you reach the next crystal, which will take you to another area.
Go down the next staircase, cross a bridge and continue along the path to go down another staircase and cross another bridge that will take you to a crystal. Activate it.
In the next area cross the bridge and go down the stairs. Then leave there and continue your way to the last crystal to go to the next area.
Move forward until you reach the crystal that is in the camp.
Continue along the only path until you reach the boss of this route. Heal yourself before approaching him.
This boss is the same as when we fought last time using Wind, Ice and Lightning abilities; the difference is that he has Acid Mist, which lowers your defense, Magic Counter, which counterattacks when you use magic abilities, and Double attack, which attacks twice.
This boss is easy too. Equip yourself with mirages with wind resistance; Also use mirajewels with Ice and Lightning resistance. Use Gravity to reduce his HP. If you use XL mirages like Behemonster the combat will end soon. Otherwise, use Flash Bomb to blind him and make his physical attacks miss.
Once defeated and received the rewards, activate the crystal to return.
Return to Nine Wood Hills to save and purchase at the shop (stock X-Potions, Ethers and Hi-Ethers because you’re going to need it.), because we are going to fight against the last bosses. Take a mirage with Sizzle ability.
Once back, activate the last crystal that is north of the portal.
Go south until you reach one of the puzzles we did once (I’ll leave the map for the way to take). In the northern area you will find 2 Elixirs (37/38).
Exit the puzzle and advance to the crystal.
In this area you have to go down the stairs twice. The second time you go down, don’t activate the crystal for now; look for the container to collect the last maxima item: Megalixir (38/38). Go back and activate the crystal.
Take the pipe on the left path to save and prepare your team. Once ready, go back and take the other path to fight 5 bosses.
This battle will be the most complicated of all because you have to fight 5 bosses. You’ve already fought the other 4 bosses before, except for one. Garland only has the Slash ability, but as you defeat the other bosses, he will gain new abilities depending on which boss you defeat, but he will also gain elemental weaknesses (Fire, Wind, Water and Earth). When he defeats 2 bosses, he will use Soul of Chaos, a strong darkness attack.
Lich can be defeated with 2 X-Potions. The next to defeat would be Marilith due to her strong abilities, followed by the other 2 bosses and finally Garland.
My recommendation would be to use Iris and Tonberry King. The latter needed to deal DMG to everyone with Everyone’s Grudge, while the other used Auto-Phoenix. Use Champions like Yuna, Shelk and Tidus (or use whichever ones you prefer). Use XL mirages to help you deal a lot of DMG to bosses like Bahamut or Behemonster. One character focuses on dealing DMG and another on healing or using items. The battle will be long but you will be able to achieve it. My MC was Lvl 92.
My personal strategy: Use 2 X-Potions on Lich. Later Behemonster defending to use counter on those who attack you and then do a lot of damage with Revenge Blast on Garland. If your Behemonster has SOS Regen you can hold on to deal damage to Marilith and kill her with the other two characters. The last 2 are easier. First kill Kraken and then Tiamat. The latter to use Siphon and recover AP. Remember to equip yourself with mirajewels with resistance to water and wind. Use Armor Piece and Gravity to finish them off; use X-Potion and Hi-Ethers when you need it.
Once finished, go through the portal to go to Nine Wood Hills.
I already mentioned it before, but in case you didn’t, take the time to catch the last mirages to get. Now you can do it calmly:
– Sylphine: Use earth attacks (Wind route – F1, F2 & F3).
– Lesser Coeurl: Inflict confusion (Fire route – F2, Water route – F2, The Phantom Sands* and Final route – F2).
– Coeurl: Inflict doom (Fire route – F2, Water route – F2, The Phantom Sands*, Watchplains (F3) and Final route – F2).
– Daigoro: Use physical attacks (Earth route – F2, Watchplains (F3) and Final route – F2).
– Gamit: Use physical attacks (Earth route – F2, Watchplains (F3) and Final route – F2).
– Yojimbo: Use physical attacks (Earth route – F2, Watchplains (F3) and Final route – F2).
*When, there’re two crystals on the maps, you choose the wrong one, it will take you directly to The Phantom Sands, and going north to activate the crystal takes you back to the area where the 4 crystals are.
Postgame: Maxima (Part 5)
Enter the black hole and approach the altar to read the instructions and know how to fight the SuperBoss. It basically tells you that you have to go to 6 altars, solve the puzzle and come back here again. It is not very difficult because it requires the Airship and you do not have to fight in any of the 6 locations.
The puzzles are in this order:
??? (Earth Seal): Weight 14 and Earth Resistance +200.
??? (Ice Seal): Weight 14 and Ice Resistance +150.
??? (Thunder Seal): Weight 14 and Lightning Resistance +175.
??? (Fire Seal): Weight 15 and Fire Resistance +150.
??? (Wind Seal): Weight 14 and Wind Resistance +175.
??? (Water Seal): Weight 14 and Water Resistance +150.
This map is in the Cornelia area.
Mirages to use: Flamantoise (S – 3 / 75), Metalliskul (M – 5 / 75) and Mythril Giant, Sand Worm or Asteius (L – 7 / 75).
It’s on the snow-covered mountain, near Saronia.
Mirages to use: White Nakk (S – 3 / 50), Paleberry, Demivampier or Squidraken (M – 4 / 50) and Shiva-Ixion (L – 8 / 150).
It is at the top of mountain: The Dragon Scars.
Mirages to use: Golem Head (S – 3 / 50), Kuza Kit or Kaguya Flan (M – 5 / 50) and Ramuh★ (L – 6 / 100) or Ramewl★ (L – 7 / 100).
It is on the volcano near Nibelheim.
Mirages to use: Flamantoise (S – 3 / 75), bihydra, Flan Princess or Sistesaur (M – 5 / 50) and Ghidra or Nidhogg (L – 7 / 50).
It is near Figaro Castle, in the water area.
Mirages to use: Wind Toad (S – 3 / 50), Dualizard (M – 5 / 75) and Sky Dragon or Tiamat (L – 6/7 / 50/75). Also you can use Elasmos, Syldra★ or Shiva-Ixion for L.
It’s on the sea, near Port Besaid.
Mirages to use: Reaver Mu or Water Toad (S – 3 / 50), Nut Eater or Flan (M – 5 / 75) and Tonberry King, Sea Worm or Kraken (L – 6/7 / 50/75). Also you can use Elasmos, Syldra★, Ramuh★, Ramewl★ or Magna Roader (yellow).
Once you finish here, you’ll have broken all the seals. Now it’s time to prepare your team and sotck items, and head to the Crystal Tower for a Boss battle.
Go through the black hole and approach the altar to fight the boss.
This boss specializes in physical attacks, and Dragon Dive can annihilate you; He usually uses it in the middle of combat when there are replicas of him or when you defeat him. If you use Syphon or magic abilities, he’ll use Magic Counter. Counterstance is similar to the previous one, but for physical attacks. He has other abilities such as Bravery, Focus, Death, Meteor, Slash and Wait… the latter gives you a turn without attacking you. The copies of him have only Focus and Wait. If you don’t kill his copies quickly, he’ll use a skill to absorb them and recover HP.
Make sure you have mirages with high Evasion, Defense and dark resistance. You can use Haste and Protect. Use Gravity to reduce his HP. Regarding Champions Medal, use the ones you prefer. Have X-Potion and Hi-Ethers ready; You can use Syphon but Hi-Ethers will recover more AP. As mirages you can use Iris and Tonberry King for example, although Behemonster can give you victory by finishing him off once you have taken away a little of his HP.
Once the fight is over and the rewards have been claimed, approach the altar to collect Initial haste Mirajewel (38/38). You got all items in Maxima.
To fight Brandelis, you have to read his Rumor, and to do so you have to have completed the other Rumors.
Approach the door that is in Plaza 99, on the right side.
This boss has a lot of HP and a wide variety of skills, if you check his chart. Among his abilities he has Dispelga and Circumvent so he will take away all your buffs. He can also give you several altered states, but the most annoying is Bersek.
Before you start stock items like Remedy, X-Potions, Phoenix Pinions and Hi-Ethers. Have several XL mirages ready for this battle and the next. Use mirajewels against Poison and Bersek; also of different types such as Fire, Ice, Dark, etc., for the next battle. Gravity will be very helpful in reducing his HP quite a bit. You can use Slow to reduce his speed, but you have a 50% chance to hit. Make sure you have Dispelga mirajewel, because he can use Regen making him heal 10K HP per turn, making this a long battle, and also to remove his buffs. Before killing him, make sure you are healed.
This second form is the same as the previous time when we fought him, but he has a lot of HP. He also has stronger magical abilities than before. Remember the crystals he has to know his weakness to which element.
At this time using Champions Medal will be useful for this last battle. You will not be able to add/change nothing because there’s no time for it. Behemoster can be a key to finishing him, but only use him when you’ve lowered his HP enough with Gravity. If you think is necessary, use Elixir and other items you’ve saved, because this will be your last battle (except if you want to save some for battles in The Coliseum, like Consecutive Boss Battles). Remember to use Haste and/or Shell to last in this battle.
Once this fight is over, Congratulations!!!. There’s nothing more left to do. Sit back and wait for the ending and credits to finish, because later you’ll watch Secret Ending.
8. Maps
These maps aren’t my creation, so to save time creating this guide I decided to add them instead of making new ones.
As an explanation, chests are items (or Mimics) that you have to get to obtain the achievement, while Maxima are the items that come in the DLC that you have to buy. The latter doesn’t influence in the achievement.
The quantities are correct after being checked several times. But it is better to follow the guide so as not to get lost, although if you have Maxima DLC, there is an item that helps you find the chests in each area.
(This maps is only in Maxima)
(Treasure Tracker)
TOTAL AMOUNT CHESTS BASE GAME ACHIEVEMENT: 253
TOTAL AMOUNT CHESTS MAXIMA: 38
9. Miniventures
10. Intervention Quests
11. Champion Jewels and Medals
Champions Jewels are only available if you purchased Maxima. It allows you to change the character design style, in addition to using the abilities of each Champion…but you will not be able to use Mirages XL.
12. Mirages (Part 1)
Q: What’s a mirage?
A: It’s a powerful, living illusion that can be imprismed and commanded by a Mirage Keeper. This creature type is crucial to the story and gameplay
Q: Are there missable mirages?
A: No, there are none to be missed. Those that don’t respawn or can’t be captured at certain points in the story or Astral Travel, can be caught in The Coliseum.
Q: How do I capture a Mirage?
A: It’s explained in the in-game tutorial, but as a summary, you first need to see a type of Mirage, fulfill its capture condition (check with Libra) and imprism it.
Q: I’m having trouble capturing a mirage, is there a way to increase the chances of success?
A: Yes, you can. The moment you meet the condition, the capture glow will appear. But if you fulfill that condition again, the glow intensifies. There are special cases that can’t be done, such as those that indicate once per combat.
Q: Why can’t I evolve a specific mirage?
A: Because you don’t have the necessary Transfiguration (or Memento). You can get them by completing Astral Travel and progressing through the game. There’re some obtained in hidden areas, except Maduin. He has a special condition.
Q: Is it necessary to capture all the mirages?
A: For example, the Chocobo has five transf., but the Mirage, once you unlock the evolutions on the Miracle Board, can change their shape without any type of limit and without losing PH. This means that a single Chocochick can be used to obtain all forms of this specific creature in the Miragepedia. Short answer? No, you don’t; but maybe you will a dupe Mirage.
Q: Why are there mirages with a symbol next to their name?
A: It means that that particular mirage is unique and special. Mirages with a symbol are more powerful than the normal ones, but have limitations. For example, Shiva★ is more powerful than Shiva, but Shiva has more possibilities to assign abilities to empty slots.

14. Missing Coliseum Tickets – CE
Why am I using this? In the game there’re a series of tickets that allow you to fight against different mirages in Coliseum, except these 2:
- The Red-capped Speed Demon: Cactuar Johnny (Lvl 14)
- Nero’s Magitek Menace: Crimson Armor (Lvl 14)
These 2 mirages that I mention can only be captured in Coliseum, i.e., they can’t be captured anywhere else. So the only way to solve it is to use CE to add those tickets to our inventory, access the coliseum and catch these the 2 mirages.
Using CE can give you a Ban, but only in multiplayer (online) games. If it is single player there is no problem. This is a warning before we start, but I imagine you know this.
1. Install Cheat Engine (google it, for example).
2. Before opening the program, I recommend that you save a copy of your save before we start using CE;
- C:\Users\(name)\Documents\My Games\WOFF\76561198094404322
- Documents -> My Games -> WOFF
(Change (name) for yours in your Pc)
3. Open CE and the game. You should have this upon opening.
4. Now open the game, and load you game. In CE press this icon and search for the game. Press Open.
5. Go near the shop. We need buy and sell items to check codes. Let’s take my inventory as an example.
6. Checking Qty of Potion and Hi-Potion, we’re going to CE and in Value we put Qty Potion (6) and click in First Scan. We will see diferents codes and value. Sell some Potions; put the actual Qty in your inventory and press Next Scan. Repeat once more. We’ll get this code:
7. Click twice in that code. That code appears at the bottom. Double click on its name and write the name of the item.
8. Now right click in that code and press Browse this memory region or Ctrl + B. Remember the code for Potion? Now the priority is on these values in red box. Blue box is Qty, and Green box are items. Note: That value are in Hex (15 → 0F).
9. We need to put codes of Cactuar Johnny (HEX: D3, ID: 00, DEC: 211) and Crimson Armor (HEX: DA, ID: 00, DEC: 218). We’re going to write them in red and blue boxes (Cactuar in red and Crimson in blue).
Red box = FF FF FF FF / 00 → D3 00 00 00 / 01
Blue box= FF FF FF FF / 00 → DA 00 00 00 / 01
First FF write DEC number. Others FF are ID. The 00 is Qty so we put 1.
10. Check your Inventory. Go in and out to appear the icon with something new in you inventory.
11. Now we’re going to Coliseum to check it.
12. Ok, we’re finished. Take your time to catch them.
Surely you are wondering: Why in battle items and not in Key items?
Checking the forum, I have seen, from what they say, that tickets disappear in Key items, even the battle in Coliseum. For that reason it had to be put in Battle items.
15. The Coliseum
Q: What’s the Coliseum?
A: It’s a game mode where you’ll face various groups of mirages. In each battle you will receive a reward for defeating them.
Q: When and how can we access the Coliseum?
A: Once in chapter 4, after the boss battle and back in Nine Wood Hills, and accessing North Promenade, talk to Master Tonberry to gain access to the Coliseum.
Q: How to unlock new battles?
A: Some battles are unlocked by completing chapters, by purchasing tickets (they are available when purchasing the game, appearing in the inventory), others by purchasing the Maxima DLC, and also by doing miniventures/Intervention Quests.
Q: How does this game mode work?
A: When you talk to Master Tonberry there will be a tutorial, but basically you’ve to defeat a group of mirages that you’re going to face. In some cases you can use the opportunity to prism them to end the battle as soon as possible (especially the most complicated ones). Once you finish the battle you’ll recover your HP and AP. The items are consumed, but in the event that you lose a battle, the items’re not consumed.
Q: Does this game mode have achievements?
A: Yes, there are a total of 4 achievements: A New Challenger (Won your first Coliseum battle), The Cranberry Knights (Got to the bottom of the “phenomenon” at the Coliseum), Winning Streak (Defeated 30 teams at the Coliseum) and Reigning Champ (Defeated every last opponent in the Coliseum).
Q: In my game a timer appears to defeat a battle…
A: That option is only available on Maxima. Defeating a battle before the specified time will earn you more rewards. In Steam version there’s not the Speed Test and Speedster achievements, which are only available for the Xbox One.
Q: Can I farm rewards?
A: Yes, you can. It can come in handy at first when you don’t have much Gil. There are rewards that you only get once, but there are secondary rewards that you can get multiple times. The same thing happens for those of the Maxima version. In the coliseum you won’t get EXP, but instead you’ll get Giles.
