Dev’s Letter to General Public Regarding Use And Release Of Experimental Map Sizes
Well in case something is experiment.. item may be upload to workshop a mod which is not fully functional or have some limitations or need workarounds.. but it is important to KEEP THIS ITEM UNLISTED!
You can maybe still discuss the item in the forums, but everyone needs to be warned that it is experimental thing.. and it is not expect that it will not working.. also the item should not corrupt the game..

T600_MOD letter to Public Users, Regarding Usage Of Experimental SIZED and UNLISTED MOD’s
1) It is not Impossible… for Large maps however
it will glitch and bug though….

It is extremely Important you do not Post To “public” other than for the process of “Unlisting” the mod. YOU MUST “UNLIST” THE MOD and AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLEY CAN
YOU MUST DO THIS FOR YOUR EXPERIMENTAL MAP IF YOU WANT TO SHARE, OTHERWISE POSTING TO PUBLIC ENDANGERS THE ENTIRE EXPERIMENTAL LARGE MAP COMMUNITY.
YOU MUST UNLIST<->post the mod then go to it immediatly and on the right hand side there should be something that says visiblility… Set from “public” to “Delisted”
THIS IS “3 Division’s” REQUEST THAT WE MUST RESPECT,
YOU MUST DELIST Immediatly AS REQUESTED BY the 3 Division.

-Do not LINK TO FRIEND’s, -<-> With out warning or at least having them read the Experimental Map Discussion. If you Do link to friend’s Link to the general Discussion and say how far down your map is in it and MAKE SURE THEY READ THE RISKS

second you can post your Link to your Mod But only after the warning and you must have all the warning’s In your mod before the description.
These rules are set in place so because Unknowing Mod user’s might click it and play with out knowing that it is experimental, and they will complain and that’s bug reports for no reason..
So with that in mind and that it is 3 Division that allow’s us to Create these map’s but only if we Delist them And Only Share In the Discussion about them……..
Anyone Posting In your Mod in public (for the purpose of delisting)….DeLIST your mod IMMEDIATLY…
as it is 3 Division’s wishes So respect them.
NEXT
Warning’s for usage Playing and Making Large Maps
1) Problem)
First Terrain is changed Much wider than In normal Map’s due to editor and playing the Game..
1) Solution)
Ensure that when building on hill’s near road you build far from the road as the terrain will be edited or changed much further….
2) Problem)
Terrain may be changed after Building’s have been placed leaving Sunken or Floating Road’s or building’s
2) Solution) Flatten Much More Land where you Intend to Build Building’s and do not flatten again..
IF you have to destroy building’s o road’s to get the height right it is because you forgot about Problem’s and solution’s 1) and 2).
3) DO NOT TURN OFF COMPUTER AND DO NOT SAVE AT ALL
DO NOT CHANGE GRAPHIC”S SETTING’s
If you save your save game for that Game will Corrupt
and Loading in Will have these effects.
– Corruption of a landscape visuals;
– Corruption of landscape resolution;
– Corruption of landscape collisions;
– Corruption of the landscape grid;
– Misalignment of visual grid with actual grid;
– Buildings/Infrastructure/trees/everything else being either sunken into the ground or floating at different heights.
Simply not saving and Not Loading A save Fixes the save corruption as you Do not Save or load
Simply Leave your Computer Running with game running and let your computer sleep.
The game Run’s in the background While computer sleep’s simply pause when you don’t want to play
Converting A Map From 20×20 To Larger Size Or Making A New One.
you should read this guide on how to
1) get a Proper .PNG Image Ready for your Game
2) get A proper Heightmap.dds

REMEMBER……
Make sure your .png your going to use for your Terrain IS EXACTLY A 2048 pixel’s png.
I call mine i use “2048” making it 2048.png
You will use this to generate the Heightmap.dds If you Do not have one ready already..
(you can use one from existing maps)
Do not take other’s map’s Heightmap.dds or .Png Without their permission.
Step 1)
Go To World Editor And Pick a Biome you want your map to be….. note TYPE of Biome Can Be Changed later in Script.INI
Load it IN.
Save Blank Map twice Named
1)
Script (use this to keep empty files you will replace later for a blank map)

The map name you want.

Decide the Size of the Map you want Using Math, and the Script.ini (first few lines Need to have number’s changed) Below is the sizes for 2 Large size map sizes going from30x30(first Number) and 60 x 60 (second number)

Note only pick one of these numbers also no / otherwise it will not read the script.ini
Step 3)
Copy and Paste all file’s from a LARGE EXPERIMENTAL SIZED MAP INTO THE MAP YOU WANT. “You Are welcome to use any of the file’s I have posted for this(any large map)However I do not want anyone copying my exact map copy”…
Like you can use any one of my the file’s in any large map to get it to work…” however please replace the heightmap.dds and image.dds in the later steps to make your own map. (covered in later step’s”
(you need to download a large map to get the proper File’s) anything else will not work
Step 4) A)
Replace Heightmap.dds and Image.png you are using With a Blank Ocean Map Grey scale Image.dds and .png. Into Map You want. Load in the map. It should be nothing but ocean. Save.
Example image taken of the ocean floor Close to the a coast using a program specific for grey scale height maps for unreal engine.
Step 4)B) If you want to use a real life Location from the internet via sattelite.(such a the Unreal engine grayscale site descibed above.
Before you make your Heightmap.dds make sure to use a program to Edit your .PNG and “mirror it” and Then “flip 90 degree’s twice”
“picture Before It is flipped and Mirrored” notice it looks normal
Your Picture of a real life place should look upside down and the face the wrong direction now…
It is weird but for real life Grey scale sattelite images’s they need to have this proccess to be positioned properly in the game…
“Picture of Prince Rupert Upside down and Mirrored” (ready for heightmap as it is 2048 pixel Png)
Step 5)A)
Replace the “blank/ocean” heightmap.dds and Image.png that was previously blank… with the map Heightmap.dds and image.png you want for the base start of your Map..(please do not copy anyone’s map without their permission”

Load in your Map
Map should now look Like whatever map your .dds and .png combo you loaded in looks like.. and you should be able to edit all the terrain. if you cant then it’s because you forgot to load in you .png image in terrain
Step 5) C)
Replace The File Ending With .Bin With the one’s from your “script” or empty map to erase the big map feature’s from the Big map you are using.
Step 5 ) D)
It will need smoothing, Tree’s rock’s And resource’s
