“Welcome to the Wug-mania Achievement Guide for ‘Double Shot 2’ on Steam! This guide will help you find all the Wugs in the game to unlock the challenging Wug-mania achievement. While it is still a work in progress, the text instructions will lead you to the Wugs. Note: I am currently unable to provide screenshots, but I will add them as soon as possible. Let’s get started!”
Overview
The twelve wugs covered here will be found sequentially as you progress through the game. They are:
- Neutral Wug
- Cool Wug
- Happy Wug
- Sad Wug
- Glug Wug
- Jug Wug
- Bug Wug
- Lug Wug
- Chef Wug
- Cashier Wug
- Sk8r Wug
- Teacher Wug
Neutral Wug
In all aspects and objective way, this is truly a wug of all time.
The Neutral Wug is probably the easiest of the twelve to find. In the opening mission “Another New Dawn“, just before you enter the Chainsmokers Club, turn left into a small alley and follow it until the end. The wug will be standing on some trash bags inside a trash bin.
Cool Wug
An aura of confidence, baked into their veins like carrot in cakes.
The Cool Wug is within the starting area of the second mission “Initial Commit“. Before exiting the club, enter the pantry of the kitchen which is now open, and navigate the carrot maze within it. The Cool Wug will be standing at the end of the maze addressing a bunch of admiring carrot fans.
Happy Wug
This wug is happy, that wug is happy, now there are two happy _____.
The Happy Wug is a little bit tricky to find. In “Initial Commit“, after defending the Coronation Square from the Nakal skirmish, look at the apartment opposite of the Government Center. There should be three shiny bottles on three of the ledges. Shine your Recharging Laser at them, and a window will open on a ground floor unit, showing the Happy Wug dancing to a funky tune.
Note that you cannot do this before defeating the Nakal skirmish; the windows will have curtains drawn until after the fight.
Sad Wug
Oh, such is the life of a wug in these trying days…
After the first fight of the third mission “Charm and Trinket“, you will need to do some platforming in order to reach the rafters above the train station. Above the train that has derailed, you will find the Sad Wug looking over the destruction.
Glug Wug
Used to be this wug could, but not now, because of glug.
During the final fight of “Charm and Trinket“, there will be a lone Rambler idling underneath the cliff. Follow them into the cave and dispatch the squadron of enemies in there. Once the squadron is defeated, a box near the back of the cave will automatically open to reveal a delighted Glug Wug.
Jug Wug
According to all known laws of marketing, a jug wug should be able to empty shelves.
During the traversal part of the fourth mission “Double Trouble“, stop by the roadside gas station along the river and inspect the shelves inside. The shelves will be full of wug plushies (including Jug Wug plushies), but one of these plushies will be replaced by a Jug Wug. You will need to have at least $25 to pay for the Jug Wug.
Bug Wug
In all aspects and objective way, this is maybe perhaps possibly perchance a wug.
This wug is one of the more difficult ones to find. At the start of the fifth mission “The Perfect Syzygy“, there will be a computer that displays three shapes in order. You will need to find three different locations spread linearly throughout the mission and interact with a machine in these locations so that the shapes at each machine matches the order at the beginning. THIS ORDER CHANGES WITH EVERY PLAYTHROUGH OF THIS MISSION!
At each location, squadrons will spawn near the machines. Defeating the squadron leader will drop a key which you can pick up and interact with the machine to change its shape. After interacting with the machine, a new squadron will spawn. If you already have the correct shape at that machine, you do not need to . The shape cycles in the following order:
Octagon – Crescent – Star – Octagon and so on
The first machine is right at the opening of the first area. Immediately make a u-turn to the left and enter the doorway. You will reach a rather open room with the machine sitting in the center of it.
The second machine is will be after the cutscene with Lakita after the blimp crashes into the Genesis Tower. Instead of heading down the stairs, jump up to the broken ledge up top, and make your way across the rooftops of Vim City until you reach a rooftop porch, where the machine is precariously dangling over the sidewalk. Be careful when using the machine in this one as you can fall!
The third machine is very close to the second machine. After heading back down to street level, there should be an open sewer hatch on the street opposite the way you’re supposed to go (ergo go the left instead of right). You will find a large room with the machine on a pedestal.
Once the correct shape is displayed on the third machine (and assuming you have the correct shape at the previous two machines), the enemies will stop spawning, and a Bug Wug will descend gracefully from an open hatch above you.
(big thanks to Jordayne and xPolyPoly for helping me find this one!)
Lug Wug
Live for today, gone tomorrow, that’s wug!
The Lug Wug is a cool one to find. Before the final fight of the fifth mission “The Perfect Syzygy“, there will be an arcade game where you can shoot things. I recommend using the Adamantium Soda Can Launcher since you can pick up the cans afterwards to conserve shots. Play the game as you normally would, shooting the fishermen and sparing the sharks. Eventually, the Lug Wug will slowly roll on one of the lanes. Quickly grab the wug before it gets to the other side.
Chef Wug
Oooooh you want to try out wug cuisine oooooooh.
In the begininng of the sixth mission “Reversal of Fortune“, head back into the kitchen of the Chainsmokers Club. There will be a different pantry open this time. However, you will be asked to participate in a game show quiz about food. Failing to answer correctly spawns hostile food enemies that can pack quite a mean punch if they hit you. After three questions/fights, the Chef Wug will walk on stage and you can pick them up.
Here are spoilers for the answers to the questions:
1.
Cashier Wug
On wug if I get my [INSERT WUG LIMB NAME] on you…
This wug is also at the beginning of the sixth mission “Reversal of Fortune“. Go to the manager’s office upstairs. Keep on interacting with the computer until eventually the wug breaks out of the computer. This will take quite a bit of time so be patient.
Sk8r Wug
They were a sk8r wug, I said see you l8r wug…
This wug has a bit of a tedious process to find, but is still relatively simple compared to some other wugs. Throughout the sixth mission “Reversal of Fortune, there will be glowing wug sunglasses that you can find. These are very easy to spot and are always along the linear path of the mission. Collect all the sunglasses you find, and just before the final fight you will find the Sk8r Wug rocking out on the railings in front of the Floating Overgrown Stadium.
Teacher Wug
And to thee, I pass down wisdom for our future and beyond. After all, freedom must be fought for.
This is probably the hardest wug to find due to the process to getting it being as difficult as a mission itself. In the final mission “For Our Future and Beyond”, directly after entering the stadium, walk up the stands and follow a vine that leads you to a decrepit school hall. On the podium, you can find the Teacher Wug trapped in a cage frantically writing a book. Walking up to the wug will trigger a last stand type encounter where you must hold off wave upon wave of enemies. Use careful positioning by utilizing the fallen debris as cover. After defeating seven waves, the wug will finish writing the book and let itself out of the cage, allowing you to find them.
Conclusion
Again, big shoutouts to Jordayne and xPolyPoly for not only discovering how to find the Bug Wug, but also proofreading the guides to the other wugs!
