Welcome to our guide for Pogostuck: Rage With Your Friends! Our goal is to help you conquer map 1 with the best strategies. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this guide will provide tips and tricks to reach the end successfully. Let’s jump right in!
1. The basics
- Holding down X or A on you’re controller will allow you to jump higher
- By completing a 360° jump and landing back on your pogo you will be able to jump even higher (like in the image)
- If you fall from a great height but land on your pogo you will have a chance to recover, by holding down the jump button you will get a very big jump
- If you hit your body on any ledge you will lose all momentum potentially loosing a lot of progress, so be careful
I suggest you get used to the controls before moving ahead, as there is not fear of losing progress and it’ll help out later on.
2. Chestnuts
These chestnuts are quite easy to get over, all you have to do is jump onto them, one after another until you get to the top, at which point you can just jump off
3. Banana
To get past the big banana all you need to do is jump to the right until you reach the top of the banana and then just jump off until you reach this point.
The next step is getting to the tiny floating banana, to get there you need to jump off the far right banana to allow you to jump onto the floating one.
Once here I suggest getting a powered up jump (360° jump) and then jumping over the far right banana to get to the next section.
4. Floating rocks
First step, just as we did before we need to use the wall to help us reach a floating point, in this case the first rock, after reaching the first rock align yourself with the centre of the rock (the flat part) making the setup for the next part easier.
once on the second tiny floating rock you need to charge a boost jump (360° jump) to land on the big floating rock. The angle needed is quite sharp because the rock is already angled against you.
Almost at the end of this section, and just like before we need to charge a boost jump to land onto the almost horizontal bone, allowing us to reach the next floating rock.
Last two boost jumps, which allow us to get to the L shaped bones and then finally on the ground.
5. Vertical Bone
6. The wind
I will provide examples of angles I use to get to each ledge so that you can get an idea of how much you can and need to lean.
The first few jumps can be done without a boost, although I believe it is easier to boost, because it gives you more power and so it is easier to counter the push of the wind.
Next up is the hole, don’t worry if you fall in it’s quite easy to get out, after this gif I’ll provide one that shows how to get out, but for this part it is important to not go too far and take the jumps one at a time because the wind is especially annoying here.
Now, if you happen to fall into the pit, which has happened to me a lot before, don’t panic it’s easy to get out.
Once again, all you need to do is boost jump to get out, try to aim for the part where the wind loops on itself, this will help you get more height, which will allow you to get out with no real difficulty.
Now surpassing the hole can be tricky, but once you boost you need to aim slightly to the right and the wind will help you get to the other side.
Once you surpass the hole there are two ways of reaching the floating rock: boosting up to it (what I’m showing) or jumping on the side of the wall using it to land onto the floating rock.
And finally just boost jump from the platform to the land to get to the next section.
7. Trees
First thing you need to do is get over the little rock which is, in my opinion, there only to annoy people who are trying to beat this map quickly.
After having surpassed that bit we encounter our first example of what I’m going to call the wall jump, as the name implies you need to jump from one wall to the other whilst going upwards.
I know it sounds scary and difficult, and at first it may be, but this technique is very important so take your time, keep calm and jump from one side to the other.
Next up comes a scary but simple jump, a boost jump onto a ledge.
Nothing much to explain here, just try to position yourself in the middle between the end of the ledge and the ceiling so that when you jump you don’t bump.
Finally, the reason this section is called Trees, all this first part is is just one initial boost jump and then three boost jumps which allow you to get from one branch to the next.
Next section, let’s get past these trees.
Jump off the first branch to land on the third, and biggest one, on that same trunk; now use that momentum to land on the second tree and just get over it just like we did in the first part.
8. Grapes
Now, to give an overview all you need to do is jump from one grape to another until you get to the end of this row.
The trick is to angle yourself at a rough 45° angle which will give you the best chance of getting to the one after.
Now the banana, it may seem random and annoying but I assure you it is VERY useful, you will use it to get to the second line of grapes.
There are two ways of clearing this part, the first way consists in jumping on the right side of the banana whilst charging a boost jump to then jump back over the banana and landing on the grape like shown below.
The other way consists in jumping all the way over the banana and jumping back over it to get enough height to land on the grape with a boost jump.
I feel like getting to the next grape is so simple I don’t even need to show it.
Now comes the last tricky jump of the second line of grapes, all you need is a boost jump to get over to the “check-point” which is the end of the second line of grapes.
Now comes the third and final line of grapes, the riskiest one by far and the one that will give you most trouble.
Step one: get on the first grape of the line 3.
Next up charge a boost jump and jump all the way to the next one.
My advice aim for the grape itself, but you’re likely going to hit the stem, so expect yourself not to land on the grape but the stem.
Almost done, last grape we’re basically there. Just jump boost off of it to land on the final grape, watch out for the stem it may get in the way.
Final jump, it’s tricky in the beginning but quite easy if you know what to do.
Jump straight up at the edge of the grape so that you land on the incline, from there just boost jump off to the tree branch.
9. Tree
It will be difficult to see because of the leaves, so it will take a bit of adjusting, but the objective is to go up, first up the first 3 branches.
Next up, jump on the mushroom, WARNING: this mushroom makes you jump higher than normal, once on the mushroom boost jump off to get to the other side of the chasm.
In order to get to the next mushroom you need to boost off of the ledge positioning yourself right on the edge which allows you to get ” comfortably ” to the mushroom.
From here just boost jump off of the first mushroom to get to the second one
Next up a scary jump because the honey can really mess you up and take you quite far back, so just stay calm and jump FAR, once on the tiny section without honey boost off of the floating branch onto the next section without honey, that will give you a bit of a break where you can catch your breath for a second.
And that’s tree done, congrats, now we head to the pineapples.
10. Pineapples
If you’ve never tried this next section it can get confusing right at the beginning, all you need to do is, as shown in the GIF below, wall jump (told you it would come in handy) from one pineapple to another in order to land on the right one in the end.
Once you’re on the right pineapple boost jump off of it to get to the next fruit, and, just like the grapes in section 8, you need to jump from one to another until you reach the hole.
I don’t think it’s necessary to specify this but go into the hole.
Once there you will have reached the next section, the palm trees.
11. Palm trees
I suggest you watch both GIFs before attempting this yourself as Steam does not allow me to upload GIFs larger than 2 MB i had to split them into two, my plan is to, in the near future upload the clips to YouTube so that it will be more clear but for now this is all I can do.
The edges you want to hit are:
- Right 3
- Right 6
- Left 1
- Right 8
- Left 2
- Right 6
- Left 3
…
Once on the head all you need to do is boost jump off of it and aim for the second head once you hit the floor.
From here just jump off whilst charging a boost jump and shoot off left to the next section, the angle is very steep.
Congrats you’ve reached the mushrooms.
12. Mushrooms
First things first, boost jump off of the first mushroom until you reach high enough to get to the tunnel of mushrooms.
Once there just head right until you reach the end where you will have to boost jump over the chasm.
Now just like before boost jump multiple times on the first mushroom, your objective is to land on the left wall to wall jump from one to another until you get to the top.
Now comes the toughest jump in the game, you will fall a lot so don’t worry too much about it, my advice: don’t stop at the second jump, if you manage the first boost jump straight to the next, without hesitation, because that will make you fall.
After that go past the lava, then left to get to the next section.
13. Flowers
Now, the anvil, it’s an easy jump, but you need to jump at a very steep angle, so just take a look at the GIF and try to imitate it.
This next jump is similar to the anvil, just go to the edge and jump at a sharp angle, you got this.
Next jump is a VERY simple one, just don’t panic that you can’t see where you’re going, check out the gif and try to imitate it.
Then reach the next platform from which you will boost jump off of to reach the ledge right on top of you.
Now just jump from the ground to the first floating ledge, then onto the second floating ledge; from there jump off onto the ground to boost jump all the way to the next section, the Ice.
14. Ice
Once you’ve reached the wall to the right jump onto the floating rock, boost jump off of it and wall jump up the two walls until you reach the top.
Now comes a new type of jump, a REVERSE WALL JUMP
What I like to do is land as close as I can to the edge of the hole on the right wall as possible, so that I can then angle myself in such a way to allow me to easily jump onto the ledge I need to land on.
When jumping from one side to another, I like to lightly tap the jump button, this allows you to gain enough distance to get to the other side but also doesn’t make you bonk your head on the wall.
This is the LAST risky jump of the game, after this jump it’s just a case of mastering the last jump and that’ll be it.
I believe watching the GIF will help, but when you get to this point remember that you can look right with the right analogue stick, this will help you understand the angle.
15. EGG
You’ve managed to get to the end of the game, you officially cannot lose progress unless you try to or you mess with the egg.
Now the intended way to complete the game is to use the egg as a makeshift platform and jump off of it, but I find it unnecessarily risky and difficult, especially on your first play through.
My preferred way of completing the game is to go straight to the end and perform a new type of jump.
To get this jump to work you need to boost jump on the spot and then land as much as you can on your side, so that none of your body is touching but your pogo still is, this way you will be able to get more power out of your jump,
once you’ve gotten high enough jump on the final ledge, if necessary jump off and boost jump back on.
AND THAT’S IT! Congratulations, I hope my guide helped.
