While this guide may not cover every single collectible, such as cards, diaries, and musical tunes, it includes all the necessary information to complete all achievements with minimal spoilers. Plus, I’ll share some helpful tips on gameplay, settings, and where to find certain achievements. Get ready to conquer Metro Exodus and unlock all its achievements!

Tips for the game (or what I would like to know before passing)
I’ll tell you about time, it took me 53 hours to pass the game and get all the achievements (I passed the main story part of the game 3 times, 2 times DLC history of Sam and 1 time – Two Colonels). What and how long it took me, I will describe further as the guide progresses. However, it may take you less time (you can save up to 10 hours by completing the main story and the Sam’s Story add-on 1 less time than I did). I’ll tell you about how getting all the achievements can be squeezed into 2 playthroughs in the next section, but for now I’ll give you some recommendations and tips.
1. For many cumulative achievements (further in the guide I will call them achievements that do not depend on the chapter) works “trick” with saving and loading (by the way, you can apply to other achievements).
For example – there is an achievement “Spend 500 units of chemistry to clean weapons”. One of the options to get it – save before cleaning weapons – clean – load save. In this case, the game will give us credit for the chemistry units spent, but we will not lose them. What is important, the units accumulated in this way will not immediately appear in the stats styma (display takes up to 5 minutes), however, we do not need to wait, because as soon as we fulfill the condition – we will get an achievement.
2. The difficulty of the passage can be changed during the game. This option becomes unavailable at the highest difficulty, but in all other cases we can really change the difficulty through the settings at almost any stage of the game.
This is really a feature that I wish I had known about on my first playthrough. And it’s not even about the company itself, it’s about the DLC.
Let me explain briefly – by default, starting any add-on we will start with the same difficulty with which we last played the story, ie the game does not give us a choice of difficulty at the beginning of the add-on.
3. Do not hope that you can find all the diaries and postcards on your own, immediately use the guide, because unlike previous parts, where in order to collect all the notes you could look carefully around in the Exodus there is a semblance of an open world and all the items developers have placed in all its corners, so that you all these locations visited.
4. Do not forget to clean your weapons. In the first place it is necessary for one of the achievements in the game, in the second – dirty weapons tend to catch a wedge, which can play a cruel joke with you, because it happens, as a rule, not in time. And especially wedges are relevant at high difficulty level, so be vigilant. Also, do not clean the weapon and after installing new modifications on it, because your gun will again turn into a partially dirty.
5. I don’t want to spray more on the topic of small tips, like “look through binoculars” or “stealth missions are easier to pass at night”, I will only note that if you want to squeeze more atmosphere out of the game – listen to the dialogs of the characters, especially when traveling by train – from there you can learn a lot of interesting things.
Game play options
Option 1 – for 3 passes (I recommend the choice) – if you are playing for the first time, or played once and faintly remember the game – do not be lazy and go through the story 3 times. The first time – introductory, not so often focused on the guide and achievements, the following – just to fulfill the achievements. Yes, so you will spend more time on the passage, but you will feel the atmosphere and get more pleasure from it, as well as (which is important for our passage) to study the locations (especially relevant for the chapter “Taiga”) and mechanics of the game.
However, I advise you to do something for the final mission during the first playthrough, namely to collect all diaries, postcards and improvements for the suit, to pass all additional quests, as well as to collect all crew members (a small part in the number of achievements, but a big part in labor costs).
Firstly, thanks to this you will save a lot of time during further runs, secondly, during the same runs suit improvements can not be collected, and leave them thanks to the mode “New Game +”, by the way, running ahead, to get one of the achievements we will need to pass the game in this mode. In the third, the fulfillment of many additional quests itself will lead to the fulfillment of a number of achievements.Now to the details:
1st playthrough (I recommend normal difficulty) – find all the collectible items (diaries, postcards, costume improvements) – in future playthroughs it can all be saved and will not need to collect something or the second time. Also in the first pass I advise you to collect all crew members (in addition to 4 achievements it will provide us with a good ending), to do this advise in order to further runs to reduce time and do not spend it on additional quests.
2nd playthrough – pass the game in the mode “New Game +” on the complexity of the Ranger Hardcore, in this passage can not be too worried about the ending and additional quests, performing only the necessary to obtain the achievements, which I will further mark as achievements, which “does not depend on the chapter” . However, already with this addition actively look at the tables below and finalize the remaining achievements to leave a minimum of tasks for the 3rd passage.
The 3rd playthrough – the passage to a bad ending, with the complexity of the “reader”, in the mode “New Game +” and with the modifier “Iron Mode” (below described what it is) – for this passage I advise you to leave the following achievements – “Child of the Forest”, “Endless Journey”, “Iron Mode”, all the rest I advise you to perform earlier, well, or leave those that we are guaranteed to perform in another pass.
Option 2 – for 2 runs
If you want to invest in 2 playthroughs to get all the achievements, be prepared that the first playthrough will have 90% of the objectives, and the game’s difficulty on this playthrough will be maximal.
Details:
The 1st playthrough is in Ranger hardcore mode for a good ending with all the collectibles, extra missions, crew characters, etc. In general in this variant almost all achievements I advise you to get on the first playthrough. Yes, because of the complexity of it will not be so easy to do, but this way you will deprive yourself of the need to pass additional quests in iron mode (mode, where there are no saves as you pass the chapter, ie you have to completely pass the chapter in order to save the game.
Here it is worth understanding that every death in any chapter for you – is the passage of this chapter again, ie you can spend 2, 3, or even 5 hours for nothing. And you can die not only because of your own carelessness, but also because of a bug). It is also worth noting that on high difficulty is very difficult to get the achievement “Child of the Forest”, so you will probably have to leave it for the second playthrough.
The 2nd playthrough – with the difficulty “reader”, in “New Game+” mode and with the modifier “iron mode” for a bad ending.
However, at your own risk you can leave more achievements for the second run, however, in this case you always need to be as attentive as possible and have the necessary time to pass each chapter in one sitting (remember, the more quests, the more time you need).

Church – do not kill the sectarians. Pass the mission by stealth, knocking out NPCs as needed and leave quietly.
Merchant caravan – go through the stealth mission without killing.

Achievements we will get at the end of the game
Here is a set that will be enough to get a good ending:
Volga:
Church – go through stealth, do not kill sectarians, leave without raising the alarm. Bandits guarding the wagon – you can kill all of them, but don’t touch the surrendered ones.
Tugboat traders – pass quietly and without killing.
Bridge – also pass quietly without harming the sectarians.
Caspian Sea:
Do not kill Saul, who attacks us at the oil outpost.
On the way to the lighthouse stop at the ship, near which we notice slaves, deal with the oilmen, do not kill the surrendered.
Lighthouse – do not touch the slaves who were wounded by Gul.
Satellite communication center – find the photo and return it to Gul.
Water tank – do not touch the slaves, oil workers can be destroyed (you can also go stealth).
The dungeon in front of the Baron’s tower – do not touch the slaves.
Taiga:
Do not kill pirates and pioneers, with bandits you can do whatever you want.
Also, in other words getting a good ending is possible when at least 2 out of 3 characters stay on Aurora by the end of the game. However, I should note that this is the “minimum set” and these actions will not be enough for you to get the rest of the achievements.
The Two Colonels
DLC Sam’s Story
A total of 3 such skirmishes await us:
1 – at the very beginning of the passage, on the bridge, after meeting the Captain
2 – at the junkyard with abandoned vehicles
3 – after going down the cable car from the fire station
The first geocache – is located in the pool, we can dock to it after we leave Tom and take the boat. To find the stash – go to the jumping tower in the pool itself, turn back and see the passage below.
The second stash – is in the apartment building where we will meet the Captain, on the first half-submerged floor. Find the red door, to the left of it there is a hole in the wall, cut the rope through it and the door is open.
The third stash is in the same apartment building on the 3rd floor, here we will come across a closed door, which, however, can be easily bypassed through the balcony on a bridge made of boards. The stash is in the apartment, behind the cans, we need to shoot them and take all the contents.
The fourth stash is in the apartment building, where the captain and I will stop after the sniper attack. We go up the stairs from the apartment, on the wall we see a marker, from it we go to the right and find a way into the cache under the table.
The fifth hiding place is waiting for us in the hotel, after the Captain asks us to load the traps, go through the building until we come across the marker. To the right of it, near the wall, there will be a painting – break it with a shot and get access to the stash.
The next, sixth geocache will be pointed out to us by Kota’s scouts. They will also tell us a little backstory of the night hunters and their mysteries. The cache is located in a one-story building on a small island. The passage to the stash in one of the rooms, under the table.
The seventh stash will be found at the base of bandits, in the building where there will be a sniper. Here we need to turn on the switches (use NV to understand the sequence) from left to right: 2-3-1.
The last, eighth geocache in the pipe at the pier in front of the fire station, but it is blocked for us by the weight hanging from the crane. Going upstairs, we see an empty generator on the right.

Achievements whose gains are not tied to a chapter (part 1)
Revolver (pistol),

Do at least one kill of any of the enemies (human or mutant) and get the achievement. Cold weapons do not count.
Achievements whose gains are not tied to a chapter (part 2)
1. Fish – is located at the location “Volga”, options:
– Before going to the terminal behind the railroad train visit Prince, from his hiding place go further along the railroad track. There will be a bridge, under it a small room with a considerable background. Fish will hang on the first level of this room, on the pole.
– The second option to find the toy – go to the terminal, where it will hang on the right side of the boat-altar, in the room where we kill the catfish.
2. Sunshine – is located at the location “Caspian”, options:
– This toy is found in the lighthouse Gul, hangs on the second floor next to the bed.
– Alternative to the first option – the moment when we meet Damir, on the water extraction mission. After he meets us go with him, but do not rush. At a certain point (around the words “…Guil said that many people lived in these caves…”). Damir will find himself near a small hollow, at the bottom of which there is a remnant of a ship under a canopy, as well as a fire with two mattresses and the body of a slave on one of them. After that Damir will go to the right, but we need to carefully descend (with a simple jump you can crash) the sun will hang on a hook, on the closest to us metal pipe, which serves as a support for the canopy.
3.Bear – is located at the location “Taiga”, options:
– After the statue of Lenin, which we deprive the head, go to the first building to the right, then again turn right and enter the room, where on the window will lie a teddy bear, and above him hang a toy.
– Also this toy can be found at the Admiral, it will hang on the map behind the back of the NPC.
– when you sit down to play, calculate your time, because each of the chapters you will have to complete in one sitting. How much time for each chapter you need for the full playthrough I indicated earlier, however, if you have already collected all the diaries and cards, you can safely take an hour and a half.
– Forget about additional quests, diaries, postcards and other items – it’s all an unnecessary waste of time and additional options to die. I also note that the game in this mode is ideal for passing to a bad ending, because scoring on additional quests we will not get good “flashes”, and spoil karma quite easily (kill sectarians / slaves / pirates and pioneers (in order not to expose themselves to additional danger can always do it before the cutscene or before leaving the location), kill prisoners, for example, tied up in the beginning of “Taiga” bandit or later – wounded bear pirate and much more)
– your main enemy here is your haste, rash jumps from heights or into the water and (unexpectedly) – stairs (when passing the level “Moscow” in this mode, I went up the stairs to Aurora with the Shift key clamped, as a consequence of which, at the end of the ascent game shot me in the ceiling, after which I fell, naturally crashed and angry went to pass the chapter from the beginning, so do not repeat my mistakes).
