Welcome to “Escape the Backrooms: tips & tricks for surviving this treacherous game! This guide is filled with all my best tips and tricks for escaping the Backrooms. Keep in mind, I haven’t played all the levels or nightmare mode yet, so if these tips don’t work for you, I understand. I’ll continue to update this guide to help you stay alive out there! And if you do happen to die, don’t blame me, blame those ugly skin stealers. Good luck, wanderers!
basic tips for new players
for a new player i recommend playing in multiplayer so that the other players can help you learn the basics, i also recommend that you know those players.
after you escape level 0, your in the habitable zone, take advantage of this level as there is lots of flashlights and almond water around this level! the skin stealer will be another hazmat, but its only a disguise! if you hear the hazmat say ‘hello’ then run for your life! they cant open doors so run into a room and close the door behind you!
once you beat the habitable zone, use your supplies wisely! you should only use almond water or other food items if you NEED it!
tips on supplies
(moth jelly)
moth jelly is a strange substance obtained by spraying bug spray (first introduced in the terror hotel) at moths! (also, first introduced in the terror hotel). eat to gain some boosts! but it doesn’t recover any sanity! its not one of the more ‘common’ foods, as you can only first obtain it IF you make it to the terror hotel!
(almond water)
almond water is very common in the backrooms, mainly used to restore sanity, so nothing much to be used here
(energy bar)
the energy bar is bar of chocolate that gives you a stamina boost, it also recovers a little bit of sanity, and if your being chased, use it to refill your stamina so you run faster
(juice)
juice will gives you both sanity and a speed boost, use it to escape enemies
(liquid pain)
liquid pain will cause you a lot of pain! but itll make for a funny ending!
thats most of the common eatables in the game that will hopefully help you in surviving!
entity tips
(hounds)
we all know that hounds are held back with flashlights, right? but if you just dont let them see you, its completely fine! just sneak past them without them seeing you, and no blinding the weird hoodogs!
(bacteria)
the bacteria is a famous entity that first shows itself in level 0 (it also makes another appearance in the manila room) and its a pretty easy entity! just dont let it see you, and thats it
(skin stealer)
this one is a hard entity if your not careful! in the cave system, they get buffed up a lot! the best way to avoid them is to well, trail them! keep your sights on them until your safe to insure you get away and it doesn’t attack you! they also sometimes camp the way you need to go! (cave system)
(killer moths)
killer moths are giant moth monsters that are blind! if you see one, crouch! an easy way to avoid them is with the thermometer, use to find the moths and find routes to avoid them!
(party goers)
party goers are introduced in level fun. you can just hide under tables to dodge them, but you can just crouch behind them to avoid detection, making them pretty easy to just sneak past! so throw tables in the garbage and just crouch past them!
those are some entitys that are pretty common and are very dangerous!
hard mode tips
(singleplayer)
the description only says if 1 person dies, everyone is sent back to the start of there level!
(multiplayer)
stick together! if 1 person dies, they are all sent back, so just stick together! if you stay close together, either everyone dies, or no one dies! unless yall are to far apart of course… you can also just stay in the hub while one person does the levels (they take turns, or its not really fair)
nightmare tips
this is the main section of the guide, where i will showcase a good start to nightmare mode!
(singleplayer)
i have a strategy for those solo nightmare players! i suggest using stealth more often! when confronted by skin stealers or hounds, try and be sneaky and crouch past them! hiding in rooms works, but itll be faster to just get on out of there!
(multiplayer)
for multiplayer nightmare players, i have a good strategy! after reaching the hub, each player will go to the levels in order (any order you want)! one player will go to the next level, and the others stay in the hub or do some supply errands!
outro & credits
i hope this guide helped you! i havent many smarts or anything about the backrooms, but i still think these tips can help a person in need!
