“Looking to conquer Mridra, the fiery lord of ELDEN RING? Look no further! In this article, we’ll share the easiest tips and tricks for defeating Mridra without any unfair tactics. Get ready to level up your gaming skills and take down this frenzied flame boss!”
Tactic and options
Midra quite unique boss, with specific moves, requires from you some tactic to defeat him.
I think best option is stance-brek/parry option, cuz Midra doesn’t have a lot of poise, between his combos you have a lot time to use attacks and spells which give awesome stance damage. Stance-breaking option is qiute good in my opinion because many builds can use some incantation/Sorcerie/weapons/Ash of war to repost Midra, also we have two talismans which gives you +20% damage increase or increase crit damage by 17%, both are great and can well fit in some builds.
After his ‘human version’ Midra always shoots fire in you, you can dodge it, but combination of Flame, Protect me with Flamedrake Talisman gives you apportunitie to go forward with laughful low damage by Madra’s flame, so you can hit him this whole time. Whats really makes fight way esier, but not only because of fire damage resistance, but with Clarifying Horn Charm, which protect us from Medness, which very useful if we gonna take all his fire attacks on us.
Midra have 40% resist to fire damage and 20% to everything else, except slash damage which gives 100% to Midra. So Curved swords, some knifes, and anything with slash damage type you like you can use without any problem, but if you don’t like it you can choose any weapon you want.
In advice down I will speak about Holy Damage, but only cuz I preffer use it, if you play mage, or like lightning you can use these weapons, skills, enchantion etc.
Before entering Midra’s area we use spell buffs, go through fog, kill Midra in human forme, and instantly use Physic. After cutscene we go forward and use attacks with most stance damage, trying to balance between attacking him while he throuws fire and dodging itm to prevent Madness applying on us. In Phase 2 transition run away as much as we can, use fire resistance buffs and do same, trying dodging unnecessary fire damage, but attack him while we can take damage and not stack Madness. IMPORTANT we use heavy attack, or stance-break spells, our total goal is having +20% damage buff after repost as many as we can, it’s also proves our crit damage, so there we should stance-break him as much as we can.
Buffs
Increases attack and defense for self and allies damage +15% and all damage Negation +10% by 80 second.
Universal baff which gives all that we need, long duration allows you to focus less on buff management and pay more attention to Midra and his attacks.
Regenerates 12 HP per second for 90 seconds((Heals 1,080 HP Total)117 seconds with Old Lord’s Talisman and 1404 HP total healing).
Heal buffs never a bad option, and when we gonna some fire hits take on yourself would be nice have some regeneration to minimize effect by our faceroll tactic.
Increases Fire Damage negation by +60% during 70 seconds.
Absolutely great fire resistance, if you apply buff after phase 2 you can be saved by half his new attacks.
Increases Fire Damage negation by +35% during 90 seconds.
Lower damage negation, but longer duration. Can be used without any problems depending your stats, playstyle and tactic.
h2]Law of Regression[/h2]
Dispels all status effect’s buildups, buffs and debufs to you and your allies. That quite good, but high requirements and long animation can interfere using it alot, but I think it more like last chance spell, and if you don’t take all frenzied flame in ytour face you wouldn’t use Law of Regretion very often in fight, but still that quite good spell against Midra.
Lucidity spell relieves the accumulation of sleep and madness. Useful Sorcerie for mages, which have quite low requirements and FP cost, so can esily use nerly any mage users.
Preffered Weapons
- Requires
Inseparable Sword our main damage option, good faith scaling + holy Ash of War makes all holy damage buffs much stronger, fast moveset gives a lot of opportunities to give alot damage, use IWinged Sword Insignia or any similar tears/talismans.
Great damage, have bleed by default, can be infused or enhanced by any other elemen(You can add adittional holy, magic, lightning damage or frostbite, bleed, scarlet rot or poison) so here you can do and status effect damage, and stance damage at the same time, which quite rare combo.
Option for mages, great poise damage, a lot of frostbite, int scaling, all these can help you a lot. Also I want underline that most of mage great/collosal sword good enough to replace Dark Moon Greatsword if you don’t like it.
For +25 version
Absolutely incredable sword, Order Sword buff and you can easily break Midra’s poise, give a lot of damage. Charged attack also best in whole Collosal sword class, so talisman + crystal tear makes it even better, so I totally recomend use it.
Talismans
Clarifying Horn Charm raises Focus by 140/190/230, improving resistance to Sleep and Madness.
Raises attack power by 20% for 20 seconds after each critical hit.
This is new SotE Talisman which extremely useful in stance-breaking builds, with previous ones this buff makes your damage much higher.
Increases Critical Damage by 17%.
Optional, but very strong talisman,
mostly needs to miximize your crit damage, if you often stance-break Bayle that’s damage buff together with Blade of Mercy’s makes huge damage increasing.
Reduces Fire Damage taken by 13/17/20/22%.
Increases damage of normal/heavy attacks, charged heavy attacks, jumping normal/heavy attacks, and guard counters performed when two-handing a single weapon by 15%.
These Talisman is base of our build, even if you us none of the following talismands but those on Health increasing, or defence increasing or other ‘comfortable talismans’ cuz streanght of the Two-Handed Sword Talisman buff.
Increases charged attack damage by 10%.
Classic talisman for stance-breack builds, Zwaihander’s charge attack has long-lenght range, so boots this would be wery good option. Also this talisman can be gotten wery early in the base game, so probably you don’t even need to find this.
Spells
Great stance damage with awesome physyck damage and new dragon form buff makes this incantation optimal for Dragon Communion users.
Cheap, high range, can damage twice, can be spammed, all these make this incantation quite usable.
Very good lightning damage, awesome stance damage, hard to miss.
mid stance damage, a lot possible buffs which can improve spell damage, easy in using, solid damage.
Great melee damage options for mages, Midra have enough recovery animatuions after some attacks so this Sorcerie can greatly help you kill Midra. FP efficient, which also important in fight.
Great stance-damaging option, which have great range, shockwave which also gives good stance danage, so even if you missed you can give some danage/stance damage. Fit good in our stance-break build.
6 projectiles with 2(4 when charged) stance damage which totally gives 12/24 stance damage, that’s good including how simple that spell works and that this is range option with good tracking also make this spellinteresting option to stance-break Midra is you’re mage.
Fast casting spell with low FP cost which can give good stance damage, also can be buffed by Spiraltree Seal and all holy damage buffs.
Great stance damage, but slow cast. Better to use in Midra’s windows, after phase transition(and after same attack during second phase) and other attack which gives window to attack him.
