A guide with a detailed description of the Cidatelle des Morts map story quest, as well as all its secrets
Introduction
You’re no condition to fight. Stay on comms, guide us to Krafft.
And try not to kill Peck.
———————————————
Creation of wonder weapons and corresponding incantations
- Caliburn (Dragon / Fire)
- Solais (Lion / Light)
- Durendal (Bull / Light)
- Balmung (Raven / Dark)
But in order not to waste time before that, complete a part of the story quest from the corresponding section below up to three horizontal lines.
- First of all, you need to wait for round 10 until a specific zombie with a knight’s helmet on his head appears.
- This helmet completely eliminates all damage to the head, so you will have to shoot it in the body.
When you kill this zombie, a Stamp will drop from it.
With this Stamp, interact with any statue in the hall to get a specific bastard sword (the order is relative to the entrance to the hall):
- Right closer — Caliburn (Dragon / Fire)
- Right distant — Durendal (Bull / Light)
- Left closer — Solais (Lion / Light)
- Left distant — Balmung (Raven / Dark)
🟠 Caliburn sword
- Return to the previous room where the Jugger-Nog perk is located and interact with the dragon statue.
- It will light up and the sword will be inserted into the corresponding hole.
Now 3 containers with fire will light up on the map and your task is to take this fire and deliver it to this statue. Please note that while you are holding this fire, you take health damage, so hit a zombie on the way to restore it completely.
These containers are always in the same places:
- 1) at the spawn point
- 2) to the left of the spawn point (Hilltop)
- 3) next to the cannon (Hillside Ramparts)
After delivering the third fire, the dragon will ignite the sword and you will receive Caliburn.
Next, you need to light 3 large fires – the easiest way is probably using a cocktail Molotov cocktail.. They are also located in certain places:
- 1) on the tower, where Elemental Pop
- 2) on the central tower
- 3) on the roof, above the Speed Cola perk
- Once all 3 are lit, they will release large sparks that will spawn zombies and, most importantly, the special Doppelghast.
- Kill it and it will drop Ra’s Ankh.
- After that, a golden rune will appear on the right side of the entrance to the castle (Countryard), where you need to insert the received ankh.
- Kill the zombies next to the rune until the task is completed and a box on the pedestal appears in that place.
- This box (orange in color) can only be opened by hitting it with this sword (Caliburn), from which you can take the appropriate fire spell.
🔵 Durendal sword
In order to upgrade it to a wonder weapon, you must first collect 3 Lightning Rods:
- 1. Located next to the Deadshot Daiquiri perk
- 2. You need to inflict electric damage on the electrical panel next to the Speed Cola perk (Dead Wire or Shock Stick), then it will fall from the roof
- 3. Go down into the dungeon to the cave with the Quick Revive perk and kill the armored zombie. The lightning rod will drop from it.
- After getting all three, head to the tower with the Elemental Pop perk and insert these lightning rods into the jug.
- A storm will start around the jug, and don’t forget to pull out your sword. Zombies will start to spawn, but you don’t have to kill them – just hold the sword until it gets charged. Strike the jug with it to transfer the charge and repeat the process 2 more times.
- After all this, insert the sword into the jug and after a few seconds you can take the Durendal sword from there.
- Next, grab the Otto’s Horseshoe that’s above the barn door, right behind the Deadshot Daiquiri perk.
- Approach the cannon and launch yourself toward the starting location.
- A dark cloud will appear to your left or right, indicating where Pegasus’ Horseshoe is, so take it.
- Return to the starting location and near the left exit you will notice a golden rune, to which you need to add the horseshoe you just received.
- Kill the zombies until you complete the progression, where a box on a pedestal will appear.
- Hit it with the Durendal Sword to unlock the Electric Incantation.
🟢 Solais sword
- Once you take it, glowing Parasites will appear nearby. Hit one of them with your sword to make the sword glow as well.
- Head to the house on the right side of the spawn point and you’ll see a door with a doorknob with glowing eyes.
- Hit it with your lighted sword to make one of the four symbols on the door light up. Repeat the procedure above with the remaining Parasites.
- After all 4 symbols appear on the door (I highly recommend doing this at the end of a round with one zombie), interact with the door to enter the underground passage.
- Insert the sword into the pedestal to make the symbols glow and their projection scatter down the hallway. Your task is to see what symbol is displayed on the pedestal in a short period of time and shoot at its projection. Do this with the remaining 3 symbols in a short time.If you succeed, you will be able to take your Solais sword.
- Head back to the statue hall where you’ll notice a mini-projector on top, shining with a blurry red light.
- Shoot at it (and all the others) to dislodge it so that this light is as clear as a laser.
- At the end, the laser will charge the Paladin’s Brooch, so take it.
- A new golden rune will appear in the hall, into which you need to insert the brooch.
- After killing a certain number of zombies, a pedestal with a box will appear, which you can open with the Solais sword to get the Light Incantation.
🟣 Balmung sword
It is believed that this sword is the most difficult to obtain, as it requires knowledge of the zodiac signs and all that.
- Check out the “secret room” where the paladin brooch was taken from. Somewhere in this room there is a special object that has its own wooden pedestal with the inscription of the If you can’t see it for whatever reason, just poke at any suspicious object until you get a notification that “ANTIQUITY” has been taken.
- Return to the starting location, namely to the basement of the bar where the mystical circle is located. Interact with it twice – to place the found antique and to insert the sword into the hole.
Now your task is to substitute the appropriate zodiac symbol and group for the antique, depending on what kind of antique it is.
Luckily for you, there are currently only 5 variations of the item that can appear:
Note that you need to match the symbols to the lowest point of the circle. Also, the zombies will not attack you at this time, giving you plenty of time and opportunity to peek at this guide.
If you enter a combination incorrectly, it’s okay, just try again.
- If you entered the combination correctly, a purple rift will appear on this floor, and a purple orb will appear from the zodiac circle, approaching you. You need to lure it to the rift, which will automatically suck it in.
- After three captured orbs, a new fault will appear on the floor above, and after a successful repetition of the procedure, even higher.
- After successfully completing all three, the mysterious purple orb will return to the circle, and interaction with it will lead to the appearance of a larger rift, where the sword will go and after a few seconds you can pick up your Balmung wonder sword.
- Guide the Pack-a-Punch into the room and interact with the drain that sends it back to its original location.
- There will be a crow on the right side of this cave that you need to shoot (or you can do it by throwing explosives from the end of this cave).
- If you succeed, look immediately to the sky – you will see the crow trying to escape.
- Shoot it and a Raven’s Talon will drop from it.
- Head into the dungeon, to the room with some water on the floor (next to the room with Pack-a-Punch) – there will be a new golden rune to interact with.
- A lot of zombies will spawn, kill them until you complete the progression, which will result in a new pedestal with a box that can only be opened with the Balmung sword you received.
- You can get the Dark Incantation from it.
Story quest
- First of all, talk to Kraft, whose camera is located right behind the Quick Revive perk.
- Next, get the Melee Maciatto perk and in the Undercroft, hit the wall where you can see the blue light. 20 tiles with various symbols will appear on it.
- Go back to the Tavern in the starting location and find 6 bottles with Roman numerals – interact with them to find out the symbol they hide.
- These symbols change every match (and even save), but the order of the bottles and their locations are the same.
In any way possible, capture these symbols in the order they appear on the bottles (in case you don’t know the Roman numerals, the order is: I, II, III, IV, V, VI).
Go back to the wall with the symbols and shoot the corresponding symbols in the appropriate order.
Please note that if you enter an incorrect symbol, your progress will not reset until you enter the last 6th symbol.
Note again that the location of the characters will change each time you enter the code, or even on its own, and the more you enter, the faster the automatic change will be.
- After you have entered the code correctly, a red orb will appear, opening a secret book nearby that has no pages.
- All these half-pages are located in the Dining Hall, where the Stamin-Up perk is located.
- Look carefully at everything that glows red (except for the symbol on the floor, which you will need later).
- After you have taken 4 half-pages, return them to the book. You will see 4 variations of the eye symbol.
- Your task is to find the corresponding trap on the map, activate it, and kill a certain number of zombies inside it (note that the trap does not give you extra zombies, so don’t do this at the end of the round when you only have 1 zombie).
The traps should be activated in the order in which you would normally read a book (from the left page from top to bottom, then from the right page from top to bottom (unless you are from a country with a different reading order)).
To make sure you’ve activated the right trap, you can go back to the book and see if the symbol has stopped glowing.
Please note:be careful with the eye symbol that has 8 dashes, you need to find one that does NOT have a circle around it.
Also, the last symbol will always be in the room with Stamin-Up.
- After the 4th trap is successfully completed, a red orb will appear, leading to a corner near the Stamin-Up perk.
- New inscriptions will appear on it, namely 4 familiar animal symbols and the corresponding sequence (clockwise).
That is why it was necessary to get all the swords and their spells (Incantations).
- Take the appropriate sword and spell, go to the statue that is supposed to hold the sword, activate the spell on it, and perform the sword inspection animation (you can even interrupt it to avoid wasting time). The statue will raise its hand and start glowing. Give it the appropriate sword.
- Repeat this procedure in the order shown on the wall with the other swords.
- After that, light will come from the swords and the Mystic Orb will descend to the ground.
- Take it and insert it into 4 different devices like a light bulb.
- The first one is in the same room as the statues. Insert and interact with it to start the challenge. Luckily, you only need to interact with the green orbs that keep disappearing. By interacting, you send a mini-signal to the mystical orb. Once you’ve successfully completed it, pick up the orb and proceed to the rest of the similar locations.
- The second one is located within the castle walls, right next to the Arsenal. There you need to kill the zombies with the fire element (the appropriate dragon sword and its skill when charged will do the trick). Once you have successfully completed this, collect the orb and move on.
- The third one is at the starting location, at the left gate. Here you need an electric element (again, the appropriate deer sword is best) and the appropriate spells.
- The fourth is in the dungeon, in the room with water. Here you need to kill the zombies with a dark element (a raven sword, as well as the appropriate spell).
- After the mystical orb is charged in all these 4 points, take it and insert it into the wall where the animal symbols were located.
- This wall will disappear and a secret room will open, where a guard nicknamed Owl will tell the story. You should be interested in the Guardian Key.
Now all that remains is to activate the last boss fight.
I advise you to maximize your weapons, get all the necessary perks, and take gum beforehand – they can save your ass.
If you play solo, it makes sense to save the match to replace the Augments of certain perks. For example, you can take Dying Wish for Quick Revive so that in case of critical damage you can keep all perks except QR (instead of losing most of them), and PHD Slider for PHD Flopper, since there is a lot of dodging involved.
It is recommended that you take any of the wonder swords, just in case.
- Return to the starting location and insert the guardian’s key into the statue. Shortly thereafter, a battle with this Guardian statue will begin.
- The battle takes place in 3 stages, where activation occurs at approximately 75% and 25% health, where in the third stage the space for the battle will become significantly smaller due to lava.
If you are playing alone, good luck.
If you are in a group, then have one player lure this enemy to you, and when the Guardian kicks, the RMB (or R2) with the sword can deflect this kick without taking any damage. The rest of the team can more safely concentrate on dealing damage to the boss in his vulnerabilities.
Or use a super weapon from the 19th century – a drill.
Beware of fire attacks, as their damage ignores armor and can quickly destroy a player’s health.

A secret with a cannon
- Go back to the starting location and pick up the wheel from the cardboard box.
- Next, you need to take the blowtorch located under the Vulture Aid, right behind the spotlight that shines in your eyes.
- Return to the cannon and interact with the handle to repair it. Now you can turn it back toward the main hall to move there for 500 points.
But that’s not all.
If you launch yourself from the cannon 100 times, i.e. spend 50,000 essence, and turn the cannon towards the starting location and launch yourself again, your character will be launched directly into the bell tower.
There are 2 monkey bombs will fall out of it, and the ringing of this bell will serve as a big lure that will lure all zombies to you for 30 seconds.

A secret with a well
- Then you need to wait for a special round and go to the well to the right of the starting location. A Vermin will come out of it.
- If you throw a grenade into the well, it will explode there and about 1000 essence will fall out (along with story intelligence).
- However, you can now throw essence into the well, 100 units at a time, up to a maximum of 10,000.
They can only be picked up from the next special round – to do this, you need to throw a grenade into the well again so that many canisters appear, containing as much essence as it was put into it.
Since these are essence canisters, they can be picked up by any player, and they are also affected by various bonuses, such as Double Points or Profit Sharing gum.
Billiards
Shoot the balls at it so that they all fly into the pocket and you get 100 points.
I think this will be a common secret in Black Ops 6’s zombie mode.
Chess guard
- The first is in the cellar of the bar, on the second shelf from the bottom.
- The second is in the Elemental Pop tower, on the table.
- The third is in the passage on the second floor from the Jugger-nog room, on the table.
- The fourth is on the table in the room with Quick Revive.
- Afterward, go to the Sitting rooms and interact with the chessboard to activate the secret.
- A circle will appear around the table, within which you need to kill zombies.
- If you succeed, a large ghostly chess piece will appear, which will occasionally hit the ground and kill zombies. This effect will last for several minutes.
Free legendary GS45
To activate it, you must play as the character Maya.
- Wait for round 12. To the left of Vulture Aid, there will be a table with a transmitter that you have to interact with (it also sends signals in Morse code). Maya will say something to it, then interact with the door next to it to go to the secret corridor.
- In the corridor, you’ll be attacked by Vermin, followed by Doppelghast, and then an elite version of this enemy with the special name Laurent.
- Kill him, pick up the key from him and use it to open the door at the end of the room and go down the stairs to…
- After the cutscene, you will be returned to the map, as well as given some resources and most importantly, the legendary GS45.
Unfortunately, zombie builds don’t work for this weapon, so you’ll get a specific build without akimbo. But it’s a legendary weapon at once.
Free Power-Ups
In the Undercroft, behind the sofa.
In the secret room (Alcemy Lab), inside the sleeping room, where the zombies appear.
On the roof, opposite Vulture Aid.
On a construction frame, seen from the original location.
In the window, not far from Speed Cola.
In the ceiling, above Jugger-Nog.
On the tower, above Elemental Pop. You need explosives to throw something in there for a better chance of hitting it.
This boost will appear only if you activate all of the above.
It is located in the well.
Free Random Perk
There are 2 ways to get the “Random perk” power-up on this map.
You need to shoot 3 toy Mr. Peeks in a certain order. The best way to do this is with a high-powered optic.
But note that you need to do this quickly, as soon as you make visual contact at all (otherwise the shot will not count for some reason).
- The first one can be found from the tower where the Elemental Pop is located. You need to look through the lattice window, otherwise he is invisible.
- The second one can be found from the barn behind Deadshot Daiquiri, namely through the hole in the barn. It is located far away in another hole in the wall.
- The third one can be found if you stand in the corner of the hall on the second floor, on the side of the dragon sword and notice it in the tower window.
- After that, go down into the dungeon, into the room with the Quick Revive and notice Mr. Peeks sitting in an inaccessible cell on a bench. Shoot him and the corresponding power-up will appear next to you.
This secret will become available at a later stage of the story quest, as it requires all 4 incantations, and therefore all 4 wonder swords.
- Go back to the wall with the symbols that you had to open earlier. Take each spell and activate them to this wall. If you did it right, the row of symbols will now light up.
- After activating the 4th line, special barriers will activate at the exit of the rooms, and the player will be attacked by zombies, which will be 3 waves.
- After repelling the last wave, several ammunition modifications and, more importantly, the Random Perk power-up will appear.
Free PHD Flopper
First, you need to take 3 specific bottles on the map:
- The first one is in the main hall (Dining hall), under the table next to the red sofa.
- The second is in the Sitting rooms on the bottom shelf.
- The third is under the table in the underground water room (Undercroft).
Make sure you start this secret when there are no Vermin or Parasites.
- Go back to the bar and interact with the tray to activate a simple challenge. Zombies will approach the bar, and a rune of a certain color will shine next to them. Your task is to provide the zombies with drinks that match the color of the rune.
If you serve the right drinks and on time, you will receive not only a lot of essence but also the desired PHD Flopper.
Protective fireplace
You need to quickly light 4 fireplaces on the map in any order (but it will only work on the last one lit):
- The first one is in the main hall (Dining Hall).
- The second one is in the Sitting Rooms.
- The third is in the Alchemical Lab.
- (the most difficult to hit with a sword)
- The fourth is in the Tavern.
- As soon as the last fireplace is lit, fire sparks will appear from it, automatically targeting zombies and killing them. This will continue throughout the round.
This secret can be repeated every few rounds when the fireplace status is restored.
Rat King
First, break the glass of the cheese shop and take one piece from there.
Next, you need to scare 10 rats located all over the map. You don’t need to interact with them, just lie down to them.
- The first rat is under a stone vase at the starting location.
- The second is near the hole next to the Deadshot Daiquiri.
- The third is under the car to the right of the old location.
- The fourth is under the structure with the cannon on it.
- The fifth is under the chairs on the right side of the room with Jugger-Nog.
- The sixth is under a pallet, next to the ammunition in the main hall (Dining Hall).
- The seventh is under a chair in the Sitting Rooms.
- The eighth is in the secret room of the laboratory, under the table.
- The ninth is in a closed cell, where there are also zombie can be.
- The tenth is in the dungeon with water, in the hole where the zombies come out.
- Head to the room with the Pack-a-Punch and you’ll notice rats in the corner, gathered around an empty circle.
- Interact with it to place the cheese. The rats will eat it and several different rewards will appear, including a crown that can be picked up by any player.
This crown will stay with the player until the end of the match and will not disappear even when they turn into a Mangler.[
However, it is not known for sure whether this crown has any additional effect other than visual.
🎵 Special song
- On the table at the bar (Tavern)
- From the right entrance to the castle, hidden in the corner of the entrance.
- In a bag in the underground room with water.
As a reward, the song «Slave» performed by the singer Vicky Psarakis
🎵 Special sword music
