This guide is designed to help you conquer every single mission in American Conquest.
1. The Return of the White Gods
This map offers a classic RTS experience with a unique challenge. Two relentless native tribes continuously spawn units and launch attacks from the edges of the battlefield. You have two choices: either bribe them with 1000 Wood every few minutes to keep them at bay or fortify their spawn points with defensive structures, wiping them out the moment they appear. Adapt your strategy—will you negotiate for peace or crush them before they become a threat?
2. The Armada
This map has an interesting quirk—I’m not sure why it works, but it does. If you position your Pikemen in a square formation, rotate them slightly diagonally, and line up your shooters behind them so they all have a clear shot, the enemy will be slowed by the melee units while getting shredded by ranged fire.
3. The Ambush
This battle is quite challenging. I recommend forming a defensive wall with your Pikemen to block enemy advances. Use your Shooters to kite enemy units—fire, retreat, and repeat. If the enemy turns to flee, take advantage of their exposed backs for extra damage. This hit-and-run tactic, combined with a strong line in the back where you can retreat, will maximize your chances of victory.
4. Revenge of the Mayas
This map may seem like a classic RTS setup at first, but things take a dark turn fast. The enemy launches relentless attacks right from the start, lasting for about 20-25 minutes. Conventional defenses didn’t work for me—what did was retreating up the hill and blocking both pathways with buildings. This bought me some much-needed breathing room to stabilize and plan my counterattack.
5. Laying Fort Duquesne’s Foundation Stone
This map is brutally difficult. I barely managed to pull through by splitting my forces—one army rushed the Black Indians, while the other took on the Blue ones. After barely securing victory, I fortified a stronghold in the upper-right corner, forcing the enemy to attack from only one direction. Luckily, my traders survived, ensuring a steady gold supply to keep my army going.
6. The San Juan River
This map is almost impossible, but I pulled it off with a bit of luck and strategy. I started by taking out the Aztec production buildings early, setting up a fort right by their base. After destroying it, I pulled back to the ancient ruins to the left of my spawn — the perfect natural defense. Fighting just two enemies instead of three made things easier, but without any mines, resources were tight. Once I got some breathing room, I fortified my original position (where the mines are) and built a shipyard. With a cheap ship, I wiped out the coastal Natives and could finally focus on the last enemy.
7. Native American Uprising
This mission is brutal, but there’s a way to turn the tide. You get a brief moment of peace at the start, while the enemy chief travels from tribe to tribe. Once he reaches the last tribe, all the tribes will attack you, overwhelming you with thousands of units. The key to survival is setting a trap for the enemy chief. If you take him out before he finishes visiting all the tribes, you win. The easiest place to find him is in the upper right corner of the map, around the 4:40 minute mark.
8. The French Army
This map isn’t that tough. The enemy’s basically a sitting duck, barely reacting to your moves. You’ve got more than enough troops to steamroll them, and even if you mess up a little, you’ve got backup artillery to back you up. It’s almost a guaranteed win as long as you stay on top of things!
9. The Hunt
This map kicks off insanely tough, with enemies surrounding you from all sides and just 12 units to start with. The key to surviving is splitting your forces into two teams. Use one to lure the British out of their base and draw them away, while the other team sneaks in to capture their Dwellings and Fort. (Note: all buildings are empty on this map.) Once you’ve secured a base, that’s when the real fun begins, and you can start turning the tide of battle in your favor!
