Elin: Cheat Engine – Orens/HP/Casino Coins

This is going to be a simple guide to change specific values within Elin, this will not encompass every single thing as this would be slightly more difficult to find out. The best use case for this is values that tend to change, examples are:HP going up or downOrens going up or downCasino Coins going up or down

First off..

This is going to be a simple guide to change various values within Elin, this will not encompass every single thing in the game and this guide will likely not help you with static or very slow changing values such as Character stats or vendor prices.

The best use case for this is values that tend to change, examples are:
HP going up or down for you or the enemy.
Orens going up or down
Casino Coins going up or down

For this you need:
Decimal to Hex converter[www.rapidtables.com]
Cheat Engine[www.cheatengine.org]
GanExtendDisplay

Using Cheat Engine to change values.

First off download and install (or unpack) Cheat Engine.

Afterwards open Cheat Engine and click the Select a Process to open button:

Find Elin.exe file in the list of processes or applications

After double clicking on it should look like this:

Toggle the check-mark next to left to the Hex so it will search values in Hex format.
For this example we found a mob inside a dungeon that is going to whack us to smithereens within a few seconds as it overpowers us greatly.

As you can tell from the screenshot, in the GanExtendDisplay display, it shows that this mob has 498 of 504 HP left.

Now visit the following website:

https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/decimal-to-hex.html

Type in 498 in the field ‘Enter decimal Number’ and click Convert:

Copy the value in the Hex Number box, in this case 1F2 and in Cheat Engine search for it by pressing First Scan.


The address list will show hundreds of addresses, which is too broad to make any changes to values.

So in this scenario I hit the mob 1 or 2 times so it’s HP drops to 494:

Now go back to the website you previously opened and type in the new value, in my case 494 in the ‘Enter decimal number’ field and press Convert.

The new value is now 1EE, go back to Cheat Engine and type in the new value in the search field on the right and press Next Scan:

As you can see we are now left with a single address, double click it so it gets added to the section below:

Right click the value and click ‘Show as decimal’

Now you should see actual value in decimal and by double clicking on the value you can change it:

I just changed the value to ‘1’ so the mob requires only a single hit to be killed:

As can be seen from in-game as well:

I killed it after hitting it once:

Afternote

Now you’re asking, but how about my own HP, orens, Casino coins or even my own stats?

To change values for other things like Orens or Casino Coins, simply gain more or lose some by buying items or using them on casino slots. Use the same method as provided above to find and change values.

What about player stats?

This is quite a bit more difficult to find using this method as these stats tend to be mostly static and it’s not 100% clear if these stats are the same in the background as you see them in your character sheet or for example your Dexterity is not just 18 Base but 18.457754 (example).

Which then would require you to find out the latter value so you can find and change it using this method. Perhaps some other players that have weeded through the game files can add to this.

Afterthought:

I hope this guide was useful for some of you that, like me just wants to figure out the game at their own pace without being immediately blasted with one of the worst Ether Disease traits you can get, such as in my case Weakening (-15 Life and -15 Strength), which basically killed my build.

Obviously I could use the potion that is provided for free when you get your first symptoms, but after this is done, other methods are ‘hidden’ if you don’t just stumble upon them by yourself or lookup guides for them.

in my case I went for the Casino option, where I’d either have to buy the Casino Coins for about 60k orens, which I didn’t have (yet) at the time or play the basketball game for days on end to reach 3000 coins required for the Ether Antibody.

Either how, the majority if not all of these methods are hidden behind various long(?) grinds, at least in early game, which is just a pain when you’re only just figuring out the basics of the game.

Personally I’ve been mostly dungeon delving instead of using various methods I’ve seen used to get rich quick, that’s my next adventure.
