Welcome to our guide for Prominence Poker’s Solo Mode! In this article, we will break down the mechanics of the AI and provide tips on dealing with bots to help you speed up the process of completing the game at 100%. So, let’s dive in and unfold the secrets of playing solo mode.
Before You Start
– Level all the locations up to the 6th level (Max level) by finishing the stages 6 times.
– Beat all the Henchmen (6 level).
– Beat all the Stage Bosses including Mayor (6 level).
– Finish the Rooftop stage (Max level).
– Play on each location total of 150 games (50 + 100).
The last one (play total of 150 times on a single stage) can be achieved by repeatedly going in and out of the stage, without really touching the cards at all.
Each stage (location) contains of 2 levels. The first one is the Henchmen level and second being the Boss level. In order to unlock the Boss level, you have to beat the Henchmen first.
Each location gives you extra chips upon completing and the Mayor (Rooftop) gives you additional prizes such as; bobbleheads, hats and other outfits, depending on the stage level.
Once you beat the stage Boss, you step up to the 2nd level of particular stage, which will increase the difficulty. The difficulty increases the NPC players in the Henchmen stage (max 5 NPCs) and grant the Boss 10k additional chips to the Boss (max 60k), which increases the time spent playing there, not the actual difficulty — the AI do NOT get smarter or more aggressive.
Beginning from Level 2, the Mayor stage has a cooldown of 60 minutes. You can bypass the cooldown by paying 10,000 chips.
The order you complete all the location does not matter. You can (like i did) max level (6) one stage, and then move onto another without doing the Rooftop stage (Mayor). Til you get all the other rooms to the stage 6 and then maxing out Rooftop.
Before you start, I recommend setting the graphics up to Medium Low and turning off the Ambient, Venue Music and Voiceover audio. You can also put the game on windowed mode so you can watch a movie while playing.
Notice — You get unlimited time while playing solo mode. You do not lose your ‘turn’, you do not have to go to the menu in order to “stop” the game. You have unlimited time.
Understanding the AI
(At least I haven’t found a way to increase the speed of which you can go through the stages, but in the same time, i haven’t really been looking for it either).
The AI playstyle looks like this
If the blinds are 50/100 the computer may raise you before even the flop comes in. And when it does, you should know that in 9/10 of the cases, it has a pair. But it all depends on how much it Raised for.
If it raises for more than a 650 (whilst the blinds are 50/100) before the flop — it has a pair.
Raise after the flop (depending on the table cards) + (depending of how much of a raise) [6,5 x BB] = It has a strong hand.
If it raises by a lot whilst there are 2 of the same cards on the table — there’s a high possibility it has a Three of a Kind.
In my case, the AI rarely went for flush (rarely kept on raising while it had a 100% flush on the flop), so don’t get fooled when it raises by a small amounts (not according to my 6,5 x BB formula) and won’t let you force-fold it, because you may lose to a flush with a higher card.
The AI will always back down if you re-raise them by a lot, or simply raise them after they’ve checked.
Example 1
SB – 50
BB – 100
They all called for 100
You raise to (in this case anything more than +800)
They all fold.
Example 2
SB – 50
BB – 100
You all Called
Flop
They all Check
You Raise to 200
Some may call you, some may fold.
If you had raised to 5000 while all of your bank rolls were 10,000 — they will all Fold.
Example 3
SB – 50
BB – 100
Everyone called 100
Flop
One NPC raises to 850-1,1k making other NPCs Fold
You called
Turn
In this particular example, if the bot decides to raise again, you must assume it has a very strong hand. If he had raised to let’s say 450-650, it would not have had such a strong hand, and in such example you can push it to call more or make it fold.
Sometimes of course, there is a glitch in the matrix, and the bots go crazy by going all-in, where they hope for a straight while being 3 cards away. Or hoping for flush, while they only have 2 matching cards in total. Or thinking, they may win with a high card, doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, it is hilarious. You may compare it to bluffing in real game. Actually if you do compare it to bluffing, wouldn’t it mean that they are self-aware??
Simplification
When the blinds are 50/100 i always raise to somewhere between 250-450 pre-flop. This speeds up the process and very few bots fold to such small raise. Now one of those happens.
(A) – One of the NPCs raised my raise to +850. It now has a pair in it’s hand, but we do not know which cards it has. It will continue to raise you, til you get a better hand, you can use this mechanic to constantly raising it, racking up more winnings eventually forcing it to All-In, given you managed to get better cards later in game. Rest of the bots should had folded by now.
(B) – One of the NPCs raised to 600. It does not have a pair but either two of the same colour or one of the higher cards (A,K,Q,J). You can now execute the method of whether to make it raise / fold mentioned above.
(C) – Everyone called. Then nobody raises. Not a single bot has a good hand, will call you if you raise by smaller amounts, anything over the top will make them fold.
(D) – Everyone called. One bot raises by 400, forcing other bots to fold, it’s your turn now. You either call or raise.
(D1) – You raised by 800. Anything more than x2.5 will result in bot folding automatically. The bot calls. Now depending on the outcome (table cards) you may wanna keep on raising (by small amounts [250-400]) or make it fold at any given time (by raising by +1,000). If the bot does not raise on it’s own, by anything more than 850 — it will fold whenever you make a bigger raise. But if it does, raise by a bigger amount, then you should prepare for it having a strong hand and will not fold once you raise by bigger amount.
(D2) – You called. The bot keeps on checking. Meaning it has a weak hand, you can keep on raising by smaller amounts, and then raise by 1,000 or so, to make it fold by the river, so you collect the bigger pot for yourself.
TL;DR
* If the bot raises by 250-450 (BB – 100) during any point of the match, it has somewhat good hand, but nothing crazy. You can make it fold at any time, by raising by a lot ~1,000, it will not call you.
* If the bot raises by more than +800, it means that it has a strong hand, and will call you whenever you raise even with bigger amounts.
* It is possible, to farm bots for small amount of chips each “round”, by making them fold at the river, it’s a lengthy process, but when blinds are high (300-600) it can help you get out of a tough spot.
* If the bot has very little chips left, and you wish to execute the “farming mechanic” on it, it will most likely go All-In since it has few chips left, so keep that in mind.
* Those are bots, you don’t bluff them. They will only go in / raise if they in-fact have a good hand.
