Hey gamers! Are you ready to take your Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon gameplay to the next level? Look no further, because we have a simple guide for you to get infinite throwing knives in Patch 0.7, specifically during the Cuanacht Rebellion. Keep reading to find out how to use this glitch/build to your advantage. Let’s get started!
Introduction
This is a quick guide to a glitch I found that works as a source for infinite Fragile Throwing Knives, making Throwing Knives more viable as a primary weapon. This will most likely be patched out in the future, but I felt like sharing it so we can have fun with it in the meantime.
How Does it Work?
The Triple Threat bow shoots 3 arrows at a time in a forward cone, only consuming one arrow per shot.
Due to a technical oversight, this also works with Throwing Knives as long as Triple Threat is equipped as the active weapon, even while holstered.
Arrows stuck in walls can be retrieved as Broken Arrows. Throwing Knives stuck in walls can be retrieved as Fragile Throwing Knives.
Fragile Throwing knives can still be thrown, spawning even more Fragile Throwing Knives. Their damage is relatively low, but this can be mitigated based on your stats. (More on that later!) Farming large quantities of knives isn’t recommended, each knife costs 0.1 carry weight, and it stacks up quickly!
Broken Arrows are more difficult to use. They can be combined with Wood at the Grindstone crafting station to create Wooden Arrows. This is limited by how much wood you have and therefore can’t be done infinitely.
The Bow and Where to Find It
You can find Lorcan in the Cuanacht area, at a small camp across a bridge west of Cuanacht City.
Stats, Perks, & Buffs
There are several ways to make Throwing Knives more potent. In the clip above, you can see a few of these effects. The Marrowghast is Burned and Stunned, and I restore a small amount of health when dealing damage to it.
This is because Throwing Knives are affected by the relics installed in your equipped weapon, and also benefit from a few bow-based perks. My Triple Threat has an Incandescent Pearl and a Bloodthorn equipped, causing the burn damage and self-heal. I’ve also maxed out the arrow stun perk in the Dexterity tree, causing the stun.
Fragile Throwing Knives start with a puny 8 base damage, but through my stat allocations I’ve managed to get it up to 45. When throwing 3 knives at a time, if all knives hit the same target, this adds up to a whopping 135 damage.
The game isn’t very clear about which stats affect which weapons, but as far as I can tell, the extra damage seems to be based mostly on my Dexterity.
Misc. Notes
- Throwing Knives cost 0 stamina to use, so the only limiting factor is your attack speed.
- Throwing Knives increase your Archery stat when used.
- Triple Threat’s tripling effect also works with higher quality (Standard, Superior) knives, but they always drop as Fragile, so they can’t be duped.
- Triple Threat’s description says it requires 12 Dexterity and 3 Perception to use, but not meeting the requirements only decreases its damage. Throwing knives will still be tripled, and their damage isn’t lowered.
