Tips and tricks for earning every achievement in the game, the majority of which you can earn by yourself in under an hour if done correctly.
Basic Setup
You only need three unique connections to the game to earn most of the achievements. If you have a laptop or desktop, you can join as multiple players simply by visitng playwtd[dot]com from multiple unique browsers. I was able to play in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox simultaneously, and I believe other browsers can be added as well. Otherwise, joining with multiple phones, tablets, etc can also work. Multiple monitors is preferred but not necessary if using a desktop.
For the achievements to work as outlined below, here are the game settings that matter:
- Number of Rounds: 3
- Bad Word Filter: All (For an achievement)
- Negative Announcer Quips: Off (Saves time)
- Progressive Scoring: On
If you are playing with three connections, you will generally be creating quick, junk responses for each of them and then voting so that the primary connection wins (usually whichever one has the option to continue the game with same or new players). You will want to be sure you are working towards achievements from the Specific Answer/Scenario section, especially those that require voting. You can earn a majority of the achievements by playing 10 games with 3 connections in a row with the same players if you do it right.
Most players will already have some of the achievements, but it is still recommended to play the games as outlined to earn everything as easily as possible.
Game 1 – Blacklisted
Rounds 1-3:
Make sure you primary connection gets 0 votes.
Achievements from game 1:
Submit your first dub.
Receive no votes in a round.
Play a game with the bad word filter on (assuming you enabled this feature, easily earned another time if you didn’t).
Complete your first game of What the Dub.
Finish a game with a score of 0.
Game 2 – The Comeback Kid/Scene Stealer
You will be tying the vote; just make sure each response gets one vote.
- Your primary connection should get 0 votes.
- Your secondary connection should get 2 votes.
- Your tertiary connection should get 1 vote.
- Your primary connection should get 2 votes.
- Your secondary connection should get 0 votes.
- Your tertiary connection should get 1 vote.
Achievements from Game 2:
Tie for the highest score in a round
Receive all of the votes in a round
Win a game with double the points of the second place player (easily earned later if it doesn’t work out this game, just make sure your primary connection gets all the votes if not earned in game 2).
Win a game after staring the last round in last place.
Play two games in a row with the same players.
Games 3-10 – Rat Pack, Etc
TIPS:
- Be sure to win 3 games in a row.
- Work towards all the achievements in the next section while playing these 10 games.
- Be sure not to exit at any point or select “new players” instead of “same players”
Achievements from games 3-10:
Win three games in a row.
Play five games in a row with the same players.
Play eight games of What the Dub.
Play 10 games in a row with the same players.
Specific Answers/Scenarios
Win multiple rounds with the same response. Length does not matter.
Multiple people submit the same response. Single word or single letter responses work for this.
Win every round of a game.
Submit your answer within 5 seconds. Just type anything and click fast; you don’t have to win.
Use developer’s name in a response. This was confirmed with Mark Zorn but should also work with Kurt Wojda.
Every word in a response starts with the same letter (I think this works with single word responses).
Win a round with a won word answer.
Win a round with a response at least 90 characters in length. Just make sure to reach the character limit, which seems to be 100.
Submit your dub response at the last second.
Use sound effects in your dub.
Additional Games – Technirama, etc
Play 16 games.
Play 35 games.
Play 70 games.
Miscellaneous
Play a game with the max number of rounds (10). This should work with 1-3 players/connections, but should be done outside the 10 games recommended for Rat Pack.
Play a game with the max number of players (6). If you cannot create six connections by yourself, then I suggest trying to host a game through the official discord server. It only has to be for a 3 round game.
Play a game with max audience (12 audience members). My best recommendation for this is to host a game through the official discord server, and then to join the audience with as many connections as you personally can after the game has started (It should just be your primary connection playing the main game).
