Welcome to our guide for Vampire’s Fall: Origins’ achievements and mechanics. In this guide, we will organize and provide some notes on how to obtain all of the game’s achievements, as well as tips for navigating mechanics, dealing with brutals, and completing quests. If you’re curious about the game’s difficulty and how to tackle achievements, keep reading to find out more.
Introduction and Notes
The aim of this guide is to simply organize the achievements and highlight which ones might be missable, as in, you need to make a choice to get it or do a side mission to grab it.
The game autosaves constantly. No manual saves available.
You dont need to restart the game on new game+ to get to the Brutal Mazes, but the enemies on those mazes are so insanely powerful, you’ll need to rebirth once or twice to take them down.
Rebirth is a game mechanic that resets all quests (story and sidequests) and makes all non-brutal enemies stronger which also gives you better loot and gold after the fights and access to better equipment. it is recommended to ignore lenghty sidequests and rush for Rebirth, you’ll have to do this a few times if you want all achievements.
See: https://vampiresfallorigins.fandom.com/wiki/Rebirth
https://www.reddit.com/r/vampiresfallorigins/comments/gfx6v3/rebirth_guide_credits_to_ylia_for_creating_this/
Rebirth has several tiers, so you can rebirth several times after the first rebirth making things harder but loot better too. Brutals (including maze brutals) dont get the rebirth boost but all other enemies do.
A full story run, ignoreing the sidequests and using a shapeshifter form that nullifies random encounters takes from 3 to 4 hours, you might do it faster with practice.
I personally suggest you dont rebirth until you get an endgame weapon from the endless swamp blacksmith and maybe decent 10~12k rings/amulets, you will be able to upgrade these items on Rebirth using bloodstones but you’ll also be able to buy the better version with gold when you get to the shop that sells them on that run.
Have fun making the best build you can to beat the Brutal Mazes.
When picking a starting lineage, well.. all of them kinda suck.
Gold drops are usually between 10 gold to 100 gold so 10% is laughable BUT once you are on rebirths, the bonus starts to show.
+2% Item drop rate or dodge is nothing, then again that 2% dodge might save you a brutal maze run. The +XP% one is ok, i think, you can level forever but you need more and more points each level.
After XP level 60, the XP for next level get crazy exponential, plan for this, dont waste your points or you’ll need to respec.
You can respec your bloodlines skills and abilities in EastHaven town, by the docks, for gold, lots of gold. Easthaven is past the midpoint in the story but you can head over anytime, dangerous enemies on the road though, best to wait for the main quest to take you there.
You only lose some gold if you die, so dont worry about it.
Too much weight will decrease your dodge chances, you can increase your max load with items or skills, better find a decent necklace with max load, weapon damage and dodge.
You can only do a max of 3 actions of the same ability on a combo round but you can do unlimited weapon actions as long as you have focus. In a combo, you could do a Sharpen then 3 Backstabs then another Sharpen then 4 weapon stabs, if you have enough Focus for all that.
You cannot use potions during combat.
Equipment has no level requirement, so the only limitation on getting powerful equipment is how much gold you can get.
Shops sell the same items in every run, stats or items are not randomized.
Daggers give bonus spell damage and poison, Katanas apply bleed, Sword and Axes crit, Spears do insane dmg and give Focus Regen, Maces and Hammer stun. Both poison and bleed apply a % each hit which caps at 100%.
Easthaven has the best equipment for the first map but there are better on the 2nd map, however, you will need good gear to survive over there, best gear is sold in the endless swamp on 2nd map.
In Avan’s cemetary, Calvin sells endgame items like wings, helmets and after a quest, shapeshifter forms, very expensive stuff, the benefits arent as good as highlevel equipment, so i recommend you buy at least a highend weapon and armor before any of these. You dont need to go to the cemeterey to buy the stuff, you can just click on the wings icon on the upper left on the screen.
The prices of these items do not change on Rebirth modes, however, money becomes easier to get the more Rebirth runs you do.
A small note about wings, when choosing, keep in mind that the wings give permanent activation to the abiltiies that it says on there but you also can activate one manually, so dont think the most expensive set of wings is a must. So for example, the 18k gold model gives you 3 permanent abilities and lets you activate 1 more manually.
As for shapeshifter forms, the scavenger is really good to farm for bloodstones, you’ll need all the bloodstones you can get and the burning animation when close to a chest is a big plus.
Crafting
You can potion craft 2-6 bloodstones every 40 real time minutes, so dont be hesistant of using them in upgrading your equipment as it only uses 1 bloodstone per try, the more upgraded the item, the harder to upgrade it.
One bloodline gives you an extra potion crafting slot, get it early to start farming them bloodstones.
On your Rebirths, loot might drop as a higher tier, on your 1st rebirth, loot might be found as Improved and on your 3rd Rebirth it goes to Superior and finally, on your last Rebirth, the 5th Rebirth, you can find Pristine tier loot. This applies to shops too.
So, on your first Rebirth, for normal items like an endgame spear you bought at the endless swamp, you could upgrade it from “Basic” to “Improved” by clicking the upgtade button up top.
You could buy the improved version of the spear on this new Rebirth run on the endless swamp if you want, then enhance it with bloostones not sure if it would yield better results but I doubt it.
Thde cost of enhancing gear on Rebirth is still 1 bloodstone, upgrading from basic to Improved does cost 8 to 12 bloostones but it also has another requirement, to upgrade it must have been forged/enhanced to a certain level, for example, to upgrade from improved to superior, the item must have been forged succesfully 5 times. *Must have 5 bloodstones forged in*
Capes are NOT upgradeable, you get different tiers of capes by killing the Brutal God and reseting brutals. (See Brutal section on the guide)
Item Augment Aura
The aura gives you bonuses based on the tier of the items you are wearing.
For example, wearing all 10 improved items gives you +5% Weapon damage and +150 extra HP.
Most abiltiies only increase 1 or 2 units (% or dmg) per level, I thought the max level would do somethign special but it doesnt.
Backstab randomizes which hand to attack with, so if you use shield, some strikes will do puny shield damage, but if you dual wield high damaging weapons, it will maximize its use, if you dual wield stunning maces, its particularly effective.
Bite increases damage as you level up, I found it very useful to keep myself alive and also enemies cant dodge it, I think its considered a spell, it doesnt scale well, Im afraid.
Fracture is a permanent debuff on the enemy, I think it synergizes well with Bite and the debuff stacks, It caps at -100 armor.
Fortify and Sharpen effects doesnt stack but the rounds they are active do.
Might abilities get unlocked through special pillar fights not level.
You can only have 1 Might ability active at once until you buy Wings, the most expensive set of wings lets you have all Might abiltiies active at the same time.

Storyline Achievements
Minor spoilers ahead, mostly in the achievement descriptions, you can skip this section until you finish the game for the first time.
Since an achievement requires to defeat powerful optional foes, i suggest you rush through your first playthrough to go into Rebirth ignoring very grindy or long sidequests but you will need powerful equipment to survive Rebirth so I sugges you get at least an endgame weapon and armor/shield before going into Rebirth.

Survivor
Survive the attack on Vamp’Ire

The following 2 achievements are mutually exclusive.

The Hunt for Sava
Complete the expansion “The Hunt for Sava”
Yeah, you need to complete the whole 2nd map for this one.
But after that, that’s it, you can go to Rebirth now.
Marid is Southwest of Avan, in a hollowed out mountain/arena.
Brutal Achievements
Remember that once you defeat a Brutal, it will not respawn when you restart on Rebirth.
However, if you defeat them all they will reset and the new ones will give a higher tier cape (the ones that give capes) you can get superior or pristine capes this way even on normal but they get stronger each time they come back, they also give tons of gold and XP in higher rounds.
You dont have to redo quest requirements (like riddles, master hunters) unless you Rebirth, ofc.
Check this guide on Brutals on the 1st map.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2649098050
You can decide to skip the Brutals until you do a Rebirth run.

Other Achievements
World Cornerstones
Find the world cornerstones
Just go to the 4 corners of the map, best done after reaching Easthaven.
The reward is this achievement and a decent chunk of XP.
Brutal Mazes
If you still cant beat them, try progressing towards your 3rd rebirth when equipment can be upgraded to its next tier. Enemies in mazes do not scale with Rebirth difficulty.
Fights will reset if you leave the maze.
It is recommended to bring greater healing potions to heal up after the fights if needed.
If you are having trouble and dont want to Rebirth, you can go kill the 1st map’s brutals, they give a lot of XP specially after killing all of them twice but seriously, just do all Rebirths up to Superior and save yourself some grief.
You NEED Dodge Death bloodline skill. at MAX.
Mazes are considered Brutals and do not reset after Rebirths.
At the end of the day, your dodge and block will save the day, its RNG baby!
Fun Fact: Kinda weird most of their HP ends with 81.

I havent finished the heart maze but as soon as I do, Ill update this section and show my final stats, maybe upload a video.

After you beat the Maze of the Heart, you’ll receive:
Brutal Mazes
Complete the brutal mazes
Quest Notes
Each city has a master of the hunt, you cant access a master’s quest until you finish the previous city’s one.
if you need more specific locations for the quest solution, look at the maps in the next section of the guide.
Vamp’Ire
Do all townsfolks sidequests before killing the wolf beast or you’ll miss on them.
Avan
A hunter is found on SW Avan, in a small camp out of town, asks to look for Elisabed.
Elisabed is on the NE exit of Avan, on the path leading to the potion maker.
The swamp NE of the graveyard house powerful human enemies, be careful, if you can kill them, they give good XP and sometimes nice loot.
Hunt Master
Beast lair is on the mountain west of town, from the master go west then when you reach the mountain, go a little south.
The Sorceress for Delphi is west of a chest which is SE of the meadow mana stone.
That quest is ♥♥♥♥! the reward is ♥♥♥♥! Its a table of ♥♥♥♥!
Westwood Farm
Southwest of the farm, in the secret meadow: Riddles 3!
A1:Bubble
A2:Footsteps
A3:Key
Kamengrad
Nicholas can be found a bit west of the Brutal north of town, you can follow a blood trail to him.
Bring piercing/ranged defense, decent XP but thats it.
Erwin’s book box is not marked but its inside the council building by the northeast corner.
Getting all the damn autographs nets you 1000XP and 650G, worth it?
Last Wish, the hidden spots near the Taverns are easy to find, dont worry.
The taverns are on the roads, not in cities.

To get the main quest info:
Coffin puzzle Move status eyes towards the coffin
A Stone center east in the ruins, another north of the coffin, another east of coffin.
Sword and shield, center of town, south of a haunted house/malestrom.

Not worth the reward :/ (unless you already know where it is)
Niwokee
Southwest of Vamp’ire there is a small swamp dweller village with lots of fights and rewards but your visit there is completely optional, a big side mission. To start it, find the Swamp Guru close to the entrance and accept her quest. I skipped this in my 1st run, killing 8 dwellers was a grind but its good XP may be worth the 8 fights.
Walker of the Soil
This quest, north of Way’s Farm gives a lot of XP and gold, it might take you like 10 minutes, dont miss it.
Enigma
To find this brutal, you’ll need to find 5 riddlemen and answer their riddlesd, put this section here so you can look for them while you explore the whole map.
On the road west of the farm. Answer: Yorkshire
South of Yesildale. Answer: Secret Meadow
Southeast of the Lake in Dread Mire. Answer: Three
South of the Woodland Market by the 2nd road south. Answer: A rat
On the road, southeast of the Brutal Catacombs. Answer: Woodland
The riddlemaster is north of the Easthaven lair in a small house close to the east mountain.

There is a lady that can reset your ability and skill points for money near the docks.
The disguised rebel is always the same, quiet man south of the potion maker.
Shapeshifter is Fila, a man with a spear close to where the Cult leaders preach.
Kevin is camped south of the entrance to the valley of Mor Nyth.
West of town, there is a particular marker where you can fight the Abyss reincarnate, he is tough on the first run but a joke on Rebirth, you can farm him for loot and gold, not much for XP though.
He does get stronger each time you defeat him.. so maybe you cant farm him forever.
Fun fact: He gets bigger each time you fight him, its adorable.
I suggest you leave him be and farm him on your last planned rebirth be it the 1st rebirth or the 5th.
You get access to this second map after defeating the witchmaster.
The difficulty spike is real.

North of the farm, past the river, a bit west of Ironhold you can pay 100G to try and open a box.
The 4th box from the left has a letter you can deliver in Gordova for some XP and 250G.
The others are mostly crap.

Hallorms Ruins
Find 3 stones and touch them:
Stone north of the L in word “Halloms” on map, north of “O” and south and a bit west of the first onem, thats it, I didnt write down the rewards.
There are 2 more ruins, one south of the Abandoned Village the other one NE corner of the Forest of Haag. Doing all 3 ruin quests gives you access to a pillar cave south of the builder’s camp west of the endless swamp, past the mountain which houses the 3rd golem, defeating that will give you 4000XP.
Ironhold
A broken vial is near the 3 fountains, speak to the potion maker to do the quest.
North of the town, by the west side of the big lake, you’ll find a bone guru with a quest, she’s out of the way so you might miss her.

West of the “T” on the map, there is a statue that points east.
The hidden statue is south of the “H” under a dead tree in a swamp, reward: 2500XP.
The waystones the cartographer is looking for, one is near the lake that makes the southern border of the swamp, SE from the brutal maze bridge, the other one is in a shack near the west mountain, a bit NW of “T”
