Each level has 3 additional objectives, which you can check on the bottom right. You get a star for objective completed when finishing the level. You need to get all 3 stars in every 16 levels for 48 stars.
– Complete the level before Jan 1880
– Earn 24000 or more
– Buy 3 or more locomotives
Tip: Money earned by selling things counts for objectives.
Spend 48 stars
You can unlock various locomotives and specialists with stars by opening the technology tree window in world map. Get every 48 stars and spend all of them.
Use 21 Construction sites
Spend 47 Industry points
Building industry counts to those achievements. At the end of a level, demolish an industry and rebuild it repeatedly with spare money.
Finish a level with at least 19 stations built
Each location can have up to 3 stations. Build additional stations to get total of 19 stations.
Spend over 300 000 on a bridge
Amass money and build a long bridge.
Demolish a building worth 100 000
You need to demolish a single building which costs 100000 or higher to remove. There is one such building in level 5 – a palace near Versailles costs 300k to remove. Amass money and remove it!
Have 7 trains ghosting at the same time
There is no train crash in this game – when multiple trains overlap, lower priority trains are ‘ghosted’ and stay there while the other train goes through.
You need 8 trains for this, and the earliest level you can get 8 trains is 5.
After getting 8 trains, load some cargos so they can overlap more easily. Micro those trains to bring them at one place. Stop trains while you are preparing. When you are ready start all the trains.
Hidden Achievements
Spend 5 consequent minutes of real time paused
Spend 30 real time minutes in 4X speed mode
Play the game at 4x speed, and pause when you have to manage something.
Empty a full train
Fully load a train and click ‘Empty all cars’ button in train management window. It looks like this achievement doesn’t fire in the first level.
Have 5 Specialists hired at the same time
Unlock specialists with stars and hire them in a level. You’ll have to reach level 6 for 5 different specialists. Note that the high tier specialists count as different ones – so having Switchman I, Switchman II, Steward I, Steward II and Salesman works.
Downgrade a locomotive
Starting from level 3, you can buy advanced trains after some game time. Get an advanced train, click the train panel in train management window, and choose an outdated train in chance locomotive window.
Demolish 10 mushrooms
Some levels have mushroom tile – remove it with demolition mode. There’s one mushroom in level 4. You can quicksave(F5) and remove the mushroom (backspace to enter demolition mode) then quickload(F9). Repeat until the achievement fires.
Have 6 Industry points refunded to you
Have 102 346 refunded to you
After building an industry, remove it with demolition mode. You’ll be refunded an industry point and half of the money invested. Get over 102346 money from industry refund for Industrious and frugal achievement. You’ll get Strategic reuse achievement in the process.
