Guide to completing achievements in Transport Fever.
First bus stop
Place a bus stop on a section of road.
You get the achievement when the bus stop is placed.
First train station
Select a train station and place it.
I suggest a passenger train station for this.
I am not sure if a cargo train station counts for this.
You get the achievement when a train station is placed.
First bus arrived
Place at least 2 bus stops and a road vehicle depot. Create a line and buy a bus to run on it.
You get the achievement when the bus arrives at the first bus stop.
First steam train arrived
Place at least 2 train stations and a rail depot. Connect these with train tracks, set up a line, and buy a steam train to run on it.
You get the achievement when the steam train arrives at the first station.
First electric train arrived
Same as First steam train arrived, except with an electric train.
Place at least 2 train stations and a rail depot. Connect these with train tracks, set up a line, and buy an electric train to run on it.
An electric train requires overhead electrical wires to be added to the line. This can be done by upgrading an existing line with electrical wires or by selecting to add electrical wires to new lines that are built.
You get the achievement when the electric train arrives at the first station.
First line
Place two bus stops, set up a line between the bus stops.
You should also be able to do this with train stations.
You get the achievement when the second stop is added to the line.
First passenger waiting
Create a bus line with stops in different locations in a town (or different towns). Passengers go between residential (green), commercial (red), recreational (yellow) and industrial (blue) buildings. You can turn on the building type display from the menu at the side of the screen to show a colour coding of the building types.
Create a line and add buses to the line.
You get the achievement when a passenger is waiting at one of the stops.
Should also be possible to do this with train stations.
First passenger transported
Once you have a passenger waiting at a stop, the next time a vehicle arrives at the stop, the passenger will board the vehicle.
The vehicle will then take the passenger to their destination.
You get the achievement once the passenger reaches the destination.
First cargo item waiting
Set up a cargo route from a raw materials industry to a production industry and then to an industrial consumer.
Production supply chains are:
1. Forest (Wood) = Lumber Mill (Goods)
2. Oil Well (Crude) = Oil Refinery (Goods)
3. Iron Ore Mine (Iron Ore) + Coal Mine (Coal) = Foundry (Goods)
In order for cargo to appear, there must be a raw material industry, production industry and industrial consumer connected via a supply chain. This means routes between them, with stops within the range of each, and vehicles with the correct material assigned (e.g., wood).
You get the achievement when the first cargo item is waiting at the station.
First cargo item transported
One you have the first cargo item waiting, the next vehicle to arrive at the stop will pick the cargo up and deliver it to its destination.
You get the achievement once the cargo reaches the destination station.
Year 1900 reached
If your operating costs are higher than your income, you will go into debt.
If you go far enough into debt, you will be bankrupt and the game is over.
You get this achievement when your game reaches the year 1900.
It does not matter if you have loans, or if you have a negative balance at the time.
Year 1950 reached
Same as Year 1900 reached, you get this achievement when you reach the year 1950.
Year 2000 reached
Same as Year 1950 reached. You get this achievement when you reach the year 2000.
Year 2000 reached (hard)
Same as Year 2000 reached, except to get this achievement you must be playing on hard difficulty.
Easy and medium difficulty will not give you this achievement even if you reach the year 2000.
Transport millionaire
Reach $1,000,000 cash. You do not need to pay off your debts to achieve this. You get the achievement once your net funds are $1,000,000 i.e., your cash on hand minus your debt.
Transport master
Same as Transport millionaire, but you have to reach $10,000,000.
Transport shark
Same as Transport master but you have to reach $100,000,000.
Transport shark (hard)
Same as Transport shark but you must be playing on on hard difficulty.
Transport tycoon
Same as Transport shark but you have to reach $1,000,000,000.
Transport tycoon (hard)
Same as Transport tycoon but you must be playing on hard difficulty.
Penny Pincher
Same as Year 2000 reached except you can not take out any additional loans.
You can pay back some or all of your starting loan.
You cannot take out an additional loan even if you have paid off some or all of your starting loan. Therefore it is important to make sure if you are paying off your loan you have enough cash on hand to cover any upcoming costs.
Penny pincher (hard)
Same as Penny pincher but you must be playing on hard difficulty.
Truck fever
You have to reach $50,000,000 without using trains. This can be done with trucks and buses.
I think trams are fine to use if you want to, but I only used trucks and buses.
Train fever
The opposite of Truck fever, you can only use trains until the year 2000.
You cannot use buses, trucks, or trams.
This is easiest to do on a medium or large map with flat terrain and on easy difficulty.
Find a raw material industry (e.g., Forest), a production industry (e.g., Lumber Mill) with a town in between them. They should be moderately far apart and the terrain between them should be fairly flat (try to find a river you can follow to the side of, as it will be very flat/level there). Set up a single train to run between the 3 points, making sure that the stop at the town is near the industrial buildings (ones that consume goods).
Try and get several of these train routes up and running if you can afford it. To get the achievement you only need to reach the year 2000 with a single train and no buses/trucks/trams. You will still get the achievement if you have more than 1 train.
Antique
To get this achievement you have to keep a train purchased in 1899 or earlier until the year 2000.
I recommend not replacing any of the locomotive/carriages after 1899 to ensure you achieve this, however I think it may be possible to achieve it changing the carriages, so long as the locomotive remains the original from before 1899.
Ensure that there is no automated replacement set on the line as this will prevent you from getting the achievement.
If you run a raw material industry to production industry route (e.g., Forest to Lumber Mill), with a steam train and 5-6 carriages, the line should remain at least slightly profitable until the year 2000. However, don’t be surprised if the line is losing money in the later years.
Museum line
To get this you need to have a bus line with at least 1 of every passenger vehicle starting with the horse carriage through to the modern buses (last is the Volvo 5000)
This does not include trucks (cargo), trams or trains.
It does not need to be a profitable route.
I recommend to make a separate route and put just 1 of each passenger road vehicle on it, as the horse carriage will slow down all other vehicles, and make the route very unprofitable if it has a large number of late game vehicles stuck behind the horse carriage.
Due to the horse carriage, I recommend to pick a route for this that does not impede other routes such as cargo trucks.
You get this achievement once the last passenger vehicle is added to the route.
High speed
In the European vehicle list, I think this is only possible with the TFV train.
In the USA vehicle list, I think this is possible with a couple of trains, notably the Speedance Express train.
You need to use high speed tracks for this, and build a line where there is a long enough and high enough maximum speed to reach 180km/h.
This can be done on a medium size map, with the distance between the two corners of one side of the map.
Speed of Light
Same as High speed except you have to reach 300km/h.
This can only be done with the European vehicle list using the TFV train.
You need a very long and high speed track for the train to reach this speed.
It is easiest to do this on a large map, but is is possible to do it on a medium map by following along the edge of the map with a long sweeping corner (or two) following the edge of the map.
Flat terrain will allow for the high speed tracks to be placed without excessive costs.
You get this achievement when the train reaches 299km/h. The train does not actually show 300km/h. It does not matter if the train has passengers on it. I think it counts for the achievement even if the train is not travelling on an active line, however to make it easier to do this, you can add a station at either end and create a line just for this achievement.
City
Encourage growth in a city until it reaches a population of 750 people.
To encourage growth in a town, you can supply it with goods and provide passenger transport routes.
If you click on a town, you will see how many goods it requires and is receiving, and what percentage of passenger transport needs are being met by your buses/trams/trains.
It also shows if a town is growing or not. You need to provide enough services to grow the town to 750 people.
Bus routes between cities are a good way to grow the town, you can easily add more buses to a line to move the required number of people.
Metropolis
Same as City but you now have to reach 1500 people.
This is easiest on a large map with plenty of other cities to create transport destinations, though it can be achieved on a medium sized map. Pick a city in the middle of the map, and create routes to every other city around it. Ensure these destinations connect to other cities further away. Keep putting vehicles on lines so that every person waiting at stations are transported by your bus/tram/train services.
Complete coverage
You need to provide passenger transport via buses/trams/trains to cover 80% of passenger journeys in a town. You can click on the town to see your current percentage.
Provide lines to all neighbouring cities and within the city as well. If you are unsure where you can provide more passenger line usage, look for where people are driving cars to/from in the city.
This achievement can be easier to do on a town with few other towns nearby, look for a town to use in a corner of the map that has a small number of other towns nearby.
Crowd in a train
You need to build a train that can hold at least 100 passengers, and then have 100 or more passengers on this train.
Having 2 separate trains that totals 100 passengers does not count even if it is on the same line.
A train that goes to several towns in a row (or a ring) should have the required number of passengers.
You can stop the train on the route and wait for 100 passengers to be available at a station then pick them up, however be aware that passengers on the train or station can de-spawn if they are waiting too long.
No free seats
Same as Crowd in a train except you now need to have 200 passengers.
You need a train that can hold at least 200 passengers and you need to get 200 or more passengers onto this train.
You can use buses to bring people to train stations for the train.
A number of cities linked with a train line can provide plenty of passengers to fill the train.
The ulgy smell of success
To get this achievement you need to have 300 passengers waiting at a single station.
This can be a single stop such as a train station or a combination of individual stops such as a train station, tram station and bus stop, or several bus stops. The stops must be connected/joined together. To join stops together they must be fairly close to each other. Select a stop, click join and then click on the other stop to join them.
You can stop vehicles on the route to allow the number of people waiting to reach 300 people.
Be careful though as people can de-spawn at the station if they are waiting too long.
Cannot get enough
This requires you to have a single line with 10 trains on it.
I recommend to do this with passenger trains.
The length of the trains does not matter. The Rail Bus train is ideal for reaching 10 trains on a line as it counts as 1 train towards this achievement but is cheap to buy/operate as they only hold a small number of passengers
Glacier express
A medium map with hilly (medium) terrain should have mountains that are 450m high. You can check the elevation by counting the number of contour lines (the river is 0 elevation). Contour lines can be turned on by the icon on the side of the screen.
You need to build a train line that winds its way up the mountain to the very top. If you need a bit more height to reach 450m, you can use a bridge from the top of the mountain to get the extra height needed, though there is no elevation indicator for a bridge (that I know of at least).
You then need to send a train across this track. You get the achievement when the train reaches 450m height. It does not matter if the train has passengers/cargo on it or not.
Mass production
To get this achievement you need to have a raw material or production industry site reach the maximum of 400 production.
Industries start at 25 production, and when they reach 80% of the maximum, the industry will upgrade in 6 months time.
Likewise, if an industry drops below 20% of the maximum, the industry will downgrade in 6 months time.
The production levels that industries can have are:
– 25
– 50
– 100
– 200
– 400
To reach 400 production, I suggest to pick a production industry such as a Lumber Mill, and set up cargo lines for goods to several nearby towns.
You can check the towns to see how many goods they require. The total number of goods required must be more than 400.
You also need to ensure a sufficient supply of raw material (e.g., Wood), a cargo train from the nearest suitable raw material industry is recommended.
Be aware that other production industries may compete with the one you are trying to reach 400 capacity, it is therefore advisable to not have any other cargo sources sending to the towns that are being used for this achievement.
Heavily loaded
You first need to buy a train capable of holding 250 cargo or more. Having 2 separate trains that totals 250 cargo does not count even if it is on the same line. The train needs to run on a route that has sufficient cargo demand to reach 250 cargo on the train. This can be done by combining several different cargo types for different production industries or by having a single production industry with a very high amount of production.
If you are using multiple production industries, it is recommended to have only 1 of each type i.e., a Lumber Mill, an Oil Refinery, and a Foundry. If you have multiple of the same type, this can result in material being picked up and dropped off in unexpected locations. It can also confuse the demand calculation and result in no cargo being sent to the line from some of the industries.
I recommend using a single production industry with a very high amount of production (350-400). Once the train is running at the 350+ production on the line, set the line for the train to ‘Full Load’. You will get this achievement when the train has 250 cargo on it.
Industrialist
This achievement requires you to satisfy the demand for goods in every town on the map.
You do not need to use every industrial building on the map to do this, some can be left at 0 production.
I recommend to have dedicated raw material industries for every production industry that you are using, and to have a single production industry supplying each town on the map.
if a production industry has more than 400 demand on it, the demand will not be reallocated to another production industry, it will instead leave a town short of goods and you won’t get the achievement.
Similarly if a raw material industry has more than 400 demand on it, the goods production industry will be short of supply, it will not take raw materials from other sites.
If production industries are both supplying a town with goods, the demand will be split across the two industries based on the fastest line to the town. This can cause towns to be short of goods even though there is plenty of production capacity available.
Be aware of cargo de-spawning due to too much cargo waiting at a station (stations have limited storage, after which any additional cargo will de-spawn) and also due to too long travel time to the destination. Keep the lines short and vehicles spaced evenly to minimise the amount of cargo de-spawning. If cargo is de-spawning, you will not be supplying enough cargo to a town.
You get this achievement once the last goods is on its way to the town (not on arrival to the town). It will therefore be less than 100% goods demand satisfied when the achievement conditions are met, and not actually show all the goods demand for the town as being satisfied when you click on the town.
You can turn on display cargo from the menu on the side of the screen. This will show an icon for wood/oil/iron ore/coal/goods when they are moving in the game.
