Intro
Control Tip
In order to use items like keys you need to hover the mouse over the door/chest and then press TAB and left or right click the item in your inventory.
To equip a weapon or use a first aid kit, right click it in your inventory. This does NOT pause the game.
Endings/Save Scumming
There are two endings to the game. You can save scum and make a copy of your save file located in %appdata% > LocalLow > Blazes after you find the little girl to save time on replaying the game. You do have to fight the final boss again though.
If you don’t prefer to save scum, your 2nd playthrough will be much faster since you know your way. I found it took less than an hour on my 2nd run.
Prologue
– Turn on your flashlight and grab the document (1) from the nearby desk
– Leave the room and head down the stairs across from you (ish)
– Follow the winding corridor until you reach another room
– There is a glass cabinet on the left. Open it and grab the golden key from the mouth of the doll head
– Turn around and head over to the the table
– Grab the document (2) on the table and then the gramophone arm
DANGER NOTICE
– Run from the kid bursting from the cabinet back upstairs. Left click repeatedly if he gets you and just keep running. I believe this gets you the First Meeting achievement.
– Once you’re back upstairs, open the ornate door straight ahead (slight right) that we didn’t go in yet
– After the cut scene that plays, open the drawer straight ahead with the golden key, and grab the vinyl disc
DANGER NOTICE
– Start to head to the starting bedroom to the right from the room we are in now but the kid will be waiting in there
– Kite him back into the opening between the rooms and run around him
– Use the vinyl record on the gramophone to end the chapter
The road to Stonebridge achievement for finishing the chapter.
The House (Chapter 1)
– Grab the document (3) pinned at the front door of the house
– Go left around the house until you get to an electrical box
– Open it and set the levers from top to bottom to: bottom, top, middle
– This turned on the electricity in the house getting you Let the light burn achievement
– Head to the front door and open it with the key in your inventory
– Go in the den on the right
– Grab the document (4) on the table
– Head further into an office space
– Straight ahead is a cabinet, grab a small key from the bowl
– Move the sliding door on the cabinet and get the document (5) inside
– Open the safe using code 4522 and grab the diary for Nelson’s Diary achievement
– Make sure to also grab the rusty key inside the safe and then return to the main entryway
– From the entryway, head down the left side beside the stairs to a bedroom
– Interact with the pillow to move it and grab a knife
– Open the chest in the back left corner of the room using the small key
– Grab the diary for the Handmaid’s Diary achievement
– Return to the entryway
– Go into the left door into the kitchen
– At the back is a jammed cabinet. Use the knife to pry it open and get the plunger
– Return to the entryway and head up to the 2nd floor
– Head into the bathroom on the right and use the plunger on the toilet to get a star key
– Leave the bathroom and head straight across to the child’s bedroom
– Grab the documents on the table (6) and bed (7)
– Use the star key on the chest to get the treasure map (8) and Treasure map achievement
– Leave this room and head to the right to the other bedroom
– Grab the shovel inside and leave the room
– Head across the hall to the final room
DANGER NOTICE
– Interact with the gramophone for the Damned gramophone achievement but it will spawn a monster
– Run out of the room and continue down the stairs and out of the house and it will despawn the monster
– Head towards the gate but then head to the right corner where there is a rock (you might trigger a cutscene with the monster flinging a car – don’t worry you’re safe now)
– Use the shovel on the interact spot on the ground for a cipher we aren’t using but is document 9 and gets us the Treasure achievement
– Next go to the shed in the left corner near the gate
– Use the rusty key to enter
– Grab the crowbar on the ground and immediately use it on the crate to get the vinyl record and the Bones achievement
DANGER NOTICE
– Once you leave the shed, creatures will spawn by the house.
– Kite them towards the corner with the rock and then run back to the house and enter to be safe
– Head back upstairs to the room with the gramophone and use the record on it to end the chapter
A Nightmare? (Chapter 2)
– Head straight across to door ahead of your and grab the document (10) on the desk with the gramophone
– Leave the room and head right and down the stairs and through the twisty corridor
– Once you come to the next room, grab the hammer from the hand of the mannequin right in front of you for both a weapon (woo) and the Hammer achievement
– Turn to your right and grab the first aid kit from the cabinet with the radio
– Head down the dark long corridor near where the mannequin is
– Go straight until you get to a door
– Inside is a document (11) on the desk and make note that the gramophone is in here – we will be back at the end of the chapter
DANGER NOTICE
– Make sure you equip the hammer by right clicking it before the next steps if you haven’t already
– Leave the room and head right
– You will see a creature at the end of the hall. As you approach it will attack you but just a little and it will disappear immediately so just let it do it’s thing
– Continue down the stairs and into water
– There will be a creature running to the left, follow the direction it went
DANGER NOTICE
– Continue along the path to the fountain
– A creature will pop out once you’re close enough – hit it about 6? times to kill it. It will do damage but you should be able to kill it before it kills you. This will get you the Who lives in the fountain? achievement
– Heal using the first aid kit after the fight by right clicking it in your inventory
– Grab the mannequin arms from the fountain and backtrack to the room where you got the hammer with the blood stain
– Follow the blood stain on the floor to a room
– Inside, give the armless mannequin arms to receive a music box and the Prayer mannequins achievement
– Head back down the twisty corridor back upstairs to the room with the creepy doll and first document
– Go to the doll and use the music box to get a key and the Doll achievement
DANGER NOTICE
– Leave the room and there is a creature at the stairs
– Kill her with the hammer for the Who is she? achievement – if you die later, you can just avoid her by kiting her through the starting bedroom and doing a loop around the piece of furniture in the way on the floor
– Continue down through the twisty corridor to the room with the bloodstain
– Use the key on the door at the end of the room past the blood stain
DANGER NOTICE
– Enter into the room and almost immediately to your left is a crank in one of the hands
– Grab the key, move slightly forward until the music changes and run out the room
– To the left is a stone slab on the wall. Use the crank on the stone slab
– Go back into the room and you’ll see a dead monster on the ground
– Wait for the spikes to recede and continue to the end of the room
– Hit the padlock about 4 with the hammer and enter the next room
– Grab the baseball bat for the Baseball bat achievement
– Inside the drawer is a first aid kit, grab it and use it if you have a lot of blood on screen
– Finally, grab the vinyl record from the bed
DANGER NOTICE
– Mentally prepare yourself for what I found to be the toughest fight because there is no space to reposition by equipping your new bat
– Return to the hallway of arms but now there is a creature waiting for you
– It takes about 10 hits to kill, try to back up and dodge attacks after hitting it and use the first aid kit if you get hit 3 times – good luck
– Once it is defeated, go down the dark corridor to the room with the gramophone
– Use the record to end the chapter
The Church (Chapter 3)
– Equip it and leave the room
– Head forwards to the church and pick up the document (12) on the ground
– Continue around the right side of the church and through a hole in the back of the fence
– Keep following the path to a house
– Inside the house, head to the right room and grab the document (13) on the table
– Head up the stairs and grab the final document on the cabinet to the right getting you the Documents achievement
– Continue on the 2nd floor to a bedroom
– Grab the first aid kit, shotgun shells and open the safe using 1973 – hit w to open the safe
– Grab the key and backtrack to the church
– Use the key on the church doors
– Head forwards and interact with the coffin for the Who is in the coffin? achievement
– Grab the puzzle piece and leave the church
DANGER NOTICE
– Head straight like your heading back towards the starting house but then take the path to your right into a graveyard
– Inside the graveyard is a creature who takes about 7-8 shot to kill. Try not to waste shots because I’m not sure where any other ammo is at this point
– Once he’s dead, put the puzzle piece in the door of the crypt
– Solve the puzzle. Set up the pieces in the following order: bottom right, bottom left, middle, top, outside. This will get you The mysterious door achievement
This also essentially ends this chapter.
Boss Fight and Endings
– Sit through a brutally long and awkward cutscene and then get the last vinyl record and The last record achievement
DANGER NOTICE – BOSS FIGHT
– Leave the crypt and head towards the house that you started chapter 3 in but you’ll be interrupted by a boss fight cutscene
– Head to the church instead and look for shotgun shells on the ground because you;ll be out from the last creature you fought. There should be lots but try not to linger too long as the boss will catch up and hit you
– Generally the boss fight is super easy since you have space to run. I just held run and moved backwards between shooting him and reloading
– Hit him about 4-6 times (I forget) and he will run off
– Quickly try to grab two more shotgun shells before mannequin enemies will appear
– Be careful, they will spawn all over so keep moving and let them gather into a clump and just back up and take them out
– Once they are all defeated the boss will return and after just 3-4 more shots, he will be dead!
Now it’s ending time
– Return to the house (straight from the church not the one through the fence hole)
– Once in this room you have the ending choice
1. Shoot the girl for Is this a monster? achievement and then play the record for The ritual failed achievement
or
2. Just play the record for The ritual was a success achievement
