Looking for a comprehensive guide to help you navigate through The Painscreek Killings? Look no further! This walkthrough covers everything from finding diaries and newspapers to unlocking achievements on Steam, all in one playthrough. Get ready to conquer the game with our complete guide.
Introduction
The default control in the game is simple:
WASD – walking;
Left mouse button – interaction with objects;
Right mouse button – zoom in;
F – pick up the item;
P – go to the section with photos;
M – go to the maps section;
I – go to inventory;
J – go to the journal;
L – Turn on/off the flashlight;
Left Shift – running;
Left Control – sit down;
R – read diaries;
Esc – exit to the menu.
To open various locks, you need to point the pointer at the keyhole or its equivalent. When the “Unlock” sign lights up, you need to enter the inventory by pressing the default I key and select the desired key.
Since there will be no interaction with other characters in the game, a large amount of information will be presented in text form. The main part of it will be saved in the journal in the form of diaries, newspapers, and letters. However, some objects (notes, announcements) cannot be placed in the journal. In this case, a camera with endless film comes to the rescue. In the walkthrough will separately indicate the points that it is advisable to photograph, at least for the sake of interest.
For a deeper immersion in the storyline, it is recommended to read all diaries, letters and other sources of information, as well as make some notes for yourself. There will be a lot of characters in the game, it can be problematic to immediately remember who is who.
Also try to keep track of the chronology and dates of various events. The whole story is quite widely spaced in time. Separately, I note that all dates in the game have an American format, that is, month/day/year.
Please also note that English is not my native language. Therefore, please report any inaccuracies in the wording.
Let’s go!
Training
So, our main goals are to find out who killed, why, and with what weapon. And also provide a photo for the main page of the newspaper. We will learn about all this in a letter from the editor-in-chief in the very first second of the game.
Close the letter. At the beginning of the game there will be a little training on interacting with the world.
Look around. On the left we see a sign on which the population of the town is indicated in free form. Our red car is parked in the back.
Go to the house in front, read the inscription on the wall. It turns out to be the Sheriff’s Office.
We are hinted that we should look at the note on the window. Learn how to use the camera (C key), learn how to use the zoom (right mouse button), learn how to enter the section with photos (P key). Take photo of the note. Spoiler: We will never need the information on the note.
Enter the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office – 1
You can turn on the light on the left behind the door. On the left pick up a map of the city. The map will now be in the “Maps” section (M key).
There we also pick up a flashlight, learn how inspect objects, rotate, zoom in. In the end, put it in the inventory. The flashlight can be turned on with the L key. The flashlight apparently has a nuclear battery, so it takes a very long time to discharge, so you basically can not turn it off.
There is a bulletin board on the wall next to it. You can take a photo of the cafe announcement (to do this, turn on the camera using the default C key while reading and take a photo) or write down the address on a piece of paper. The announcement of the missing boy Joshua S. Taylor can simply be read, it does not carry any semantic. And the article about the murder of Vivian Roberts will be included in our journal itself. Read the newspaper and try to remember new names.
Read a newspaper lying on the table about the arrest of Scott Brooks as the main suspect in the murder. There is an answering machine to the right of the fireplace, which is listening to a recording from a certain Steven, who is staying at Anne’s Courtyard.
Open the bottom drawer of the table, read James Howard’s diary (the achievement “James Howard’s Story”), memorize new names. On the windowsill read a document about the re-assigned of Sheriff James Howard a year ago. There is a blue file cabinet in the corner. Try to open it. It’s locked.
Go to the other corner of the table, which is closer to the bookcase. We are subtly hinted that we need to sit down. Sit down, pick up the key from under the table, put it in the inventory. In the same corner, you can look at the book that lies on the box, but it is not of interest.
Go to the drawers of the table, look at the keyhole of the top drawer, go into the inventory by pressing the I key, select the only key. Hear a characteristic click, the lock is open. Open the drawer, read the report on the murder of Vivian Roberts, pick up the key to the gate to the city.
Leave the Sheriff’s Office.
Town
On the answering machine, a certain Steven was talking about Anne’s Courtyard. Guided by the map, go there.
There will be a black car in front of the hotel. Try to open the car door. It’s locked. Note that there are some documents on the front passenger seat.
Go into the hotel.
Anne’s Courtyard – 1
Go straight through. There is a bulletin board on the left wall near the administration, read them. Another announcement about a cafe, another announcement about a missing boy. Two ads on a religious topic, notice that the priest of the church is named Matthew. The barbershop ad is of no interest. In the announcement about the children’s spring festival, you can see that the organizer was the murdered Vivian Roberts. Read an ad about Slim Jim.
On the opposite wall from the bulletin board there are darts and the rules of the game. If we don’t know the rules of the game of darts, take photo of them, just like we did with ads.
There is a brochure about the town on the table to the left. You can just read it.
There will be a door around the corner from the bulletin board, go into the administrator’s room, turn on the light using the switch near the sign on the left wall. On the right side of the door pick up keys of three rooms
In the letter compartment on the desk, read the note and pick up the key. The note is not entered in the journal, so it makes sense to take a photo of it.
Next, read a newspaper on the desk about the closure of the hospital. Listen to the answering machine. A certain Oliver Gibson from the photolab took the tools. A Mrs. Patterson has the key. Let’s remember this.
Read the visitor book. Note that Steven Moss did not leave room 201. Apparently, this Steven called the sheriff.
Another of the active items on the ground floor is a bell at the reception desk and a gramophone on a table near a large window. There is also another flashlight on the desk. But we don’t need two flashlights, so we leave it in place.
There is also a storage room and a toilet on the ground floor, but there is nothing interesting there.
Let’s explore the second floor. Turn on the light near the stairs with a switch. Go up the stairs. The switch on the second floor does not work. Turn on a flashlight. Open all the rooms from which we took the keys. In 202, we find a white cap between the closet and the wall (the achievement “Guest’s Lost Cap”). There is nothing interesting in the other rooms. Room 201 is locked, there is no key to it. There is a letter under the door of room 201 about the payment of housing, apparently Steven has not paid for a long time.
Leave the hotel.
Town
Go to the tree and from it go right along the Black Pine Road to the end, guided by the map of the town. Enter the gate.
Hospital – 1
Enter through the main entrance. Try to turn on the light. Does not work.
At the reception desk, look at the log of visits, you can take a photo for memory, notice familiar names.
Behind the desk, in a drawer in the center, find a list of patients and their wards. Take photo. Above the drawer on the reception desk, slightly to the left, notice a note about the key to the church, take photo or memorize. At the far left end of the desk, in the top drawer, we find some kind of pin. Turn around and see the numbers “1964″. Take photo or memorize them.
Leave the desk, go to the right, that is, as we entered the hospital – to the left. Check the operability of the elevators. They don’t work. Go to the end, go through the door on the left, go down the stairs to the basement. Check the door. It’s locked. Return to the ground floor.
Standing with our back to the elevator, go straight down the corridor, meet a lot of closed doors. Pay attention to the third door on the left, behind which there is a medical archive. It’s locked. You can go straight on to the dining room, but there will be nothing interesting there.
Standing with our back to the locked medical archive, go straight ahead. There will be an exit to the hospital courtyard on the left, you can go out for a walk, but there is nothing interesting there. There will be a locked operating room on the right. Go further, see the nurse station, go behind the desk. In the top drawer of the table pick up the key with the label “Medical Record_Room”. In the box in the opposite corner, pick up the key with the label “Wanda Tyler”.
Pick up a map of the hospital on the bulletin board. Read the ads. We already know three of them. One more thing about supernatural. And the last ad about hiring for various jobs from Scott Brooks, who is already known to us.
Next to the nurse station is a room labeled “Office”. Of course it’s locked. Pay attention to the lock, need a key card.
Look at the picture of the occupied wards, find Wanda Tyler, she was in ward 102. Look at the map of the hospital, find ward 102, it is not far from the nurse station. If you look at the Office door, it will be the next door on the right. Go in there, on the bedside table on the left near the bed, read Wanda’s diary.
Go to the medical archive, open the door with a key from the nurse station. On the left there will be eight blue boxes with records of patients’ medical histories and their insurance. Among them is the medical history of Wanda Tyler. But there will be no special surprises in it. However, interestingly, we now know Wanda Tyler’s address and it looks like we have a key to her house. We’ll visit there later. In the meantime, you can take a photo of the medical history, maybe it will come in handy.
Also, those who are particularly attentive may notice that the address found on the note at Anne’s courtyard in the letter rack is also listed in the history of a certain Andrew Reed. We’ll look at him later too. And we will also record the medical history on film.
Listen to the dictaphone on the table, the doctor talks to Miss Roberts, compare it with the list of patients, so it’s Trisha. In the middle drawer we find a note, take a photo or memorize it. The pin has already been found, so it belonged to Katherine. Go to the nurse station, find Katerina’s locker, type the numbers on it from the pin: 1964. Read the nurse’s diary, pay attention to the last entry.
Let’s go back to the elevator. Go up to the second floor. I recommend turning on the light in the hallway wherever possible. You can walk straight to the gym with your back to the elevator, but there is nothing interesting there. Therefore, go straight from the elevator and to the right. Guided by the map, we find the 205th ward, it has no doors with a wide entrance. At the window on the right, we find a letter (the achievement “Dying Man’s Letter”).
All wards are closed except 206th. You can go in there and read the note on the bed, and the note in the middle drawer in the nightstand. It will be about time capsules, you can take photos, although there is no special point. The second note is not finished and there are drops of blood on it.
Go further down the corridor, turn right, go out to the second staircase, climb to the roof, walk to the far end of the roof, pay attention to the broken fence. You can interact with it. You will be warned that it is possible to fall from here.
Go back to the second floor, go straight down the corridor, at the end there will be a staircase on the right, go down to the ground floor. There will be an emergency center on the right. Go in there, pick up the key card of Dr. Henry Johnson on the couch. Go back to this door, fortunately it is nearby, get a microinfarction, try to open the door of the “Office” with a key card. We are informed that the power is off.
Leave the hospital through the main entrance. Immediately after leaving the hospital, go right along the wall of the building. Exactly under the broken fence we see the outline of a man outlined in chalk. Apparently, someone fell off the roof after all.
Let’s go back to the town.
Town
Go back to the hotel, then along Clover Street to Silverlake Boulevard, then along the boulevard to the right. To the left will be the Painscreek Trinity Church. Let’s go to her.
Try to open the main entrance. It’s locked. Go around the church on the left, see another door, try to open it. It’s locked too. There is a green pot to the left of the door, and as indicated in the note at the hospital, there is a key in it. Open the main entrance with a key, enter the church.
Church – 1
On the left we see a bulletin board. There is an ad on it about Oliver Gibson’s photolab, you can take a photo or write down the address on a piece of paper. Another announcement about the hiring of Scott Brooks for various jobs. The announcement of the church’s events, the full name of the priest turns out to be Matthew Brooks. And also the announcement of the closure of the church due to the funeral of Andrew Reed, the one whose story we found in the hospital, and apparently the one whose key was left at the hotel.
On the second row of benches we find a newspaper, read the circumstances of the death of this Andrew Reed.
Enter the door on the right, if you look at the altar. Turn on the light. This is a confessional with two rooms. Pay attention to the two locked drawers in them. Go out into the common room.
Go to the left, if you look at the altar, the door. Turn on the light. There will be a toilet on the left, a kitchen directly ahead. Read the note on the fridge.
Opposite the kitchen, a little to the left, there will be a door with the inscription “Storage”. Try to open it. It’s locked.
Go further down the corridor. There will be a door on the left, followed by a staircase leading down. Turn on the light there, go down, try to open the door. It’s locked. Go back up.
Then there will be a staircase to the second floor, go up. There will be a door right there, go in.
The switch on the right turns on the light. In the top drawer of the desk, read Scott’s diary. The situation with surnames is becoming a little clearer. Apparently, this is Scott Brooks’ bedroom.
Pick up the airplane from the table, rotate it, and see the inscription “May 3, 1985″ from below. You can take a photo, but not necessarily. Compare it with the entry in the diary about the secret place.
Look at the poster with airplanes on the wall in more detail, find a safe. I remind you that all the dates in the game are written in the American format, that is, month/day/year. Try to find a password. There are planes on the poster, an airplane on the table, remember about the entry about the secret place in the diary. In short, enter 5385 and open the safe.
You can spin a baseball, but it is not of interest. Look at the note, take photo. Read another diary, notice interesting facts. Leave the room, turn on the light switch on the right wall, go further down the corridor.
There will be a toilet on the left. The door will be directly ahead, it’s locked. Go through the door on the right. There will be a switch on the left, turn on the light. It looks like this is Matthew Brooks’ office. Approach the desk. The top right drawer of the desk is locked. In the second one there is a newspaper, read it.
In the upper left drawer, pick up the key, read the note, you don’t have to take photo of it, and so it is clear which door the key is from. In the second upper-left drawer, look at a photo of Matthew and Scott.
On the wall to the right of the table, you can see photos of the previous pastor, Father Calvin, and, in fact, Matthew Brooks. Taking a photo of Matthew Brooks as a keepsake. Leave the room.
If we go straight ahead and open the door, we will find ourselves on the balcony in the common room. There is nothing interesting on the balcony.
Go back to the stairs, go down to the ground floor, open the storage door with a key from the table, turn on the light.
There will be a toolbox directly ahead, pick up the “Slim Jim”. Pay attention to the box with the note “Scott’s Things”, try to open it. It’s locked.
Leave the church.
Town
Go to the car near the hotel, apply “Slim Jim” on the front passenger door. Open.
Read a letter about hiring a detective, a letter threatening Vivian, and pay attention to the peculiarity of the typewriter to print the letter “e”. Find the identity of private investigator Steven Moss. Read his diary, especially the last page. Both the letter and the diary do not need to be photographed, they will be saved in the journal. Look at the photo of the girl, turn it upside down (the achievement “The Secret Lies With Her”). You can also take a photo for memory. Pay attention to the locked glove compartment and the bloody imprint on it.
Well, it’s time to visit the crime scene, even if it’s four years old. Let’s go to the mansion.
You can go back along Clover Street to Silverlake Boulevard, then turn left along the boulevard almost to the end, before turning onto Maple Alley.
Pass the serpentine, reach the gate and enter it.
Mansion – 1, part 1
See a barn in the distance to the left, go to it. Before reaching the barn, on the left, there will be a path leading to the gate. Look at the gate, don’t turn your head. Approach the gate, try to open it, it’s locked. Look through the bars of the gate, see some kind of silhouette, it looks like a girl. Turn our head to the side, look through the bars again, the silhouette has disappeared. Must have imagined it. Although the photo remained. Who is it?
Go on to the barn. Remember about the note in Scott’s safe about the secret place, it was photographed, type 8831 on the lock. Go inside.
Immediately to the right of the door on the wall read a note about the tools, you can capture it on film. Pick up two keys from the shelves: one with the inscription “Attic”, the other with a tag with the inscription “Trisha”, turn the tag with the other side, it says “drawer”. Read Trisha’s diary. Notice two chess pieces, rotate them, and see the numbers written at the bottom. Photograph them so that both the figure and the number are visible.
Then you can walk around the mansion in a circle to get acquainted with the territory, or immediately return to the main entrance. Enter the main entrance.
To the right of the entrance, next to the boxes, you can find the Vivian Roberts award “Influential Citizen”.
There will be a column with a switch in front of the boxes, you can turn on the light, as it is too dark.
There will be a corridor to the left of the column, go into it. At the end there will be a locked door with a digital lock, and on the left, there will be a library. Go into it and pick up the map of the second floor on the left. Further, in order not to describe the complex architecture of the mansion, we will navigate on the second floor using the map.
Return to the main entrance, climb the stairs to the second floor. Find the security room on the map, it is at the opposite end of the floor. Go straight along the wall, and then take a little to the right, pass by the stairs leading down, and find ourselves at the right door. Once again, read the last page of Steven Moss’s diary, enter 025241. Go into the security room.
Immediately on the left, turn on the light, pick up three keys in the key locker, it is better to remember or take a photo of which rooms they are from. Or it will be possible to pick it up later by brute force.
There is a folder with the personal files of the mansion’s employees on the table next to it, you don’t have to take photo, all the cases will be logged automatically. See the names we already know. It turns out that Andrew Reed worked in the mansion as a handyman, Wanda Tyler did housework, her son Derrick was a chauffeur, we already read about this in Scott’s diary for 1990. Dorothy Patterson also took care of the children in the mansion, and we already heard about a certain Mrs. Patterson on the answering machine at the hotel. Bernard Hopkins was the butler and the head of the staff, he was mentioned by Sheriff Howard in his diary. Mary Martinez also worked at home, most likely replacing the already ill Wanda. Fix various new names. The most important thing is that people’s residential addresses are in their personal files.
On the table on the opposite side, read the mansion security logbook. There are a lot of interesting entries there, especially the entry about the tape and a certain Magdalene Roberts is interesting, pay attention to the date of the tape that Magdalene was looking for. The last entry is also interesting. Leave the security room.
There will be a locked door immediately opposite. Check the map, realize that this is Dorothy Patterson’s room. Open it with the right key, which we took from the security room, and go inside.
Read Dorothy’s farewell letter on the table. In the top drawer of the table find a photo of Dorothy and Trisha, you can take a photo, but only for memory.
In the second drawer, read Dorothy’s diary and learn a lot of new things. There is another diary on the bedside table next to the bed, read it too, learn about the existence of Sofia, a girl who worked in the mansion on the recommendation of Matthew Brooks. Leave the room.
According to the map, find Trisha’s room, it is located at the opposite end of the floor, next to the stairs that we climbed. Open the necessary key from the security room, go inside.
There will be a closet right there, a note on the central door, you can take a photo for memory. Open the left closet door, see something like a music box. Open the central section of the closet, read Trisha’s diary, and pay attention to the last page. Pick up the key.
Remember that a key was found in the barn with the signature “drawer”, go to the locked drawer near the bed, unlock with the necessary key from the barn. Read the note, can take a photo, so as not to forget, pick up the key, apparently from Dorothy’s house. In the second drawer we read another diary (the achievement “Trisha Roberts’ Story”). Also read the note, take photo if desired, and pick up some kind of cross. Leave the room.
After leaving the room, go left to the end, go out onto the balcony. Next to the sofa on the floor we see a note from M, that is, most likely from Mary Martinez, with instructions on the tea ceremony, take photo. Return to the mansion.
Find the tearoom on the map, this is the third key, which we found in the security room. It is located between Trisha’s room and Dorothy’s room, next to the bar. Go to her, open the door with a key, go in.
Pay attention to the clock that hangs on the left. There will be a green lamp right on the bedside table. Vivian’s diary will be in the first drawer of the bedside, read it, pick up the key.
There will be a table on the right. There will be hate mail in the left middle drawer, they cannot be read, but you can guess the essence by zooming in on the camera. In the upper right-hand drawer, there will be a letter about the embezzlement of funds by Dr. Henry Johnson, who is already known to us. The central drawer of the desk is locked, let’s remember this. Leave the room.
There will be a bar on the right, to the right of the bar one of the switches can turn on the light. There will be a sheet to count scores on the billiard table, it is not of interest. At the bar, read a newspaper about the incident at the coal mine when it was owned by the Roberts family. In front of the bar, in the central top drawer, there is an invoice for the delivery of four cases of wine. There is a note in the top drawer under the bar asking not to tell about the missing of cases. Indeed, there are only two cases in the bar, and four in the invoice.
Guided by the map, go further down the corridor to the gym. Passing by the second door on the left, where the maid’s room is located, pay attention to the note on the door, you can take a photo for memory.
Mansion – 1, part 2
Walk to the end of the gym, there will be a staircase to the ground floor on the left. A switch nearby can turn on the light. Go down it, go straight down the corridor, go through the door.
There will be a gallery on the left, you can go for a walk around it, look at the paintings, there are a lot of them there. The lights turn on in some places in the first room, but not in the second. Also in the first room, Charles’s diary is lying on the sofa, read it. Leave the gallery.
Go straight down the corridor, reach the living room, pass through it, return to the library, where we found a map of the second floor.
There was a locked door next to her at the end of the hallway. In Trisha’s diary, we found the code to her father’s study room. We did not find any other doors claiming to be the door to the study room with a digital lock. Go to the door, enter 44871, go inside.
On the left, you can turn on the light in the study room. Immediately to the right, at a table on the floor, pick up a map of the ground floor. Great, now navigation in the mansion is noticeably easier.
In the bottom left drawer of the table, read Vivian’s medical report from the same Dr. Henry Johnson. In the same drawer we find two chess pieces with numbers, take photo of them. In the lower right drawer of the table pick up a book, turn it with the reverse side, see the inscription “4 right 6 left 3 right”, you can take a photo. Put it in the inventory. Notice that the central drawer is closed with an interesting lock.
To the right of the table we see a bookshelf with a missing book. Put the book found in the drawer in an empty place on the shelf. Next, click on the fourth book on the right, the sixth on the left and the third on the right, a secret room will open. Go into it.
Turn on the light on the left. In the box read a newspaper about the death of Magdalene Roberts, we find out that this is Charles’s mother. Read two of Charles’s diaries on the left shelves in the closet, pay attention to the dates of the entries. On the right see a letter from Magdalene to Charles, as well as a photo that is already familiar to us, but with the signature “Sofia”. Well, we’ve learned a lot of interesting things now. Leave the secret room and the study room.
Go into the living room, that is, down the corridor and to the left. Above the fireplace, you can find a photo of the happy Roberts family. Or not very happy?
You can open the door to the patio, it has not been ventilated for a long time. To the right of the fireplace there will be a table with a white tablecloth, on it there is another flashlight and a newspaper about the death of Dr. Henry Johnson, read it. There will be a fax on the right, there are no messages on it, but in the second drawer of the bedside table on which it stands, there is a appreciation letter to Vivian from the suppliers of medicines, read it.
There will be a kitchen to the right of the fax machine, go there, on the way remembering the note on the door of the maid’s room, which we prudently photographed. Go into the kitchen. Previously, you can turn on the light with a switch in the living room.
See a note on the refrigerator on the left, read it, although we already know the information about the location of the key to the church.
There will be a sink on the left, and in the upper left drawer there will be a shopping list for Trisha’s birthday from Mary Martinez. In the second drawer pick up the key, apparently, from the maid’s room. Leave the kitchen.
Go to the right, judging by the map there should be a laundry room, find it near the door to the yard, go into the laundry room, turn on the light on the left. On the far washing machine, read Mary Martinez’s diary.
Well, we have the key to the maid’s room. There is a staircase next to the laundry room, climb it, find ourselves near the security room, go past the bar to the right by the well-known way to the maid’s room, open the key from the kitchen, go in.
It’s funny that there are no switches in the maid’s room. There will be a note about Scott from M on the right under the foot of the closet, that is, now it is definitely from Mary Martinez. There will be Mary’s diary near the left bunk bed, read it (the achievement “Mary Martinez’s Story”), learn a lot of interesting things about the gallery and about the fact that Bernard is left-handed and much more. A little further down the stairs to the second floor of the bed there is another note from Mary about the letters that we found in the drawer in the tearoom. Leave the room.
Mary said something in her diary that Wanda and Derrick Tyler used to live in the attic. Guided by the map, go to the attic, since it is also on the second floor, which is logical. It’s near the security room, down the hall. Remember that they found the key to the attic in the barn, open the door for them, go in, turn on the light on the left.
On the left, on the far table, find the instructions for the watch, take photo of it. Go down the stairs to the ground floor, to the garage.
You can turn on the light here. On the right under the window, you can find a bunch of bottle caps. There will be a grill on the left, to the right of it will be Derrick’s diary, read it. Go out through the door blocked from the inside to the street.
Right in front of us there will be a door leading to the ground floor of the mansion, it is open, enter it. Go straight ahead, turn right and turn right again, go to the gallery.
Mary wrote something about a painting in the gallery with a woman with a white headband and about some kind of click that she heard before Charles came out. Let’s try to find the painting. Enter the gallery, go left, and without entering the second hall, turn right. Here she is.
Pay attention to the lever on the bottom right, click on it, find the safe. We don’t know the password yet. Leave the gallery.
Go straight down the corridor, there will be a locked door on the right, judging by the map of the mansion, the door to the master bedroom. Open it with a key found in the tearoom. Go inside. On the left, you can turn on the light. There is a hat on the bed, but it is not of interest. But in the top drawer of the bedside table, standing next to it, you can find a key, it looks like a watch winding key. In the lower section of the bedside table find Vivian’s diary, read it. Near the armchair near the window on the floor find a key with the tag “201″. After reading about it in the inventory, we immediately realize that it is from the locked 201st room in Anne’s Courtyard.
Recall the instructions for the watch found in the attic, we photographed it. On the bottom right of the instructions there was a hint of what time should be indicated on the clock. We remember about the note on the balcony, we also photographed it, it was about the fact that Vivien preferred to drink tea at 15:20. Remember where we saw such watches. That’s right, in the tearoom. Go there, do everything according to the instructions, and read a very interesting letter from Dr. Johnson.
We have finished in this location, leave the mansion, go out of the gate into the town.
Town
To get there the fastest, go straight along the serpentine to the first turn, there will be a wooden railing on the right, and behind them a stone staircase.
Go down it to the end and turn right, go straight and find ourselves on the Black Pine Road that we already know. Follow it to the left towards the hotel. Before reaching the post office, turn right into Pebble Lane.
Follow it to the end, go out to the river. On the left there will be a wooden bridge leading to a playground on the other side of the river. Cross the bridge, pass the playground, and see a path on the right. Follow it, there will be a possible entrance to the water on the right but will not allow us to swim. Go further along the main path, see the cabin, go to the front door on the right.
The door is expected to be locked. On the right we see a note with a list of things to do, among which to leave the key to Trisha. Open the door with a key from Trisha’s room with a head in the form of a house, go inside.
Cabin – 1
To the left of the fireplace there will be a book on carpentry, it is of no interest. To the right of the fireplace there will be a bedside table, in the upper drawer there will be a key with a cross on the head, in the lower one there will be a key with the inscription “Chest box”. There will also be a very interesting Scott’s diary in the bottom drawer, read it.
Leave the cabin.
Town
Go straight into the alley, then to the right, then to the left, pass through the cast-iron gate, exit onto the Black Pine Road, which is already known to us. Turn right, reach Anne’s Courtyard. Go inside.
Anne’s Courtyard – 2
Notice a closed case on the table. In the top drawer of the desk read the diary of a detective with curious notes.
In the middle drawer find three photographs that can be captured on film for memory. A photo with an incomprehensible silhouette on the roof of the building. It says on the back that this is Painscreek Hospital.
The second photo shows one of the boxes in the confessional in the church. On the reverse side, it is assumed that the code for it may be the date of birth of Calvin, the previous pastor.
On the third, we see some kind of recess in the shape of a cross and the question is where to find the key.
The detective wrote in his diary that he had found a hidden panel in the administration room. Go down, go into the administration room, to the right after the cabinet there will be a pedestal on which there is a bottle of Lingerbol champagne. If you sit down and look at the upper right corner of the left door, it turns out that you can interact with it.
Interact and open the cabinet. There will be a stuffed rabbit inside, which is not of interest, and the innkeeper’s logbook, read it.
Leave the hotel.
Town
Church – 2
Read Scott’s diary, there are many entries about Sofia in it. Pick up the key to the basement. Read a letter from Sister Davis about the story of Scott’s admission to the orphanage. You can also consider a blanket with the inscription “My baby boy” in the corner, you can even take a photo.
Go up to the second floor. There was another closed door next to Matthew’s office, this is Matthew’s bedroom. Open it with the second key found in the hunter’s cabin, with a cross on the head. Go into the bedroom, turn on the light on the left.
In the bedside table next to the bed, find Matthew’s diary in a drawer, read it. In the second bedside table in the corner, read a letter about hiring a lawyer for Scott, as well as bank statements. In the closet on the opposite side in the main section, read another Matthew’s diary, which sheds some light on the relationship between Matthew and Sofia. Pay attention to the dates of entries in both diaries.
Leave the church.
Town
Cabin – 2
On one of the shelves on the left find Scott’s diary, read it, find out very interesting facts (the achievement “The Hidden Truth”).
There is a closet on the opposite wall, if you open the doors and shine a flashlight, you can see a light bulb and a chain from above. Pull the chain, nothing happens. However, the closet seems very familiar. This is exactly what we saw in the photo in the detective’s hotel room.
Go around the closet on the left, pull back the wooden panel, insert the cross found in Trisha’s drawer. Once again, pull the chain in the closet, the door opens, enter Scott’s secret room (the achievement “Scott’s Secrets”).
There will be a switch on the right, you can turn on the light. There is a large plaque on the wall with Scott’s investigation. There will be another switch to the left of it, you can also turn on the light. There will be a key hanging under it, pick it up.
Read the labels to the photos, take photo of them. Look at the map, it will not be included in our maps, but there is a lot of interesting information on it, take photo of it. On the top right there is a photo of Sofia with a baby in her arms and the question of who killed her.
There will be a map of the Painscreek sewer system and a key in a large drawer. The map will be entered into our archive of maps, pick up the key. In the upper right drawer find a larger photo of Sofia with a baby, zoom in, recognize a familiar blanket with the inscription. In the same drawer pick up the key to the music box.
In the middle drawer find another very interesting Scott’s diary, read it (the achievement “Scott Brooks’ Story”).
There will also be a psychology book on the table, and there will be a radio on the stool, but they are not of interest.
You can also match the typewriter font to the font in the Vivian Roberts threatening letter. It can be seen that the fonts do not match.
There will also be many cassettes with recordings of the mansion’s surveillance cameras, but you cannot interact with them.
Leave the cabin.
Town
Go back across the wooden bridge, go out onto Black Pine Road, turn left. Passing the intersection with the Central Alley of the city and not reaching the descent to the hospital, on the right we see the entrance to the alley from which we recently left. Walk along it, soon see a familiar staircase on the left, climb to the landing in the middle of the stairs, see a door on the left.
Open it with the key that we found next to the sewer map, go inside.
Sewer
Go right, then right again, go through the gate. Go straight to the sharp right turn, turn right. Then go straight ahead for a long time, until we can turn right. Then walk in a straight ahead for a long time again, pass another gate. Come to a dead end, there will be a door on the right, go into it.
Hospital – 2
In the opposite room with the inscription “Storage” you can now also turn on the light. On the far shelf on the second shelf from below, pick up a hammer. Go out into the corridor.
Enter the iron door in the basement. There is a morgue there. You can turn on the light on the right. In the far right corner on the floor you can find the detective’s diary, his wallet, and two keys: one for the suitcase, the other most likely from the house of Bernard Hopkins.
Apparently, Detective Steven Moss finished his investigation here. Well, we’re moving on.
The elevator, as we remember, does not work, so we go a little further and open the door locked from the inside, which we tried to open when we first visited the hospital. Go up to the ground floor.
Remember that the lights were turned off exactly at the same time when we wanted to go into Dr. Johnson’s office. If we don’t remember where this office is, then navigate by the map. He’s near the nurse station. Use the key card, open the door, go in.
There will be a fax machine in the right corner. There are no messages on it, but there is an interesting document from Vivien Roberts to the doctor next to it.
There is a phone with an answering machine on the table, there are three messages on it, unfortunately, the dates of the messages are not indicated. On the left, in the second drawer from the bottom, pick up the key to room 203. Once we photographed the list of wards and those who occupy them. Check, it turns out that Trisha was there.
On the right, in the second drawer from the bottom, read a threatening note to the doctor. Also read Dr. Charles’s unsent reply. Pay attention to the date of the response and recall the newspaper in which it was written about the death of the doctor. Apparently, the doctor did not have time to send this reply. On the shelf to the right of the table you can find the award, which was also received by Vivian Roberts.
You can also match the font in the threatening note to the doctor with a similar note that Vivian received. We saw the last one in the document on hiring a detective.
Leave the doctor’s office, go straight. In the middle of the corridor on the right there will be an exit to the courtyard of the hospital, go out there, go straight ahead. There will be a wooden gate on the right, go to it. Open it, reach the tree and turn our head to the right. It was from this angle that the detective was photographing the hospital when he saw someone on the roof.
Go back to the hospital. Back in the courtyard, look at the roof. See the familiar silhouette again. Apparently, the detective wasn’t the only one who saw someone on the roof. Okay, let it stand there. Go back to the hospital.
Go up to the second floor, find ward 203 on the map. It is next to room 205, where we have already been and found the letter of the dying man, as well as not far from 206, where we were also on our first visit. Use the key from the doctor’s office, go into room 203.
In the bedside table near the bed in the top drawer find Dorothy Patterson’s diary, read it and pick up the key, which is defined in the inventory as the bedroom key. In the bottom drawer we find a newspaper about the death of Scott Brooks, read it.
Leave the hospital and go back to the city.
Town
Open the gate, enter the territory. With the key found in a drawer in Trisha’s room in the mansion, open the front door. Go into the house.
Dorothy Patterson’s House – 1
In the living room on the ground floor, you can find several more books on religious topics in the closet. Go up to the second floor.
On the left see a locked bedroom door, open it with a key found in the hospital in Trisha’s ward. Go inside.
You can see a locked chest with the label “Sofia” right there. There is a note from Oliver Gibson on the mantelpiece, read it. There is a key hanging next to it, pick it up.
There is a pendant of Mother Mary on the bedside table. There is another Dorothy’s diary in the top drawer, read it (the achievement “Dorothy Patterson’s Story”). In the bottom drawer read the newspaper about Trisha’s death (the achievement “All Newspaper Articles Found”). So that’s whose chalk outline we found on our first visit to the hospital.
Leave Dorothy’s house.
Town
There are some clues left somewhere in their favorite places. Sofia’s favorite places were learned from the detective’s diary, which we found in the morgue. These are Anne’s Courtyard, the bridge near the sheriff’s office, and the post office. We learned Matthew’s favorite places from his 1971 diary, which we found in his bedroom. This is a cafe, a church and a bookstore.
There will be a post office somewhere between Dorothy’s house and Anne’s Courtyard, we already passed it once when we were walking from the mansion to the hunter’s cabin. Go to it, the word “Stream” will be written on one stone of the corner masonry from the side of the lane. You can take a photo as a keepsake.
Looking across the street, we see the bookstore that Matthew’s wrote about – “Little Big Books.”
Go around the fence on the left, go to the main entrance. Under the sign, which is visible from the side of the road, near the iron gate from below, we find another word – “House”. Take a photo.
Once upon a time, at the sheriff’s office, we photographed an advertisement for the Moon Cafe. It had an address on it, Black Pine Road, 35. If Dorothy lived at number 40, then most likely it should be somewhere nearby.
Return to the Black Pine Road, go further towards the hotel. A little past the post office, on the left hand we see the cafe we are looking for. Near the advertising stand, again on the stone of the corner masonry, as in the post office, notice the word “Playground”. Photo in the album.
Go on to Anne’s Courtyard. This is also, by the way, Matthew and Sophia’s favorite place. Go to the end of the building, which is closer to Clover Street, where the hotel sign is hanging. Under it, from the side of Clover Street, see the word “Bird”. Let’s capture this moment on film, too.
This is the place to remember that in the morgue, next to the detective’s wallet, we found the key to the suitcase, presumably of the same detective.
Go into the hotel.
Anne’s Courtyard – 3
Look at the photo of the darts, it is better to take a photo as well.
Go outside.
Town
Once upon a time, when we visited the church for the first time, we photographed an advertising brochure about Oliver’s photolab. The address listed there sounds like Walnut Avenue, 5. In addition, the photolab is listed on the Painscreek map.
If you navigate by the map, then the closest thing from Anne’s Courtyard is to walk through the Town Center Drive of the city, so after leaving the hotel, go left. Then turn right onto the Walnut Avenue. The desired building with an informative sign will be on the right hand side.
Go into it.
Oliver Gibson’s Photolab
There is a fax on the right, there are no messages on it, but in the drawer under it there is a letter saying that Matthew will not be able to join a certain religious meeting. Read it, pay attention to the dates.
There is a diary in the second drawer of the table, read it (the achievement “Oliver Gibson’s Story”). Unfortunately, there is nothing else interesting here.
Leave the photolab and go outside.
Town
Let’s go to the mansion. To do this, turn right, go onto Silverlake Boulevard, go left to Maple Alley, follow it to the mansion.
Mansion – 2
On the left we see a staircase, which is not very clear where it leads, but it is impossible to walk along it. To the right, behind the tree, see a well. Approach him, see a rope tied. Interact with her, go down to the bottom of the well. When we reach the bottom, we will get an achievement “Here She Lies”. Apparently, it was at this well that the fight took place 20 years ago, in which Sofia died.
At the bottom we find a medallion, put it in the inventory (the achievement “All Tools Found”). If you expand the medallion, you can see the engraved numbers.
Interact with the rope again, get out of the well. Go to the mansion, enter it. The fastest way is to go through the patio on the right.
Go up to the second floor, go to Trisha’s room, if necessary, guided by the map. There, in the left section of the closet, when we first visited, we saw a music box. Open it with a key from Scott’s secret room, read Scott’s letter to Trisha.
Leave the mansion, go back to the town.
Town
Go back along Maple Alley to the end. If you look straight ahead, there will be an entrance to the alley, go into it, go down a small staircase, and on the left we see the house at number 31.
Open the door with a key from the locker, go inside.
Bernard Hopkin’s House
Go through the opposite door. Turn on the light on the left. There’s a arsenal here. On the right there is a cabinet with guns, a table with two boxes on it, one of which is obviously missing a knife, another cabinet with axes. For some reason, the glass in the last cabinet is broken. You can interact with a box without a knife and a cabinet with axes.
There is a display case with military badges above the fireplace. So, he’s a former military man. Next to it, on the table, like on the altar, is Vivian Roberts’ book “The Untold Story.” Go up to the second floor.
There will be a switch at the end of the stairs on the left, you can turn on the light. There will be a locked door on the left, we will go there later. Go through the right door. Turn on the light.
Approach the table. Note that the central drawer is locked with a combination lock. On the right, in the second drawer from the top, find a hint to a locked drawer, there is no point in photographing, it is necessary to subtract the sum of the points of the red darts from the sum of the points of the yellow ones. In the second drawer from the bottom find Bernard’s diary, read it.
Close the door from the inside, through which we entered the room, see a dartboard. But here’s the trouble. One red dart has fallen and is now lying on the floor. However, in the detective’s suitcase we saw a photo with three red darts on the board, look at it.
Once upon a time, when we first visited Anne’s hotel, we photographed the rules of the game of darts, read them. One red dart hit the bull’s–eye – that’s 50 points. Another one hit the triple ring in sector 20 – that’s 60 points. The third hit the double ring in sector 18 – that’s 36 points. The total score of the red darts is 146. The yellow darts hit single sectors 2 and 7, for a total of 9 points. Subtract the points of the red darts from the points of the yellow darts, get 137. Go to the central drawer of the table, enter 0137, open the drawer. Pick up the key out of the box, next to Bernard’s diary, read it.
To the left of the table, next to the heater, see bloodstains, interact with them, notice nails. Use a hammer on this place, the nails are taken out. Open the panel, see the knife (the achievement “Bloody Knife”). Notice that the knife is far from a kitchen knife, but it looks like the one we saw in the room with weapons. Compare it with the last entry in the diary and understand who killed Scott.
Leave the room, open the opposite door with a key with initials from the morgue, go in.
You can turn on the light on the left. Bernard’s diary about taking medication for depression will be right on the bedside table. There is another bedside table with a lamp next to the TV. In the bottom drawer read another curious Bernard’s diary (the achievement “Bernard Hopkin’s Story”). There is an interesting photo next to it with an eloquent caption on the back.
Leave the house and go outside.
Town
Therefore, after leaving the Bernard Hopkins house, go left. Pass through the iron gate, go straight ahead. After walking a little forward, on the left we see a long low fence without a gate, enter the courtyard. See number 43 on the door.
Open the door with the key from the hospital, go inside.
Wanda and Derrick Tyler’s House
There will be a kitchen on the right. You can also turn on the light in it on the left, but there is nothing interesting there. Next there will be a door to the toilet. The light can also be turned on, but also without attractions. The last door on the ground floor leads to a room in which the only interesting thing is a book in the closet that you can interact with. Go up to the second floor.
As in the Bernard Hopkins house, there will be a switch at the end of the stairs. We will also see two doors. Go through the left door.
You can turn on the light on the left. There will be a penknife engraved “Derrick T.” right on the bedside table. Apparently, this is Derrick’s bedroom. There will be a typewriter in one of the boxes, you can try to compare the font on the paper in the typewriter with the font on the threatening letters to Vivian and Dr. Johnson. It doesn’t really match.
There will be another drawer next to it, in which Derrick’s diary will lie on top, read it. It contains information about the time capsule, let’s remember it. In the chest of drawers near the door in the bottom drawer there is another diary about later events, read it too (the achievement “Derrick Tyler’s Story”). Leave the room, go to the opposite door.
Immediately to the right there will be a closet, in it in a box there will be Wanda’s diary about ancient times, read it. There will be a switch behind the cabinet on the right, you can turn on the light. On the left side of the chest of drawers there will be a woman’s handbag with a tag on which Vivian’s gratitude to Wanda for her work will be written. There will be a bathroom behind another door, but there is nothing interesting there.
There is a bedside table near the bed, not covered with a blanket. The bottom drawer is broken, and when interacting with it, it is reported that a tool is needed to fix it. For some reason, using a hammer on the bottom drawer, everything comes back to normal. Open the drawer, read another very interesting diary of Wanda (the achievement “Wanda Tyler’s Story”), and also read Derrick’s psychiatric examination. It turns out that Wanda knew about Sofia’s murder, and Derrick was even a witness to it.
Go outside.
Town
Recall that the church was Matthew and Sophia’s favorite place, so there must be a clue here. To the right of the entrance, “1203” will be written on the side wall. Take photo if we are afraid to forget.
In Derrick’s diary, we read about a time capsule that was buried in a cemetery. The location of the time capsule was also marked on the map in Scott’s secret room. In addition, you can recall the photo in the detective’s desk with the image of a box from the confessional from the church. There was a suggestion on the back that the code might be Father Calvin’s birthday. Calvin, as we know, is already dead, so most likely he is also in the cemetery. Besides, we have a shovel. It’s time to go to the cemetery.
From the church we go straight ahead to Silverlake Boulevard, turn left. At the end of the boulevard we see a large gate, go to them. Please note that the lock is open. As it was said at the very beginning of the walkthrough, the lock code that we found on the window of the sheriff’s office will not be useful to us. Go to the cemetery.
There will be another gate on the left, which cannot be opened. Graves of the characters already known to us will be right there, behind a separate fence will be the grave of Magdalene Roberts.
Turning right, you can see several more graves, on the tombstones of which there will also be names known to us. Reach the very end, on the right we see a grave without a tombstone, but simply with a wooden cross. Recall Scott’s diary from 1995 and understand that Sofia is buried here. There’s something wrong with this grave besides the tombstone, isn’t there?
Grave of the only Calvin in this cemetery, Calvin Bennet, is found next to Sofia’s grave, photograph the tombstone.
Opposite the Calvin’s grave, see a stone by the wall under a tree, go to it. There is an unremarkable zone on the ground near him, with which you can interact, apply a shovel to this zone (the achievement “Best Friends Forever”).
Read near the box Derek Tyler’s confession that he knew about Scott’s innocence, but decided to keep silent. Open the box. In it you can find: Trisha’s teddy bear, a gift from mom, with congratulations; a pencil drawing of Derrick, Trisha and Scott, with the signature on the back “Best Friends Forever”; a chess bishop figure with the number either 6 or 9 from below, taking photo of it; a map of “secret” of Painscreek from the “futuer detective” Scott. In general, we already know everything on this map, except for the secret attic in the church, let’s remember this. Leave the cemetery.
One of the keys remaining in the inventory is the key that was found at the very beginning when you first visited Anne’s Courtyard. It was lying next to a note with an address on it. An attentive reader may have already noticed that we saw this address in the hospital’s medical history and in the list of employees of the mansion. This address belongs to Andrew Reed – Black Pine Road, 7. On the map in Scott’s secret room, the approximate location of his house is indicated – somewhere near the stone bridge over which we entered the town at the very beginning.
Go by the famous road to Anne’s Courtyard, and from it towards the stone bridge. Before reaching the bridge, see a barrier on the left, go around it and go straight along the embankment. Soon there will be a burnt-out house on the left, recall the causes of Andrew Reed’s death. There will be a sign with the number 7 lying next to the door. Apparently, we are here. Open the door with the key from Anne’s hotel, go inside.
Andrew Reed’s House
There is only one door on the second floor, enter it. You can find some occult signs on the floor. On the third shelf from the bottom of the closet, find Andrew Reed’s diary about seeing Sofia’s ghost, read it (the achievement “Andrew Reed’s Story”). You can find a lot of pill bottles in the toilet. If you close the door to the room from the inside, you can read the scratched inscription “She is coming for us.”
Go outside.
Town
Go right to the bridge. This is Matthew and Sophia’s last favorite place, so there must be a final clue. Near the gate to the exit from the city, on the inside of the curb of the bridge, you can see the word “Stump”. Then we’ll figure out what to do with it all.
Recall that a note was found in the detective’s suitcase with a reminder to call the sheriff and with a code, most likely from the sheriff’s file cabinet. It’s time to check it out. Let’s go to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s Office – 2
Town
Cross the stone bridge into the town and immediately turn left, walk along the embankment to the wooden bridge, cross it. If you look to the right at the very end of the wooden bridge, you can see a birdhouse in the distance.
Pass the playground, go out onto the trail leading to the hunter’s cabin. Then immediately turn right, pass through the bushes, go out to the tree on which the birdhouse is hanging. Walk along the river in the direction from the playground, see a stump.
Approach it, open the lid. There will be a locked box inside. Enter the sixth clue – 1203, read Matthew’s letter to Sophia, pay attention to the date of the letter, and also read a birthday note from Matthew. Also, in the stump there is a gift itself in a purple box.
When we went down to the bottom of the well in the mansion, we found Sofia’s medallion, it was preserved in our inventory. If you turn it over, you can see the numbers. In Dorothy Patterson’s house we saw a box with a combination lock and a label “Sofia”. Let’s check our guess.
Go back to the playground, cross the bridge, take the already known route through the yards to Black Pine Road, go left to Dorothy Patterson’s house. Go into the house.
Dorothy Patterson’s House – 2
Town
An attentive reader may have already noticed this date in another place, in the cemetery, on the tombstone of Scott Brooks.
Go to the mansion. After leaving Dorothy’s house, go straight ahead into the alley, there will be a staircase on the left, climb it to the end, find ourselves almost at the gate of the mansion, which will be on the left. Enter the gate.
Mansion – 3
Approach the safe, which we found on our first visit to the mansion, enter 611975, open it. Read Charles’s diary. The reasons for Scott’s murder become clear. Also notice a hint on how the code that opens the central drawer of the desk in the office works. The numbers are written on the corresponding chess pieces.
Also read the changes in the will of Charles Roberts. Photograph the number on the figure of the king in the safe. Let’s go to Charles’s office.
Look carefully at the lock of the central drawer of the table. The letters KQBK are indicated on it. It is clear that Q is the Queen, and B is the Bishop. But the letter K can mean both King and Knight. That is, there are four options for how to specify the first and last digits. It is also not very clear what is depicted on the bishop: 6 or 9. In total, strictly speaking, there are 8 options. After trying them all, you can get that the correct combination is 5194. Open the drawer.
Read from left to right: two investigations by a certain Beckerd, then the diary of Charles Roberts (the achievement “Charles Roberts’ Story”). It turns out that he knew a lot, but not everything.
Go up to the second floor, go to the tearoom. There was a table on the right with a locked central drawer. Open it with a key that was found in the Bernard Hopkins house, read Vivian’s diary (the achievement “Vivian Roberts’ Story”).
That’s such a happy family.
Leave the mansion and return to the town.
Town
The fastest way is to go down the stairs at the first turn of the serpentine into the alley we already know, turn right, exit onto Black Pine Road, turn left and walk to the detective’s car.
Open the glove compartment with the key from the sheriff’s office, read the detective’s diary, pick up the key with the label from the safe of room 201 in the hotel. Go into the hotel.
Anne’s Courtyard – 4
Leave the hotel.
Town
Go into the church.
Church – 3
Go up to Father Matthew’s office. Matthew’s letter to Sophia, which we found in the stump, indicated the code for the desk drawer – 0318. Enter this code into the upper–right drawer, open it, read Matthew Brooks’s diary, compare the dates (the achievement “Matthew Brooks’ Story”).
Take a photo of Matthew Brooks on the wall near the table, if this was not done the first time.
Recall the photo that was found in the safe 201 in the hotel recently. A lamp was depicted on it.
Look at the wall opposite from the table, see the same one on the left. On the back of the photo there was a question about the button, approach the lamp, press the button. Insert the key found in the drain into the keyhole that appears, turn it. A secret room in the attic of the church has been opened. We read about her in Scott’s diary and saw her in a drawing in a time capsule.
The light doesn’t turn on the stairs. Go up the stairs, turn on the light on the right. Approach the table. A bloody axe is lying on it, and there is a typewriter on the left. Check the spelling of the letter “e”. Isn’t it written about us?
Open the drawers of the table from top to bottom. At the top we find a letter from Father Calvin to Matthew Brooks, acknowledging that Sophia gave birth to Charles and that Scott, aka Vincent, is at St. Patrick’s Orphanage. In the second drawer of the table find a letter from Sofia to Matthew Brooks that she will not be poor soon, read it (the achievement “All Letters Found”). Open the third drawer.
ATTENTION!!!
After listening to the recorder in the third drawer, the last part of the game will begin. It will be impossible to explore the town either after or during it. If someone else does not have all the achievements that have been written about, then it is too early to listen to the dictaphone.
For collectors of achievements at this point, it is advisable to go to the menu and click “Save and exit”, and then continue from the same place.
If you are ready, then we include a very interesting recording with the confessions of Matthew Brooks. Pay attention to how his voice changes.
The Final
Then we need to do everything quickly, so turn on the flashlight, hold the left Shift for running and let’s go.
Run out of the attic into the office, from there into the corridor, turn left along it towards the stairs, and start down it.
Not afraid of Sofia’s ghost (as much as possible), since she helps us. Go down to the ground floor. Immediately to the right there will be another staircase down, where it was recommended to turn on the light. Go down, open the door.
Find ourselves in the sewer, run straight ahead, open the metal gate, run on. At the fork we run to the left, the ghost will tell us.
It was here that we turned when we first walked through the sewers to the hospital. So, it goes on the same way. Everywhere, right through the already open metal gates, and where you can turn right, then turn. Run to the door to the hospital, go in.
Hopefully, the location orientation is already fine here. Run to the stairs near the elevator, go up immediately to the second floor, run past the chambers to the second staircase, climb to the roof, run to the far end to the broken railing.
If everything is done quickly enough, you will even have to wait a little longer. If you still don’t have a photo of Matthew Brooks, then you can take a photo here while he runs at you. However, the photo is needed only for the beauty of the front page of the newspaper.
Then we stand by the broken railing. Watch a movie.
Answer the questions. For those who didn’t understand anything: the killer is Matthew Brooks, the murder weapon is an axe. You can attach any photo for the front page of the newspaper, but it’s better to have some more beautiful one. For example, one of Matthew’s photos.
Read the letter that Janet will write to Dorothy Patterson and get two achievements: “Completionist” and “Truth Revealed”.
Other achievements
To achieve the “Case Unsolved” achievement, after listening to the dictaphone, it is necessary to make the same march to the roof of the hospital through the sewer, also stand at the broken railing, but all questions must be answered incorrectly in the end and post some ridiculous photo. After the credits, the achievement will be received.
To achieve the “Missing Journalist” achievement, after listening to the dictaphone, you must allow yourself to be hacked with an axe, like Raskolnikov kills the crooked pawnbroker.
The fastest way to get an achievement “You’re Fired” is to start the game, immediately turn around, get into your cherry car and leave. You can choose any options for questions about the killer and his weapon.
Good luck to everyone!
