Welcome to ‘The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty’ English Ending and Achievement Guide. If you’re looking for a comprehensive guide to help you achieve all the achievements and secret endings in the game, you’ve come to the right place. While there are no official English text guides available, I will be sharing my own experience and knowledge, along with Chinese guides, to help you successfully complete the game and earn all the achievements. Keep in mind that this guide is meant for players who have already played the game and are looking to maximize their achievements or are stuck on certain options. So, let’s dive in and make the most out of your gaming experience!
Achievements
In Chapter 1, show willingness to take the job.
Then, later in chapter 3 after Man Sui kills you and you disarm her, choose the first option to “Cut the chatter, just hit her”
Chapter 4, select Lu-Bu.
Chapter 1, Scope out the lambs first.
Chapter 6, Don’t share food with the villagers.
Chapter 9, don’t hold her hands.
Chapter 10, don’t hold her hands
Achieve all the above 15 achievements. Presumably 100% story too.
Endings
Chapter 2, Step back fast. You die.
Chapter 5, Strike immediately. You die.
Chapter 9 end, Trust Tongue. He will lie to you, and the next day, two of his goons will kill you.
Chapter 12, sprint away. You will get shot and killed by the deserter soldiers
Chapter 13, First option money in. You choose to sell the three girls off, and go to Luoyang with Man Sui. On the way, you fall asleep, and she kills you, taking revenge for you having killed her father and not changing.
Chapter 12, General Li’s rebel army. Choose to negotiate, +1. Fight straight away, 0 points
Chapter 14, On the cart to Luoyang. Say you regret killing, +1. No regret, 0 points
Chapter 15, After the beggar child comes. Top option gives them coins, +2. Bottom option admonishes them, 0 points.
Achieve 0-1 favorability. This way, you have successfully did everything you shouldn’t do. Man Sui disappears. She tries to kill the Swine Demon but fails and gets killed. She keeps your portrait with her, implicating you and getting you captured and executed as well.
Achieve 2 favorability. I believe any combination of achieving two points works. The best “bad ending” Man Sui still has thoughts of revenge, but doesn’t entirely hate you anymore. She disappears again, but leaves a word telling you to run away. You manage to escape, but find out that like the previous ending, she failed and implicated you. You eventually grow tired of running, and confront the guards. You make a proclamation, calling out the Swine Demon for his sins. You realize you became the hero you idolized and wanted to be as a child. Although those hiding and watching you were mostly sheep, some showed determination, engraving your figure. You had become their heroes. Although you did everything bad, you did one good thing at the end, and get killed by the guards, leaving a spark of hope and rebellion.
Achieve High but not max favor. (3 points) Man Sui doesn’t proceed with the assassination or framing. Instead, she informs you of your past and relation with her father, and disappears forever. You live, she presumably drowns herself in the river.
True Ending Intro:
Achieve max favor. Choose all correct options: Negotiate with General Li, Regret killing people, and Give the beggars money. Man Sui realizes you have changed, and doesn’t kill herself or you. Instead, she decides to run away, but you meet her at the river. This is the intro to the two true endings of the game. You decide to push the blame onto the terrible world and corrupt officials, specifically the Swine Demon. From here on out, there are two options, each leading to the following true endings.
Choose to kill the Swine Demon together. Beautiful ending. You and Man Sui devise a plan to assassinate the Swine Demon under the guise of performing shadow play. You succeed, and there are a few amazing frames. After killing him successfully, you two get barraged by the archers and guards, and die together. Then, your spirits go in peace to a land free of suffering or starvation.
Choose to join the rebel army. My favorite ending. You join the rebel army with a promise to kill the Swine Demon, and Man Sui will spare you until this promise is complete. In the end, you meet with a now grown up and beautiful Man Sui, and you go together to go meet the girls you saved and left with Kite.
