obligatory introductory segment
If you don’t know how to run The Binding of Isaac, here is a tutorial:
1: buy
2: download
3: play
4: consume
.. And that’s been the tutorial for how to play The Binding of Isaac! I hope you enjoy this guide, and I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!!
It’s the key
Only keys would entail that you can’t get secret rooms without some item like Mr. Boom or Bob’s Rotten Head. It would also mean that you can’t buy anything from the shop unless you have the single item that can give you free items, (from what i remember), the Credit Card. The last thing that it would also mean is that you can’t heal. No hearts. None. This isn’t as big as an issue, as most people play The Lost. (for the better..) However, because you play as The Lost for this challenge, you die in 1-2 hits. Yeah. Have fun, by the way!
It only gets worse, though… Familiars can’t take anything, either. No Bum Friend, no Dark Bum, no Bumbo, no Lil’ portal, no whatever picks up pickups!! Except for Key Bum, that guy is good. Well, he isn’t good, but you get what I mean.
For beating this challenge, you get Ace of Spades. It’s cool, I guess.
ZIP!
Let me paint a picture. You are very skilled at The Binding of Isaac. You get to Boss Rush and Hush almost every run. Y’know, Boss Rush, the thing that opens when you beat Mom in less than 20 minutes. Hush, too! The thing that appears when you beat It Lives! in less than 30 minutes. You want a challenge, so you decide to…
Beat The Lamb in 20 minutes. 20. Minutes.
That’s the achievement. You have 20 minutes to get to The Lamb. According to my calculations, that would mean that you would have to get to Mom in about 10 minutes or so to be on time. Of course, I’m always wrong, but that’s what my brain thought. Fun. Very, very… Fun.
You get Ace of Diamonds for beating it, so that’s cool. Ace of Diamonds is actually pretty good, so that’s nice!
RERUN
In order to beat the RERUN achievement, you need complete 3 victory laps! Wow! That’s more than I can count! Are you noticing a trend here?
I don’t know what the developers were doing, but for whatever reason, they made achievements related to The Lamb the worse ones. I think The Lamb is actually an interesting boss, being an evil carnation of Isaac (from what i understand). They just.. mangle The Lamb, man.. It’s sad! I don’t know why they did this, this isn’t even related to RERUN, it’s just.. Why, man? Why??
I’m sure you skipped over the tangent. I don’t blame you. You’re here for RERUN, after all! Well, in beating RERUN, you get the power of RERUN! I don’t know what this means. I haven’t actually done it yet, I’m reading off the darn Isaac wiki for this one. My guess is that, like, you can rerun? I mean, it makes sense, but what does it mean in the first place? Oh well.
A whole kerpoodle of smaller scale things
Black hole: Defeat 20 portals. Simple enough!
Mystery gift: Break 500 rocks. I don’t know why, but.. You sort of do it in basic game play, so it doesn’t really matter..
Sprinkler: Beat Chapter 1 (Basement, Cellar, Burning Basement) without taking damage. Not that bad!
Bozo: Destroy 5 rainbow poops. Happens in normal gameplay! Good achievement!
Broken Modem: Complete 5 daily challenges by touching the trophies. On the road to dedication!
Buddy in a Box: Pick up 5 familiars in a run. What’s with 5? It’s a basic number…
Fast Bombs: Defeat Little Horn 20 times. He deserves it!!
Hairpin: Charge with Lil’ Batteries (the ones that fully charge any item/half charge a 12 charge item!) 20 times. Basic!
Butter!: Complete 2 victory laps. Not The Lamb again!
Huge Growth: Increase your size 5 times (Magic Mushroom, One makes you larger pills, or strength). Sort of hard, actually!
Ancient Recall: Use cards or runes 20 times. Normal!
Coupon: Buy literally anything 50 times! This includes shops, devil deals, black markets, anything you can buy! Greed is good!
Telekinesis: Beat Chapter 2 (Caves, Flooded Caves, Catacombs) without taking damage. Harder!
Moving Box: Use Pandora’s Box in Dark Room. By golly, when does this Lamb guy quit??
That’s been the intermission checkpoint of this guide! I suggest a 30 minute gamer break with all this smelly reading. Eugh!
Lil’ Spewer!
The unlock condition for this bundle of belch is that you need to keep yourself safe, if you know what I mean! However, you need to keep yourself safe with exclusive things. These things are Ipecac, Bob’s Rotten Head, and the Horf! pill. The worst thing about the achievement is losing that sweet Ipecac run…
Lil’ Spewer isn’t really that good.. I mean, he can’t even hit a whole class of enemies! Due to flying enemies not getting effected by creep, Lil’ Spewer is useless for a big part of the game. I mean, he can’t do anything against Delirium, he’s just a little boy!
The… The, uhh.. I forgor?
Jokes aside, The Forgotten is a whole spaghetti of mysteries. I’m sure there’s better guides, but you came for mysteries you don’t know of! First off, you need The Negative. That’s not even arguable, it’s pretty much required. To get The Negative, you beat Mr. Stan 6 times in normal runs!
Now that you unlocked The Negative, you are ready to forgor! First off, beat the first floor in a minute! I don’t know, just be normal and pick Azazel.. That’s what everyone else does, because it’s either difficult or probably impossible to this with other characters. Probably, anyways.
You would know if you did this successfully if you hear Mom scream out after you beat the boss. Now, you skedaddle your way to the starting room. Bomb anywhere, it doesn’t matter where. A broken shovel should fall from nowhere. Pick. It. Up.
However, as you pick the broken shovel up.. Whoa, is that one of Mom’s feet??? Is her foot disconnected from her body?? Whoa!! She’s stomping on me, oh my neptune!!
Mom’s feet are going to stomp you throughout the whole run. It’s all the shovel! If you even dare to drop it off for a different active item.. It’s gone! You have to restart now! Accidentally picked up an active item? Haha! You have to restart now, and it’s all your fault! If you have Schoolbag, you can probably pick up an active item. This game has enough randomness that it’s probable that you can only have this shovel.
Using the shovel, because it’s an active item, will cause Mom’s feet to stop stomping you for the room. It’s good for bosses! You also shouldn’t have to worry about time, and that will be important… Later..
Because of this stomping conundrum, you take your time. Aw, man! I missed Boss Rush! You think to yourself as you beat Mom. However, it… Boss Rush is open, why is it open? You have to beat Boss Rush to fix the shovel. Mom still stomps at you, and using the item only stops her for a single wave.
After a long struggle, you beat Boss Rush.. You can fix the shovel!!! Hooray!! Mom will no longer stomp you, and it’s now a better We Need to go Deeper! Hooray!
After obtaining the shovel, you have to find a special room in the Dark Room. There will be a patch of… Dark dirt, whatever the Dark Room is made out of. Use the shovel on the dirt. In using the shovel on the dirt, you.. You did it!! Oh my god, you did it!! Everyone started cheering, and everyone was super proud of you, oh my god!! You just won the internet for the day, my friend.
Literally all of this can be skipped by using Spindown Dice on Mucormycosis, though.. Soo… Have fun!
the end (for now)
