Welcome to our guide for Shisensho Solitaire! If you’re looking to earn achievements in this game, then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll be sharing tips on how to get achievements as quickly as possible. Keep reading to find out more!
General Tips / Quick Achievements for Settings and Miscellaneous
(1) Go to “Options” and select the options below:
-From the Game tab, change the tiles to the “Color” theme
-Change the Pointer (might get the achievement “The Crayfish Sides with the Crab” right away)
-Turn on Night Mode (this setting is under the “Video” tab; I just put it on 25%)
(2) Select a Time Attack game on the smallest sized board
(3) Match roughly half the tiles (Tip: Look at the counter on the bottom left of the screen; the furthest left number represents the tiles remaining on the board, and the number to the right represents the current potential matches)
(4) Then, click on the menu at the top right and switch it to a Casual game.
(5) Intentionally click non-matching tiles 5 times in row. You’ll get the achievement “Drunken Life, Dreamy Death” for 5 consecutive misses in a row.
(6) Use all 4 of the support tools at the top right (Shuffle, Undo, Hint, and Spotlight).
You should now have the following achievements after winning that game:
“The Crayfish Sides with the Crab” Change the mouse pointer
“Drunken Life, Dreamy Death” 5 consecutive misses in a row
“Solve One Problem” Win a game with the color tiles
“A Wise Man” Win a game with Night Mode
“Not Knowing is Buddha” Use all 4 support tools in one game
“Even Monkeys Fall from Trees” Switch from Time Attack to Casual and Win
At this point, I recommend switching the tile theme back to the default, or to something other than “Color” before playing more. Color can be more difficult to find matches quickly on larger boards.
If you click on the Credits and watch them, you can get another achievement very quickly:
“A Person of High Principles” Watch all the credits.
Cumulative Achievements / Fast Loses and Clearing Jokers
(A) Game Types
-100% the Campaign
-Win 10 Casual games
-Win 100 Time Attack games
-Win 100 Mini Games
(B) Gameplay
-5 Consecutive misses
-Match 400 Seasonal tiles
-Match 200 Flower tiles
-Lose 100 Games
-Clear 100 Jokers
-Clear 4 of the same tile consecutively, 100 times
First, I recommend 100%ing the main Campaign. If you didn’t follow the previous section for quick achievements, you may need to get “Drunken Life, Dreamy Death” for 5 consecutive misses. Simply click 5 sets of mismatching tiles in a row during any game. An achievement you’ll probably get organically is “Wake from the Dead and Return to Life,” but you can get it intentionally by just starting a campaign mission, going back to main menu, then continuing the same campaign mission and winning.
Next, win 10 Casual games. You’ll only need 9 if you followed the previous section.
The rest of the cumulative achievements are just tedious, not difficult. You’ll get 12 achievements for playing 100 Time Attack games and 100 Mini Games, but you can knock out some Gameplay achievements in the process.
(1) Time Attack: I recommend starting with Time Attack on the smallest board and just playing 100 games. You’ve probably already have some decent progress towards matching 400 Seasonal tiles and 200 Flowers from the Campaign. The 100 Time Attack games will add a lot more of these matches, but don’t worry if you don’t get those 2 achievements by the time you finish the 100 Time Attack games, because the next 100 Mini Games will make more progress towards them as well.
(2) Mini Game: Now, begin playing Mini Games on the smallest board. Time doesn’t matter right now but make it long enough that you can complete the board. During these 100 games, you’ll want to try to match 4 of the same tiles consecutively for the “If You Eat a Pheasant” achievement. Mini Game is the easiest place to do this because it has so many of the same tiles in easily matching positions. Tip: Do Not let the last 4 tiles be set up in a square X formation. For example, the last 4 tiles make a square and the tile in the top left matches the bottom right while the top right matches the bottom left; that scenario will cause you to lose the most. By the time you’re done with the 100 Mini Games, you should have “As Vivid as Life” for matching 400 Seasonal tiles and “Not Seeing is a Flower” for matching 200 Flowers, as well as “If You Eat a Pheasant” for matching 4 of the same tiles in a row 100 times. If not, you’re probably close and could check in the second tab of the Player Scorecard to see how many more matches you need for the achievements.
(3) Cumulative Clean-up: You probably have some loses but nowhere near 100, and haven’t cleared 100 Jokers yet. A quick way to kill these 2 birds with 1 stone is to select Mini Game with the largest board (10×5) and set the Time to 10 seconds. Then, just click the Joker tiles, which will start the timer and you’ll lose when the 10 second timer runs out (If you don’t have “A Fall into a Ditch” for running out of time yet, you’ll get it now). All you have to do is click “Try Again” or “New Game” and repeat until you have these achievements:
“A Hundred No’s” Lose 100 games
“Eat Your Autumn Eggplants” Clear 100 Joker tiles
The Hardest Achievements / 18×8 board in Time Attack
“Everything at the Right Time” Finish the 18×8 in Time Attack within 15 minutes
“Patient in a Moment of Anger” Finish the 18×8 in Time Attack within 10 minutes
“Genius is Recognized” Finish the 18×8 in Time Attack within 5 minutes
If you want to get these achievements “legitimately,” you have to plan out your moves BEFORE making the first match, because the first match triggers the timer to start. Tip: You can take a picture or screenshot/printscreen the board to draw out your plan.
However, the easiest way to get these achievements is to just plan 8 to 10 matches at a time and frequently pause the game:
(1) Plan your first ~8 moves
(2) Make the matches quickly and then take a pic/screenshot
(3) PAUSE. The pause screen covers the tiles on the board; that’s why you need to take the pic/screenshot before pausing.
(4) Plan your next ~8 moves and repeat steps 2 and 3 until you finish the game.
*You probably won’t win within 5 minutes on your first attempt, but this method should get you the achievement the quickest.* If 8 is too many matches to keep track of, try 6 and practice making the matches then pausing as quickly as possible. Don’t get discouraged, it’s possible to beat it.
