Selene’s Unbearable Night: Alternative Ending/Selfish Achievement Complete Guide

If you proceed differently from the normal procedure in chapter 1, you will reach a different ending.
This guide provides detailed instructions on how to proceed.

Here is the progression order until entering the alternative route.
The progress is the same as normal route until the middle.
No problem even if the order in which you obtain the five books is different from the order displayed below.
I recommend using chapter select.
you don’t have to run the full game again 🙂

1. Untie the restraints, get the stone and go up the stairs.

2. In the first room on the 1st floor, Get the flashlight and the book on the piano.

3. Obtain the Second book on the dining table room next to the kitchen.

4. Receive a call in the room with the bookshelf.
(You cannot go up to the 2nd floor until you receive a call.)

5. Move to 2nd floor.

5. Get the 3rd book in the room with the broken white clock.

6. Get the 4th book in the room with two beds and a ghost under them.

7. Get the 5th book in the room with inverted pentagram (devils star) on the wall.

8. Once you have all 5 books, go back to the room with the telephone on the 1st floor.
No other items are needed for now.

9. In the room with the phone, check the bookshelf and activate the projector in the next hidden room.

Now you are ready for another route!
Triggered by film playback.
Strictly speaking, it will be triggered shortly before the film finishes playing.
The cue is when you hear a woman scream and noise sound.

Another route unlocked by the playback of the mysterious film.
From now on, you will be collecting items that dont appear in the normal route.
Basically, you will be visiting the rooms shown at the end of the film.

1. After playing the film, return to the starting point on B1F.

2. A candle will appear on top of the blue drum instead of the stone.
(Please note that it will not appear until near the end of the film playback.)
Get this candle and head to the piano room on the 1st floor.

3. Obtain the second candle in the toilet at the back of the piano room.

4. Go up to the 2nd floor and head to the room with the bathtub filled with blood.
Get the third candle and the kitchen key here.

5. Return to 1st floor and use the key to enter the kitchen.
Obtain the candle on the table in the back.
Now you have all the candles you need!

6. Go to the room with the devil star sign on the 2nd floor.
You can now investigate the bed like never before.
Set the candles and perform the ritual.
A short cutscene will begin.
Now you got the front door key!

Do you remember the brown door at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor?
In the first escape scene, a masked cultist comes out of that door.
Though you could never open it.
The last goal you should aim for is that door.

7. Return to the 1st floor.
Use the front door key on the brown door at the end of the hallway.
If you answer YES, the bad ending will begin.

After the cutscene, game over screen displayed.
If you exit the game in this state, the achievement will be unlocked.
