Welcome to our guide on “Rust: The Complete List of “p2w” Items In RUST”. In this article, we will be discussing all the items in Rust that provide competitive advantages and are often considered “pay-to-win” by players. It’s important to note that not all of these items are paid and some may no longer be obtainable, which is why we have put “p2w” in quotation marks. This is simply a list of items in Rust that give players an added edge over those who do not have them. Let’s dive in and explore the world of “p2w” items in Rust.
Intro
It should also be noted that not all of these are actually paid items, and many can’t be acquired anymore which is why I have so essentially this is a list of items that gives you an added benefit over people who don’t have said item.
Essential Items
- Bandana Mask and Boonie Hat
These two items can only be crafted if you own a skin for them however, the Boonie hat is a decent form of protection and even better when combined with a bandana mask. Together these items will provide a 25%% projectile protection. The bandana can be paired with many different head slot items and is used a lot in early-mid game gear load-outs. - Arctic Suit
The Arctic suit is a skin for the Hazmat suit and gives you a boost in cold protection and stops you from getting wet but slightly decreases your radiation levels. This is the only hazmat skin with altered stats in-game and can be found in the Arctic Pack in the Rust Item Store.
Camouflage Skins
- Spacesuit
- Nomad Outfit
Both these skins are for the Hazmat suit and make it no longer a bright yellow and red color. - Mummy Wraps
This is an underwear item. Having this item means you’ll be able to select this as your player’s default appearance and become more camouflaged and able to hide better in bushes. - Egg suit
The egg suit can be painted however you like when unequipped giving you the ability to help you blend in with your environment.

Both these bow skins feature space in the design of their frame allowing for you to see through them.
Unique Craftable Items
Frontier base decor pack DLC
- Storage Barrels
There are 2 variants of storage barrels and one of them is one of the only forms of vertical storage in the game besides lockers and fridges.
- Rocking chair
This item can be used to boost comfort and heal inside your base.
There are also planters that come in 2 variants of size and the Skinning Knife Tool which can be good for harvesting animals and can produce trophies that can be mounted on Hunting Trophies that can then be hung up on a wall. There are a couple more items in the Frontier base decor pack DLC but these are just the items that offer advantages.
- Frog Boots
These give you very good cold and radiation protection without the need of a workbench.
- Headset
This is a twitch drop item, which gives you the same bullet protection as the boonie hat plus bandana combo but for 5 less cloth and can be paired with the bandana.
- Surgeon Scrubs
- Ninja Suit
These are both unique items however have the exact same stats as the bone armor. Surgeon scrubs and ninja suit have 25% projectile protection from head to toe instead of just your chest to your toes like the bone armor. However, the Ninja Suit is from a Twitch drop
- Clatter Helmet
This is effectively a bucket helmet but doesn’t require a blueprint to craft and can be worn in combination with the bandana for extra protection. However, one downside is that it shoots flames out the top so kinda glows in the dark so watch out at night time. This item is unlocked by logging 30m of the Clatter Game on Steam which is now free.
- Snowman helmet
The snowman helmet gives quite a lot of protection. However you can’t equip it with a bandana, it should be noted that the Dracula mask is the same but does cost a little bit more.
- Rabbit mask
- Tiger mask
- Ox mask
- Rat mask
- Dragon mask
These are all skins for the wolf headdress and can be paired with the bandana for added protection.
SunBurn Pack DLC
- Beach Towels
These function exactly the same as a sleeping bag and have the same cost, but they are smaller and come by default with many colors that can blend into different areas.
- Boogie Board
Lets you move faster in water without needing to buy a boat or kayak and is very cheap to craft. It also keeps you dry so you can swim through arctic waters without needing to pause.
- Water Pistol and Soaker
Both these guns can shoot out water to put out flames if you’re getting Molotov raided. Additionally shooting players with the water gun while in the arctic biome can cause players to die if they aren’t able to get dry fast enough.
- Sunbathing chair
Lets you allows you to peek over windows where you can see the enemy and the enemy can’t see you which is really good for roof camping.
There are a couple more items in the SunBurn Pack DLC but these are just the items that offer advantages.
- Chinese lantern
This functions the same as a normal lantern but can be placed out of the way as it hangs from the ceiling which is much more convenient and space manageable.
- Skull Spikes
It can be used to light up an area and is very cheap to craft only costing 1 skull and 150 wood.
- Christmas Lights
In a similar vein to glowing skins, these can be placed within a base wherever you like and don’t require electricity. Can be used to mark certain areas or something like a heli landing pad.
- Festive Garlands
The Festive Garlands are basically the same as the holiday lights but much cheaper and don’t require electricity or low-grade.
- Twitch Rivals Trophy
This is a little placeable trophy from the Twitch Rivals event which gave you 100 comfort but has now been nerfed recently down to 70%
- Garry’s Mod Tool Gun
Like a normal hammer but can repair and upgrade from further away, could be used during raid defense potentially. A special gift to owners of Garry’s Mod that played 30m Celebrating 15 years!
- Snow Machine
This item allows you to hide land mines underneath the snow that it makes which makes for pretty cool basic base protection to catch people off guard.
- Fogger-3000
This item has a motion sensor on it which you can place outside your base and this is quite good if you have issues with door campers because it makes a loud noise if someone triggers it alerting you that someone is outside your base.
- Cursed Cauldron
This is quite good to place on top of your campfire when cooking food and can be used as a slight jump up to areas in your base.
Voice props Pack DLC
There are only 2 key things in this DLC which can offer an advantage which are:
- Laser lights
This can placed in your base and used in a creative way to disguise your auto turret’s laser.
- Cell Phone
There is a regular telephone in the base game each phone has a unique number and then you can store those numbers inside of the cell phone. This is good because if you ally with someone you can give them your cell phone and then contact them instead of doing it through in-game chat.
- Pattern sofa
Boosts comfort just like the rocking chair allowing you to regenerate health faster in base once you respawn.
- Industrial lights
Unlike the lights in the base game the industrial lights only use 1 power instead of 2 however you can’t use them to grow plants but it is really good overall for lighting up your base.
- Hobo Barrel
It’s a twitch drop but if someone has it just works Like a normal campfire, can be used as a jump-up instead of a furnace if you haven’t collected the low grade yet.
