Welcome to our guide for Rivals of Aether II, where we will help you achieve 100% completion and claim all those pesky achievements. This walkthrough is currently a work in progress, but we are in the process of creating videos to assist you with the Character Specific Achievements. Stay tuned for more updates!
Intro
This guide will show you how to get all the achievements in Rivals of Aether II.
— Character Specific Achievements —
Most of these achievements can be done in training mode. This is the recommended method as its easier to set things up perfectly. The dummies can be set to 999% in the training menu which makes getting the “Get a KO with…” achievements a lot easier
Note: Make use of the Save and Load State functionally in Training Mode. This way you don’t have to set up everything again if you fail. Just load the state and try again.
Zetterburn 🔥
Zetterburns Neutral Special makes a big ball of fire surround him. Since this move comes out very fast (Frame 2). You can get lots of Neutral Specials off in quick succession.
To do this easily, get 3 dummies. Set them up pretty much right on top of each other. Then you can Neutral Special -> Jump -> Neutral Special -> Jump -> Neutral Special
Having 3 dummies there makes it a lot more likely to make sure all the Neutral Specials hit at least one person.
Zetterburn’s Down Special travels diagonally with a spike hitbox.
In order to get this achievement you have to go off stage above the void for it to trigger. It will not work if you land on stage.
To do this easily, throw the opponent off stage, jump, then hit them with the Down Special. You want to drag them down with you towards the bottom. You do not need to make it back to the stage, so dying here is ok.
Clairen ⏰
Fully charging Clariens Neutral Special will kill at almost any percent. Grab 2 dummies and hold Neutral Special until you get that massive beam.
This one is a bit more tricky. Clairen’s Down Special is a counter. When hit by an opponent during the move, Clairen creates a field that damages the opponents during its creation.
I did this with a Loxodant dummy. I got him to about ~170% then forward threw him off the stage. You want to stand at the ledge and press Down Special as Loxodont does his recovery move. If you time it right, the field will send Loxodant down and make it impossible for him to recover to the stage.
Loxodont 🐘
A pretty simple one. Get a dummy, stand next to them, Up Special. Easy
Loxodant’s Neutral Special sends out a Molten Boulder. You can charge this move to give it more distance as well as angle it by holding a direction as you charge.
The strat here is to hit the boulder with the tipper hitbox of Loxodant’s Jab 1. This will send the Boulder up and slightly forward. Any other move will send it flying.
The way I did this was I headed to Merchant Port. Its a large stage and the platforms are spread out enough where the Boulder isn’t going to hit them and get destroyed early.
To start, get under the left side of the right most platform
- Press Neutral B to start charging Molten Boulder
- Once charging, hold Up to angle the Boulder Up
- As soon as the Boulder gets launched, immediately do a Wavedash back
- Use Loxodant’s Jab 1 tipper to send the Boulder up and slightly forward
- Move forward slightly
- Jab 1 again
- Rinse and Repeat
Kragg 🗻
Kragg’s Neutral Special lets you pull a giant rock from the ground. If it is hit by any attack, it will break and launch rock pellets in that attacks general direction. Place the rock between you and your opponent and hit it with a move that attacks towards the opponent, like Dash Attack or Forward Strong
Another execution heavy achievement. When Kragg has a rock he can throw it in a few directions, we are going to focus on throwing it down for this one.
Once you have a rock, Jump and input Down and Attack/Special (Either button here works) so that it hits an opponent. The rock should be knocked back up in the air. From here, Jump and Input Neutral Special again when next to the midair rock. This will let you re-grab the rock. Throw the rock down again, rinse and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
Maypul 🍃
Maypul has some friends that she can bring out to change the tide of battle. Each of her friends need you do perform a different move to bring them out
- Lily: Grounded Down Special
- Poppy: Special Pummel
- Terry: Ledge Special
The friends do go away on their own if you take too long but the timing is pretty generous
Several of Maypul’s moves mark an opponent like Neutral Special. Once marked, you can press Attack+Special to tether to that opponent. The best way to do this is to mark an opponent, tether, then throw out a Neutral Air.
Ranno 🐸
Just like the other Up Special KO achievements. Up Special next to a dummy at 999% for an easy unlock
This is the one I had the most trouble with.
Ranno’s mechanic is Poison. A few of his moves build stacks of poison and it caps out at 4 stacks. The more stacks of Poison an opponent has, the longer they stay in the bubble. The easiest way to get max poison stacks is using Special Pummel.
I did this by heading on over to Merchant Port. Get your opponent to max poison stacks and head on over to the right ledge. You want as much space a possible for this.
The opponent should be next to the ledge with you: [Opponent][You][Ledge]
Once you get the set up I highly recommend you make a save state. You will most likely fail this a number of times.
Perform a Forward Special, this will grab the opponent and put them into a bubble.
Now for the tricky part, you need to Short Hop Forward Air 6 times to rack up enough damage to get over that 50%.
Note: Forward Special deals 6% to the opponent so if you see the opponent at slightly over 50% damage and wondering why you the achievement didn’t unlock, that is why
Forsburn 🚬
Forsburn can summon a clone by using his Forward Special. Mine didn’t unlock in training mode but you can do a normal local match with a second player and summon a clone and wait.
Once you have the Clone out, you can perform Down Special to make the clone explode. The clone will run towards the enemy by itself so just time it right for an easy kill.
Wrastor 🦅
Another easy KO achievement. Stand next to an opponent and watch Wrastor carry the opponent to their death.
Wrastor’s Special Pummel summons a tornado platform below him where it stays for a few seconds.
After using Special Pummel, just wait until you release the opponent from the grab. Then you can run up and Special Pummel them again. This timing here is a little tight but its not too bad.
Fleet 🏹
Fleet’s Up Special is a two part move. The first part sends her up and the second part sends her forward. Lucky for us, the first part is enough to kill. Stand next to an opponent and let it rip.
Fleet’s Up Strong sends an arrow straight up into the air. All you got to do is hit three of them in a row.
Get an opponent to a decently high percent, Up Throw, then get underneath and unleash the Up Strongs. Might take a few attempts since the arrow hitbox is tiny but it’s not too bad.
Orcane 🐬
Orcane’s Forward Aerial shoots out some bubbles. Now this does not do a ton of damage or knockback. What does do lots of knockback is Orcane himself. After performing a Forward Aerial you can hold back to propel Orcane in the opposite direction. Use Orcane’s body during this move to get the kill
Prob one of the more difficult ones only due to how confusing it may be. To do an Orca Hop you have to press Up Special INSTANTLY after a jump. This is a very tight input.
From my testing it does not matter how low you go, only that you do the input correctly and grab the ledge.
I did this by going on the side platforms on Hyperborean Harbor, jumping off of them, then using my double jump to do the Orca Hop and grab the ledge.
