An Overview on how to get the sleeper agent achievement in Ready or Not as easily as possible. Grab your mountain dew and piss pot, because this is going to be a long one.
Clarification (Don’t Go Lethal)
Now there’s a bit of a problem with this description, as it states that you need to ‘incapacitate 15 suspects’. As it turns out, players have been able to kill 15 enemies and still get the achievement as opposed to incapacitating them. Incapacitations (incaps) occur when using lethal weapons on suspects without causing a life-threatening injury. Most common way is to shoot suspects with 1 or 2 shots to the chest. You will know you incapacitated the suspect when you walk up to their body and it says ‘report incapacitated’ and there should be no pool of blood under them.
This is what getting two incaps looks like. Note that I shot them once both in the chest. Mag dumping suspects risks killing them.
If you have successfully incapped someone, you will see a prompt to ‘report incapacitated’ which means they are unconscious and not dead.
However, I have tried this approach and have found it to be very luck-based, risky, and not very successful.
So instead of the RNG-based and risky lethal approach, let me make the task really simple…
Loadout
Weapons:
- Beanbag Shotgun – 6 slots of ammo
Attachments: Flashlight - Any Secondary – 0 slots of ammo
The only thing that really matters here is the beanbag shotgun and bringing ALOT of ammo. Non-lethal munitions run out very quickly and you will be shooting suspects frequently to get them to comply.
Equipment:
- M320 Gas Launcher
- 4 CS gas grenades
- 1 Taser
CS grenades and having a gas mask really help to pacifying a room full of suspects. You should get your team to move and clear with these grenades for every room but use some yourself if it is a large area.
(REMEMBER TO MIDDLE CLICK AND PRESS 4 TO HOLD YOUR SQUAD TO PREVENT ARRESTS AFTER EACH ROOM)The taser is useful against very non-compliant suspects and this map is by far the hardest to get suspects to surrender. I don’t know whether it glitches or not, but I’ve had suspects that refuse to surrender no matter what I do even after bashing and shooting them countless times. If this happens, just ignore these suspects because all they will do is stand there and won’t be a threat.
The launcher doesn’t really matter but otherwise I would bring a battering ram to break doors down faster as there are a lot of locked doors on this map.
Armour and Headwear:
- Heavy Armour
Material: Ceramic
Coverage Full - Gas Mask
- Anti-Flash Goggles (Optional)
I find that ceramic is the best armour for survivability but it sacrifices player movement by slowing you down drastically. Thankfully, you can take it slow while you round up the suspects and as long as they are relatively close to one another, the player speed should be fine once you start the arrests for the achievement.
AI Loadouts (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie):
Weapons: - Beanbag Shotgun – 9 slots of ammo
Attachments: Flashlight - Any Secondary – 0 slots of ammo
- M320 Gas Launcher
Equipment:
- M320 Gas Launcher
- 2 CS gas grenades
You will be doing most of the initial clearing of rooms because it doesn’t matter whether they die or not. So make sure they have plenty of ammo. In total, your team should have 8 CS grenades and you have 4 personally.
Armour and Headwear:
- Heavy Armour
Material: Ceramic
Coverage Full - Gas Mask
- Anti-Flash Goggles (Optional)
Delta Loadout:
Same as above except: - 6 Slots of beanbag shotgun ammo
- 2 CS gas grenades
- 3 Door wedges
Not required, but I think door wedges would really help in the bar area in the middle of the map just because there are so many doors that need to be watched and these would save the hassle of getting swarmed.
Go Non-Lethal
This is my successful run of getting the achievement after I would say about 10 hours worth of attempts.
This is the 15 consecutive arrests that starts at the 38 minute mark in the previous video. Note that all the suspects were relatively close to one another. Unfortunately, it seems the game can bug out when trying to give commands to surrendered suspects, as they will refuse to listen to the ‘move there’ or ‘move to me’ commands and just sit there. You will have to work around these suspects and move the suspects that will listen to you to a close enough position.
Make sure that once you press f to arrest, that you don’t press the move keys until its fully completed.
Tips and Tricks
Naturally they will automatically want to arrest suspects when they deem the area is safe. Problem is, this will void the achievement as the arrests will be done in sequences that are longer than 15 seconds. So all suspects need to be surrendering with no one restrained.
When clearing rooms, get the friendly AI to initially spread out over the room to secure as many angles as possible. Once they are spread out, use the hold command (middle mouse button + 4).
The most important thing to do when doing this non-lethally, is to secure all weapons on the map as soon as possible. This is because once suspects have no weapons and cannot find any, they will most likely sit in the surrendering position, allowing you to safely leave a room full of suspects.
Most suspects have to two weapons, usually a rifle and a pistol. Upon surrendering, they will initally drop one weapon but won’t drop the other. You can secure both weapons by walking up the suspect and pressing f to arrest.
What this does, is force the suspect to drop their remaining weapon and are thus unarmed.
This suspect has already thrown their pistol when they put their hands up. I start the arrest and then cancel it, thus dropping his SMG. Assuming their are no caches to run to, he should stay kneeling in this spot.
However, be mindful that this map has weapon caches that are littered throughout the building. They will either come as a yellow wooden crate or a red briefcase (See below).
This is an example of how suspects can use caches to get weapons when they are unarmed.
This is the red briefcase cache that seems to only spawn near the container. This usually next to the tied up civilian and this room will have a lot of suspects.
This is a yellow cache that is usually spread around the map.
Once all the suspects have been stripped for weapons and caches have been secured. Then you can start getting them into position to be arrested.
