“Welcome to my guide for PAYDAY 2’s DSOD builds. As a beginner, I found it helpful to compile a list of builds I use, some of which I’ve copied from other players. This is simply for my own reference and to share tips with fellow new players. Most of these builds are inspired by Kevkild and are a work in progress. Let’s dive in!”
Hacker Perk deck
Hacker is nice because it basically stuns all the enemies around you. It requires you to be extra aggressive because of the cooldown of pECM and the mechanics of the perkdeck. Therefore, I tend to use spammy weapons such as akimbo smg’s or graze ace snipers.
* It’s also nice for trying crazy/unique weapons since you have high dodge and the pECM.
Some tips for beginners:
- When you activate pECM, killing enemies affected by it will heal you. Also, each kill reduces the cooldown by 6 seconds.
- First aid kits (FAKs) are used for tanking damage or preventing downs through the “uppers” skill. place it down near you before doing something risky.
- It takes about 15 kills to get another pECM. If you kill enough fast, you can chain the pECM several times.
┠ Akimbo-SMG ammo no inspire
Kevkild’s Build. Slightly modified the weapons.
[Equipment]
– Two-piece Suit
– pocket ECM
– Ammobags
– buzzer
[Akimbo CR 805B Submachine Guns] – 24 Conceal
– Short Barrel
– Rami Suppressor (Medium Suppressor, Medved R4 also works)

* if you don’t mind the slow reload, use the expert mag or L5 mag on the akimbos and swap the suppressor on the 5/7 for a flash hider
Tips for Beginners
- This Build uses the ‘Low Blow’ skill Basic. Which means that as long the concealment is under 5, you get a 30% crit chance bonus. (You can’t get 5 concealment so aim for 4 or 3)
- Use the pistol against shields. Press F to see the outline and shoot their head. You may switch around the skills for the ‘Shock and Awe’ skill Ace to allow you to knock over shields if you don’t like switching to your secondary.
- The AP pistol is under 128 damage. Therefore it doesn’t One-shot Normal SWATs(Lights). If you use a Higher concealment primary, Change the Suppressor for a ‘Flash Hider’. It will pass 128 damage allowing you to One-Shot a Light to the head.
- This Build uses Bullet storm. This skill gives you unlimited ammo for a short period after using the ammobag. When you deplete the ammobag it will give you 60 seconds of unlimited ammo regardless of how much ammo you took.
- This Build uses 2 Jokers. Convert 2 non-special enemies during the heist. They will take some of the aggro off of you and give you a speed and health buff.

Equipment Explained For Beginners
FAKs / Medbags
- FAKs with the ‘Uppers’ skill Aced automatically uses a FAKs that was placed near you when you go down. preventing you from going down. great for health based builds.
- Medbags reset your remaining downs left. It is a waste to use them for health in most situations. Revenant skill based builds or Leech builds sinergize well with medbags. otherwise, it is normal to pair these with non-health based builds such as anarchist or beserker skill based builds.
Ammobags
- Pair them with ‘Bullet Storm’ for unlimited ammo for short durations.
- Good for spawn camping enemies because you don’t have to worry about not being able to reach the ammo drops beyond the map. (i.e. Panic room roof, Heat street extraction etc.)
Trip Mines and Shaped Charges
- Tripmines in detection mode will highlight enemies. Great for wall-piercing guns such as snipers.
- Tripmines with the ‘Fire Trap’ skill are good for preventing enemies from turning off the power etc. place them on the floor in front of the powerbox.
- Shaped charges are nice alternatives to drilling/sawing stuff. Use the ‘more firepower’ skill to get a maximum of 6 shaped charges.
ECM
- With the ‘ECM overdrive’ skill Aced, these can be used to Open doors.
- ‘ECM Specialist’ basic allows you to place 2 ECMs.
- ECM Feedback turned on will make the enemy turret shoot the enemies instead of you. good for surviving open maps with turrets.
Sentry Gun
- As they are basically a Stationary Joker, they are great at taking some of the aggro off of you.
- Not very good in DW/DS/DSOD because of the higher enemy damage. you need to place them strategically in those difficulties. On the other hand, sentry guns in lower difficulties can make a heist super easy.
