Welcome to our Adventurer Guild: Level Up Calculator! This excel-based tool allows you to easily see how traits and skills affect your character’s growth as you level them up. Simply input your character’s information and see the changes in real-time. Check it out here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XoOzi9JCy4bOBHuI86GFYgz05foMwb-pYyhXbR8_2FQ/edit?usp=sharing.
About the calculator
The are six tabs in the production version, the basic calculator (empty by default), an example of what an early level Elan might look like, 3 empty pre-made character placeholders and and the data section.
The class and traits are select-able based on the traits listed in the data section (it’s possible I missed one or more, if so feel free to call it out in the comments).
Character specific traits are flagged with the character name, as seen in the Elan example these are formatted <Name of character> – Name of trait, stars on a stat can be entered as <star> – Stat abbreviation (Dex, End, Int, Str, Wis, WP), equipment that boosts growth is designated with <Equippable> – Item name, currently the only such item that I am aware of is the Old Grimoire.
The calculate itself has a few sections,
The Top left is the Growth Rate calculation, this is a characters base growth rate (class based) and all the traits, gear, and stars that impact it.
The raw growth rate will generate one point in a stat for each 100 points and has a % chance to give you an additional point based on the remaining 10’s and 1’s. So for example a stat with a 230 growth rate would give you 2 points (200) and you would have a 30% (230-200) chance to get a third point in that stat.
Beneath the raw growth rate section is the class and traits selector. Every trait box has to be filled for the calculator to work, so if you want to remove a trait from the calculator you must enter “none”.
The upper right Growth Rate values are based on the target class you have in mind, this allows a character to be compared between present state and any class change you may have in mind.
Directly under the growth rates is the selector that allows you to put a ‘target class’ which you would like to compare. It uses the same traits as the Current class calculator, but replaces the growth values with the class you have selected.
Under the Target class selector is the Target Class Growth Change, this shows how the target class impacts each of the stat growth values.
The next two sections down provide a breakdown of what you might see when leveling.
Minimum increase is the least stat improvement you will get, beneath that is the percentage chance of getting one more than the minimum (because of the way leveling works you can only ever get one extra), under that is the “Current class max value” which will show the highest stat you can get in the level. This is mostly there so that it can power the “Level up value range”, the final field which shows the range of stats you can get from the level increase. Using the bottom field you can directly compare the highest and lowest value in each stat that you could get.
The final bottom section is a breakdown of how the class change you have targeted will impact the minimum value of each stat, the max obtainable value of each stat, and the percentage chance of getting that extra stat point. This helps determine how much impact a class change will have on your stat growth.
How to use the calculator
You can either download as an one of the intractable supported formats or copy it to your own google drive. Each of the two options is highlighted below.
Once you have your own file you should be able to edit it. The main fields of interest are the “current class selector”, the “target class selector” and the “traits selector”.
Set the current class to the value for the character you are calculating, then go to the traits selector and select each trait, star and growth gear that applies to your character in one of the selection boxes in column A. This will fill out the growth values in that row. Make sure to enter each trait only one time.
The boxes are validation controlled so you can pick from the provided list or start to type part of it and it will bring up an auto selection value (only guaranteed in Google sheets).
If desired, you can put a class that you are considering changing to in the Target Class Selector, though strictly speaking that is not required for the calculator to work (you’ll get a bunch of nulls in the target class values without one though).
In order for the traits to work, all traits in the selector must be valid, for this reason, when removing a trait from a character, make sure to type “None”.
I find it works best to copy the calculator tab (or one of the unfilled character tabs) for each character I recruit, and then rename the tab to the character’s name, this prevents you from having to clear and repopulate traits as different characters level.
If you know what your doing you can try adding your own traits into the data section, but make sure to insert rows into the middle parts of the table so you maintain the range look-ups.
I’ve tried to include all the traits and classes available, but I may have missed something, so feel free to let me know in the comments and I’ll revise as time allows. Game is still early access so some changes are certainly coming (e.g Reaper class is announced but not released).
