Welcome to the “Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy: 100% Achievements Guide”! This simple guide will help you organize and plan your journey to achieving 100% completion in the game. Don’t worry about missing any achievements, as there are none that can be missed. However, some may require some grinding. Additionally, you will find some personal notes included in this guide. Let’s get started!
Introduction
Had a good time with this one, its has a very decent length (around 50-60 hours) and the battle system can go really fast if you hold down the confirmation button which I tremendously was grateful for. All dialogue and cutscenes can be quickly skipped which is also a plus.
Just made the guide to give other achievement hunters my notes on the game and just show it’s an easy 100%.
Fun Fact, some achievements icons line-up so you can make a character’s full body.
I used these two guides whenever I got stuck, check them out:

Notes
WIS is used for elemental damage while SPI is used for healing amount and magic defense.
PHY is used for HP and critical hit resistance while LUK is used to resist negative status effects as well as improve your odds of applying them and also non-elemental attack magic. STR is used for main hand attack damage and SPD for sub-hand attack damage (caps at 25) as well as turn order.
Equipping the Key Tool “Hachi’s Workout Pack” will make every monster be 5 levels higher and give around 20% more XP and GP(I think), so if you can beat monsters with it equipped, go ahead, be careful with powerul wanted variants and bosses, they will also have more levels if you have it equipped and can get nasty.
Level cap during the first half of the game is 15, its pointless to switch blood codes(classes), you dont keep anything from your old blood code until you are able to get to level 99 in the post-game.
There are a lot of enemy groups with 3+enemies, I suggest you get at least two Samurais in your party for their skill that hits an entire group without wasing mana. Samurais can use Boomerangs which can be used as weapons from the Back Row. The Samurai’s second skill which counters an evaded hit ALWAYS gives the target enemy a counterstrike to try and hit you.
An Academic will save you lots of GP with their Identify skill and door unlocking abilities, not to mention they have a skill to restore your Unity meter which will help you increase your Unity cap faster as you use Unity then refill it with the Academic’s skill. They also have the NeoChain spell which increased the battle frequency, perfect for grinding and Call Portal to teleport to explored squares saving time and keys.
The Knight has an ability to be a decoy for your entire party, give it a high Phy and Luk to prevent status effects and 1-shot kills and your other party members wont have to worry too much about single target attacks. Pump SPD if you dont use Unity Fast Code often, so the Knight can use Aegis before the enemy attacks.
Its very wise to always use Unity powers, as you level up your Unity rating, your stats also go up, do not mix Good and Evil characters since the rating will go up, the most balanced party is 3 Evil or Good and 3 Neutral.
Items like power recorders sometimes get added to the shop after missions, so dont worry about having to buy them before shop gets restocked, new stock gets added ontop of old stock.
You will get a lot of power recorders from rewards and at the shop for 1000GP each, I started using them before every red scripted fight(boss fight) just in case.
Weapons have ranges, Range M and L lets you attack from the back row.
Pass Code Key Tool Items are equippable, equip them to bypass item restrictions like level or types, you can equip both the type and the level ones at once.
Some hidden doors wont be “sensed” if the square you entered had a scripted battle, always retry a square after winning a scripted battle if you think there might be a hidden door there. Heck, some doors wont be sensed at all, specially during 2nd semester, I often checked “The Weak”‘s guide when I felt hopelessly lost just to see I missed a stupid hidden door i never sensed :/
Locked doors that require keys need a key each time you try to open them, so, after the first time.
Use the item or spell “Call portal”, it can save time on moving around a dungeon to already known locations just portal to the other side of that door.
Pandora’s Box (100kGP item) is a 1-time consumable item that can refill your Unity item to full, give you extra defense or nullity enemy special attacks during one turn, not very useful in the early game where making that much money is hard.
Some weapons have enemy affinities in Red which means they do next to NO damage to that type of enemy, use Affixes to Fix that, for example, Most weapons have Red Par on them which means they do almost no damage to Paranormal enemies, like ghosts, so use a PL-Energy Affix Flug-In to counter that weakness.
An armor with a Red Variant Affinity has less defense against that type of variant, if the armor has a white variant affinity its stronger against them (extra defense/evade).
Still dont know what the Affix bonuses of U-Bst and U-Loc do…
I have no idea what’s the point of Source code Affixes, it just replicates one item into another?
Sometimes monsters wont attack and you have a choice to leave, observe or attack, this is so you can change your Trait(Evil/Good), it doesnt happen right away, you need to go to Therapy back at base, so feel free to choose whatever you want.
You can only boost an item as high as its level. For example, a level 15 item can only be boosted to +15. The only way to get equipment beyond its level is to get lucky random loot, which will occasionally come enhanced beyond its level. You want positive DEF and Negative Evade.
-The Weak
Boosting Armor only increases Defense and never Evade.
Sometimes, the game stores all your GP into its bank, dont freak out if your GP suddenly reads 0, you can still buy from the store even if your GP is stored away, honestly, I dont see the point of having GP storage.
During the 2nd semester, use a power recorder before getting to the scripted fight on NE corner of Highrise’s F28. Remove Hachi’s Workout Pack before that fight, if possible have your encounter gauge at 0 or 1, drain it by running away from fights.
Squeaky Hammer is godly on a samurai with high SPD and LUK, it’s level 40 so you need the Level Pass Key tool equipped so you can use it at any level, buy it for 150k GP, wasting the materials to craft it is more expensive… until the endgame where you can craft it no problem and now you have TWO of them, bwahaha! Dual squeaking!
Storyline Achievements
Listed in order of how I unlocked them.
The game is divided into two semesters, first and second, you get to 2nd semester after helping the Space Envoy during the main questline. The main difference is that the level cap during the first half of the game is 15 and the second half is 40, after entering the postgame, the cap is level 99 which one achievement needs you to reach.
Spoilers ahead! Skip this section if you want the predictible mystery kept from you 🙂
First Step
You’ve completed your first mission. Keep up the good work.
Wanted Variant: Eliminated!
You’ve eliminated a Wanted Variant. The battle has just begun.
*You can technically postpone this one until the endgame if you ignore ALL wanted variant side-missions.
New Power
You’ve retrieved the stolen Blood Code. Monks are pugilists who excel in the front row.
No, No…No, No, No…No…
You’ve eliminated Phantom Nono. …Hard to believe she ended up like this.
Goldman’s Final Moments
You’ve stopped Goldman’s threat. All thanks to Alice’s strong determination.
TPF Annihilation
You’ve crushed the TPF’s ambitions and exposed their crimes to the world. Compulsory investigation will commence soon.
Call Me X-Wizar
You’ve defeated the mysterious X-Wizar. His real name is…Akito Saeki!?
The Start of the Second Semester
The second semester starts today. So ends the Xth’s summer vacation.
It Was an Honor…
With Masuaki’s help, you managed to escape. Never forget Masuaki’s noble sacrifice.
Elusive Shadow
You’ve defeated X-Wizar, along with his Code Physics camouflage, Elusive Shadow, again!
Administrative Leave
You’ve defeated Maiden Master and revealed the truth. Looks like Johnny is okay, too.
Scattered Remnants
You’ve encountered and fought remnants of the TPF. They’re operating in secret to avoid exposure.
Fragment of Akashic
You’ve stopped Alice, who awakened her Akashic powers. But the cost of that victory was too high…
The Fall of YHAL
You’ve crushed Patricia and stopped YHAL. You managed to rescue Masa and return safely.
Double Wizars
You’ve defeated the two Wizars, Akito and Alice. You emerged from the greatest fight of your life victorious.
The King of Babyl
You made the King of Babyl, Mu’La, retreat. But the battle has only just begun…
Grind Achievements
Risk Big, Win Big
You’ve survived 20 battles with the Encounter Gauge maxed out. Risk big, win big.
*The battles dont have to be consecutive or in the same area, you dont get the encounter gauge until a bit into the story, max level is 6.
Craft Notes:*You can strip/craft the same starting items from your default squad without losing too many material and get two of these achievements early.
Custom Manufacturing
You’ve crafted items 30 times. Always create the things you need.
Every Little Bit Helps
You’ve boosted items 30 times. This is the secret to making your favorite items last.
*This icon, bruh.
Gambling Problem
You’ve used Gamble Codes 30 times. Good or bad!? Win or lose!? Let’s find out!
*You can farm them from Wanted Variants (they appear even after the mission is complete) using Academics spell that increases battle chances, you can buy NeoChains at the store that have the same effect. 2nd semester only.
Affix Aficionado
You’ve used every Plug-in affix. Knowing your enemy is the key to victory.
*There are 3 levels for each type of affix, do keep track of which you have used so you dont get lost or you can wait until deep into the endgame and just do all types you have and hope for the best. Type 2 Affixes need items level 20-29, type 3 need level 30+.
You will also need one of each Personality Type affix, you can buy them at the shop.
Material Hoarder
You’ve stripped items 30 times. Scrap everything you don’t need.
Rare Collector
You’ve collected many rare items. Is there any other reason for rare items to exist?
*Rare (Unique) items have yellow names instead of white, they cant be affixed, i think you need to collect around 30 of them, counter goes up after identifying one.
Filthy Stinkin’ Rich
You’ve collected 300,000 GP. It may be digital currency, but you’re still loaded!
*This achievement only triggers if you have over 300k GP on yourself after exiting a dungeon.
If you have 200k stored in the GP bank in the development room and only 100k on yourself, go get the money out, go to a dungeon, do a fight or whatever and when you exit out the achievement should unlock.
The Power of Unity
You’ve used every Unity Skill. Your squad is a well-oiled machine.
There are 3 levels for each unity power, you can access them all at Unity level 25.
Keep using Unity powers to increase the max limit, using the Academic’s skill to refill the Unity meter will speed this up as well as having samurais hit a lot of enemys at once (like in Babyl Sphere C1).
Best Friends
You’ve vastly increased your Unity Gauge. Nothing can tear us apart.
*Get to Unity gauge level of 35.
Variant Exterminator
You’ve eliminated 5000 Variants. Your strength is unstoppable.
*You will easily get this before the end of the game, dont worry about it.
Code Chip Discovery!
You’ve obtained 500 Code chips. No chip left behind, no matter how small.
*Ditto
Experienced Xth Member
You’ve survived 1000 battles. You’re becoming a real Xth member.
*Double Ditto
Veteran Xth Member
You’ve survived 3000 battles. You’re an elite Xth member.
*This one might take a while but you’ll get it around the post-game, just grind while looking for gamble codes or MURAMASA.
Maximum Proficiency
You’ve mastered every skill contained in a Blood Code. There is nothing left to teach you.
*Need to learn all skills EXCEPT the Lvl99 one, I got the achievement with my Knight at Level 28.
Other Achievements
Neophile
You’ve used the Monk and Conjurer Blood Codes. It’s hard to resist using new gifts.
Those two blood codes unlock as you progress the story, to get theachievement just create a member with those codes or quickly change you blood code to them so you have them in your roster.
Wanted Variants: Exterminated!
You’ve eliminated all Wanted Variants. One step closer to world peace.
*Dont worry if you miss doing a wanted variant mission during the 1st semester, they will be available somewhere else during the 2nd, still, I did all of the 1st semester ones before 2nd semester, just in case. The achievement will pop once you deliver the final one, in the post-game.
If you’re having trouble finding any of them, check out “The Weak”‘s guides.
Your reward for completing all wanted variant missions is the Blood Pass Code Tool Key that when equipped, lets you ignore blodo code requirements on items so you can equip almost everything.
Charmed By a Bewitching Blade
You’ve obtained the famous bewitching blades, Muramasa and MURAMASA. Every weapon collector should own these.
*The small muramasa is a level 15 weapon but MURAMASA is a level 40 one, you can spend hours grinding for these and hope you get them from chests or get around 30 gamble codes and gamble away, You need both in your possession at the same time.
You can gamble half your gamble codes to get Muramasa, save, then gamble on your squeaky hammer to get MURAMASA and the achievement.
If you care about keeping MURAMASA you can gamble items until you get one high enough (around level 36~38) to get MURAMASA.
Lethal Collector
You’ve collected every Lethal Code. A top-notch Xth Squad is entitled to superior weapons and armor.
Basically, if it requires a Genome to craft or upgrade, its a lethal code.
Save all your Genome materials until the post-game, you can save your game, craft all these, reload and then craft the upgraded versions, they are costly and it will save you some grind if you dont use the genome material until you are ready. The exception, of course, is if you need the genomes to complete the side missions.
Items I saw in shop:
Kudo Muramasa
Athena Avatar
Ares Avatar
Athena Trousers
Ares Trousers
Athena Corsage
Ares Bandana
Rocket punch
Thorough Lethal Collector
You’ve collected every upgraded Lethal Code. A must-have for any intense battle.
*Eventually, during post-game, probably, you will see upgraded versions of the lethal codes above with the -R suffix or II (i.e Ares Avatar II), craft them all and get this achievo, you dont need to have crafted the normal version to get this, just craft the upgraded versions of everything.
Rocketpunch->Rocketman-R
Conduction Introduction
You’ve encountered the mysterious conductor. The rumors were true!
*After doing the 2nd semester mission “Train New Member” on outbound subway and/or finding the new variant who flees from you in Babyl Sphere C3, you can find it again in this subway on X:9,Y2 to give you a secret battle location, after talking to it, you will get this achievement.
Search this dungeon’s west wall at the central car at X9:Y11
Might As Well Jump…
You leapt off the subway. You could’ve seriously injured yourself!
*It is highly advised to get the conductor achievement shown above this one BEFORE figthing the battle that can be found in this secret, its cuz the target of this fight gives you the conductor achievement if you talk to it elsewhere.
Find the secret on Outbound subway, search the west wall(door) of the central car at X9:Y11
You will need a Hack Key Y to enter, after you enter, you get this achievement.
Your formation will be shuffled during the fight, you have a spell that can prevent it once, you’ll need to recast it after it saves you or you can just make sure all your DPS have at least 1 range M or L weapon so they can attack whereever they are.
Waking the Dead
You’ve eliminated Zombie Murphy. He was inside a coffin? Go figure…
*You can try and get this achievement after you have access to the lone tomb at Catacombs-West in the underground Cemetery, everytime you enter the Cemetery, there is a very small chance Murphy will appear in the coffin at X9,Y9 when you inspect it.
I followed Weak’s guide advice and used my Academic’s Return Gate and Call Portal spells to go into the cemetery, portal to the tomb, check it, gate out, repeat. I got it on my 12 or 15th try (lost count).
The event will normally just show you a text about “Our collegue” but when you trigger the fight, instead, your team will notice something strange and a choice wil pop up, choose yes to start the fight, once you win, the achievement is yours.
“The Weak” wrote on his guide: The game appears to keep where you are at in the RNG table when you save the game. Try not to reload your game to an old save while you farm for this event or you could find yourself repeating a whole lot of nothing.
Whoops!
You’ve destroyed a floor in Morimoto High-rise. Be careful when carrying heavy objects.
*For this one you will need to craft a 10-Ton code Key Tool out of 10X1-Ton Codes, you should have some ton codes left over the sewer mission and 5 from buying them from the shop but that wont be enough, once you are in the post-game, “Stop the prince party” mission will give you another 5 tons and the shop will have 10 more allowing you to easily making the 10-ron.
once you have the 10-ton go to Morimoto High-rise 27F X9,Y9 and fall through the floor, once you do that, you’ll get the achievement, in that new floor, you can go and look for Soul Eater and fight him if you want.
