Are you excited to play Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus in English before the release date on October 1st? Look no further! This guide is for YOU. Please keep in mind that if you’re reading this after October 1st, 2024, we kindly ask you to leave. Let’s get started!
Introduction
In that case, why did you even bother opening this guide?
RAINCODE+ English Mod adds the English localization from the Switch release in place of the Simplified Chinese localization present in the PC version. The entire game is playable in English , alongside all side content.
You can download the RAINCODE+ English Mod here.[drive.google.com]
RAINCODE+ English Dub Restoration restores the English dub, which was already partially present in the game files. Once again, the whole game is playable with the English dub, including all side content.

Installation
Thankfully, installing the mod is fairly simple in most cases. The English Patch mod requires Reloaded-II, so the recommended way to install both of these mods is to utilize this program.
The English Dub Restoration mod is possible to install without using it, but… in that case, your whole game would be in Chinese or Japanese. If you’re curious, check the FAQ.
It should be obvious why using Reloaded-II is highly recommended.
You can find the Reloaded-II Mod Loader below:
https://github.com/Reloaded-Project/Reloaded-II/releases
After downloading, run the tool and let it download any missing dependencies. Once you’re in the program, click the Plus sign on the left side and find your RAIN CODE+ installation. You can find its install folder by right clicking the game in your Steam Library and selecting Browse Game Files. Afterwards, find the executable at RainCodePlus/Binaries/Win64/RainCodePlus-Win64-Shipping.exe and copy the filepath into the “Select an application” prompt shown by Reloaded-II.
After you’re done, navigate to “Edit Application” > “Advanced Tools & Options” > and check the “Don’t Inject Loader” box, then press the “Deploy ASI Loader” button. This is required to make the mod work with Steam’s DRM, like on the picture:
Now you’re ready to install the mods you want. To install them, download the mods and simply drag and drop them onto the Reloaded-II window.
Once you’ve installed the mod, select RAIN CODE+ in your Steam Library, right click it and navigate to Properties > Language and change the language to Simplified Chinese. This is the language the English mod replaces.
If you’re using the English Dub Restoration and want to verify that it works right on the menu, go to Options > Volume Settings, where an “Audio Language” option should be visible at the bottom:
FAQ and Credits
Dub restoration – yes, you can copy the files inside UnrealEssentials folder to the Paks folder and it’ll also work.
English patch – no. The mod uses UnrealEssentials to load loose files (I was unable to pack all the files, UE4 messed up the imports).
Firstly, make sure that the mod shows up under the application. If it does, make sure that you deployed the ASI Loader. Lastly, make sure that you are actually using Simplified Chinese. If it still doesn’t work, feel free to leave a comment.
Yes.
I don’t speak those languages myself, so I wouldn’t have been able to add in the few strings that were missing in Switch release (cutscene names in Gallery, PC specific options). Technically it would be doable, but I’ve been messing with the English one since release so I don’t really feel like making one.
Yes, I used this guide myself: https://gamebanana.com/tuts/17166.
You will have to do some steps differently, but it should work. I had to use Proton 8 to get the UI to show up properly, but YMMV.
This isn’t a question, but from our testing we found out that… the game is simply like this. These issues occur equally on Switch. Maybe the official version of RAIN CODE+ will fix them in October? (clueless)
