Welcome to the ultimate guide for building in Leonardo’s Island! In this article, I will walk you through the building system and provide helpful hints. You will also learn the core concept behind building in this game. Let’s dive in and become master builders!
Main rules of placement
- You can place Fences, Beams, Columns, Staves, Rocks, and other items directly on the Terrain.
- Ropes can be connected to the Terrain.
- Planks cannot be connected to the Terrain.
- On big staves, you can place smaller staves, ropes, planks, and other items.
- On smaller staves, you cannot place bigger staves.
Take advantage of shapes
- When placing items, the precision is controlled by the mouse position. If you want to build a square or rectangular structure, it’s better to use square beams:
- If you want to create a complex-shaped structure, it’s easier to work with round beams.:
Mass placement for fences
1. 2 points on terrain – you have a line. Click third time and you see a curve. You can adjust it moving handles or deleting points you don’t need. Once you’re satisfied with the shape, press the X key to lock the curve in place.
2. You can adjust random placement parameters via the popup sliders and place the items, or continue building the curve.
This allows you to create a long curve with varying shapes along its length.
Catamaran
The catamaran has transparent boxes that prevent item placement in certain areas. These spaces are reserved for the character:
Oars allow you to rotate the ship. The more oars you have, the faster the ship will rotate.
Sails have multiple degrees of rotation, allowing them to adjust and catch the wind. However, if you attach an item like a rope or planks to a sail, it will stop rotating. The more sails you have, the faster your ship will move.
Items with Actions (cannon, sail, oar)
After placing an item, if you want to assign a different key for its action, click on the “Actions” button located in the top panel, to the left of the “Save” button:
Stairs hint
Selecting rope as the side material allows the stairs to extend to any length.
Also you may place stairs to other stairs and do something crazy:
