A guide for progressing in Keylocker for anyone who is stuck and unsure where to go or what to do next.
Introduction
- You can save at any time from the menu, and there are multiple save slots. Make sure to save often and in different slots so you can see different outcomes without having to do a full playthrough each time.
- Look around every corner and area of each room, you never know what you might find! Also talk to everyone you see, and look closely in the bottom right corner to see if they have a shop available or if you can give them an item.
- Picking up items will increase the danger meter, which makes the drones show up more often. The rate at which it increases is bigger on a New Game+, but you might not need to pick up everything you see by that point.
- Your party keeps changing throughout the game, so be mindful of that when you have the opportunity to refund keys. It might be better to wait until you’re replaying and know which characters you’re going to have in your party at certain times.
- If you have enough EP, you can charge your attacks in the left and right slots by holding the appropriate button.
- There are 2 boss fights that use “Orbital Resonance”. This means that you cannot damage them unless at least one party member is standing within a certain range of them, where they’ll take damage each turn. There is a third boss fight in one of the ending branches that uses it in a different way and requires you to press a button to use an item you will be given in order to temporarily dispel it, you will have to do this a few times until one of the bosses is defeated.
Prologue Part 1
After choosing a class, you can only go right in the room you end up in. Don’t go too close to the green walls because they will hurt you. As you move, you’ll find a tutorial InfoDisc. These can be found throughout the game and give information on gameplay elements, similar to the red pillars you’ll see in the earlier levels.
If you go down after finding the InfoDisc, there will be a gap in the wall where you can jump across to a platform to pick up some keys. Keep going right and you’ll end up in your first battle. You’ll be told how battles work here.
After the fight, go up the stairs and you’ll end up in another one where you’ll learn more about how battles work. There’s nowhere else to go after this but through the door. This is where the area changes depending on your class.
Prologue Part 2: Hacker
Go up and to the right and some enemies are there now. You’ll end up in a fight with Hackerman helping you (though he says he doesn’t need help) and you can control his attack timings. After this, go through the door and along the path to the next area.
There are some more locked doors in the next area, so just follow the path until you find another conductor, and break that to unlock the doors. One of the locked doors has a chest with a Hardware item behind it, so make sure you don’t miss that. Before you proceed, use the Life Station to heal if you need to, and then you’ll get into a fight with the Cansei. After that, go around and down the stairs towards the next room and there will be a long cutscene.
Prologue Part 2: Samurai
After going down the stairs, you’ll get into a fight where Senpai will help you and you can control her attack timings. She will give you a Hardware item after this, and you can interact with the vending machine to get some Oil Juice.
Go to the next room while trying to avoid the drones. On the right you’ll find Senpai again near a Life Station that you can use to heal yourself. You’ll go past a locked door, so keep going until you find another conductor and break it to unlock the door. Go through the door and you’ll end up in a fight with the Cansei. After this, exit the area and watch the cutscene in the next room.
Prologue Part 2: Juggernaut
You can jump to a platform nearby and pick up some items. Then as you move forward, you’ll end up in a battle with Patricia helping you. You’ll be able to control her attack timings. After the fight, go back down and follow the path. There’s a platform nearby with a Life Station where you can heal if you need to. There’s also a vending machine further down that will give you some Oil Juice.
As you continue, you’ll get into a fight with the Cansei. After this, head towards the exit and watch the cutscene in the next room.
Prologue Part 2: Sequencer
Continue past the other door and pick up any items you need until you find some stairs. To the left of those, there will be a Life Station where you can heal if you need to. Go up the stairs and through the door and to the right to get to the next area.
Go forward and you’ll pass a locked door, but you’ll see another conductor nearby. Break that and the door should be unlocked. Continue and follow the path and there will be a brief cutscene where Nahilys talks to you. Go forward and use the Life Station if you need to, then go through the next door and ahead and you’ll end up in a fight with the Cansei. After that, go to the next area for a longer cutscene.
Prologue Part 3
Chapter 1
Go back and explore the rest of the area now that places are no longer blocked off. You’ll need to go into the inn with the alpacas. Talk to the green alpaca and you’ll find out that you can’t ride an alpaca and you’ll have to get a flying carpet instead. Go back outside and to the left, then go down the second set of stairs you see to get to another area.
There are drones in this area, so be careful. Go forward and to the left and there will be a cutscene that introduces the Chained Prince. There is a building nearby that you can only enter as part of a quest if you are a Sequencer, but near the back of it is a chest and a Life Station so it’s still worth going around there.
Keep going up until you see Detective Alligator, then go to the next area. There will be a small cutscene, and then you can go to the NPC at the top right to buy a carpet. If you don’t have enough money, there’s some quests nearby that you can do to earn some if you don’t want to grind it from battles.
- If you talk to the NPC just below the motorcycles, you’ll be asked to go and talk to the ones blocking the exit on the right. Then go back and talk to the first NPC for some money.
- If you talk to the NPC you see when you first enter, you’ll be asked to get some milkshake from the vending machine. Go and do that and you’ll either end up in a fight right away, or if Bobo is a Hacker, you can hack it, but you’ll still end up in a fight if you fail. After that, go back to talk to the NPC and get some money as a reward.
- If you go into Icey’s Shop, which I would suggest doing anyway to buy items since it becomes unavailable later, you can talk to Icey and she’ll ask you to deliver ice cream to three NPCs, the blue ones. One of them can be found outside, but the other two will be in the previous area. After you’ve spoken to each of them, return to Icey for your reward.
After you’ve bought the carpet, Dealer will leave the party and you’ll be on your own for a while. You can buy items from him, though. Leave the area through the way you entered and you’ll meet Laplace, who will allow you to refund any keys you spent. The place where the Prince was earlier should now be cleared. Follow the maze-like path to get to the next area. The path here is quite straightforward, but not without getting into a fight or two. There’s a vending machine where you can buy a few items towards the end, and some keys that might be easy to miss.
In the next area, you’ll be thrown right into a battle. You’ll end up in another one when you go forward. After that, explore the area to pick up items, and you’ll find the area where you landed after escaping from the prison. You can finally get those keys you saw at the end of the Prologue but didn’t get to pick up! You can also backtrack from here, and Bobo and Dealer’s trailer will now be available to visit. You might find a surprise in the wardrobe.
Anyway, continue past Graveyard of Song and there will be another battle before you finally reach the desert. And then another one shortly after entering the desert. After this, there will be a cutscene where Ruhi appears and tells you that you must find 4 Nahilises to unlock the door at the top and proceed. You’ll have to look around the desert for them, and each one will make you fight them before they join you. Be careful not to run into any cacti, they will hurt you.
After this, you can open the door to the next area, but it’s a good idea to do some exploring around both there and the desert before you progress and finish any quests. When you’re ready, go forward and interact with giant head that’s blocking the way for a cutscene. After this, go forward for another cutscene, and then go to the next area.
In the Temple, there’s only one way you can go to start with, and you’ll walk right into a fight with a Dune Monk. After that, you can continue, but there’s also an area on the left where you can find a chest, but beware of the spikes. Once you go up, go to the left and you’ll end up in another battle, but one of the Nahilises will help you. After this, go to the conductor and break it. You can now go back down and up the stairs that are no longer blocked, and then to the right to get to the next room.
This next room has more spikes. Pick up anything you need and then go straight ahead, and you’ll find a Music Box. Interact with it for a cutscene, and then go back the way you came. In the next room, there will be some spikes again, but it won’t be too long before you end up in another cutscene where Bobo will be captured.
Now you’ll be playing as Dealer. Go to the right after the conversation with Carlotta, and into a new area. There will be another cutscene, and then you’ll have to look around the area and find the door with the two nurses outside, it’s on the left side. If Bobo is a Hacker, you can also go inside one of the buildings near the middle of the area and find some extra items.
Talk to the nurses and choose “Defy gravity”. There will be a short scene in an elevator, but you can’t really do much there. After this, you’ll be outside the factory. I would recommend saving here (the Save Dinosaur is even there to remind you) for reasons we’ll get to soon.
The path here is straightforward, so just continue on and use the vending machine if you have to, and soon there will be a cutscene where Rocket joins you, and you’ll be able to choose his class. After this, climb down the ladder to get some keys, then go back up and continue along the path and go through the door.
In the factory, go forward and you’ll have to hack a bot to get it out of your way. Keep going and there will be a short cutscene where you see what happened to Bobo. Go forward again until you reach the next room, and get into a battle. Go forward and to the left and you’ll end up in another fight. Go up the ladder and to the right and up another ladder and interact with the robot for yet another battle.
After that, there will be another short cutscene, and then you should go back the way you came and go up the ladder you went past earlier and follow the path from there. Pick up any items around the area, and then go up the ladder to the next room.
In this room, you can either go to the right and teleport through a tube to find some items and another battle, or to the left and get into a fight before going up the stairs, where you can climb the ladder and jump down to find a vending machine, but watch out for the drone. You can either jump down from from this platform on the right, or go back down the ladder and through the tube. Pick up any items you need and use the Life Station to heal. Then go forward and there will be a cutscene and a boss battle.
After this, there will be quite a long cutscene, where Bobo will be rescued, but it turns out the missing drummer is dead. Once the cutscene’s over, you’ll be in an area where you can only walk around and talk to people. To start the concert, talk to the Save Dinosaur. Then you’ll play your first song. It should be quite straightforward which buttons you’ll need to press, but as the Save Dinosaur tells you, if you’re having trouble, you can pause the song and adjust the settings.
There’s another cutscene after this where everyone will have to leave the Scrapyard Zone because it’s going to be destroyed, and another elevator ride, and then Chapter 1 is complete.
Chapter 2
Here you can find Dealer and a vending machine, as well as a Life Station nearby. Buy whatever you need and then you’ll walk right into a battle. There’s another battle in the bottom right area of the room, but you don’t really need to go there, just go on ahead to the next room.
This room is a bit of a maze. There will be a cutscene once you enter. Go up and to the right, and try not to get hit by the pink spikes. Then go down the stairs and to the left until you find the exit. Or, if you want to avoid less spikes but have more of a chance of getting into battles, go over the first bridge you see, and then past the spikes below and then towards the exit.
In this room, you’ll end up in another battle. Take the exit below and continue until you find a small ladder, and climb down it. It’s time for another fight. Then go down another small ladder for yet another fight. Go to the fight and up the longer ladder and pull the switch to make the gates blocking your way go down. Go and open the chest, and then go back down the ladder and right to the next room.
In here, you’ll get into a battle as soon as you go down the ladder and move forward. After this, go forward and up the next ladder, and talk to Panda before going left and jumping across to the platform and pulling the switch. Of course, as you go back, you’ll get into a battle (again), but Panda will come and help you. Jump back over and go up the stairs to the right and you’ll be back in one of the rooms from before, but more places should be available to visit now.
Pick up any items you need and head towards the building in the middle. Use the Life Station if you need to, and also save the game (the Save Dinosaur is even here to remind you). Then go inside the building and there will be a boss fight against Tethys and Mimas. I would recommend trying to kill Tethys first, because Mimas is important for certain achievements.
After the boss, you’ll be playing as Dealer for this next bit. Go around and interact with every NPC you can find in the two rooms. You’ll have to do a lot of jumping, and will also get into a few fights. The first room has a computer that you can teleport through to reach Patricia. There’s one unreachable NPC, but they don’t matter. In the next room, there’s another computer you’ll need to teleport through to get to Ruhi, but you’ll have to turn on a switch and fight an enemy first. When you’ve found everyone, go to the next room.
The perspective will change back to Bobo here. Go forward and look around for any items. Depending on where you entered from, you’ll also encounter R.I.V.A.L, who will fight you when interacted with. Go up and talk to Dealer for a cutscene. Then go and talk to the Save Dinosaur and play another song.
After the cutscene, you’ll be able to talk to interact with several people on the train. Keep going and there will be another cutscene with Ruhi where it turns out that Rocket can open the Music Boxes with a minigame. These minigames get harder as the game goes on, but there are checkpoints, and if you fail three times, you can skip them altogether. After the next cutscene, keep going right and you’ll find some more NPCs. There’s also a smaller version of Icey’s shop where you can get some items. Then go right again until you leave the area. That’s the end of Chapter 2.
Here is where things get complicated. After the cutscene and the battle that happens after it, you’ll be able to choose secondary classes for Bobo and Dealer. Bobo’s class will affect your path through the first half of Chapter 3, and also some quest lines and romance options. So here’s how to progress for each of them.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Jester
Go to the left and pull the switch, then to the right and up the ladder, then jump to the right and interact with the red pillar. There will be a bit of a minigame here where you’ll have to go through the stars while making sure the danger meter isn’t filled up too much. After that, you can reach the Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, go back to the Gamma Route and enter the Chapel. Interact with the guard blocking the way on the left, then go down the stairs and follow the path until you reach an area where there will be a battle. On most routes, nothing will happen after this, but if you’re a Jester, there will be a cutscene where Dealer gets the idea to take over the Chapel’s broadcast. He’ll show up and take Rocket’s place in the party, and then you’ll need to talk to one of the Jester NPCs blocking the way forward to start a fight.
After that, Dealer will leave you and you must go forward and talk to the NPC up there. Then there will be a long cutscene. After this, go back down and there will be a battle, and Nahilys and Hackerman will join you for it, and you can control their attacks. Then go down and talk to Rocket, and there will be another battle with him and Dealer in the party. Then there will be a brief cutscene where Dealer leaves again and you’re free to explore.
Leave the Chapel and head back to the Apartment Complex, then go around and enter the apartment building on the right and go up the floors. I don’t think you have to fight the Daimyo enemy on one of the floors to proceed but you can if you want to. And then as you go across the roof, interact with the large Daimyo NPC at the back and choose “Get sliced”.
After that, continue to the right and go down the floors and exit to the New Routes Expansion. Keep going right until you find an exit, although you will end up in a battle on the way. In the next area, jump across the green roofs and go down until you find a ladder, then climb down it and head towards the exit. Go left and then jump to the nearby platform and go down the ladder. Jump across to the next platform, but beware of the spikes and the drones. At the end of this platform should be a Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, head back up. The NPC on one of the platforms can clear the danger meter for you if you choose the top option. There’s another another platform with a chest on it. Go towards the building with the blue door and attempt to enter. You’ll end up in a battle here. Then you’ll be taken inside the building and will have to fight again to go further.
Now you can explore the area. To progress, climb up the ladder on the right, and jump across to the middle area, then interact with the NPC for another fight. Now jump back across and the area on the right should no longer be blocked. Interact with Simon and he’ll suddenly disappear. Then leave the area.
Back outside, the blocks on the left should be gone, so you can go to the next area. There will be some more blocks in the way, so go past the spikes and down the ladder, then down another ladder, and pull the switch. This should make the blocks go away and you can keep going left and towards the exit.
From the Delta area, go past Icey and jump to the platform, then follow it, go down, and then go down the ladder and continue along the path to get to the Alpha Route. Keep going left, and then jump to the platform where there are people walking around and go up and jump to another platform where you’ll see a conductor. Break it and then go back down and across the bridge. You’ll get into a fight here. Continue after this and the Music Box should be in sight.
After opening the Music Box, return to the Delta area and the Save Dinosaur should be near where Icey is. Explore the city to pick up any items and finish any quests, and then come back and interact with the Save Dinosaur to start a concert.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Daimyo
Go to the left and pull the switch, then to the right and up the ladder, then jump to the right and interact with the red pillar. There will be a bit of a minigame here where you’ll have to go through the stars while making sure the danger meter isn’t filled up too much. After that, you can reach the Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, go to the right and you can enter the apartment and go up the floors (it might be a good idea to talk to Senpai on the ground floor). I don’t think you have to fight the Daimyo enemy on one of the floors to proceed but you can if you want to. And then as you go across the roof, there will be a cutscene where it turns out that the Shogun that Senpai was talking about has been killed. Now you’ll have to fight the new Shogun and some other enemies, with Senpai helping you.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Cyberwalker
There will be a short scene with the figure again. Go right again and then jump to the nearby platform and go down the ladder. Jump across to the next platform, but beware of the spikes and the drones. At the end of this platform should be a Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, head back up. The NPC on one of the platforms can clear the danger meter for you if you choose the top option. There’s another another platform with a chest on it. Go back the way you came and there will be a cutscene with the strange figure, who turns out to be Nahilys. Then go towards the building with the blue door and attempt to enter. You’ll end up in a battle here. Then you’ll be taken inside the building and will have to fight again to go further.
Now you can explore the area. To progress, climb up the ladder on the right, and jump across to the middle area. I would recommend making a save here. Then interact with the NPC for another fight. There will then be a cutscene where Rocket will end up having to leave you. Now jump back across and the area on the right should no longer be blocked. Interact with Simon for a cutscene. Here is where things will branch depending on if you choose to trust Nahilys or Simon.
If you trust Nahilys, Dealer will show up, and you’ll be controlling him and Simon for the ensuing battle. After this, Bobo will end up at the robot workshop, and Rocket is there too and must take part in a tournament. After this, go up the stairs to the left, then pull the switch and you’ll get into another fight. After that, go right and pull the switch to get to the spinning diamond thing and you’ll be teleported to an outside area.
After a cutscene, go through the spinning diamond thing again and pull the switch nearby. Then go left and down the ladder and back into the workshop, and go through the spinning diamond thing again, and then climb up the ladder and jump across the buildings to get back to the Delta area.
From there, the path to the Gamma Route should be available, but first we will go to the Alpha Route. To do that, jump down from the platform with the smiley face sign and onto the area with a load of people walking around. Then go down and along the path to the right, then down again, and climb down the ladder and go left.
Keep going left, and then jump to the platform where there are people walking around and go up and jump to another platform where you’ll see a conductor. Break it and then go back down and across the bridge. You’ll get into a fight here. Continue after this and the Music Box should be in sight.
After opening the Music Box, go back the way you came to the Delta area and go to the Gamma Route. Go up and to the left to get to the Residential Complex. Go to the left and pull the switch, then to the right and up the ladder, then jump to the right and interact with the red pillar. There will be a bit of a minigame here where you’ll have to go through the stars while making sure the danger meter isn’t filled up too much. After that, you can reach the Music Box.
If you trust Simon, there will be a fight against Nahilys and Hackerman, and you’ll get to control Simon’s attacks as well. After this, leave the area and Rocket will come back. The blocks on the right should be gone, so you can go to the next area. Climb up the ladder and jump across the roofs and keep going right until you reach the next area.
After entering this area, there will be a battle. After that, keep going ahead and go along the path and into the apartment building. Go up the floors until you reach the roof, then interact with the large Daimyo NPC at the back and choose “Get sliced”. Go to the left and go down the floors until you’re outside in the Apartment Complex.
Go to the right and then go up the ladder, then jump to the right and interact with the red pillar. There will be a bit of a minigame here where you’ll have to go through the stars while making sure the danger meter isn’t filled up too much. After that, you can reach the Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, go to the left and then down and to the right again to get to the Gamma Route. Then go right and down to get back to the Delta area, and the path to the Alpha Route should be unlocked.
Keep going left, and then jump to the platform where there are people walking around and go up and jump to another platform where you’ll see a conductor. Break it and then go back down and across the bridge. You’ll get into a fight here. Continue after this and the Music Box should be in sight.
After all 3 Music Boxes have been opened, return to the Delta area and the Save Dinosaur should be near where Icey is. Explore the city to pick up any items and finish any quests, and then come back and interact with the Save Dinosaur to start a concert.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Terminator
Keep going left, and then jump to the platform where there are people walking around and go up and jump to another platform where you’ll see a conductor. Break it and then go back down and across the bridge. You’ll get into a fight here. Continue after this and the Music Box should be in sight.
After this, go to the left and down and jump across the platforms, but beware of the pink spikes. Head towards the gym and interact with the NPC at the and agree to show her your muscles. This will start a new quest and you can go inside the gym.
Now, this quest can be done on any route, but is mandatory to progress if you’re a Terminator or Metalhead. Continue through the gym until you get into a fight, and then go up and you’ll get into another fight with Carla. After this, go up to where she is and talk to her. Then leave.
Once you’re back outside, Rocket will be kidnapped, and Dealer will join you for the time being. Some blocks on the bottom right should disappear, so you can go down that way to get to the Beta Route. Then go left and towards the cannon and interact with it. Move forward and there will be a cutscene. Climb up the ladder and interact with the two robots. Regardless of what you choose, you then need to go back down the ladder and through the spinning diamond thing, then pull the switch. The ladder on the right should now be unblocked, so go down it and into the workshop.
Here, there will be a series of battles with Rocket fighting against other robots. He’ll rejoin you after this. You can either leave the way you came in, or you can go up the stairs to the left, then pull the switch and you’ll get into another fight. After that, go right and pull the switch to get to the spinning diamond thing and you’ll be teleported back outside. Climb up the ladder and jump across the buildings to get back to the Delta area. The path leading to the Omega Route should now be unblocked.
You’ll see a strange figure that you’ll have to follow once you enter there. There’s a vending machine nearby as well. Continue until you reach the blocks, then go past where the spikes are and down the ladder. There’s a Life Station you can activate here. Go down the next ladder and pull the switch. Go back up and the blocks should now be gone. Keep going right and into the next area.
There will be a short scene with the figure again. Go right again and then jump to the nearby platform and go down the ladder. Jump across to the next platform, but beware of the spikes and the drones. At the end of this platform should be a Music Box.
After opening the Music Box and the cutscene that follows, head back up.
The path on the right should be unblocked, so go that way and climb up the ladder and jump across the roofs and keep going right until you reach the next area.
When you enter this area, there will be a battle. After that, keep going up and go along the path and into the apartment. Go up the floors until you reach the roof, the interact with the large Daimyo NPC at the back and choose “Get sliced”.
Then return to the Delta area from there and the Save Dinosaur should be near where Icey is. Explore the city to pick up any items and finish any quests, and then come back and interact with the Save Dinosaur to start a concert.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Attorney
There will be a short scene with the figure again. Go right again and then jump to the nearby platform and go down the ladder. Jump across to the next platform, but beware of the spikes and the drones. At the end of this platform should be a Music Box.
After opening the Music Box and the cutscene that follows, head back up.
Back outside, the blocks on the right should be gone, so you can go to the next area. Climb up the ladder and jump across the roofs until you reach the area with a load of people walking around. Go forward and there will be a cutscene with Carlotta where she plans to rob the bank, and you’ll have a new quest.
Now, this quest can be done on any route, but it’s mandatory to progress if you’re an Attorney. Go up and talk to the bird by the ladder. Agree to pay and then go up, and then to the left and do a really long jump. You’ll then enter the bank. There will be a battle as soon as you move forward and interact with the enemies. After this, you’ll get a message from Carlotta.
Continue on and head towards the entrance, and then interact with one of the guards. After another message and a cutscene, go up the stairs and towards the vault, then interact with the guard for a fight, where one of the birds will eventually join you. After another cutscene, go back down and to the left, and interact with the bird at the third computer along. As you head back, there might be another battle. After this, talk to Carlotta to complete the quest, and then go back outside.
Go back to the green roofs and then down and to the left. Then go up the ladder and continue to the next area and use the cannon to go back down to a place you went past before. Go left to get back to the Delta area. Then go up and to the right and the Gamma Route should no longer be blocked.
After opening the Music Box, go to the right and you can enter the apartment and go up the floors, and then across the roof and back into the building and down the floors again (you might have to talk to the large Daimyo on the roof and choose “Get sliced” to unblock the way). This should take you to the New Routes Expansion. Explore the area and pick up anything you need to, and then you can either go back the way you came, or go towards the exit on the right but you’ll get into a fight. After that, if you continue, you’ll be in the area with the bank, and you can go to the left and use the cannon again, then keep going right to get back to the Delta area.
Chapter 3 Part 1: Metalhead
Keep going left, and then jump to the platform where there are people walking around and go up and jump to another platform where you’ll see a conductor. Break it and then go back down and across the bridge. You’ll get into a fight here. Continue after this and the Music Box should be in sight.
After this, go to the left and down and jump across the platforms, but beware of the pink spikes. Head towards the gym and interact with the NPC for a fight. After that, go inside the gym.
Now, this quest can be done on any route, but is mandatory to progress if you’re a Metalhead or Terminator.
The path leading to the Gamma Route should now be unblocked. Go there, then go to the right and you’ll find a Life Station that you’ll need to activate if you want to use it. Continue up and go left until you reach the Residential Complex.
Go to the left and pull the switch, then to the right and up the ladder, then jump to the right and interact with the red pillar. There will be a bit of a minigame here where you’ll have to go through the stars while making sure the danger meter isn’t filled up too much. After that, you can reach the Music Box.
After opening the Music Box, go to the right and you can enter the apartment and go up the floors I don’t think you have to fight the Daimyo enemy on one of the floors to proceed but you can if you want to.
Keep going left to return to the Delta area and the Save Dinosaur should be near where Icey is. Explore the city to pick up any items and finish any quests, and then come back and interact with the Save Dinosaur to start a concert.
Chapter 3 Part 2
After the fight, go inside the Palace and talk to the IC-Bot to get a ticket. Then go to the stairs on the right and talk to the Daimyo that’s blocking the way and they’ll move. Go up the stairs and there will be a cutscene with the Jester Girls where they’ll ask for something; the answer is Milkshake.
Go up and through the door and you’ll be in an elevator. Choose “Second Floor”.
As you go up into the next room, there will be a short cutscene, followed by another as you move forward towards someone called Felix. Go up the stairs for yet another short cutscene, and go all the way to the right, up, and then all the way to the left and you’ll get into a fight. After this, there will be another cutscene, and then you must go up towards where Telesto is and you’ll get into a fight with her. She’ll leave after you’ve done enough damage. Then go through the door on the left and choose “Third Floor” in the elevator.
On this floor, you’ll be able to refund your keys with Laplace again. Go and talk to Ruhi, and then interact with all of the cages in the room, then talk to her again. The cages will disappear, and you’ll get into a fight. It’s also a good idea to talk to Lilibug at the bottom right of the room. Then go back the way you came and choose “Fourth Floor”.
Move forward and there will be another cutscene. Then interact with all of the hanging girls and fight all the battles until you’re told a code. Then go back the way you came. There will be another cutscene here. Go through the door and choose “Fifth Floor”.
Go forward and talk to Lilibug, and then continue and you’ll get into a fight. After that, the door on the left will open. There’s also a chest in this room that has a headgear item based on the class you chose at the start of the chapter. Activate and use the Life Station if you need to, then go into the next room.
There will be another battle as soon as you enter. Then go up and to the right and up the stairs and interact with the NPC near Dealer to start another fight. Then interact with Dealer for a cutscene where Hackerman will come and take him to safety. Go back and there will be another cutscene where you meet Janus, the other boss of this chapter, who will present you with two doors. It doesn’t matter which one you choose, it won’t affect the ending.
Go up the stairs on the left and talk to the two enemies for another right. Then continue down the next set of stairs until you see a Music Box and there will be a short cutscene. Go to the Music Box and open it. After that, leave the lab and go to the left and the other doors should be unlocked. Go through them and you’ll get into another fight. I’d make sure to save the game and do whatever you need to do before you continue up the stairs to the next room.
Keep going up the stairs and eventually you’ll get to a lengthy cutscene with Janus and then Epimetheus. After this, you’ll be forced to do another song, but with a twist, because extra buttons are involved. After that, move forward and interact with Epimetheus for another cutscene and a boss battle.
There will be another cutscene after this (turns out Epimetheus wasn’t killed in that battle), and a brief moment where you control Rocket, and then another cutscene. There’s a small segment where you play as Dealer, but all you can really do is go around and talk to some of the NPCs there, and then talk to Ivy to progress.
Interlude
Chapter 4
In the next area, talk to the pumpkin NPC and you’ll be given some juice to shrink that will be used later. Be careful if you want to interact with the tombstones, 2 of them are actually enemies (if you’ve played Virgo Versus the Zodiac, you’ll recognise these). Go up and to the left, and carefully navigate your way through the vines. Eventually, you’ll find Yu.
There will be a cutscene here where someone called Midnight shows up and brings up a way to transfer’s Yu’s consciousness. After that, go up through a gap and you’ll find a bigger area to explore. You can also talk to Simon on the right if you want.
Keep going up and to the right and you’ll get into a fight with a vulture and one of those annoying scorpion enemies. Keep going up and right until you run into one of those mushroom NPCs, who will ask you to fetch an eggshell. Go left and climb up the vines to go and get it, then go back the way you came.
After a small cutscene, you’ll end up in a fight against some other enemies that are familiar if you played Virgo. Then Laplace will appear and Bobo will go off with him, leaving you to play as Rocket. Follow her to the next area.
Go up and to the right and you’ll get into a battle. “Bobo” will turn out to be another enemy you might have seen before. Keep going right and then down for another fight against viruses. Go down further for another cutscene. Then go down again. On the right there’s a vulture that you can buy items from. Go to the left and up the steps and there will be another sad cutscene.
Go back down the steps and through a gap in the trees, and talk to the NPC on the right. After a brief cutscene, you will now be able to choose a secondary class for Rocket. Go back up and to the right and you’ll get into a battle. Then keep going right and down and you’ll see Bobo surrounded by enemies. There will be another battle here, but if you don’t defeat all the enemies after a while, it will end anyway.
Rocket will stop working after this and you’ll be playing as Bobo again. Try talking to Rocket and then go right to the next area. Talk to Rocket again as you make your way forward, and then go right for a brief cutscene. I would recommend saving the game here. Then go up and up the stairs towards the gazebo, and there will be a cutscene where you can choose someone to have a conversation with depending on your past interactions with them and your class. This will affect certain scenes and endings later.
After this, go back the way you came and then go down and you’ll get into a fight. Then keep following the path around the lake until you see Pumpkin Boy again. Talk to him and it will start raining. Go back the way you came and you’ll get into some more fights. Talk to Rocket and he’ll rejoin you. Now go back down and do another fight, and a way that was previously blocked by vines should be open.
Now there will be a cutscene where you shrink, but this doesn’t really change much. Go through the broken tree in front of you and you’ll get into a battle. Go down further on the left for another one. Go to the right and there will be a cutscene where those children you’ve been seeing throughout the chapter get thrown all over the area and you have to find them.
Go up and past Ruhi and through the trees to find one of them. Then go back down and to the left and up the way you came for another. Go down and left again for another. Then go down and around the vines and jump over the gap, and go left and interact with the enemy to start a fight. After that, go to the left and up and you’ll find another one of the kids. Go back the way you came and to the bottom right to find the last one, and then go and talk to the Alpaca (I’m not actually sure if this is required to progress, but you’ll usually trigger the quest as you explore so you might as well finish it).
Go back towards where you fought those ear enemies and exit the area. There will be a cutscene where Laplace makes you bigger and tells you to run after someone called Saci. Keep going left and up and talk to the NPC, who is Saci. You’ll have to chase him and press the interact button when you’re near enough to get the key. Now go to the right and go up, and you’ll be back in an area from earlier. In this next cutscene, Laplace will make you your normal size again.
Go up and right, then go up the steps and keep going up and left until you exit the area. Now you’ll be back in another area from before, but there will be drones if your danger level is high enough. Keep going left and climb up the vines, and go towards the Stray Kids for a cutscene. Then go inside the Greenhouse. Near the top right there will be a chest with a headgear item based on the class you chose for Rocket. Go down and talk to Lilibug for another cutscene.
Leave the Greenhouse and climb back down, then go left and up and you’ll get into a fight with more of those invisible enemies. Then go up to the next area. Go up until you reach the large tree and talk to Lilibug. There will be a long cutscene, followed by a boss battle with Sargon, who you encountered back in Chapter 1, then another cutscene where Rocket is taken away. After this, go back down and go to the left past the second set of stairs and take the exit on the left.
Chapter 5
As you go in, there will be another cutscene. Then go to the right and up the steps, and then left to get into a fight. Then carefully go past the green stuff on the ground and up the stairs to the next room. Keep going forward for another battle. There’s a Life Station nearby that you can use if you need to. Go up the stairs and talk to the NPC on the left. Then go up and you’ll get into a fight, and then another as you move forward. Keep going and go towards the long key and take it. Then go back the way you came all the way to the main hall. You’ll end up in another fight here.
Go to the stairs at the end of the path and the NPC next to them will tell you to find some music notes. Go up the stairs to the next area. Go to the left, down the steps, then right and jump across the platforms for another battle. Then pull the switch and some of the ways should be cleared. If you go to the left, you can hack the device nearby and access the chest that’s on a platform you can’t jump to. Make your way up towards the stairs to the next area.
Go forward and down to the left, then go right and pick up the keys. There will then be a cutscene and another fight with Telesto. After she leaves, a music note will appear nearby. Pick it up and then go back the way you came and go left until you get into a battle. Then keep going up and right to get into the next room.
Go across the room and drop the music note in one of the bowls on the platforms, then keep going right and you’ll be back an earlier area. If you spared Mimas, he will be there when you enter, so talk to him, it will be important later. Go towards the steps and the next music note should be there. After getting that, go back to the previous room and drop it in the other bowl. Then go to the middle of the room and there will be a cutscene with the Pope. You’ll be fighting him shortly.
Save the game and go down to the right and into the next room. Keep moving and there will be a cutscene, followed by a boss fight with lots of enemies in it. After this, go to the edge at the bottom and jump, and you’ll be in the main hall again. Go forward and interact with one of the Clericopters to get past them, and jump across and talk to the Save Dinosaur to start a concert.
Chapter 6
Go back to the main room and then go down the stairs that are right in front of you. Explore the room until you find Kassandra, and talk to her. Then leave the area and go up the stairs near the Pioneer. There will be a cutscene and a fight where Panda helps you. Then go back the way you came and go up the stairs on the right.
Go to the right and jump across, and then fix the computer. Then there will be another battle. Then go back the way you came and the Pioneer should be gone, revealing a ladder. Climb up it and climb up the other ladder, then jump up, go to the right, and jump across the platforms and talk to the Prince. Then Bobo will leave with him. Go back the way you came and then go down and to the left, then up the stairs to the next room.
Rocket will join you after the cutscene at the start of this room. Go up and to the left and pull the switch. Then go back down and the door blocking the way to the ladder should be gone, so go up there and pull that switch. Then go back up and jump across, and talk to the figure in blue, who you may or may not recognise from earlier in the game.
After this, you’ll be back in the main area. Go up the stairs next to the computer again, and straight on ahead and up the stairs at the end of that room. Continue and there will be a battle. And then another one. Go up and jump and talk to the NPC to the right of you. No, the repeated sentence isn’t a bug. There will be another fight here. After the cutscene, leave the area and go down the stairs at the bottom of the room.
Follow the path and climb up the ladder and there will be another cutscene and a fight. Go up and talk to the enemy at the end for another fight. Then there will be a cutscene involving Ivy after this. Go back the way you came, while opening the now-available chest along the way.
Go up the stairs on your left, and follow the path in the next room and pull the switch. Then leave and you’ll be in another battle. After that, go up the stairs next to the ones you just used and interact with the machine in front of you. There will be a short hacking game again, and then one of those hacking games that’s used for the Music Boxes. After that, there will be a cutscene where Rocket and Dealer get sent somewhere.
Go down and pull the switch, then go back up and down the ladder on the left to where Dealer is. Then go back the way you came and to the futuristic-looking computer on the left and interact with it. Explore the area and pick up any items before going to interact with the characters that you just saw. Choose to slap them, and it will lead to a boss battle.
After the cutscene, move forward for another short cutscene where Rocket leaves. Then go forward and keep going up the stairs. When you reach the next room, I would recommend saving the game because an important choice is coming up.
Go forward and you’ll find Bobo being used by Atlas, and there will be quite a long cutscene. Part of the way through, there will be a dialogue option. Choosing “I want to leave Saturn” will lead to the Dissonance ending, while “I want to live in the Eternal Dome, to be accepted by them” will lead to the Resonance ending. After the rest of the cutscene, that’ll be the end of the chapter.
Chapter 7
Go to the next room for another cutscene where some of your allies have been imprisoned. If you spared Mimas and spoke to him earlier, he’ll be able to free them for you. You’ll then be introduced to Pandora. After this, if you move far enough in either direction, you’ll get into a fight. If you go up all the stairs, you can find Telesto, but she won’t fight you this time. Take the path on the right that isn’t locked.
As you go into this room, there will be another battle. After that, make your way towards where Ruhi is and talk to her. The conversation will be slightly different depending on what path you’re on. If you’re on the Dissonance path, she’ll give you DNA that will be used later on. Go back the way you came and you’ll get into a fight with the Shedu. Then leave the room and talk to Mimas if he’s there. Go to the left and take the first path you see.
In the next room, jump down, and then climb down, then jump over to the left and keep moving, and you’ll get into a fight. After this, you’ll be able to buy from the IC-Bot if you’re running low on items. Then go back the way you came. I don’t know if there’s still a fight depending on if you solved the riddle or not (you might have to solve it to progress). Leave the area and there might be a cutscene depending on the route you’re on.
Go to the right and through the unlocked doors. Then go to the left and jump, and go down the ladder and go right and you’ll get into a battle again (I don’t know if it’s supposed to happen on every route or if there’s a bug and it’s only meant to happen if Bobo is a Daimyo). After that, continue along the path, and I would suggest saving when you get near the snowman. As you move forward, the Save Dinosaur will give you a choice of one of the characters you have romanced enough, which will affect 2 of the endings.
Keep going around until you reach the conductor. After breaking it, there should be some more items to pick up. Go back the way you came and there might be another cutscene, again depending on the route you’re on. Go through the doorway that is now open and interact with the Music Box. There will be another one of those games, and another cutscene, followed by taking the music note.
Keep going back the way you came and you’ll get into another fight. Then keep going back until you reach the exit (depending on the route, there might be a cutscene with Felix). After leaving, go to the left again and follow the upper path, and there will be another cutscene that’s different depending on the route. If you’re headed towards the Resonance ending, Dealer will leave the party.
In the next room, I’d recommend going to the left and picking up the items, then going to the right and taking the path around to get to the shop being run by an alpaca so you can buy some things before going back the way you came and forward at the middle, where you’ll end up in a battle. Jump onto the area where the people are moving around and then go forward and jump off, then go right and you’ll get into another fight. After this, if you’re headed towards the Dissonance ending, I would recommend using your keys and stat-raising items on Rocket and Dealer as much as you want before you continue.
Go right and talk to Panda to start a concert. After this, there will be a bit of a lengthy cutscene. Turns out you’ve been played all along (although if you paid attention to the hints, you might have worked it out sooner). Go back the way you came and go to the right near where the mushroom NPC is, and jump. If you’re headed for the Resonance ending, you should save the game here before continuing. Go up the stairs and if you’re on the Resonance route, there will be a cutscene with Ruhi, and you’ll be given a choice. “Assimilate Dealer” will lead to Resonance A, while “Break the World’s Clock” will lead to Resonance B.
Go inside the building and past where Pandora is playing the piano and up the stairs into the next room. Go through the door on the right and you’ll be in a room full of lore. You don’t actually have to read all the screens to progress, just the very last one at the end of the path that unlocks a shortcut back to the start, but if you want to know the lore about the game’s world then here is the place to find out.
Go back to the main hall and go up the stairs on the left. If you go up the stairs right of here, and through the door on the left, you’ll be able to access the place that lets you refund keys, which I would suggest doing if you’re on the Resonance route. Then go up the stairs on the left and through the door. I would also suggest saving here if you’re on the Dissonance route. Talk to Pandora. If you are headed towards the Dissonance ending, she’ll ask who you would rather take with you if you could only take one. Choosing Rocket leads to Dissonance A, while choosing Dealer will lead to Dissonance B. You can also jump on the bed if you really want to.
Leave the room and go up the stairs on the right that are now available, and save before you proceed to the next room. What happens here will be different depending on the ending. If you get Resonance B, there will be an extra boss fight where you will be accompanied by the character you have romanced or interacted with the most. If you get Dissonance B, there will be an extra scene at the end involving the character you have romanced.
