This gaming guide is all about the Terminid Support Build for HELLDIVERS™ 2. This load-out is designed to help you reach the max level while providing support and a versatile role in your squad. It’s a strong and enjoyable setup that can add variety to your games and still be effective.
OVERVIEW
ARMOR
Let’s start with armor, you can get away with pretty much anything in-case you tend to get slashed more, want to have a chance to survive fatal hits, or want that extra stealth and radar improvement.
Any of these are viable but to be the most effective its recommended you run a chest with the Engineering Kit .
Why ? You’l primarily be running an LMG and the ability to carry extra grenades will help with strong pushes on bug nest and redundancy if any of your Stratagems aren’t available.
PRIMARY
Just like armor there isn’t a necessity to run a certain weapon. I would recommend a weapon that that provides quick burst damage to help make a quick exit when surrounded or take out any surprise attacks from Stalkers or those pesky jumpers. Overall you wont be needing it much outside of having to reload an up coming Stratagem when caught off guard. The best advice here would be learning which enemies armor can/can’t be penetrated and knowing that their body parts do not share a health pool. If you can’t damage the head focus on the next largest body part and focus it down.
My personal recommendation would be the MP-98 Knight
This SMG can still be used when carrying SSSDs, Ballistic Shield, etc, allowing you to avoid being a vulnerable target. It’s can kill practically instantly kill outside of Chargers and Titans. Aim for heads to save ammo and guarantee a quick kill. The only downside is that it’s pay-walled behind the more expensive version of the game, luckily there is plenty of alternatives.
Another great pick would be the Slugger, especially of you’re struggling with light armored targets. The slugger has a flexible reload letting you load shells individually, and takes from one ammo pool instead of magazines. Like the Knight, aim for heads for a quick 1-2 shot kill for those armored targets.
Finally we have the SG-225 Breaker, an automatic, magazine fed, shotgun. This would be more optimal for smaller unarmored bugs but still has the ability to pin and take out light armored targets, again it’s about knowing where to shoot them.
SECONDARY
The only real choice at the moment would be P-19 Redeemer. Like the Knight, provides a quick single kill of any target or of a few if dealing with Scavengers and their spitter friends. This won’t do much against any kind of armor and with some skill could potentially deal with them if you get your aim down.
GRENADE
Just like the weapons mentioned previously, the G-16 Impact will provide excellent burst damage, especially to groups. Try to use them against scouting parties as a single grenade can clear them at best, and at minimum only leaving a few bugs or a Charger on higher difficulties. It’s ability to explode on contact with any surface let’s it excel as a reactionary panic button, quickly open shipping containers while on the run, and getting rid of any light armored targets you’re having trouble getting in the weak-spots. If ever needed it can also kill a Charger although at a cost of 4 grenades and aimed to impact the ground near or directly to it’s rear. The only real downside is the initial skill to get them into bug holes and knowing it’s and lethal range to you, with some skill you can even have it rag-doll you away in case what you just blew up had some friends. Aim for the center of groups and remember if you brought Engineering Kit you can use them less sparingly, even more so with another coming Stratagem.
M-105 STALWART
EAT-17 EXPENDABLE ANTI-TANK
The name does not lie, this Stratagem will EAT any and all armored targets. With a fast cool down and drop, it can provide quick reactionary firepower topped off with a low projectile drop and the ability to take down tactical assets like bug holes, illegal broadcast, and spore shroom. The best part is, it comes with two launchers and if timed properly can kill if not severely hurt a target giving you at it’s most efficient 3 Charge kills or 1 Titan (potential platform bug that may cause Titan to take twice as much). Aim for the head followed by the unarmored body, to trying to expose flesh. It’s only downside is it’s ok AOE, but considering the lack of needing to carry an ammo backpack, reload, and take your 3rd weapon slot, this is the best AT option.
B-1 SUPPLY PACK
Logistics win wars, and this holds up in HD2, with the ability to replenish everyone’s supplies this will avoid the need to sit still on higher difficulties for a drop and help you be more independent when it comes to supplies. As previously mentioned this will make up the excess use of grenades, stims, and ammo, essentially negating the need for any armor buffs outside of surviving lethal blows or radar upgrades. You can solo clear the largest of bug nest and if using it all to yourself can have a brand new one ready before you’ve used up the first. No downsides in comparison to a supply and after all you’re going to need to feed that Stalwart to keep it thriving on the battlefield.
EXO-45 PATRIOT
Your fourth Stratagem is essentially your free square, as everything mentioned previously will cover every aspect to keep a mission progressing. So if you’re having trouble with a certain aspect, tailor it to your need. With that mentioned, let me tell you about the one Stratagem that encapsulates this loud-out perfectly. While the person who falsely advertised this product as “heavily” armored is under investigation for treason, this thing can handle pressure. With enough rockets to take out a Charger stampede or a small family of Titans, complimented by a mini-gun that makes any rapid fire weapon jealous. It’s as if someone with an Engineering Kit got a CO-1 Form approved to have some kind of experimental test between a Stalwart, EAT, and put it together using a Supply Pack. It shares the characteristics of previous Stratagems so continue aiming for heads for max efficiency. Also, don’t bother shooting scavengers or spitter variants as they can be trampled unless they’re about to start a bug breach, stay focused on priority targets and tactical assets. At the end of the day if you need something fun to use or truly show the power of managed democracy, this is your pick.
CONCLUSION
If this helped you give me a rating, iv’e just been having so much fun and thought id share, it would motivate me to make more guides. Let me know if you notice any mistakes or need further clarification on things.
