Fragmented City: Demo Walkthrough

To complete the game, you need to essentially hop on the train to Kingfisher Valley.

To do that, you must access the platform. Once you get here, the train will arrive as shown and you can simply board to complete the game.

There’re two ways to enter the platform:
1. Use a metro pass and scan it on the scanner to walk through the gates.

2. Climb through this vent and fall into the platform.
The following section will show you how to do it that:

This section will show you how to access the platform without needing a metro pass. This method is one quick way to finish the demo (without cheating):

1. Leave your apartments, go past the homeless community and come to these stairs. Follow the arrow towards the diner and subway.

2. Continue walking until you get to these stairs leading up to the diner.

3. Don’t go up the stairs, and instead crouch underneath them. You should see a vent.

4. Go through the vent, and you should come out to this area.

5. Go through the door on your right, leading to a bathroom and open the grate as shown.

6. Take the key labelled as “lattice gate key”.

7. Go through this long corridor. At the end, open the lattice gate using the key.

8. To your left, you should see a vent. Enter the vent.

9. Keep going to the vent until you get to this bird man.

10. Next to him is this vent. Fall through it and you reach the platform.

NOTE: if you are looking for unlocking the “Let’s make it quick” speedrun achievement, there is another way that involves a little bit of platforming. Before you’d go past the place of the homeless community, jump onto the trash container and the air conditioner above it to reach a shortcut leading to the other subway entrance in front of the diner.

If you don’t feel like climbing through vents, you could always get a metro pass, and there are a good couple of ways to do that:

1. Buy one at the metro ticket office, for $30.

2. Buy one from the barefoot birdman sitting the alley near the Red Raven Apartments building.

NOTE: the price this character asks for the metro pass is higher than the price the metro pass costs at the metro tickets office. If the player has tried to buy one there and thus aware of the official price, they can mention that to the barefoot bird and negotiate a lower price.

3. Get one from Rob the writer. If you have the note “It would be a good idea to get a metro pass from somewhere.”, and helped Rob, you can ask him for a metro pass. The note can be activated by asking the barefoot bird about how to get to Kingfisher Valley, or trying to open a gate blocking the subway station.

4. When Rob isn’t looking at you, it’s possible to steal his wallet. It’ll lower your moral, but this way you can get the metro pass without helping him.

If you care to be a moral citizen, and buy a metro pass, then you’re going to need money. There are a few ways to earn money in the game.

• Collect empty bottles, and recycle them using the vending machines. Every bottle gives you $1.
• Help other people, such as finding food cans, and donating them to the homeless community.
• There are plenty of dropped coins everywhere lying around.
• The boarded up abandoned apartment has a secret room with a bundle of money on top of the shelves. This secret room can be opened by activating a switch behind the desk.
• Take the money from the hidden stash behind the vent grate in Dennis’ apartment.

  These choices lower your moral:

• Lie to the barefoot bird that you are a debt collector.
• Empty the safe in the office of the diner. You can access it through the ventilation shaft opening at the top of the building.
• (You can steal Rob’s wallet as well, but this way you can already get a metro pass without buying one for the money)
