This guide for FINAL FANTASY IV includes two tables to help players keep track of their progress. These tables will help you keep track of enemies defeated, as well as chests and hidden items found throughout the game.
Introduction
Has a given creature already been defeated?
Did I take the elixir from the previous location?
Did I forget anything?
Playing FF, it is easy to get lost in what has already been done and what is still to be done.
Returning to previous locations can take a lot of time or even be impossible.
In connection with this, I would like to present two tables that will allow you to track your progress.

Hidden items & chests
Both tables can be downloaded as a spreadsheet to your computer or copied to your G account.
Below I will describe how the tables work and what they do, as well as how you can download/copy them.
Important: The table is based on user lylat’s guide. I highly recommend using the tables as a supplement to the excellent guide he created:

How tables and their functions work | Monsters status FFIV table
The table contains the following columns:
.
.
ID – This is the number under which a given monster appears in the bestiary. By default, the ID is arranged from first to last.
Monster Name – during the fight it is the monster’s name that is visible.
.
.
.
Status – the most important option. If you kill a monster during the game, all you have to do is change its status. This way you know that you won’t miss anyone when getting the achievement.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
,
,
Localization – Information about where a given monster appears.
Aditional info – Some monsters do not appear in a standard way or appear in a time-limited area. This column will tell you what to look for when hunting a given monster.
How tables and their functions work | Hidden items & chests
The table contains the following columns:
.
.
Location – An ordered list of locations from the first location in the game where a chest/hidden item is located to the last.
.
.
Number of boxes – number of boxes in location.
Checkboxes – When you find a box in location, check the box.
This will let you know how many boxes you have already found.
Boxes completed – If the number of checked boxes matches the number of boxes the system will automatically change the status to TRUE if the number of checked boxes does not match the number of boxes the status will remain FALSE.
You search for boxes until the status is TRUE. The column changes automatically based on your progress. You should not edit it manually.
.
.
.
Number of collectibles – number of hidden items in a given location.
Checkboxes – When you find a hidden item in location, check the box.
This will let you know how many hidden items you have already found.
Collectibles completed – If the number of checked boxes matches the number of collectibles the system will automatically change the status to TRUE if the number of checked boxes does not match the number of collectibles the status will remain FALSE.
You are looking for hidden items until the status is TRUE. The column changes automatically based on your progress. You should not edit it manually.
.
.
.
Location completed – If the Collectibles completed and Boxes completed columns are true. This means that the location has been cleared of all boxes and hidden items. If the Collectibles completed or Boxes completed columns are false, this means that you have not found something. The column changes automatically based on your progress. You should not edit it manually.

Personally, I work with both tables using Google Sheets. I haven’t tested whether the software won’t break when trying to open the sheet using Excel or another program. I recommend using Google Sheets.
