“Looking to upgrade your Skoda in Euro Truck Simulator 2? Look no further! In this guide, we will show you how to unlock and install secret parts for your Skoda, available as of July 2024. Get ready to customize and enhance your virtual trucking experience!”
Introduction
WARNING! This guide assumes you are using an offline profile. If you are backing up your saves to Steam, disable it while you are save-editing.
If you are just here for the codes, I have made a seperate guide just for those found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3299235779
So you’ve been hanging about on TruckersMP recently and seen all these Skoda’s with their funky lights and bumpers, and wondered how you (YOU) can drive such a beautifully riced vehicle.
Pictured above, the ideal human form
Step 0: Setup
So before we get started, I recommend getting an application for editing text documents easily, I recommend Notepad++[drive.google.com] as it is a small but powerful text editor.
Alongside this, you will need the SII Decompiler[drive.google.com], extract and save it to
(If in doubt which profile you are saving it to, open the profile and make a save, it will be the latest save modified).
Lastly, head over to
and open the “config.cfg” using Notepad++.
CTRL-F and search for “g_save_format”, and set the value to 2.
Step 1: Preparation to save editing
At this point you can also apply whatever modifications to the car that you want. Personally, I would avoid adding any pilot lights to the roof since these may interfer with some of the modifications that you can make.
Take note of the end of your license plate (In my case “OX 223”).
Step 2: Time to find our Skoda
This will create a new folder in your “/save” folder, which will be the most recent if sorted by Date Modified.
In my case, that will be folder “5”
WARNING! Before going any further, CLOSE YOUR GAME AND MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR SAVE!
I am not taking any responsibility for broken save files.
Copy your SII Decrypt into this folder, and it should look very similar to this:
Drag and drop your “game.sii” onto the SII_Decrypt.exe, and it should popup a black window for a split second. This will allow you to open the “game.sii” using Notepad++.
If your file still looks like the left of the image, you will need to drag the file onto the .exe again and reload. It should look like the right of the image.
Now, we are going to CTRL-F find our license plate.
This is our Skoda!
Step 3: Adding our modifications
In this guide, I will only be adding a front bumper, side bumper and roof light, but you can add any of the other parts as you wish. I’d recommend to not add more than one of any of the parts with the same name, or they will conflict (e.g. two spoilers or a roof strobe light and roof box).
We are pasting each of the code blocks into this space marked with a professionally drawn arrow:
Once we are done, it should look like so:
The new lines I added are shown next to the orange
Each of these code blocks have a name. For example
slot_name: 0
slot_hookup: 0
data_path: “/def/vehicle/truck/skoda.superb/accessory/skimmer/skimmer2.sii”
refund: 150
}
has a name of “front”. I recommend renaming these to something unique to that car, like skoda1front.
Scroll up until you find a block of “accessories”
The top item is the count of accessories (23), and the lines below are the names of each accessory.
Since I am adding 3 items to the car, I will update the count from 23 to 26 and add our names to the list below, shown next to the orange:
Save the file, and reload your save, and your edits should appear on the car!
NOTE: If the edits doesn’t seem to have applied, back up your new game.sii and make a new save onto the save file.
Once saved, put your backup back into the folder and try loading in game again.
End
