In this article, we will explore all the achievements in the game Dragon Spirits and provide details on how to obtain them, especially for the more obscure ones. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, this guide will help you master all the achievements in Dragon Spirits.
Introduction
Unmissable Story Achievements
Don’t stay up – Start a new game.
Your Tungsteel is taking off – Ride the Tungsteel to the academy.
An accidental contract – Contract Raven during the field trip to the Giant Woods.
Secret base – Set up the secret base in the old school building before the midterm.
Mid-term – Pass the mid-term.
Harbinger of Justice – Make a decision in the secret base meeting.
When it comes down to it, I’m still the strongest! – Finish the training on Heaven Plume Bridge.
Final Exam – Pass the final exam.
Missable/Other Story Achievements
ATM – Talk to Mr. Lui during the charity sale (there are two of them during the story), and ask him for crystal shards.
Where on the islands is Mr. Lui – Find Mr. Lui while skipping classes. He will roam the non-city areas, and you will get alerted if he’s in the same area you are in, so you can just go back and forth between two screens until you find him.
Just as a note, there are also two other missable achievements involving skipping classes and either beating or losing to Mr. Lui — Flip the podium and Bad kids’ buster. It’s possible to miss these achievements if you complete the story as Mr. Lui no longer shows up around the islands. These achievements are described in more detail in the Combat section.
Adventurer I – Finish all quests under Exploring the Islands I.
Adventurer II – Finish all quests under Exploring the Islands II.
Junior-high detective – Finish all quests under Academy Stuff.
Historian – Finish all quests under The River of History.
If you’re having trouble getting any of the finish all quest achievements, check your side quests book and specifically look in the completed section, that’s what gave me the achievement.
Inventory Achievements
Hoarder – Have 30 ‘Common’ items.
Richie-rich – Have more than 10 000 crystal shards.
Crystal overflow – Have more than 100 000 crystal shards.
Cheater? – Have more than 1 000 000 crystal shards. There’s a guide on this one already which was a huge help, I’d recommend checking it out!
Gourmet – Have 30 ‘Food’ items.
Tactical reserve – Have 50 ‘Trinket’ items.
Dragon Spirit master – Contract 50 Dragon Spirits.
Dragon Spirit doctor – Contract 100 Dragon Spirits.
The top Dragon Spirit scholar on the islands – Contract 150 Dragon Spirits.
Thieving under the daylight – Steal from Tan Yanthin’s locker. The locker is in the secret hideout on the top floor of the old school building, just select the option to steal. I did this after the main story, though you may be able to do it before.
Campus pass – Get Mr. Lui’s debt note. After the main story, Mr. Lui is found in Gleam Coast City in his house. Defeat him in a match to get his debt note.
Loan shark – Borrow some crystal shards from Tan Yanthin. This can be done before the end of the main story (by asking her while skipping classes) or after the main story (when she’s north of Double Dragon City).
One cent enters, two cents leave – Lend We Young some money. This is done after the main story. He’s located in the north part of Milleniburg on the top of the wall after the Nekra quest, he won’t accept any other offers other than giving him 2000 shards for 100.
Childhood best friend – Max out Tan Yanthin’s friendship. This is done after the main story, she’s found at Wishing Beach near Double Dragon City. You can check friendship by talking then selecting greeting. It shows up to three gold stars, and the stars turn pink when you’ve maxed out the friendship. Pretty easy to max out her friendship, just keep borrowing and returning money until you get the achievement.
Teacher as friend – Max out Lui Chesion’s friendship. Again, after the main story. I walked around for a bit then battled a couple of times before getting max friendship.
Nemesis – Max out We Young’s friendship. Once again, after the main story. I also walked around for a bit before battling a couple times to max out friendship.
Area-Specific Achievements
Gleam Coast avenue’s champion – Win 20 rounds in a row in the Gleam Coast avenue. The counter in the text with the contractor was broken when I completed it, but it still counted up my wins. Make sure to save between matches. Overview of the strategy:
Team:
- Thornslie (Rime Arrow, 200/350/200/350/200/700, Swift Aura / Blitz / Scythe Dance / Wind Pressure, Hunt / Ancient Power talents).
- Dualtail (Entangled Roots, no optimized stats, Nihilation Shield / Harden / Magic Crawler / Reform, Filth / Pierce).
- Thronea (Song of Siren, no optimized stats, Dragonfall / Pump Bash / Solemn Courtesy / Raindrop, Waterfall / Qigong).
- Besual (White Drip Stone, no optimized stats, Pump Bash / Frost Armor / Flash / Cooling Panel, Ripple / Bright).
Strategy:
- Thornslie can sweep mostly, use Swift Aura a couple of times then spam Blitz until the first Dragon Spirit is down, then more Swift Auras. If you run out of SP, use some Swift Auras as soon as you can, and the Ancient Power talent will regenerate even more SP.
- Dualtail can usually clean up any other Dragon Spirits if Thornslie goes down thanks to Nihilation Shield + Harden + Entangled Roots, use Magic Crawler for additional damage and Reform if your HP is going down fast.
- Thronea is further backup, use Raindrop then Dragonfall for the Heavy Rain effect to further buff water moves, Pump Bash if the other side has lots of buffs to force a switch.
- This team is heavily dependent on indirect damage, so feel free to switch out Besual for a direct damager (Besual went mostly unused except in dire situations).
Practice room’s champion – Win 20 rounds in a row in the Practice room at the academy. I used the same strategy as the Gleam Coast avenue.
Sandy’s record holder – Do >80 000 direct damage in one hit and >12 000 indirect damage for the two challenges in Sandy. There’s some guides in the forums already on how to get this one (and I unfortunately didn’t write down which strategy I used). Just as a note, I was having trouble getting this achievement even though I had completed both the indirect and direct damage portions – make sure you talk to the contractor and ask about the rules after you’ve done both parts, that’s what let me get the achievement.
Double Dragon City Gourmet Contest’s champion – Win the Double Dragon City Gourmet Contest. Involves winning 10 rounds using only 2 Dragon Spirits, with rounds 5 and 10 being more difficult. Overview of the strategy:
Team:
- Thornslie from Gleam Coast.
- Vermilionbird (Navy Blue Beads, 200/0/200/700/200/700 stats, Dance of Fire / Erupt / Burning Meteorite / Nirvana, Pyro / Reborn).
Strategy:
- Thornslie can mostly sweep the other team, Vermilionbird is a backup (use Dance of Fire for SP regen, then Burning Meteorite + Blue Navy Beads does a bunch of damage and only paralyzes for 1 second).
- The last battle took a few tries due to the negative SP start and the constant huge stat decreases – Swap from Thornslie to Vermilionbird to get some SP back, then kill the Starbarrie before it kills Vermilionbird (I used erupt after it fainted my Vermilionbird once), this prevents Thornslie from getting those huge stat decreases from Starbarrie. After Vermilionbird goes down then Thornslie can use a few Swift Auras and kill the last Dragon Spirit with Blitz.
- You could probably replace Nirvana for Gilded Whirlwind, I didn’t use Nirvana much.
Evernight City Unlimited Firepower Battles’ champion – Win 10 rounds of the Evernight City Unlimited Firepower Battle. This isn’t too difficult. Overview of the strategy:
Team: I only ended up using Vermilionbird and Thornslie, but I had the others as backup.
- Vermilionbird from Double Dragon City Gourmet Contest.
- Dualtail from Gleam Coast Avenue.
- Thornslie from Gleam Coast Avenue.
- Starweaver (Resplendent Stone, 300/0/250/700/250/500 stats, Halo / Song of Unbend / Spiral Light Bolt / Blizzard, Divine’s Touch / Dispel).
Strategy:
- Vermilionbird can pretty easily sweep, spam Dance of Fire as soon as you can until you have enough SP for either Burning Meteorite (if you’re still full health) or Erupt (if you’re at low health).
- Switch in Thornslie and spam Swift Aura + Blitz if the enemy is resistant to Vermilionbird.
Verdant Plain’s maze solver – Solve all 3 mazes in Verdant Plains. The first two are quite easy, just rush for the stone pillars (for the second one, just swap your first Dragon Sprit out when it gets debuffed). The last one is difficult – the pillar is at the opposite corner of the entrance, and there are heavy debuffs applied to your entire team when you defeat an enemy. Overview of strategy for the last maze:
Teams: I used 2 teams of 3 Dragon Spirits, swapping them out when the whole team gets debuffed.
- Team 1: Thornslie from Gleam Coast, Dualtail from Gleam Coast, and Dimcoal (Dimcoal was left unused).
- Team 2: Vermilionbird from Gourmet, Thronea from Gleam Coast, Starweaver from Evernight City.
Strategy:
- There are pools that you can use to restore your Dragon Spirits back to full stats, make sure to only use them when both teams are debuffed.
- Avoid battles at all costs, only do the necessary ones.
- I went down, left, restored at the pool, down (avoiding the roaming enemy) to get the movement upgrade from the flower, left + down (through the winding passageway so you don’t have to fight), run back to restore at the second pool, then left to the pillar.
Aureate Gold Mine’s challenger – Win 12 rounds of battles in a row in the Aureate Gold Mine Arena. 1-on-1 battles, Platinum stops healing your Dragon Spirit for the last 3 battles. Overview of strategy:
Dragon Spirit: Thronea (Hard Shell Pincher, 700/700/200/0/200/200, Dragonfall / Sanction / Raindrop / Solemn Courtesy, Waterfall / Qigong).
Strategy:
- This Thronea is very tanky, start with a Raindrop then keep using Dragonfall or Sanction if the other Dragon Spirit is resistant.
- Use Raindrop in the last few rounds to make sure your HP is topped up.
Fall Breeze Plain’s champion – Get 5 Marks of Victory at once in Fall Breeze Plain time attack. Pretty easy, I used Vermilionbird with Gilded Whirlwind instead of Nirvana to buff, used Gilded Whirlwind first, Fire Dance to recover SP, then a mix of Erupt and Burning.
Golden Wave City’s ghostbuster – complete Golden Wave City Spooky Trip with minimum visibility (cheapest option, 2000 shards). Not too hard, but it is RNG-dependent since your team is randomly picked. Avoid touching the roaming creatures. Save between battles, you need 3 tokens to open the passage on the upper floor. The contractors in the rooms at the back of the first floor give 3 tokens without locking you into a room.
Combat Achievements
A full team – Get a full team of 4 Dragon Spirits.
I am the God of the new world – Use an instant-defeat skill on the opposing Dragon Spirit.
Home run – Push your opponent’s CP to 0 in one attack.
Learning process – Fail 10 battles.
Flip the podium – Defeat Mr. Lui, continue your loitering. Missable achievement if you complete the main story, since Mr. Lui no longer roams the islands when you skip class. Battling him here doesn’t count for defeating him with only 1 Dragon Spirit (which I tried), so you can use a full team, which would be easier. Overview of strategy:
Dragon Spirit: Thronea (Hard Shell Pincher, 700/700/200/0/200/200, Dragonfall / Sanction / Raindrop / Solemn Courtesy, Waterfall / Qigong). Used stat-boosting Rapier of Sin before battle for +5 DEF levels.
Strategy: Use Raindrop when you need HP, Sanction for further buffs, Dragonfall is the main damage dealer. Make sure when fighting Cerulea that your SP does not drop too low or it can insta-kill you.
Bad kids’ buster – Get defeated by Mr. Lui while skipping classes. Also missable like the previous achievement, you can only get it if you skip classes during the story.
Schools out – Defeat Mr. Lui with only 1 Dragon Spirit in your team. This can only be completed after the main story when you meet him in his house. You don’t need to do the more difficult battle. I used Nekra (Frost Axe, unoptimized stats, Rune of Nihilate / Taunt / Panic / Interfere, usual talents), Taunt for SP, Rune of Nihilate for damage.
Three steps ahead – Find and defeat Tan Yanthin with only one Dragon Spirit on your team. After the main story as well, when she’s at Wishing Beach. Overview of strategy:
Dragon Spirit: Ghira (Smoke Bomb, 400/400/300/100/400/400, Verity Round Dance / Fragrance / Haste / Qigong, usual talents), +60 agility item, and the x4 ATK item buff from special items.
Strategy:
- The Smoke Bomb completely cancels Andes’ healing, so there’s no recovery and Side Effect doesn’t drain Ghira’s health.
- Use Verity Round Dance first, it should KO Silverbell and buff all your stats, then use Fragrance a few times until you have max stats.
- Spam Verity Round Dance, try to use it when you’re above 150% to fully maximize the damage with the Squall talent.
- I used Haste once while fighting Andes to see if it helped at all, though I’m not sure you need it.
The train – Defeat We Young on the Metapolis train during the final exam. You can skip this fight in the story and come back to it later if it’s too hard (talk to We Young in Milleniburg). I unfortunately didn’t write down my strategy, but it’s not too difficult of a battle, especially once you have Holy Dragons.
Metapolis – Defeat Tan Yanthin on the Metapolis train during the final exam. Again, you can skip and come back to it later (talk to Tan Yanthin near Double Dragon City). I also didn’t write my strategy down, but like I said it’s not too hard especially once you have Holy Dragons later on.
Inverse creation – Contract Nekra. Difficult, considering you must defeat Nekra when it enters rampage mode, it constantly drains health, and you cannot lose any Dragon Spirits. It also has a move that can completely remove stat buffs and status effects and then hits really hard. Overview of strategy:
Team:
- Besual (Ocean Ocarina, unoptimized stats, Flash / Cooling Panel (other moves unused), usual talents).
- Naberius (Regret Hourglass, unoptimized stats, Earth Carve / Welding Spark / Flash / Qigong, Electrification / Vanguard).
- Dualtail from Gleam Coast but with Tranquil Stone.
- Macropincer (Revive Feather, unoptimized stats, Foam Hammer (other moves unused)).
- Item to boost AGI by 5 at start of battle.
Strategy:
- Timing is a bit weird, but start with Besual, use Flash, switch to Naberius and immediately use Welding Spark to Blind + Numb Nekra. Wait until 150 CP to use Earth Carve to Paralyze Nekra, then one more Earth Carve when Nekra has both Numb and Paralyze for lots of damage.
- Switch to Dualtail, use Nihilation Shield as soon as possible, and stay in that state to save up some SP. You’ll need 100 to use Foam Hammer as soon as Nekra enters rampage.
- Around about when Flash runs out, switch back to Besual, use Flash, then switch to Macropincer and wait for Nekra to rampage (when the music changes and when Nekra gets 100 SP) – the timing can get a bit weird, so Nekra may KO Macropincer before it rampages, causing the Revive Feather to go off too early.
- Foam Hammer should KO Nekra once rampage starts, and the Revive Feather will revive Macropincer, so your whole team is still alive.
The all-knowing – Contract Ghira. Not as difficult as Nekra, but can get annoying considering support moves are blocked and you need to have at least 10 support skills on your team in total. I used one Dragon Spirit with all support skills, then the other 3 members having two support skills each.
Dragon Spirit: Naberius (Fluid Shadow, unoptimized stats, Earth Carve / Welding Spark / Flash / Qigong, Electrification / Vanguard talents).
Strategy:
- I don’t have a full team setup explained like Nekra, but Naberius was the main Dragon Spirit in the match thanks to Welding Spark inflicting Blind, and Earth Carve then doing tons of crit damage.
- Ghira misses Verity Round Dance a lot when blinded (basically making it unable to injure you), so feel free to create the rest of the team with that idea in mind.
The first holy dragon – Contract Andes. The Smoke Bomb item completely trivializes this fight since it cancels out Andes’ healing and health drain due to Side Effects. Strategy:
Team:
- Besual from
- Zorye (Smoke Bomb, unoptimized stats, Condensed Fire / Heat Blade / Ghost Flame / Silence Spell, usual talents).
- Feletch (Smoke Bomb, main idea here is the move Smog).
- Cerulea was also in this team to potentially revive with Elixir, but I didn’t end up using it.
Strategy:
- Besual sets up Flash, Zorye uses one Condensed Fire and Silence Spell to gain 5 stat boosts in each stat except AGI, then spam Ghost Flame and Heat Blade until Creation runs out and Andes starts taking more damage.
- Switch to Feletch, deal the final blow with Smog (to ensure you don’t deal too much direct damage in the last hit).
Shadow Battle Achievements Part I
Another me – Defeat shadow Chang Junwai. I used the strategy to farm 1 million crystal shards to defeat this shadow. It’s located in the Metapolis train, so make sure to take Tan Yanthin along with you to open the entrance in Milleniburg.
Egoism – Defeat shadow Hsia Minsh. She’s located in the house within Nameless Valley during Nekra’s quest. I found this to be the most difficult battle out of all the shadows. Overview of strategy:
Issues:
- All Dragon Spirits on her team have Tranquil Stones, so you cannot apply states.
- Dragon Spirits steal your stat enchants when they swap.
- Every 20 seconds, all KOed Dragon Spirits on her side are revived with full health.
- Her Nekra is immediately in rampage mode when it swaps in, gains 100 SP, and does tons of damage.
- You must deal at least 500 direct damage with each damaging move otherwise you lose.
- Dragon Spirits other than Nekra have huge shields and high indirect damage immunity.
- Nekra is immune to indirect damage and instant-KO moves.
Team:
- Besual (Ocean Ocarina, Flash / Dance of Fire / Cleanse / Cooling Panel).
- Zorye (White Drip Stone, Condensed Fire / Heat Blade / Darkening Flame / Silence Spell).
- Macropincer (Pupil of Oppression, Foam Hammer / Sparkling Rush / Firmament Sword / Forbear).
- Cerulea (Ocean Ocarina, Moist Drizzle / Elixir / Silence Spell / Mist).
Strategy:
- Used Fish Oil for starting 80 SP.
- The main idea of the strategy is to use Zorye to take out the 3 Dragon Spirits other than Nekra with Condensed Fire (since they are not immune to insta kill), and to use Macropincer to defeat Nekra (Cerulea can revive Macropincer after taking huge recoil damage from Foam Hammer).
- Start with Besual, use Flash then Fire Dance, switch to Zorye, then use Condensed Fire to kill the first 3 Dragon Spirits.
- Once Nekra comes in, you have a few seconds before rampage starts – save up SP so you switch into Macropincer with 100 SP for Foam Hammer.
- Ensure Cerulea doesn’t get taken out, use Moist Drizzle for more SP.
- Persist went off once when I battled (reviving all previous Dragon Spirits), but it doesn’t heal Nekra as long as Nekra is still alive, so just make sure to finish off Nekra, and insta-KO the revived Dragon Spirits before Persist revives Nekra.
Realism – Defeat Ling Yu’s shadow. Located at the west side of Anser Town, by the crops to the right of the fish pond. Overview of strategy:
Issues:
- All Dragon Spirits have Mithril Shields (decreasing your stats when KOed), and are resistant to indirect damage (except for Naberius).
- Naberius has extremely high HP and ATK, and is immune to instant-KO moves.
- None of your Dragon Spirits can get KOed or the battle ends.
- Zorye is immune to states, indirect damage, and instant-KO.
- Every 2 seconds, you are blocked from using a certain type of move (switching between physical/magical/support).
Team:
- Previous Besual.
- Nekra (Puritest Gold, Rune of Nihilate / Taunt / Panic / Interfere).
- Zorye (White Drip Stone, Condensed Fire / Ember Strike / Ghost Flame / Silence Spell).
- Thronea (Longevity Peach, Fragrance / Raindrop / Dragonfall / Solemn Courtesy).
Strategy:
- Used item to increase AGI by 5.
- The main idea of the strategy is to use Zorye to instant-KO Fungusvine and Botis, use Nekra for Naberius, and Thronea for Zorye.
- Start with Besual, set up Flash/Dance of Fire, then switch to Zorye. Switch to Nekra once Fungusvine is down.
- Use Interfere to Confuse Naberius, Taunt to regain SP, and Panic to decrease Naberius’ speed. Puritest Gold will decrease Naberius’ huge HP bit by bit.
- You can set up Flash or switch to Zorye and KO Botis. Switch to Thronea once Botis is down.
- Thronea is immune to insta-KO from Zorye as long as it’s over half HP, is also immune to indirect damage. Use Fragrance to get all your stats to +5, then spam Dragonfall/Raindrop until Zorye goes down.
Shadow Battle Achievements Part II
The Practitioner – Defeat Leung Shu’s shadow. Found at the back of Aureate Gold Mine (where you find Platinum). Overview of strategy:
Issues:
- If both your side and the other side’s levels add up to 15 or over, you immediately lose.
- Ghira and Blanc are immune to instant-KO.
- Ghira can’t get debuffs.
- Sakura has huge amounts of HP and ATK.
- Blanc prevents SP regen.
- Other team gains Absorb every now and again (so it’s hard to damage them).
Team:
- Previous Besual from Leung Shu battle.
- Zorye (White Drip Stone, Condensed Fire / Ember Strike / Ghost Flame / Silence Spell).
- Nekra (Hard Shell Pincher, Rune of Nihilate / Taunt / Panic / Interfere).
- Cerulea (Song of Siren, Moist Drizzle / Elixir / Stem / Mist).
Strategy:
- Used item to increase AGI by 5.
- Main idea of strategy is to use Zorye to instant-KO any Dragon Spirits not immune to it, Nekra to kill the others, and Cerulea to revive.
- Set up Dance of Fire then Flash with Besual, switch to Nekra.
- Use Taunt + Rune of Nihilate to take out Blanc, then switch to Zorye to instant-KO Sakura and Windwolf (do not use Silence Spell).
- Switch to Nekra to take out Ghira using Taunt and Rune of Nihilate (which clears Ghira’s stat boosts).
- Use Cerulea to revive Nekra if Ghira takes it out.
The fifth person – Defeat Ling Zing’s shadow. Located on the second floor of the house near the Snow Bathed Forest teleport point. Overview of strategy:
Issues:
- Dragon Spirits have Revive Feathers, so you have to defeat them twice (but it clears their SP).
- Sometimes your HP gets healed and you gain Observing (so you can’t do anything for a bit).
- Zorye is immune to instant-KO and debuffs.
- Can’t get any Dragon Spirits KOed or the fight ends
Team: Same team as Leung Shu’s shadow.
Strategy:
- Used item to increase AGI by 5.
- Set up Flash and Dance of Fire (key here), then use Zorye to take out the first 3 Dragon Spirits.
- Set up Flash with Besual, switch to Nekra to take out Zorye with Taunt and Rune of Nihilate.
- Some RNG involved here if Zorye takes out Nekra, but I found that it tries to set up Burn first, which is cleared by Nekra’s Rune of Nihilate.
Longevity – Defeat Linann’s shadow. Found at the bottom of the ocean in the shell house at Tide Island. Overview of strategy:
Issues:
- Can’t deal >=500 direct damage or you lose.
- All Dragon Spirits immune to instant-KO.
- All Dragon Spirits have Oceanic Sugar Cube which heals them/damages you upon doing less than 100 direct damage.
- Every 10 seconds, your direct damage gets doubled or halved.
Team:
- Previous Besual.
- Thornslie (Smoke Bomb, Swift Aura / Blitz / Dragon Spin / Firmament Sword).
- Andes (Red Crystal, Chime Fantasia / Strange Physic / Radiant Flower / Taunt).
- Thronea (Smoke Bomb, Mist / Moist Drizzle / Dragonfall / Solemn Courtesy).
Strategy:
- Used item to increase AGI by 5.
- Set up Flash with Besual, then switch to Thornslie and immediately use Dragon Spin to get Vanish, since Seabutterfly will try to swap you out with Pump Bash.
- Thornslie focuses on Seabutterfly to kill it first using a mix of Swift Aura, Firmament Sword, and Dragon Spin when you need Vanish again.
- Keep an eye on the current buff/debuff of your direct damage – if your direct damage is halved, only use Dragon Spin and Swift Aura since your damaging moves will not do enough damage, so the Oceanic Sugar Cube will activate and make Thornslie take damage.
- Once Seabutterfly is down, switch to Andes and set up Strange Physic (for Side Effect) and Radiant Flower, this will slowly drain away Domefall and Aurumiro’s health until they both go down. Use Chime Fantasia if you need more healing.
- Switch to either Thornslie or Thronea when Andes is left. Smoke Bomb prevents Andes’ healing, so you won’t take damage from Side Effects and Andes won’t heal.
- Same setup with Thornslie like Seabutterfly, just keep an eye on if your direct damage is buffed or debuffed.
- I was going to use Thronea later in the fight since Andes tends to spam Chime Fantasia when it gets low (and Thronea is immune to indirect damage), but my Thronea got taken out quite early, so I managed to scrape by with Thornslie.
