Cyber Manhunt 2: New World: 100% Achievement Walkthrough (Early Access – Up to Chapter 3)

This guide includes all the steps needed to obtain all information and Achievements, and gives a checklist for each chapter’s information. There’s also an entire section in the middle of Chapter 3 dedicated to the Public Opinion portion of the game if you just need that. With that, let’s just dive in.

Once you start, give yourself a name. From here you will be asked 3 questions, the answers of which I’m fairly certain do not matter. Answer however you want.

Achievement #1 – Fresh Start: Complete the initial test.
When you End Test and get transferred to Ashley, you will get this achievement.

After being transferred to Ashley Clayson, we begin the game proper. Answer the call, she will brief you. Basically, someone is suspected of leaking Titan’s data to a competitor, and we need to investigate someone to deal with it.

Achievement #2 – I Got This: Who needs tutorials?
When prompted to start the tutorial, click Cancel to handle it yourself. Don’t worry, I’ll guide through, leaving these Achievement markers for those who wanna skip the walkthrough.

Open the Email and collect Edwin Hobb [1/19].
Search for Edwin Hobb on your browser. Open his Toothbook and collect his Username: Edwin_H [2/19] and his Toothbook ID: TB3107121 [3/19].
Scroll to the second post (Today’s stock market…) and collect it. You will get his hobby, Stock trading [4/19].
Scroll to the last post (Exactly 61 years…) and collect it. You will get his Date of Birth: 12.10.1959 [5/19] automatically, without needing to calculate it yourself (thanks game).
Use the Database with Hobb’s name and DoB to collect more information – SSN, Tel, House Number, and Hitalk Account [6/19, 7/19, 8/19, 9/19].
Use Cracking to crack Hobb’s password: Ed432hob [10/19] (thank god it’s automatic information insertion now).
Access Hobb’s Hitalk. Check the first chat (Lyte) and collect Hobb’s message (Titan’s stock will continue…) [11/19].
Check the second chat (Blanco). Scroll to the very bottom (should be at the bottom by default) to collect “No, I have other things to do” [12/19] and the picture of Blanco’s business card [13/19].
Check the picture of Blanco’s card, Collect Useful Info, and collect Tom Blanco [14/19] and the Address of EOS Institute [15/19]. That’s all for his Hitalk, so pull on the Tom Blanco thread.
Search for Tom Blanco on your browser. Open his Toothbook, scroll to the third post and collect it (With some help…) [16/19].
Use Hacking and hack Hobb’s phone. Drag both hobbies in, generate the link, and enter his phone number.

• Open his Photos app. Collect Park.jpg [17/19].
• Make a mental note of 12369874.jpg.
• Open his Messages app. Use the pattern from the above, dragging in the order of 12369874 on a phone keypad. (See below spoiler image, starting from the top left)

• Open the text with Atlas Airlines. Collect the segment “Your flight will depart…” [19/19]. Exit hacking after.

Achievement #3 – Truth Unearthed: Complete your first inference.
Progression based. Just complete your first Inference to get this achievement.

At this point, you have 19/19, and can submit immediately.

Achievement #4 – Try It Out: Collect all the clues and complete Prologue: Try It Out.
Refer to the checklist below if you’re missing anything.

These will be done in the format of a 100% guide on the first game.
Note: At some point you get AI Retrieval, which gives you hints as to where uncollected information lies. I noticed it at the end of Chapter 3, so I assume you get it as a result of finishing most of the game at that point (I didn’t confirm this part, feel free to comment on the actual reason). Replaying this game gave me a chance to use it, but I already know where to get everything already, so I didn’t bother. But what I mean to say is you might not need the checklist. Despite that, here you go, for the first time players or those who are waiting on the cooldown on retrieval.

Achievement #5 – Elite Hacker: Complete Web penetration within 90 seconds.
Save before you attempt Web penetration for the purposes of this achievement. As a tip, copy /Nmap from here to your clipboard; you’ll be using it often. /Nmap once on C0, move to T0, /Sniff and /Attack the Firewall. Then /Nmap on F0 and use /Nmap again on the goal node C1. You should get the achievement once you get the password if you did this fast enough.

After completing the inference, Ashley instructs us to make an anonymous call to Singh. You need to first synthesize her voice, putting different voiceprints in five slots.

• From Emotion, pick Angry and put it in the first slot
• From Age, pick 26-38 Yrs and put it in the second slot
• From Jessie Walkley, put the three voice prints in the same order in the three slots

Now you have to mess with the waveforms. Use the sliders and look at the progression bars on the bottom right. Fill them up to 100 and hit Confirm. Now call Singh. If you haven’t gotten the following achievement, then

Achievement #6 – From Mistakes to Mastery: Fingers crossed Ashley won’t mind.
You need to fail a total of five times to get this, you can get this now by just picking Be straightforward. This can be a little time consuming, so my suggestion is to boot up Cheat Engine and use the Speedhack tool to speed the game up, allowing you to run through the dialogue quicker.

Search for Finder on your browser. Open the only result, and you immediately get the achievement. You can’t download Finder from here so just carry on.

There are 11 specific clues to pick up to advance the progression on Hidden secrets. We already got two of them – clues 95 and 109. Though if you were going for this anyway, you’d probably also be going for all clues.

Achievement #8 – Unethical Bonds: Find the familiar face in the cloud drive.
Upon collecting clue 130, you get this achievement. It’s Aogesi Will from DLC 1 of the first game, the person who worked with Claudia’s dad to save her.

Let’s pull on the Private chat thread now. Search for Brierley High School on your browser. Go to the official website, and click the chat thing at the bottom right of the webpage. In this new subwindow, click the three bars at the bottom left, and click Developer Mode (you can click Sign-in for funsies).
Copy the updated password for the chat room into the text box (Claudia > Important Privacy, see clue 127).
Now click the devil chat thing and you access Shadow Chat.

Achievement #9 – Dark Room: Their words are naive and cruel.
Opening Shadow Chat immediately nets you this achievement.

Achievement #16 – Masterful Maneuver: Pinpoint the suspect’s location within 150 seconds.
As the description says, you have to win the next minigame in 150 seconds. You’re given 300 seconds (5 minutes), and you have to do it in half that time. Basically, you have to access the cameras one by one to be able to pinpoint the suspect’s location. Here are the cameras you need if you want a text description, or check the end to see an image.
These directions assume the top of the screen is North.

• First camera is the only option
• Second camera is directly East, towards Fat Goose.
• Third camera is the one going North.
• Fourth camera is the one that made a U-turn going South, back towards Fat Goose.
• Fifth camera is straight ahead (East), towards Sweet Sicily Pasta.
• Sixth camera is all the way to the East, the camera icon is slightly covering “Federal Square”.
• Seventh camera is at the far South, next to Fast Food Restaurant.
• Eighth camera is directly East of the seventh one.
• Ninth camera is the middle of the three options (slightly North, then turn to East).
• Tenth camera is directly North of the ninth one.
• The final camera is a short distance directly North of the tenth one, south of “Train Station”.

Check below for the image. I couldn’t highlight the final camera in-game because doing so immediately advances to the next stage. Once you do find the final camera within 150 seconds, you get the achievement.

Now you’ll be given a minigame where you have to cover nodes with viruses. The instructions are below, and you can take your time with Security Gates 1 and 2 to understand them. But Security Gate 3 has a time limit. It’s fairly easy regardless. Basically cover all circles, coloured circles only accept the matching colour virus. As usual, text instructions below, image instructions below that. If you’re reading the text instructions, read Gate 3’s one before you finish Gate 2.
– Gate 1 is shown to you for free.
– Gate 2 is also straightforward, drag the Blue virus to the left to cover the Blue node, then drag the Green virus to the right to cover the last one.
– Gate 3 is a little bit tricky, my suggestion is drag the Red virus clockwise along the outside until it reaches the Red node, similarly drag the Green virus clockwise until it reaches the Green node, then drag the Blue virus counter-clockwise filling in the remaining nodes.

Spam click on Close Gate and you’ll get a bunch of errors before it finally works (you actually don’t have to click, the Gate automatically closes after Flore goes through, the only difference is Ashley is rightfully pissed at you), only after Flore passes and escapes. You’ll now be asked to deal with Public Opinion. If you played the first game, this is the exact same thing from Chapter 4. I saw a description of that minigame to be like Tinder: Swipe left on good articles, and right on bad articles. Each article has a correct answer between swiping left and swiping right. Bad articles are ones that have some relation to Maria and the suicide case. In this case, this would be smoking, mahjong, nuns, suicide, embezzlement, and anything I may have missed.

This part is NOT CONFIRMED to be how it works, I’m just guessing that’s how. PLEASE comment below if you know precisely how it works.

It’s not just making the right decision that helps. You can deploy sock-puppeteers to boost the effectiveness of the decision. Each of the news articles will be associated with a region. If you make the correct selection, that region will decrease the number of people with negative opinions/increase the number of people with positive opinions. Using sock puppeteers will amplify the result.

Also some news articles have a thing where if you make the “correct” selection on them, it grants you one Response Capacity of a particular news preference. This “correct” selection is independent of whether it is correct for the purposes of our objective (example: One article may award you the Response Capacity even if it makes Maria look worse).

I’m going to be honest here, I have no idea what this does. I thought that the region’s news preferences would affect the result of a correct selection. but now I’m not so sure. In any case, here are some MASSIVE assumptions I’m going to make.

• (This is the smallest assumption): A news article will only affect the region it’s associated with.
• Each news article will have types associated with it. Also each region has news preferences. If the news article has a news type that is in its associated region’s news preferences, the result will be amplified.
• The Response Capacities will also amplify the matching news type.

There’s an optional achievement you can get here, along with another one for completing it.

Achievement #20 – Top Critic: Aluba thrives under your critical eye.
You have to get Aluba Studios’ topic to hit the top 1 trending. I recommend doing this separately from the main objective. In fact just intentionally fail the main objective just so you don’t complete it by accident.
In any case, this one genuinely takes some RNG to deal with, as sometimes you might not get the required articles to make Aluba Studios hit the 1st place. I recommend once you have 1 round left (1h30m remaining), don’t bother and just restart. Or restart earlier if you’re certain you won’t be able to make it, since each round can only have up to one Aluba Studios article.

Achievement #21 – Winning Hand: Complete manipulating public opinion.
Once Sister Maria drops out of the Top 10 trending, you get this achievement.

We are not done with Chapter 3. Attempting to submit the information collection will give us an error, sending us back to the main screen. Answer Ashley’s call and she’ll explain. We’re going to hunt Van down. Save when prompted, they are NOT kidding about the length of the next segment.

First, we are to hack into Van’s system. We do this by attacking open ports. You’re given five starting positions and you are to trace them to the right locations. The paths the commands will take will always take the horizontal paths. With this information, you can trace each starting point to each end point, and match the commands. Here are the right commands.

Here, you can only read whatever’s in /home. Start with /Allivia/Secret_of_Allivia.doc for background lore.
Then, read /My Plan/Instructions_for_Immortal_Code.doc. Note how the letters are laid out in the Prophecies and the Interpretation. Basically, for each letter in the Prophecy, take the first letter of the string that letter represents and put it in the Interpretation. After going through each of the letters, go back through each letter in the Prophecy, but take the second letter for each string instead, and so on until you’ve exhausted each character in the strings. This is basically how the algorithm in /Titan/Titan’s_Conspiracy.doc works (Hello coding my old friend).
At the top of /Titan/Titan’s_Conspiracy.doc are the strings each letter in “Titan” represents. Go through them now.
The password is NarrowGateLeadethUntoLife. Input that password into /93511234 to access it.

Achievement #26 – Depths of Wisdom: Solve Van’s puzzle.
Doing so unlocks this achievement.

Alright, we’re breaking the fourth wall here. Yeah Van straight up called me by my Steam name (hi, it’s me, Coffee). So Van’s asking us if we see xCon$.prgd on our desktop.

Uhhhhh… I sure hope your desktop is cleaner than mine… It took me a while to find it (Commentary: The greys are covering uninteresting icons. Do try the games I left uncovered. Bonus points if you know the game this background comes from). Attempt to delete xCon$.prgd and it’ll return.
Van will suggest to use While True to get rid of it. That’s his cat. Drop xCon$.prgd onto the cat to advance.
Doing so will cause your system to “crash”. Don’t worry, it’s just a visual effect.
Van tells us that the file is relying on a random game to track you. He set up Sdeam for us to remove the game.

Achievement #27 – Uninstall Cyber Manhunt: This game is no fun.
Before you uninstall Cyber Manhunt 2 like you are supposed to, uninstall Cyber Manhunt 1 first. Make sure to do this part otherwise you’ll have to redo this sequence to get to this point again.

Once you uninstall Cyber Manhunt 2, we can safely shred xCon$.prgd by dropping it onto the cat again. But wait, there’s a backup plan! The code is just littered with backdoors. Van opened up Tisual code studio for you to get rid of the malicious code.
All you have to do is run through the code, picking out whatever malicious code the sniffer picks up, and dragging it into the correct slots in WT Crusher on the bottom right. The code lines are the following:

/”Immortality”/ANKH No.099.pdf gives us a plan to search the Abbey to locate Van. In the trial Ito did spot Van, so this makes sense.

/”Immortality”/Treatment Report.pdf gives us a detailed report of Lucrezia Borgia. This makes more sense if you played the DLC for the first game. It appears Lucrezia didn’t completely die in that car crash, but she’s basically brain dead. Something happened after Day 124, but we don’t know what. What did Dr Hook do…?
