Welcome to our gaming guide for Burgleville! In this article, we will provide a step-by-step walkthrough for completing the main story missions in the game. Follow along to learn how to successfully navigate through the challenges of Burgleville. Let’s get started!
Introduction
Warning: Lots of spoilers here! But this should be helpful if you get stuck.
A big part of Burgleville is figuring out how to solve the story missions. Some are straight-forward and obvious, some are like puzzles where you have to think outside of the box, some are more stealth based, and some are all about collecting things from the neighborhood, some are about making choices, and some are like a big game of search and find.
I’ll try to keep this somewhat chronological, as most missions can be taken in different orders depending on which characters you talk to, and most missions won’t unlock until prerequisite missions are completed first. Luckily, a character will always let you know when they have something new for you (look for the exclamation point by their head).
Before you get to the story missions, there are a few tasks to complete. Mostly meet-and-greet tasks.
Don’t miss the board on the left for a secret task.
Also, the guy in the upper left will add a task that requires you to go to a neighborhood and talk to one of his associates.
They’re the guys in the black cloaks. They have random tasks that differ every time you visit a neighborhood.
Soup’s On
The soup is located in the bottom aisle, right side.
If you’ve done all of the introduction tasks, you should have just enough to buy the soup. Some cans are more expensive than others. Otherwise, you can just steal it by walking out of the store. Watch out for the guards, though!
Note: Some missions give you the choice to be good or bad. If you choose the good option enough times, you may get an extra achievement at the end of the game (depending on which end mission you complete in the story branch).
Now bring the soup back to Bruno to complete this easy mission.
Soup’s Off
The onions are below the farmer in the crop field, the carrots are below the onions, the potatoes are to the right of the carrots, and the basil is above and to the right of the potatoes.
Now you need a bowl from the farm house. You can get one from the sink or from the cabinet. Put them all on the stove and close your backpack.
You should hear the sizzle as the soup cooks.
Check the stove again to get your soup. Bring it back to Bruno for your reward.
Growing Pains
The oranges are in the left house and the tangerines are in the right house.
There are six in each house (one in each room).
You can do this in any order, but for this guide, let’s start with the left house.
Search each room for an orange.
Once you have six of them, you’re ready to head over to the right house.
Now look through each room for tangerines.
Each time you find one, take it and put an orange back instead.
Now you should have six tangerines.
Put one in each room of the left house and talk to Lootbox to complete this mission.
Note: If you have gained enough experience to get to level 2, then you have a skill point to spend. I recommend starting with lockpicking. You need at least 1 point to even have a chance to pick a lock. You could also go for strength if you like to loot houses in the neighborhoods.
Is it Safe?
So let’s travel to the trap house.
Warning: This mission has a few surprises that will be spoiled by this guide. Continue reading if you’re okay with that.
Uh oh! Someone doesn’t want you here and has set traps all over the place.
The first trap is water. Just water. But we all know video game characters can’t swim!
Luckily, there’s a shallow path through the water if you start a little below the bridge. You will have to zig-zag a bit to get through it.
Now there are lots of fun things to see on the way to the next room, and signs enticing you to try them. But guess what… they’re all traps! You’ll be sent back to the beginning of the mission if you touch anything. So skip them all, even the chest at the end.
Now you have some quicksand traps to avoid. It looks like there’s no way around it. So let’s see what happens when you fall into a quicksand trap.
Oh… they’re fake!
You can walk right over them to get to the next room. Which looks like a dead end. But why is that one desk a bit off?
It’s hiding a secret passage! Which leads us to three locked doors. Hope you added a skill point to lockpicking.
Actually, they’re all unlocked. So we proceed to the throne room. But the safe is not there! You may notice the mirror on the wall.
Yes, it’s another secret passage. And now we finally come to the safe.
Only to find that it’s empty.
But now someone else is here.
Talk to them and an exit will appear.
Back at the Guild, you can talk to The Boss about what just happened.
And this will open up more dialogue options with the other faction members.
Talking to them will reveal four more factions! You have new places to visit, and new people to meet at each one.
Now the game opens up and you can do things in different orders, leading to different story paths. You have completed four story missions, but there are over 100 total missions in the game and they get more unusual as the game progresses.
If you’re playing the demo, there’s not much else to do but visit the neighborhood a few more times to loot houses and donate items to the museum.
(This guide will be updated after the full game is released)
