Blagmoz: Character Unlock Guide

These guide includes every unlockable character in Blagmoz, as well as the unlock criteria for each (including those not shown by the game before unlocking, although hidden behind spoilers). I also added an explanation for the more obscure or harder ones.

Keep in mind that most characters do unlock organically through playing the game, so maybe play for a bit before consulting the guide. There’s also a hint section, in case you don’t want to spoil the appearance and the exact unlock criteria, but need a hand with some of the characters.

This section is mainly for those who want to try figuring out the unlocks by themselves, but feel stuck and need a little hand. If you’d rather know the exact criteria to unlock the characters, go to the next section.

This table features each character’s name (covered by spoiler tags), their position in the Progress Log (row, column), and a hint to help in their unlock (also covered by spoiler tags).
Note: The character in row 3 column 4 is not shown in the Progress Log unless it’s already unlocked or you’re playing during Christmoz. If this applies to you, the character in row 3 column 5 takes its place in the Log.

Now for those who want the exact unlock method for every single character. I also included an image of every character’s portrait in the Progress Log, in case you wanna see their appearance.

Unlock criteria: Win the game as a frog.
All you need to know is that the frog’s tongue can be used to move and also kill other players. If you’d rather force the unlock, you can take a Hexing Concoction through the levels and drink it in the last screen right before winning.

Unlock criteria: Escape Doom 5 times.
To avoid death from the Potion of Doom, you can either kill another player or win the match before the effect triggers.

Unlock criteria: Sacrifice a skeleton from a chest.
Explanation: A skeleton corpse can rarely drop from chests. Simply carry it to an altar and drop it there to get the character.

Unlock criteria: Bring a total of 100 orbs to the moon.
Explanation: Every time you win, your streak is added to the orbs brought to the moon. So if you finish a game 10 times with a streak of 10, you’ll get that unlock.

Unlock criteria: Win a game with a bubble shield.

Unlock criteria: Win 5 games. Alternatively, finish the tutorial without dying.
Explanation: Uniquely, Keeper has an alternate unlock criteria, not shown in the Progress Log. Right at the end of the tutorial, after drinking the Potion of Doom, you can offer one of the potions from the Golden Chest at the altar, and then drink the Potion of Cleansing created. Doing so will trigger unique dialogue, let you finish the tutorial without dying, and will also unlock The Keeper.
Note that, even if you unlock Keeper using this method, the Progress Log will only show “Win 5 games” as his unlock criteria.

Unlock criteria: Dance for 2 minutes total.

Unlock criteria: Get 250 shotgun kills.

Unlock criteria: Play a game during Christmoz.
Explanation: Unlike the rest of the unlockable characters, Slushy’s locked icon will not show up outside of Christmoz. As of 2023, Christmoz lasted from December 27th to January 31st.

Unlock criteria: Reach a streak of 22.
Explanation: Probably the hardest character to unlock playing casually. You increase streaks through getting kills, and also with sacrifices at the altar. If you want to force the unlock, it’s convenient to set up a long match with 4 players and maximize altar use.
