Introduction
While each of the games had some challenges to offer, Bioshock infinite no doubt was by far the hardest one to 100% complete.
In this guide i am not going to cover all achievements and how to get them since there are beautifully written guides out there.

In this guide i want to share the strategy that not only helped me to 100% complete the game, but also saved my sanity.
1999 and blue ribbon strategy
Personally for me, the hardest parts of the game was the following 3 achievements:
Scavenger Hunt
Complete the game in 1999 Mode without purchasing anything from a Dollar Bill vending machine.
Blue Ribbon Champ
In CitC, completed all Blue Ribbon Challenges.
Auld Lang Syne
Completed the game in 1999 Mode.
In 1999 Mode, the most difficult sections of the game are the infamous battles against Lady Comstock (you’ll face her three times) and the final showdown, where you must defend the Siphon on the ship deck for an extended period of time.
As for the Blue Ribbon Challenge, the toughest waves are the ones that involve fighting two Handymen at once in the Emporia Arcade (Wave 5 and Wave 11).
However, with the following build, these challenges become trivial, making even the hardest fights a breeze.
We would need to use the the “Charge” ability with both upgrades – “Charge boost” which adds explosive damage and most important part – “Charge Aid” which is absolutely overpowered since its fully recharge the shield and gives us brief immunity to all damage.
Now talking about gear, for Blue ribbon challenge:
Hat – Burning Halo – 70% chance to set enemy ablaze on melee hit and victim takes 300 damage over 4 seconds.
Chest – Bullet Boon – +50% clip size
Pants – Brittle skinned – Makes melee targets vulnerable and victims takes 2x damage for the next 5 seconds.
Boots – Tunnel Vision – Increase aiming damage by 25%.\
For 1999 mode , especially for the last battle we can replace Bullet Boon with “Winter shield” which will grant us another invulnerability when jump on and off the Sky-Line.
For weapon – up to your taste. I prefer to use “Hand Cannon” and “Shotgun”
Rotation in nutshell:
Use charge into the enemy (immediately restore shield if broken, gain brief immune) and deal explosive damage with ability + 300 damage from gear. As well we apply vulnerability to the enemy causing him to take 2x damage. After that we simply using aim button (“Z” on default settings) and do few shots with shotgun or hand cannon or any other weapon. The best part of this is the fact that immunity duration is pretty much same as charge cool down. Therefore we can use it non-stop as long as we have enough “salts” and stay completely immune to any damage, at the same time dealing massive damage to the enemy.
That way i totally destroyed the Siren (Lady Comstock) in a matter of seconds without taken any damage. The same applied to the Handymans in the CitC. You can easily wear them down using this build and then complete the challenges, using charge as a shield if needed.
Good Luck!
