Welcome to our guide for Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky DX! In this guide, we have compiled a list of all the primary and optional assignments you will encounter in the game, along with helpful tips and resources to assist you. Be sure to refer to the document locations provided for easy reference. Let’s get started on achieving 100% completion for your term assignment!
Intro + Assignment Basics
- A term is 4 in-game months. Once a term has passed, you cannot complete or report any assignments you haven’t finished for a veeeeery long time, so you must do them within the same term. This also applies to any requests you’ve currently accepted.
- Once there are 15 days remaining in the term, you can choose to submit your final report anytime in those 15 days. When you do this, the next term will immediately start up. If you’ve completed all of the current term’s assignments, then you can potentially have up to 15 extra days for the upcoming term, which gives you more time to do whatever you need. Be careful though, you can’t change your mind once you submit your final report, and there’s no going back.
- You have a “Primary” assignment that you must complete to progress the story; It’s the one in the middle of the board. The 8 assignments surrounding it are what I call “Bingo Assignments“, as you’ll earn a reward of some kind when you make a line. A maximum of 8 lines can be made to obtain all rewards. The outermost assignments past the Bingo ones are the remainder of the optional assignments to complete; we’ll call them “Small Assignments“. Their completion requirements will be hidden until you’ve completed all your Primary + Bingo assignments, then they will all be revealed.
- Despite being hidden, you can still complete most Small Assignments without having their details revealed if you know what to do. However, certain Small Assignments flat out won’t be activated until all Primary + Bingo ones are finished, such as the ones where you give items to NPCs.
Year 4 Cleanup
When you submit your final report for Term 9 (Deadline for that is Y3, 3/30), your final objective will be to investigate the unexplored ruins, and you’ll have an entire year to do it. During this year, you can complete any assignment from any previous term that you might’ve missed (Including Term 9). While this is a rather generous safety net, you’ll still want to be as diligent as possible in completing as many assignments as you can, because going to and from multiple areas will eat up a lot of time before you even know it, not to mention the numerous amount of synthesis you’ll be doing.
Also, during this period, You can only work on a single term’s assignments at any given time; you won’t be able to progress any other term’s assignments. You CAN change what term you wanna work on at any time by talking to Marion though, so you have that.
Also, 3 of the 4 Small assignments for Term 9 that were originally hidden will now be revealed to you, as those are specific to the Unexplored Ruins.
The Passage of Time
Thankfully, it’s very simple. In the vast majority of cases, these are the ONLY actions that cause time to move forward:
- Synthesizing an item; The amount of days it takes will be shown on the recipe list
- Gathering or Battling in a gathering area; moving around in them does not count
- Your entire party is KO’d from losing a battle
- Choosing to rest at the Atelier for however many days you select
- Travelling across the World Map; when you select an area, it will tell you how many days it’ll take to arrive there.
Important distinction: Time will NOT pass when travelling across Area Maps and Colseit itself. Gathering in Colseit also won’t make time pass.
Essential Info
- Assuming you’ve done all important sidequests such as building the Dreadnaught, The game will end at the end of Year 4, which is Y4 3/31, so plan your time accordingly
- When you reach a certain point in the main story, you’ll obtain the Dismantler/Disassembler in the Atelier. The purpose of this item is that it gives you the ability to dismantle relics you find via Relic Search in gathering areas. Thing is, this one little detail is easy to miss: You can ONLY dismantle relics when you’re prompted to do so when you return to the Atelier. If you picked up any relics and return to Colseit, you’ll be asked if you want to dismantle the relics you found. If you say no, you lost your opportunity to dismantle them permanately. I’m mentioning this because dismantling is required for certain Assignments, so keep that in mind.
- You know the research topics you can get from Marion? Research anything that reduces gathering/travel time ASAP, it’s priority #1. Both gathering and traveling between areas eat up a LOT of time in the beginning of the game, and the days will pass in the blink of an eye. Researching these topics are borderline required for completing future assignments in a timely manner.
- To further reduce your travel time, synthesize the “Heavenly Spirits” item as soon as humanly possible. This item immediately returns you to the Atelier when you’re in a gathering area. As you can surmise, this will not cost you any extra time if you’re ready to return to Colseit, and will essentially cut your travel time in half when you don’t need to trek back to town. Especially useful when you’re travelling to very far areas like Searing Wasteland.
- Get ALL Reference Books. More often than not, for every new term there will be new Reference Books to purchase from Nio, Katla, and/or Duke in Colseit. It costs a pretty penny, but it’s necessary because they will likely contain recipes you need, or they’ll contribute to later term assignments. You can also earn reference books from Bingo Line rewards, or finding them in a treasure chest in a gathering area. Search everywhere you can and don’t leave any stone unturned.
- It’s easy to overlook this, but you get fined every month for using items. You can see this in your monthly funds report whenever you’re at the atelier. The amount of cole taken from your funds depend on the alchemy level of the item and how much you used it. It’s not a huge amount of money, but it can add up. Take care to use items when you feel that regular skills just won’t cut it, or you’re running low on MP. That being said, It’s always most important to get as much done as possible when travelling, so don’t be afraid to use them.
- For assignments, the game will often reference “search equipment”. These are the consumable items that Escha & Logy can equip from “Adventure Equip” in the main menu. So whenever “Search” or “Adventure” equipment is referenced, that’s what those are.
- Your “Adventurer Level” is your selected protagonists’ player level when fighting enemies. Your “Alchemy Level” is obviously your level when synthesizing. When there’s an assignment that asks you to reach a certain Adventurer Level, that’s specifically referring to your selected protag (Escha or Logy). For Alchemy Level, there’s no difference in level between Escha and Logy as both share the exact same level and skills.
- Just like any other Atelier, you get a large EXP bonus when synthesizing an item for the first time, so it’s in your best interest to try and make everything at least once. Not only that, but there’s an assignment in Term 9 that will require you to have created hundreds of unique items, so don’t skimp out on this. Try to make new items when you have the time to do so.
- Speaking of that, the Bingo Line rewards that say “Hero’s [Stat] Increases by X”, that’s once again just for your selected protag, not both Escha and Logy.
Assignment Categories
Grind – Anything that requires doing a very basic action over and over, such as leveling up or hitting an arbitrary number of something. I made this a category because you can easily multitask doing these while you do other, more specific tasks.
Request – Anything involving completing requests from Solle
Shopping – Anything involving spending money to buy something, typically a Reference Book
Synthesis – Anything that requires you to synthesize an item or making a specific item
Explore – Anything involving having to find/look around a specific area, or accessing a certain area.
Search – Anything involving using Field Search
Gathering – Anything involving gathering items in the field
Combat – Anything involving having to fight enemies
And there’s a couple specific terms I coined here for more specific stuff:
Carryover – This means your progress towards this assignment is tracked across the entire game, and if you already completed the criteria in a previous term, it will automatically be finished when you get to the term the assignment is in.
Items – This means you gotta use a specific item either in a gathering area or combat
Special – A “Special” assignment means that a very specific event will take place on that term. More often than not, this is fighting a strong enemy in a specific sub-area
Deliver – Giving a specific item(s) to an NPC
Mix n’ Match – Much like the deliver quests, some assignments will ask you to deliver certain items to an NPC until the gauge is full. In most cases, you are given the option to deliver multiple things which will fill up the gauge more or less. Mix n’ Match means you can deliver multiple categories, and don’t need to subject yourself to just one or the other (Such as having the option to donate either 5 taun or 2 trio taun, you can do both). The less of an item you need to donate, the more of the gauge it fills up.
Field Search Terminology
- When you gather or battle enemies, the Field Search gauge in the top left will increase. Gathering will fill the gauge by 25%, and winning a battle will fill the gauge by 30% (There is also an Alchemy item that can increase it). Once the gauge reaches 100%, you can activate a Field Search. You can store the gauge up to 200%, but if you gather/battle when the gauge is already maxed out, you won’t earn any more.
- The gauge will remain as-is when you move between sub-areas, as well as the current Field Change (explained below). However, when you’re at the Area Map and choose to return to the World Map, the gauge will reset back to 0%, and the current Field Change will be deactivated.
- While I don’t have specific details on this, I’ve noticed that the 3 search icons you can choose from are not as random as they may seem. Each sub-area will include a handful of searches, and will exclude others. For example, let’s say Area 1 has “Collection Sharing” but not “Relic Search”; Area 2 however has “Relic Search” but not “Collection Sharing”. This will never change, so it just cycles through the options each area has by default.
Collection Sharing (Plant Icon) – Automatically gather a significant number of materials unique to the sub-area you’re in. Choose “Number” to get a greater number of Lv 1 materials (Weaker traits and Common Materials), or choose “Rare” to get a lesser amount of Lv 3 materials (Stronger traits and Uncommon/Rare Materials).
Relic Search (Pot Icon) – Choose from 1 of 3 “Relics” which are actually just items that can be made from Synthesis with pre-determined effects and traits. Relics are unique to each area. Once you obtain the dismantler in the Atelier, you can choose to dismantle relics you’ve gotten, and you will learn the recipe for things you don’t already know.
Strong Foe Search (Paw Icon) – Spawn and battle a high-level (Relative to that area) enemy. You can choose 1 of 3 enemies presented to you, each one stronger than the last. These are unique enemies that can’t be found anywhere else.
Document Search (Scroll Icon) – Discover a special document. If there is a document to be found in a sub-area, the icon will always appear. These don’t do anything for the majority of the game, but you’ll need 5 of them for an assignment in Term 4, and all 20 of them for a specific assignment in Term 9. All 20 Documents are in very specific sub-areas.
The following field searches are known as “Field Changes”, they all use the same icon, but manipulate the environment in various ways. Only one change can be active at a time, and activating a new change will replace the older one. The change will be deactivated when you return to the world map.
Relic Change – Potentially find higher quality relics with better traits and effects
Land Change – Potentially find stronger, more dangerous enemies when using Strong Foe Search
Collection Change – Gather 3 materials at a gathering point instead of 1
Rare Materials – Gather Lv3 materials instead of Lv1, and have a higher chance of obtaining rare materials
Battle Change – Gain more EXP from combat encounters
Synthesis Skill/Alchemy Basics + Terminology
– When synthesizing, every material costs a certain amount of CP depending on how powerful it is; Protip: An item’s CP cost is it’s Alchemy Level. When you add the materials, you need to make sure you have a sufficient amount of CP to be able to add them all. If you go over the CP limit when adding a material, the Attribute Value and element points of that and all subsequent materials will NOT apply. To gain more CP, you can either level up, use certain Synthesis Skills/Properties, or Research topics from Marion to add more.
– PP is the points you spend to apply Properties to your final item. Up to 3 properties can be put on a single item, but you need to have enough PP to apply them all. As you might have guessed, more powerful properties will cost more PP. Make sure you plan ahead and know your limits on what you can apply so you don’t waste good materials. You can preview the PP cost of every potential Property on your current session by pressing RB/R1 on the material adding page. Also, just like with CP, you can add more PP by either leveraging certain Properties or researching from Marion.
– Attribute Value are the points that are assigned to the final item’s elemental gauges. You might notice a black line on each gauge, and that determines what the final trait will be for the item. I should stress that this only matters for Attack + Heal Items, Accessories, Weapons, Armor, and very few Alchemy items; Ingredients and (most) Alchemy items do not matter in the slightest.
Depending on the item you make, this number is extremely important. Sometimes it may just be stat buffs, but in other cases like with certain Attack/Heal items, you can potentially greatly diminish the effectiveness of your item… or you could even give your item a NEGATIVE status effect that hurts you. Try your best to make your items as best you can.
Also, each item you make will have 5 fixed properties that will automatically be available to apply to the final item if you so choose. You need to meet the Attribute Value quota listed on the bottom right. Later-game items will require much more. You can check the properties by pressing RB/R1.
Now for Synthesis Skills.
As your alchemy level increases, Escha and Logy will periodically gain new skills they can use called “Synthesis Skills”. These can be activated at any time at the section where you add the materials before you finalize the item you’re making. Each material has an element(s) associated with it, and will give you points of said element; Please note you can only hold up to 5 points of each element at once, and any extra points used when the slots are already full will be wasted. If a material has “[Element] Bonus x2-x5” as an effect, that means it will give you the amount of points the number says of that element instead of just one.
These are all the Synthesis Skills separated by element.
Disclaimer: I’ll be lumping together multiple variations/tiers of the same exact skill if applicable. Just be aware that each are their own individual skill you can select; and for ALL skills, you can only use them a single time in a given session.
You can also stack the same skill multiple times using the different tiers (Such as using CP Recovery 3, then CP Recovery 2 to gain 75CP in total.
CP Recovery 1, 2, and 3 (Cost: 1-3 Points) – Add 10, 25, or 50 CP to your remaining amount; you can go above your max CP cap with this skill
Power +1 and +2 (Cost: 3 or 5 Points) – Select a material, and it will double (+1) or triple (+2) the Attribute Value number of that material; you need to apply this skill to the selected material first before you add it. However, this skill will still apply if you’ve already used the material AND can select it again via Division/Perfect Division.
Draw Property (Cost: 2 Points) – Automatically add +1 to the item’s property level, meaning you don’t need to reach the Attribute Value quota for the next property. If you already have all 5 properties unlocked, this skill does nothing.
Conversion 1, 2, and 3 (Cost: 1-3 Points) – Trade losing 1, 2, or 3 Water Points to gain said points on any other element of your choosing
Crafting Help 1, 2, and 3 (Cost: 1-3 Points) – Select a material, and the CP cost for it will be reduced by 50%, 75%, or flat out cost 0 CP.
Division and Perfect Division (Cost: 2 or 4 Points) – You can pick a material you’ve already placed down and use it again. With Division, you need to pay the CP cost for that material again. With Perfect Division, the CP cost will be waived, so you can add it again for free.
Compression (Cost: 3 Points) – Reduce the Synthesis time by 1 day, and the amount of equip slots on Search/Adventure Items will be reduced by 1. Both Days and Equip Slots can’t go below 1, so this skill is useless if the item takes 1 day to synthesize and has 1 slot by default.
Reset Attribute (Cost: 1 Point) – Choose an element’s Attribute Value gauge on the final item, and reduce the selected element’s number to 0. In exchange, the Attribute Value gauge of the other 3 elements will be increased by a certain amount depending on the selected element’s number
Absorb Attribute 1 and 2 (Cost: 1 or 3 Points) – Reduce either 20% or 50% each of all element’s Attribute Value gauge and use that to raise the final item’s Effect Value; Only really useful for Ingredient/Alchemy items.
Effect +1, +2, and +3 (Cost: 1-3 Points) – Increase the Effect Value of the final item by 5, 10, or 25.
Quantity 1 and 2 (Cost: 3 or 5 Points) – For most items, produce either 1 or 2 extra copies of the final item (such as going from 1 accessory to having 1 or 2 extra duplicates). For Search/Adventure items, those will instead get either 1 or 2 extra uses, such as a Bomb having 3 uses by default, but you can increase it to 4 or 5 with this skill. You will NOT get extra copies/duplicates of these.
Note: These skills will require you to have points for all elements to be able to use them.
Strengthen Material (Cost: 1 Point All Elements) – Select a material, and increase it’s Attribute Value by 100% and the Effect Value by 25. Just like with Power +1/2, you need to use this skill before you apply the selected material; but you can use it on a material you already selected if you use Division/Perfect Division. This skill also stacks the Attribute Value number with Power +1/2.
Full Power (Cost: 2 Points All Elements) – Increase all element’s Attribute Value gauge of the final item by 50%, and increase the Effect Value by 50

Survey Team’s Visit – (Deliver, Mix n’ Match) Donate either 4 “Canned Food” or 30 “Food” category items to the Homonculus in the Development Office.
You’ll get the Canned Food recipe when you start this term; it’s best if you go for that.
Env. Researcher – (Grind, Carryover) Visit 68 unique sub-areas in total
Warehouse Keeper – (Grind, Carryover) Recieve 100 snacks in total from completing Solle’s Requests
Disassembly Mania – (Grind, Carryover) Dismantle a total of 20 relics.
Remember to dismantle across the game, as your total count will carry over in this term. If you need a reminder: When you find a relic using Relic Search out in the field, you’ll be given the option to dismantle them when you return to the Atelier. If you select “No” when the prompt appears, you lost your chance. Take care not to button mash.
Researcher Knowledge – (Shopping, Carryover) Research 20 topics/experiments total from Marion
If you’ve been responsible with your spending, you should have a good number of research topics by now. At this point in the game you should have more than enough money to get more if you don’t already have 20 things researched.
Storage Expert – (Synthesis) Enter a gathering area with 50 total search/adventure items equipped from both Escha and Logy, then return to the Atelier.
Escha and Logy both have a maximum of 25 slots each for adventure items, so yes, you need to have 50 individual attack/heal/adventure items that take up only 1 square. I strongly encourage you to slowly chip away at this as you progress through the game. You can either get Homonculi to duplicate for you, synthesize items yourself, or obtain Healing Salve and Curing Powder relics in the Upland Forest area, as those are guaranteed to have 1 square every time.
Veteran – (Search, Combat, Carryover) Defeat 50 total enemies that spawn from the “Strong Enemy” Field Search
Once again, something you can slowly chip away at across the game. Also, this DOES count the mob enemies that spawn alongside the strong foe, so you won’t actually have to do this 50 different times. You can also just abuse the weakest strong enemies in Twilight Forest once you feel you can comfortably defeat them with no issue.
Alchemist Combination – (Combat) Use “Double Draw” 5 times in battle
Escha and Logy will eventually get a special skill where they’ll both use an attack item in the same turn. Double Draw is a Support Link attack that can be activated after the first alchemist starts their attack animation; you’ll see the “Double Draw” prompt on Escha or Logy. Double draw consumes 2 uses of said item, so make sure you have enough.
Ultimate Attack Use – (Combat) Use Ultimate/Special skills 5 times
Everybody except for Escha & Logy has an ultimate attack they can perform when their gauge reaches 100%. The fastest way to fill up the gauge is using skills that target all enemies/allies, because the gauge fills up more and more with each enemy/ally affected. Skills such as the majority of Linca’s are great for this.
Legendary Investigator – (Grind, Carryover) Reach Adventurer Level 50
If you find yourself needing to hardcore grind last minute, then activate the “Battle Change” search and take out the strongest Strong Foes from “Strong Search” as you can muster.
Legendary Alchemist – (Grind, Carryover) Reach Alchemy Level 50.
Buy all the reference books. Get all the synthesis EXP Upgrades. Make every item at least once.
Candy Maker – (Grind, Carryover) Give the Homonculi in the Admin Office 100 snacks total
Comp. Investigation – (Grind, Carryover) Complete 200 Assignments in total
Walking Dictionary – (Grind, Carryover) Obtain 300 total entries in the Journal
The actual in-game description says to “read” 300 entries, but I think all you need to do is get 300 different pieces of info that the Journal logs. This could be recipes, traits, properties, monsters, materials, you name it. Just find and interact with a lot of stuff. You should get this naturally.
Effect Specialist – (Grind, Carryover) Have 100 different Effects logged in the Journal
This should come naturally as you synthesize. Anything that has a “??????” label means you haven’t unlocked that effect yet.
Small Creator – (Synthesis, Carryover) Synthesize 200 unique items in total.
Once again, buy ALL the reference books and find any recipe you’re able. Be very diligent about making every single item at least once when you have the time to do so.
Document Collector – (Search, Carryover) Obtain all 20 documents in the world using “Document Search”
There is a separate section in this guide that will tell you all the document locations; please refer to that if you are missing some.
Total Damage – (Combat, Carryover) Deal a cumulative total of 99,999 damage that’s sourced from Support Link attacks.
You’ll want to upgrade your gear as best you can so you can squeeze out all the damage you’re able. It’s possible you might not have obtained this yet by the time you get to this term, so try to make the longest link chains you can.
Monster Leader – (Combat, Carryover) Defeat 60 unique enemies in total
Try and fight every normal monster you encounter in the area, as well as fighting strong foes using the Strong Foe search. Those guys are unique and don’t appear anywhere else unless you spawn them, and each area has different strong foes. Bosses and Special Enemies spawned from previous Small Assignments count towards this as well.
Observer of Combat – (Combat, Carryover) Have a cumulative total of 100 unique skills used by both allies and enemies.
By “Skills”, I’m pretty sure the game means literally any offensive action an ally or enemy does, including basic attacks, normal skills, chain skills, ultimates, and so on. The wording on the description is very vauge, but I assume they need to be used at least one time in battle to count. Either that, or 100 skills need to be logged in the Journal.
Tool Wisdom – (Combat, Items, Carryover) Use 60 unique items in battle at least once
(Protip: Press the Select button when hovering over this assignment, and the game will tell you what items you haven’t used yet; this only tracks recipes you’ve learned) When you get a new heal, support, or attack item, bring it with you and use it at least once, because you don’t want to have your inventory overstuffed with items you won’t be using and rotating them out at this point. You need all the time you can get.
NOTE: The following assignments will be hidden and locked off until you’re able to access the Unexplored Ruins. If you haven’t already completed the Dreadnaught sidequest yet, do it right now. On top of that, you need to have gone through Lucille’s questline to unlock the “Ends of the Earth” area which these assignments require you to go to. Keep her in the party as much as you can to raise her friendship level.
Legendary Panacea – (Search) Disassemble an “Elixr Source” relic
Limits Giant Slag – (Combat, Special) Defeat the “Dreadnaught” enemy at the Ends of the Earth
Child of Disaster – (Combat, Special) Defeat the “Child of Disaster” enemy at the Ends of the Earth
This last assignment only unlocks when you view a certain event scene from Duke.
Beat UltimateDragon – (Combat, Special) Defeat Altegevalt in the Dragon’s Nest area (Warning: Tough fight ahead, be prepared)
