Just Play
– You’ll eventually get this one while playing, some achievements will take much more than 6 hours to get.
Upgrades and Skills
Side Note: I got some issues with these ones. I strongly recommend you to buy the upgrade that should trigger the achievement (the last upgrade/skill you have left, not yet unlocked) while in the game title’s shop (screenshot below), in order to prevent you from getting the same bug I had, where the achievements just didn’t trigger and I had to start all over in another save file only for this achievement.
❀ Invincible (Attack upgraded to the max)
– Upgrade the Steel Arm to level 4
❀ Very Strong (Health upgraded to the max)
– Upgrade the Green Crystal to level 5
❀ King of the Gun (Gun arm upgraded to the max)
– Upgrade the Gun Arm to level 5
❀ Ultimate Energy (Skill point upgraded to the max)
– Upgrade the Blue Crystal to level 5
❀ Big Tin (Energy slot upgraded to the max)
– Upgrade the Energy Storage to level 5
❀ Final Warrior (All parts upgraded)
– Have the Purple Crystal on level 3, as well as all the other upgrades listed above. I don’t know if you must have the Blade Arm and the Will Necklace for this achievement, but even if you do need, they are pretty cheap and you wanna buy both as fast as possible, since they are quite helpful, especially the Blade.
❀ Skill King (Learned all skills)
– Learn all the skills in the skill up list, will cost you 30200 Exp.
Combos
❀ 1-Star Combo (get 60 hits in a single combo)
❀ 3-Star Combo (get 150 hits in a single combo)
❀ 5-Star Combo (get 350 hits in a single combo)
– Example. No. B-II will defend as long as you keep atacking him, he won’t die, so you can stay like that until you get the achievement.
Just Defense
It’s a very important tool since it helps recover LP and SP, while also being relevant when aiming S ranks, because it counts toward your rank at the end of the stage, the more you Just Defend, the better.
You’re also gonna need it a lot in Survival Mode since items are very limited. Start by Just Defending bullets, in order to grasp the timing.
Example Below
❀ Defense Expert (Just Defend 10 times)
❀ Defense Master (Just Defend 100 times)
❀ God of Defense (Just Defend 1000 times)
Killing Enemies
– I suggest you play and don’t mind this one until you got all the other achievements. Your best option to kill enemies is the survival mode, pick on a good podcast, and good luck.
❀ Basic Revenger (Kill 500 enemies)
❀ Advanced Revenger (Kill 5000 enemies)
❀ Epic Revenger (Kill 50000 enemies)
Beating the Game & Boss Tips
❀ Steel Assassin (Beat the game at easy mode)
❀ Steel Striker (Beat the game at normal mode)
❀ Steel Punisher (Beat the game at hard mode)
❀ Steel Terminator (Beat the game at expert mode)
❀ Steel Warrior (Beat the game under all difficulties)
S RANKing
– In order to achieve S rank you must go very well in some aspects of the run, you can see at the end of the stage how well you went (Screenshot below):
Main things you must consider:
– Not getting hit
– Finish the stage as fast as possible
– Do not buy items
– Do as much combos as you can
– Just Defend whenever possible
– Break 100% of objects.
❀ Fight Expert (Got rank S in any stage)
❀ Fight Master (Got rank SS in any stage)
❀ God of Fight (Got rank SSS in any stage)
– Just do it in stage 1 (or any other short stage, with few things that could go wrong)
– Then, you have left the actual hard part of the story mode, achieving at least S rank in all stages and difficulties. Below you’ll find some tips, and videos, to help you through the boss stages, which I consider to be the actual harder part of S ranking the stages.
❀ Star (Got rank S in all stages – Easy Mode)
❀ Tank (Got rank S in all stages – Normal Mode)
❀ Sun (Got rank S in all stages – Hard Mode)
❀ King (Got rank S in all stages – Easy Mode)
Stage 4 – Submarine
Fat Bob
– Wait for him to get “tired”, then attack. You can Just Defend his bullets to recover some Hp, but keep in mind you must roll right after otherwise you get hit.
Stage 4 – Video (Exp mode. SSS run).
Tip: TURN THE SOUND OFF. I’m sorry.
– Note that Sonic Tiger is a good source of damage, but only with no other enemies around.
Stage 8 – Robot Workshop
– Make sure you broke all objects.
No. B-II
– Wait for him to attack, you dodge, then hit him from the back, or Just Defend and hit him right after.
– If you are near enough he’ll come with a sequence of punches that start pretty fast, so always keep some distance.
– In order for him to not just walking to you, there’s this trick: you pause the game and wait for him to (while paused) start some of his moves, either the bullets or the “Rush Attack”, his animation will suddenly change, then you’ll know right away what he’s going to do, just unpause the game and proceed to dodge/defend (Not shown in the video below).
Stage 8 – Video (Exp mode. S run).
– Sonic Tiger could be a good source of damage, but it’s not good while the screen is filled with other enemies, it has bad combo potential as well.
– I think Meteoric Rising Dragon is one of the best moves, not only here but in most situations due to its damage and flexibility, throwing the enemies into the air, getting invincibility frames and canceling most of their attack animations, and also putting you in a good position to Swoop Kick (air – Down+J) or just evade, and while being in the air most enemies won’t be able to bother you.
– In the video I use Berserk when I got hit, it is due to his damage output, which would probably kill the run.
– You can kill him very fast through Support Skills.
Stage 10 – Recycling Plant
– Good thing to have in mind, the enemies before the boss fight should give you some SP, which is limited during the boss fight and buying SP from the shop will reduce your chances of getting S rank, therefore you may find the Gun quite useful here.
TX3000
– Get rid of the small fries first, they can ruin the run.
– You can do 2 things here (there are lots of other strategies though):
— Lure the boss into shooting at you, then dodge his bullets and use Meteoric Rising Dragon followed by Swoop Kick or whichever attack combination you find out to be a good source of damage.
— Keep using Rising Dragon and dodging [defense + dash] through him (my strategy). Since he takes two decades to turn around, you can land and Rising Dragon again, repeating the process all the way.
Stage 10 – Video (Exp mode. SSS run).
I don’t get what happened in the first 10 seconds, regarding those bullets (kekw).
– You can also use support characters here, makes it even faster.
Stage 14 – Steam Airship
Last Stage – Video (Exp mode. S run).
– The wise use of the gun garantees you won’t finish filling your SP bar at the wrong time, and helps you get to the boss fight with some SP left, so you can use Skills and Support Characters.
– Get rid of enemies slowly as you navigate through the stage, not getting hit will be very important to achieve S rank; use the gun to get a 50 hits combo; make sure you Just Defend some times, as you see in the video my Run was quite far from perfect, and I still got S ranked.
– In the Boss Fight, after you kill most enemies that firstly spawned on screen, make sure you leave one enemy alive, other enemies will not spawn as long as there is one still alive, this wasn’t properly done in the recorded run, but it’s quite helpful.
– If you are very low on LP after defeating the boss, and did all the other stuff properly (e.g. Just Defended, Didn’t Die and didn’t get hit that many times, 50+ hit Combo…) it may be worth to buy a healing item right before the results, because having max LP at the end may be more valuable than not having bought any item (I ranked S once, in this stage, doing this – screenshot below).
Survival
❀ Fight to the End (Survive 10 rounds)
❀ Fortitude (Survive 100 rounds)
❀ Unremitting (Survive 300)
Here follows some tips for survival mode:
– Have all skills unlocked.
– Gather EXP to buy items while in survival mode, at least 30 thousand EXP (I don’t really know KEKW), because items get expensiver as you buy them.
— A good place to gather EXP is the elevator stage (Expert).
— The most valuable item in the shop is the Sword 4, you always buy it, when it breaks you buy it again right away, not only you kill enemies way faster, but your skills will get way better (statistically speaking), the most notable difference is their hitbox and the hitstun of some of your skills. The sword makes neutral K both on ground and in the air way stronger, making it an usable move, as opposed to it’s normal (non sword) counterpart.
— Life is a good item, but since it gets quite expensive with time, avoid buying at the lower floors, since you can recover Life from Just Defending enemies’ attacks (more below).
– Know an optimal way of defeating all types of enemies (Finish all stages in expert mode, with at least rank S first [another achievement by the way], so you probably learned your way around any enemy at this point, but some tips are:
— For basic enemies, usually using Dash+K to knock most enemies on screen is good, so you can focus on the troublesome ones first
— Your best skills are Down+J while in the air, the angle is amazing and does a lot of hit stun, it’s a very good approach tool; Dash+J does a lot of damage, but it’s high commitment so I’d advise not to use against big groups of enemies; Dash+Forward+K (Meteoric Rising Dragon) is a very good source of damage, and dodges enemies on the ground.
– Abuse “Just Defend”, Just Defending gives you Life Points, so you don’t have to always buy healing items when you’re low on LP.
— You only buy healing when you’re in a situation you’re probably dying from if you don’t immediately heal.
— Some enemies have very easy attack patterns, making it very easy to recover Hp from them, notably the stage 8 boss (No. B-II) is a very good source of Hp, his bullets are easy to defend, and so is his “rush attack”. You must be able to just defend bullets at will, and the slower attacks with ease, after you get used to it, the game gets quite easier.
– Use Evasion. If you’re surrounded, the best option is to not get hit, so you always stop attacking and I+L (defend+dash) to roll out, then approach again with (air) Down+J or Down+K.
– Don’t fight with the Blue Bar almost full (always keep track), you’ll end up filling another energy slot while fighting and then won’t be able to use skills or dodge all of sudden (bad game design e.e)
— The gun is a very good tool to hit enemies from afar, and fill up blue energy so you can dash and use skills again.
– Only use energy slots to kill big bosses, calling support characters is usually very good to maximize damage.
