Welcome to the Arco: Achievement Guide! This article will help you get (most of) the achievements in Arco, a popular gaming platform. The achievements are listed in chronological order, with combat achievements at the bottom. Please note that this guide is still a work in progress and we need your help to complete it. The remaining achievements are: Play The Game – Bribe a newcomer and Wall Hugger – Discover all dungeon secrets. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Pilgrimage
The next achievement is completed exclusively in Act I.
Jumpscare!
At very beginning of the game, there is a donkey just below where you start. Pet it until it yells at you.
Old Bones
The next few achievements are completed exclusively in Act II.
You will need Blueberries and a Shovel.
Hungry
At the Lonely Hut just north-east of Murzeku, there is a scared lamb in the hut. Pick the option to slaughter the lamb.
Tip: Save the game before picking the option. Reload your save for the next achievement.
Shepherd
Feed the lamb Blueberries and it will follow you. Bring the lamb to the shepherds. You can find Blueberries in bushes in the Hinterlands.
Bounty Hunter Killer
In the Hinterlands, you will run into a bounty hunter. Attack him and you will loot a map that points to his hideout. Journey past the Foothills in the north-east to the Steep Path. In the Steep Path, walk right to loop around to the rocks at the bottom. Explore the path (red arrow) below the rocks.
Heartless
In the Fields south of Onem, a woman will offer you cookies. Say you don’t like cookies.
Looks Safe
In Act II, in the Mountain Temple’s first open room, try to jump to the pillar.
In Act IV, in The Rim, try to jump down (without using a Rope) to the lower ledge.
In Act IV, in the Abandoned Mine a couple travels east of the Salt Quarry, kill the Hobs to the right and then try to jump down the hole (without using a Rope).
Wall Hugger
I have not figured this one out yet, but here’s a few “secrets” I’ve noticed.
In Act II, in the Mountain Temple’s first open room, use Dash II to get on the pillar and loot the area.
In Act III, in the Tuxaun Cellar, there is a wall in the eastern room that can be blown up. Not sure how to get in there yet.
In Act IV, in A’tagak (see III/III), there is a path down from the Sun Spider. Follow it into the darkness.
In Act IV, in the Abandoned Mine after killing all the Hobs, head down and follow the hallway all the way into the darkness. This is the only one that made a discovery sound.
Moon Moth
At the end of the Mountain Temple, use a Shovel to get access to the moth’s lair and kill it. You can buy a Shovel for 15 gold in Onem.
I/III
Prerequisite: Kill the Moon Moth. Do not give the Medallion Piece to Itzae yet.
After killing the Moon Moth, touch the altar and take the Medallion Piece.
Get to the Abandoned House north of the Bog; see Was It Worth It? below. Enter the house and pull the knife out of the skeleton. When the skeleton speaks, use the Dark Magic prompt and accept its deal. Follow the path east and touch the obelisk.
Afterwards, give the Medallion Piece to Itzae.
Was It Worth It?
Prerequisite: Tizo must have 5 HP or higher.
The Abandoned House is found north of the Bog in Kanek lands (not the be confused with the Abandoned House near Onem). On the Bog’s left side there is a pathway. Push through it until you get to the house. Kill all the bugs.
No Judgement
At the Herbalist House, speak to the Herbalist and accept his quest. Bring him the Beetle Juice and say what the hell.
Search for Glory
The next few achievements are completed exclusively in Act III.
You will need the Medallion Piece, a Stick, and an Antidote.
Not For Me
At the beginning of Act III, talk to your uncle and tell him, on second thought, you are serious about becoming a squash farmer.
Bad Gift
At the beginning of Act III, take the Necklace from the Graveyard west of Katzan and donate it to the Shrine north of Katzan.
Mimic
At the end of the Tzuanar Temple, open the innocent looking old chest. If you gave the Medallion Piece to Itzae, take the other half of the amulet from the Mimic. Afterwards, kill it.
Happy Boy
When you encounter a group of trasgos in the Burnt Forest, tell them you mean no harm, you would never steal their sticks, and offer to help dig. Split the findings with them. There will be a sad one. Give it a Stick.
Entrepreneur
One of the trasgos in the Burnt Forest is a merchant. Sell it enough goods until you have 15 sticks.
Tip: Save the game before selling your items.
Stock Trader
At the Hunter’s House, the hunter will give you a quest to get his donkey back. Do not return it. Take the donkey to the arena (or Holy Grounds) with you. Much later on you will run into Atzi in Zurkano. Sell the donkey to him.
Tip: When you are ready to go to the other side of the river, save the game. You will load it for the Forest Alliance achievement.
Forest Alliance
Prerequisite: It seems like you cannot have the donkey with you or the Axolotls will always attack you. (Possibly because you gain guilt for taking it.)
Greet the Axolotis in Cliff City on the other side of the river and help them with their task.
Tip: Load the save file before you cross the river and give the donkey back before doing this achievement.
Double Vax
At the Waterfall on the other side of the river, walk under the waterfall and either fight or feed the Axolotls Worms. Open the overgrown chest and use Antidote on yourself.
Pignose Frog
Prerequisite: Itzae must know the Jump II ability.
Cross the river to the arena. In the Clearing, save the Newcomer Cartographer from the frogs that are chasing him. Ask him about the statue and head to the Frog Statue he marks on your map. Kill the Pignose Frog at the end of the temple.
II/III
Prerequisite: Tizo gave the Medallion Piece to Itzae in Act II.
After killing the Pignose Frog, use the Medallion on the wall above to access the obelisk.
Legend
At the Arena, do single fights until you have reached rank 10.
The Show Mustn’t Go On
After you are rank 10, enter the tournament. Once you reach the end of it, continue picking the resist arrest prompt until the enemies stop spawning.
Two Halves
The next few achievements are completed exclusively in Act IV.
You will need a Machete, 2 Shovels, and 2 Ropes.
Tip: You might want a second Machete to cut down Agave Hearts from trees (+2 HP heal).
If you are going for the obelisk achievement, there are several events that will raise your guilt:
- In Aziya, accept the Huntress’ quest to see who is poisoning the water and ignore it. You may want to go for the Toaster achievement first.
- In the Fauna Patch, meet the Iyo guy and head west to the Cacti Field. Give him up to the bandits.
- Partner up with Aabroo and bring her to her people. Pick the prompt “We had a deal!”
- Kill the Hermit.
- Kill all Hobs in the Abandoned Mine. (See Genocide achievement.)
Playground
At the beginning of Act IV, speak to the kid in Aziya and tell him you will find his ball. You’ll find it in the middle of the Fauna Patch to the east.
That Toaster
Tip: Save the game before doing this achievement and load it afterwards.
In Aziya, talk to the Huntress and complete her quest. If you don’t have a Shovel yet, buy one from her for 5 gold. Buy a lot of Water. Go to the Cacti Field to the east. Dig with your shovel and keep searching for a better spot until it says you’ve found the perfect spot. You’ll dig up a Toaster eventually. Now go to your inventory and use the toaster. (You may have to dig up some regular items first before you can attempt to search for the Toaster.)
Sun Spider
At the Butte, north-east of the Cacti Fields, find the pathway in the middle of the zone. Take it to Butte itself and climb it with a Rope. View the structure in the distance. Journey to the structure A’tagak. Fight your way in and use a Machete to clear the vines. Kill the Sun Spider. If you are going for obelisks, choose to touch the shadows.
Tip: Give the new blood ability to your favorite character.
III/III
Prerequisite: You must have high guilt in order to touch the obelisk.
After killing the Sun Spider, choose to touch the shadows. Travel south-east into the desert from Motakar (bring water).
Bonus: In the Worm Territory south of Motakar, use a Shovel to dig up the treasure and kill the skeletons to get the Red Amethyst Ring.
Keep travelling until you reach the obelisk. If you have sufficient guilt, you can touch the obelisk.
Tip: Give the new blood ability to your favorite character.
Kitty Litter
In Motakar, there is a cat below the hill. Buy a fish from the vendor just below it. Talk to the cat and use the Fish prompt until it trusts you. Pet the cat until it gives you experience. Now give it the fish as a treat.
(The cat never actually took the fish from my inventory, so if that gets fixed, you might have to buy multiple fish.)
Sheriff
In Iart’a, speak with the west Trader and keep inquiring about ghosts until he gives you the Ghost Story quest. In the Stud Farm, discover the body in the bush in the top right corner. When you get to The Rim, climb down the ledge using a Rope. Investigate the singing and finish the conversation with the person there.
Tip: Save the game before climbing down; see Looks Safe.
Exterminator
In Kreg’en, speak with the Miner and agree to kill all the bugs in the Mine. (Don’t bother trying to loot the pile of shattered bones.) Push Afur down the hole to get to the final bugs.
Bonus gold: Pick the Tetl Ore reward and buy all Tetl Ore you can from the Trader there. Sell all ore at Tek’na that is in the south. Repeat the buying and selling until there is no more ore left (about 3 trips).
Genocide
In the Abandoned Mine a couple travels east of the Salt Quarry, kill all the Hobs.
Tip: The Crab Shell armor you get from killing all crabs in the cave at Rocky Outcrop (north-east of Motakar) works really well here.
Oil & Blood
The next few achievements are completed exclusively in Act V.
You will need 3 gold and Dynamite.
True Supporter
This one is hard to pinpoint down, but I got it in my second playthrough after speaking to the “drunk” at the bar at the beginning of Act V that talks about pixel art. The best bet is to talk to every character you see that has a speech bubble.
Useless
Buy a train ticket from the ticket seller. You will need 3 gold.
Play The Game
I haven’t figured this one out yet. There are coal shovelers on the train in Act V that can be bribed, but it doesn’t seem to trigger the achievement. Paying the kid at the train station doesn’t work. Also, in Act III, giving a merchant 5 gold to sell you stuff doesn’t count either.
Dark Path
Prerequisite: You must have completed all obelisk events in the playthrough.
Get to the end of the game with high guilt and finish the final boss.
Guilty
Do enough bad deeds to get your guilt high. Awarded after game credits roll. Typically this be a natural achievement at the end of an obelisk run.
Not Guilty
Do a lot of the good deeds that lighten your guilt throughout the game. Avoid doing any of the big high guilt deeds. Basically avoid conflict and do the right thing.
Stingy
Save coins until you have 40. Alternatively, in Act V, all the items you didn’t use on all the characters will be automatically be sold for gold.
Gotta Catch Em All
You can catch fish at various bodies of water using Worms and other insects in Acts II, III, and IV.
Pay To Win
Use items from your inventory (ie. healing items) throughout your playthrough. Using items in combat might count as well.
Bomberman
Use dynamite on a group of enemies. You can also get this as early as Act I from enemies own explosions.
Nature Lover
Lead enemies into Hardbeaks and other environmental hazards like exploding plants.
Not So Useless
Itzae will acquire a Rock from helping the trasgos. Use it to kill an enemy with 2 HP left. You may also be able to find a rock later on too.
Toxicology
You can poison enemies with items and abilities. There are Acid Bombs and Flasks of Sap in Act IV that poison.
Let Me Play
You can stun enemies with items and abilities. The characters in Act IV have a lot of abilities and items that stun.
Bully
This can be done easily in Act IV with an Acid Bomb or Afur’s stun and a Flask of Sap.
Pinchito
Use Tizo’s or Afur’s Pierce Buff ability along with other arrow attacks like Shoot Arrow III and Double Shot II.
Rage
This can be done easily near the end of Act IV with Chio’s abilities that damage multiple enemies. After getting your dust funds back, choose Chio’s plan. Once Afur is found dead, Chio will enter a rage and she will deal bonus damage and not spend any Magia.
Tip: Save the game before looting items in the factory in Act IV.
Blessed
While in combat, sparkling fairies will spawn occasionally with a sound effect. Similar to ghosts, they will float away while you plan your moves, so immediately run to them.
