Welcome to our guide for unlocking all achievements in Alone in the Dark! In order to obtain all achievements, you will need to complete three playthroughs. The first playthrough is for one playable character and requires collecting all collectibles. The second playthrough is for the other character with the same collecting task. The third and final playthrough is a time challenge of completing the game in 3 hours with either character. The game offers a choice of two playable characters – Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood – and each character’s playthrough is unique. The difficulty level does not affect achievements, so feel free to play on easy for all three playthroughs. Keep in mind that there are collectibles that are exclusive to each character, and some can be found in different locations. Don’t worry, our guide lists all collectibles for both characters and includes a helpful tip to easily locate them. The game also includes a map with room names for navigation. Happy hunting!

Complete the game with the boss kill in Chapter 5.

Start the speedrun only after completing the storyline 2 times – for Emily and Edward with collecting all the collectibles. Don’t waste time on optional combat with enemies. In the fifth chapter, activate the secret ending with Grace (“What Just Happened?” achievement).

1. Collect lagniappes set “All the World’s a Stage” in Chapter 4 for Edward AND Emily;
2. In Chapter 5, you can interact with Grace and give her the toy to activate the secret ending.

Take aim at any NPC.

1. Collect lagniappes set “The Hartwood Curse” in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 for Edward OR Emily;
2. Interact with the noose on the attic (right side).

1. Collect lagniappes set “A Goat Without Horns” in Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 for Edward;
2. After collecting during chapter 4, you will receive an additional objective to give an offering to the whispering tree in a Conservatory. Complete this quest sequence to get the achievement.

1. Collect lagniappes set “Dying With Dignity” in Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 for Emily;
2. Once you reach Dr. Gray’s Apartment and open the hidden passage, enter his walk-in closet and you’ll have the option to wash the paint off the portrait which will trigger the second objective, which is to submit to the Dark Man.

Lagniappes is one of the collectibles. In the guide, everything related to them is marked with purple color. Lagniappes are items in a set of 3 items each. There are 15 sets in total.
The game has collectible items that are only available to one of the two characters. Some collectibles can be found in different places for each character. All collectibles for all characters are listed in the guide. To easily find collectibles, you can spam RMB regularly to increase the radius of finding items to interact with. The game includes a map with the name of each of the rooms.

Requires two playthroughs for each of the two playable characters. You can talk a few times with characters. To get this achievement, you must listen to all available dialogs in one meeting with a character.

The shotgun can be found in Small Parlor room at the end of chapter two. To unlock the shotgun, collect lagniappes set “Lost children” in Chapter 2 for Edward OR Emily.
