Default Rugs
Now this mat is small but it has such great use for covering good nooks and crannies. I keep one default one around so people know where to enter given its the welcome mat. Other than that it has such potential as it is the smallest mat to fill in many a crevice. But as it stands in this texture and color you only need one. Its strengths in showing the beginnings of something wonderful along with its sheer potential will place it as a solid A tier. So much potential and giving the feels entry into the world of rugs.
The default square mat is good for large space coverings however the color is not the best. To me under most lighting conditions it just doesn’t seem to pop or give a good high tone. The pattern is alright I just wish it wasan’t as muted however this shape is great for large spaces. D tier, only kept out of F because it covers a lot of space but the default pattern is horrible.
These long boys are great for slim and filling in long gaps against walls provided it fits. So it is a more utility style of space filling over just slopping down big boys. The default pattern is a nice solid green pattern and given its uniformity it works good in a pinch to make a sort of turf area to act like you have some nice green grass to stand on. B tier.
The fancy oval’s default pattern is the current most intricate pattern in the game. It is very nice to look at and will give a heavy sense of flair and regal air to your home provided you can stack up enough of them. They are finicky with placement and can leave gaps so you will need to gap fill some spots with other rugs but just this pattern alone sows refinement, especially when having a gross amount of them in one spot to create a super exquisite display. Because you can flex with them, S tier.
Reds
The red welcome mat is a humble but noteworthy pattern. The white on it is a good contrast to the red surrounding it. However given the brightness of the white and the more simplicity of the pattern it gets hurt by the candy cane effect. Which in turn makes it slightly uglier as it is not always Christmas. C Tier.
This rug pattern gives more of a regal look at it is a nice darker crimson style of red. Large covering and gives a nice cool feel of softness on the feet. Under the right lighting it can also pop just enough without being too distracting. It is a fine rug and gives a beautiful look to many of a base. S Tier.
This pattern of squares is more basic and it is a lighter red compared to the square’s red. The lines remind me of the forming dots optical illusion so it can give the childlike wonder to your base to allow for greater intrigue and imagination for science. Overall it is a useful color pattern and looks nice enough to be a fine addition to any home. B Tier.
As before the oval rug has very intricate patterns. However in this red it does have a more muted white compared to the welcome mat so it does blend better. My main issue is a pattern this intricate is lost when it is only two colors and from a distance looks more like a silly string mess. Up close it is nicer but when rugging in bulk it needs to be good from every distance. C tier.
Oranges
The pattern on this reminds me of sort of a giraffe print. Because we do not currently have any giraffes it is a friendly pattern to remind us of our long necked horses. Good to have a couple of these in nice spots so people can be presently reminiscent that somehow a horse with a 6 foot neck exists but unicorns don’t. B tier.
It feels too simple because it is. But not simple in a good minimalist way but more of its just some + and X. This is one of them you’d just have as a couple gap fills but I would focus on more exciting colors that pop as this one is just too muted overall in its tone. D Tier.
Now unlike the previous orange this is more of a pop. The white is unobtrusive and gives a good grounding effect to it. The pattern itself feels like an ancient ruin that one would come across to give the explorer vibe to your base. Feeling as if you are unlocking the secrets of the lost city of gold or the fountain of youth. But we cannot find as much scientific merit in magic unless we can exploit it. B tier.
The orange on orange here makes it feel more solid and the pattern itself is mostly lost from a distance which harms it. The pattern itself is a quad eye stare as it watches you from afar however it becomes blinded due to the aspects of render distance. A sad feelings of the eyes finding you at one moment but then it floats away as if a gust of wind extinguished its flame. C Tier.
IS-1057s (Yellows)
This pattern here feels as if it was an older version of a kaleidoscope. Exciting to see what it can bring as if you stare long enough you can ascertain the esoteric knowledge of the brightness of the universe. However given its color it does not fit the actual wavelengths needed to unlock the secrets. C tier.
Pattern feels a bit lost in here with its semi seedless snowflake deal. It should of went for a more boneless look but it is still usable and is an upgrade over the more muted and blank colors of this rug in particular. C tier.
The pattern here suffers from the same fate as the previous. From a distance it is heavily lost however the double star of it can allow a scientist to think of critical hits. The reminder of the critical nature of combat within the facility is a good reminder of how to function here but it is faulted as it can only be read from a closer area. One needs to consider this constantly so this rug would be best suited to be near the exit so a scientist must walk over it to be reminded. C tier.
oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval Jimmy oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval Gibbs oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval nascar oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval Dale oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval oval S tier.
Limes (in the coconut)
The lime welcome mat is a bright and colorful addition to any base. It can give a nice stark pop to any area of your base and because of being able to fit in the smallest of spaces it is got for giving detailed highlights to your base. Useful in many ways for the overall look of your base. S tier.
Now this texture of triangles along with its more muted look is akin to a cactus. As the cactus isn’t in the game yet this is our best stop for now to remind us of our prickly friends. The color itself is slightly muted so it doesn’t feel as fun to get a cuddle on it but the implication of the cacti gives it a good rating. B tier.
I don’t know how this is lime. It doesn’t look bright enough to be lime and feels like I was cheated. For the insult of not getting an actual bright lime color he will be banished, which is a shame because he is a good pattern but the transgression cannot be forgiven. F tier.
This pattern in particular reminds me of some patterns of my silk shirts from when disco was a thing. I would wear this in a heart beat even today as I appreciate the pattern. Beautiful squares reminding us of the good times of Saturday night fever. I will die on the hill of disco was the best thing ever to happen. S tier.
Greens
I mean its technically green but its very muted. The ziggle zaggle is alright for a pattern but overall I feel the muted color makes it become lost. If it was all dark like a deeper spinach green it would work better. D tier.
This gives a weird mix of dark green but not dark enough. The pattern itself is alright enough with the fun dots and ovals however the coloration just doesn’t feel like the best personally. Its muted in a way that it has no subtle pop its just boring. D tier.
Green Rectangle Rug
This is a nice wiggly green. Fun Rorschach patterns so you can find your emotional trauma and it is a beautiful shade of green that will tie any base together. It is a solid addition to be put in many places to work the inner reaches of any good scientists mind. A tier.
Sadly this pattern falls to the same side of muted but not in a good way like the square one. Too thickly dark to be useful but is still necessary to complete a collection. Maybe has use for a darker area but it will have to go lower. D tier.
Blues
It is mountainous, shaded, perfectly subtle, showing the zig zag of the ridge lines of nature, reminding us of the peaks to climb. S tier
Finally a perfect dark subtle tone for the square rug. It is a deep royal shade of blue to give the same perfect regal feel of a deep flowing ocean. Water is the lifeblood of any scientist as we must quench our thirst for knowledge and feel the depths of the ocean of information. S tier.
The blue here feels like it has become dehydrated. Sadly the rug looks more chalky in this method as if it needs some good lotion to moisturize it. C tier.
Now the blue here is a bit chalky as the last one however the white is what saves it. The white gives it a look of sea foam to make us feel the depths of the frothing body of knowledge that we salt from. Also to remind us to not forget to grab any salt that we see as it is a good resource to have. B Tier.
Cyans
The cyan of the welcome mat is alright however the pattern itself makes it look heavily seeded and prickly. One would be afraid to step on it so it could be a good deterrent to any trespassers however in general just the color itself is a good form for a pop of splash. C tier.
This is a good subtle pattern of square on square but the color itself feels muted. However when properly accented it has great potential so I wont slap it down as much as I usually do. The cyan itself is alright in a subtle look as it can be used better for small additions and pops. C tier.
Beautiful. The floral pattern gives us the plants that we cannot currently obtain. A feeling of nature at the soles of your feet. Simply wonderful however the pattern can get lost a bit at distance. A tier.
This pattern would of looked better if it was in more of a turtle shell color as it reminds me of a turtle shell. The color itself is fine but because of the missed potential it must be slapped down. D tier.
Pinks
Now this is a properly bright and flashy rug. Very nice semi floral pattern and the small size can hide little pops of color around your base. S tier.
Pink Square Rug
Good brightness here too however the pattern feels more of a weave. Like it was trying too hard to work for the esoteric knowledge however it can be seen that the leylines are off so I’ll have to take points off for that. It is a good attempt but it can be seen as a reproduction. B tier.
This pattern is nice and simple. Gives a good contrast to many looks and the lines look nice. If lined up properly its one of the patterns that can go on for as long as you want it to. However the side lines cannot be given a good gap properly. A tier
This rug looks like a mess. The texture is lost too much given how close the pattern is and the white breaks up the pink too much. It had such potential as the lines could of been worked better instead of squeezing too much into it. The main problem being that the wiggles get lost and melts the pink too much at a distance, dishonorable. F tier.
Purples
The simplicity of the alternating dark purple squares looks beautiful. It is also the same pattern of a tie I own. Purple is an underrated color and I feel many people fear it but one should not be scared of it. It is a powerful color befitting ones who know their stance in the world. S tier.
Nice and dark, geometric and powerful. It is suitable to do a combo break of you have a section of floor being too bright but overall it is a dark and color befitting the thinking scientist. Slightly too dark as the pattern can be lost but still perfect for some uses. A tier
Now this is purple but it doesn’t feel purple. It is a strange feeling of feeling the impostor part of this rug in particular. It is trying to be purple but it worries me as it doesn’t fill in everything that purple should be. Keep a close eye on him. B tier
Now like the last one you can call this purple however it doesn’t feel like a perfect purple. Another thing that you must keep an eye on just in case. However the pattern itself also gets lost so it will be lower. C tier
Browns
This pattern reminds me of a sort of art deco square however the color doesn’t fit as nice sadly. Its a bit muted but if it was a darker brown to highlight the pattern it would work better. C tier
Simple square but at the same time the color just feels more off here and the hyper simplicity makes it look like what the paint is made out of. F tier.
I just don’t like it. It looks like sound waves from a visualizer but in a pattern that doesn’t befit it. F tier.
This is the best coloration of the browns currently as it is more of a chocolate darker brown. Pattern gets lost at distance but in terms of a solid brown this would be your best choice. B tier.
Whites
The pattern reminds me of settlers of catan sort of. Any good nerd would know plenty about this game in particular so it fits that we would have this in the research facility. The smaller size of it is alright but it is still a subtle interesting pattern. B tier.
This is a simple pattern but it reminds me akin to laminate bathroom tile. So it is decient for some simple flat building and making a nice looking smooth floor. Not too obtrusive but gives a good simple utilitarian use. C tier.
You can play checkers or chess on it with enough figures. S tier.
This is a good white. Dark lines to break it up nicely, a bit scratchy however. If I were to use this it is akin to an alligator skin but the wrong color unless it is an albino one. It could be a good useful for a pop of texture however I feel this pattern would work better in a different color. C tier.
