FLARE NUINUI QUEST: FLARE NUINUI QUEST: All Achievements Guide

While finishing up some miscellaneous achievements, I noticed there was not a centralized guide on steam for all the achievements. Thus, here this one is! I will not be giving a guide for every room/boss in the game or anything of that level. More so, it will be a guide for all the steps needed for every achievement.

There are no “missable” achievements in this game. At any point, you can go to stage select and replay levels as many times as you want. As a result, many achievements, such as speedrunning and no-hit achievements are easier as you unlock new skills. You can definitely do these achievements on your first time through, but if you are having trouble, it can be useful to just keep going.

Later in the game, you will be required to backtrack to stages for several pickups. For these items, I will list them later in the guide in a separate “backtracking” section. They will not be in the Stage’s original section.

Every stage has 4 achievements associated with it. If you see less than 4, that’s because that achievement is not possible on the first playthrough of the stage.

Perfect Debut
Defeat Usadrill without taking damage

Definitely feel free to leave this one until later is you’re struggling. Worth noting is for this bullet spray attack, you’re completely safe directly under Usadrill.

She Did Nothing Wrong
Be defeated by Watame

In order to get this achievement, you must lose the last of your health to Watame Janken. How you get to that last bit of health does not matter.

Unfazed
Defeat Pekora without jumping

Pekora has very low health, so just spam charge attacks and facetank all her attacks.

Stage 1 Quick Clear
Clear stage 1 in under 5 minutes

The time limit is fairly lenient, but feel free to return later if need be.

Just after checkpoint 3, you will encounter a room with a pekobot and 2 pits.

Jump in the 2nd pit (the one closest to the pekobot). After clearing the next room, you will see this stage’s key.

Scythe No More
Clear stage 2 without taking damage from scythes

This achievement has a lot of confusion and misinformation around it. According to Sulpx, the creator of the game, the achievement requires 2 things to be collected: 1. You cannot get hit by the scythes that are stage obstacles and 2. You cannot die or reload. the miniboss does NOT count towards scythes. This is a very tall ask on first playthrough.

Dead End
Meet Shion

After the miniboss, just keep going right. Shion will be hanging out after the scythe field.

Elite Win
Defeat Miko without using skills

I believe what this achievement implies is that you cannot use any charge moves. Just use normal shots to win.

Stage 2 Quick Clear
Clear stage 2 in under 5 minutes

This is one such stage that is drastically easier at the end of the game.

A few rooms after the miniboss, you will encounter a blue block covered by a patch of grass on the left wall.

A bit further to the right is a blue switch, which you can press and slide through the now gone space. This will take you to this stage’s key.

Hidden Treasure
Find the hidden room

Just after the checkpoint where you meet Aqua for the first time, there’s a curtain in a hallway. Go under it and jump straight up. Doing so will reveal a hidden room with a treasure chest in it.

No Scratches
Clear stage 3 without taking damage from rocks

This achievement refers to the auto shooter section. You can’t take damage from the rocks that you drive by in either the sidescroller or the boss battle with Marine.

Stage 3 Quick Clear
Clear stage 3 in under 5 minutes

Just after the “lighting candles” section, you can go left 2 screens. You will reach this screen with a bunch of candles you have to light while using the vents. This will open the way to this stage’s key.

Poyoyo!
Meet Poyoyo

After the fubu-tower miniboss, keep a look out for an opening on the right side in the following rooms.

Once you slide in, you’ll get to say hi to Poyoyo.

Introvert’s Weakness
Defeat Ayame using her own defense field

This one is slightly finnicky, but you have to finish Ayame off with a reflected projectile. I personally used the pekora rocket, but regardless of what you choose, you have to reflect off the force field and hope she jumps to the other side of the arena to get hit.

Stage 4 Quick Clear
Clear stage 4 in under 5 minutes

Later in the stage past Ayame, there will be a hole in the ground with a small crevice you can slide through. This will take you to a downwards platforming section and this stage’s key.

Unexpected Situation
Achieve the bad ending

Beat the stage normally. Once you do so, the game will tell you that you’re missing things needed for the good ending. We’ll be going back and collecting those next.

Stage 5 Quick Clear
Clear stage 5 in under 5 minutes

This is the toughest quick clear in the game. More than any other stage, I would strongly suggest waiting on this one until you are fully kitted out.

AKU-X
Defeat Aqua

Go back to stage 3. In the section with candles and Aqua sleepwalking, hit her with Marine’s charge attack. You’ll get a pair of very familiar looking non-copyright infringing swords

A New Path
Defeat the last boss in stage 4

With your new swords, go back to Yamato to kick Noel’s butt. Noel is extremely weak to your new weapon, so hit her a few times.

Evil Vanquished
Achieve the good ending

After defeating Noel in Yamato, you will be thrust into the Demon Lord’s Castle, where you will have to beat the stage as Noel. There are a few extra fights at the end. Once you do all that, congrats! You’ve gotten the good ending.

This stage is a boss rush. Hope you’ve gained some boss skills.

You’ll need to have all 5 keys from the previous stages in order to finish the stage.

Water in the Fire Why
Shoot fire bullets underwater

Use Flare’s own skill during the Gura fight.

Frozen in Time
Defeat Ame while time is slowed down

Ame has the power to slow time in this fight, and you must defeat her while time is slowed. I found this difficult as Flare, as at low health Ame would charge a move to restart the fight rather than slow time. I found this achievement much easier as Noel.

Only Flare!
Clear stage 6 playing as Flare only

Beat all the bosses as Flare.

Only Noel!
Clear stage 6 playing as Noel only

Beat all the bosses as Noel.

Uber Sheep
Defeat Watame without taking damage

Don’t take any damage during the auto driving section.

Out of the Angel’s Grasp
Defeat Kanata without falling from the clouds

During the Kanata boss fight, don’t fall into the pits.

Legacy of the Dragon
Defeat the secret boss

After the Kanata fight, go left and down until you reach a screen where you see Luna behind a gate.

Throw a Marine sword and hit the lever on the other side of the gate. After that, go back up to the Kanata bossfight arena and fall down.

Fall all the way down and beat the boss.

Truly Devilish
Achieve the true ending

Defeat Towa and beat the final stage!

Secret Society
Access the buried prison

In every stage is a hidden member of HoloX you must defeat in a minigame.

Start at the beginning of the stage. Hit the red button and then go and fight Usadrill. After the fight, end up on the right side so you can climb up and go to where you got Flare’s guns.

Jump up to the top right corner of the warehouse. In two rooms you’ll see Koyori.

A few rooms in where there are two scythes, jump up to the top left corner and go left off the screen.

You’ll find Chloe where you have to beat her in a game of Blackjack!

After the candle/Aqua section, go up as high as you can and go over the top right side of the screen.

You’ll find Lui, where you have to shoot her.

In the 2nd room, jump up the left wall all the way to the top.

From there, you have some tricky jumps to get to the room on the right, where you’ll see Iroha and do another split second reaction minigame like Lui’s

After the Suisei fight, fall into the hole in the next room, but hug the left wall. Jump into the gap in the wall on the way down.

Hi Laplus!

The Knight’s Path
Achieve the true ending (Noel mode)

Beat the whole game again on Noel mode. You will have to beat Towa in order to get the achievement!

Gambler
Obtain 777 crystals

Save all nousagis
