This is a guide on how to get the no violence as rioter achievement (Just Cause). I also go over a few in-game quirks and tips!
How to do Indignados (Spain) Pozo Soton (Last Level)/ Tips
First of all the difficulty should be on Too Easy. This will make the cops more stupid and less likely to charge you at the start. (Plus this is already a pain in the rear to get so do it just to save yourself some sanity)
The worst mission for this is the last level of Indignados (Spain). The one with the riot police with shotguns and the protesters with firework launchers.
You’re basically gonna wanna take your expected participation to 1 (or negative which will default to 1 person per group).
An easy way to do this is to fill your slots with 1 holy bomb, and the other 3 with the anti tear gas spray (you’ll need that to actually finish the level). As well as set flags to excessive and gear to guerrilla.
Once you have your groups of 1 person, you will now need to wait out the long introduction of them firing their firework launchers. The moment it ends you will have to spam them into a corner and start to convert them to passive (not angry) mode. Make sure to watch your groups and if a single rock is thrown it will more than likely hit a riot officer and you will have to restart the whole process over. Then instruct them all with the number 4 to build a barricade (this will give you time to make them passive)
Once they’re all in the corner if they’re not easily converting to passive (for whatever reason this happens) you can trap them there and try to wait out the time. Or you can restart. Once all groups are passive you will want to run to the other side of the map (ignore the cops you can literally walk through them) and then set up the passive group “barricades” (them putting their hands up) on the totally opposite time.
From there you will have to manage their anger (look in the top left for the blue bar if it gets low then use choir ability to raise it back up). This is best used when the cops throw a stun grenade/shoot. Eventually you’ll run out the time and win! (you’ll need a lot of luck this mission took me around 15 attempts because god do the people love throwing rocks)
How to do Karetea (Greece) Eftihis’ Ballad (Second To Last Mission)/Tips
Now how do you do this I hear you asking! The cops have a super advantage because they can simply ignore your protesters!
Well first of all lets do some set up. You’ll want as many warm bodies as possible for this, so all 4 slots will be to Social (Spam these as much as possible) to get more bodies! As well as defenseless/no flags.
Now if your people start out angry QUICKLY pull them back and make them passive. If a single rock hits an officer’s shield that is a violent act and you’ll have to restart the mission. Once you have assembled your horde you will now run up to the police like this.
Now I hear you asking how we’re supposed to remove the cops without being violent at all! Well that’s where a weird feature/intended bug? Comes in.
Fun fact if you hit tab you switch groups, also if you hold your arrow keys (yes not wasd your arrow keys) specifically the right arrow key. You will see your protesters suddenly gain the ability to move past the police/against them. (This works for any mission).
With this newfound knowledge you will now make a human wall and PUSH the police back. The way you do this is by spamming tab and holding down the right arrow key. This will essentially force every protester to shove against the cops and physics glitch them back!
Now keep this up for the 60 seconds it takes for the cops to lose this mission! No sweat right?
How to do every other mission.
A single rock hitting a police officer is aggressive. If you can’t win the objective then take all cameras and wait for the police to be violent then spam them. Just make sure your protesters don’t fight back
Use the right arrow key hold feature/bug to hold cops back if you need them to stay away from an area/get past them.
Every other mission except for the ones outlined above is simple to do without violence!
Reminder that cops have it easy! Thanks for reading and good luck! Riot on!
